I was just pinching my thigh *Don't ask* and realized it has more muscle than I think it ever has! But one thing I'm concerned about is that I'm losing weight fast. I know that you lose weight faster when you really need to lose weight for your health, but I've already lost 6 pounds and it hasn't been a week yet. Is that the reason why? I'm eating 3 squares, and exercising. I would hope I'm not that terribly bad. Anyway, just checking.

Hunter, that's a tough question since everyone and their metabolism is different. If you're sure you are taking in enough calories, then maybe it's because you are a young man..... that's a double blessing when it comes to weight loss because men have a naturally higher metabolism than women and you are young and that makes for quick weight loss sometimes. I know when I was younger it was a lot easier to lose a few pounds quick here and there. Just make sure you're consuming a healthy amount of calories and if you feel healthy then you're probably okay. I can always tell when I haven't eaten enough healthy calories. I feel like I have no energy and it's a feeling I don't like. Watch your body for signals. Take care..... sounds like you are doing well!

Oh, I'm sure I'm taking in enough calories, but what do you mean by healthy cals? I mean, I'm getting all my essential nutrients, and I feel good. Like, today I ran a complete half a mile jogging, without stopping. That feeling is just the best in the world. Today I almost walked the whole way, but at the point when I turn around to walk the 1/2 mile back, I decided to jog it. And I made it! It's also uphill too! So, I'm pretty confident I'm taking in a good amount of calories, just exercising more than I have been. The way I judge it is if I could eat like I am now forever, and I feel like I could.
Thanks!

you know what? i was wondering the same thing. i seem to have lost 4 pounds in 3 days. that doesnt seem that healthy, but i have been eating over 1200 each day. why is that? and i know that my scale isnt wrong, what could it be?

krystina, that's not all that unusual. My research has found that those type of fluctuations are cause by water retention or loss. This is especially true for females.
Keep eating healthy and exercise. You'll do fine.

Pickle is right, Hunter and Krystina.... it can vary because of a bunch of different factors. But Hunter, when I say healthy calories I mean calories from healthy foods. For instance..... today I had a piece of pizza and a piece of birthday cake and a bowl of Kashi for breakfast. I know I haven't gone overboard in calories, but what I ate today if I didn't eat any more wouldn't be very healthy or well rounded. So I think that the amounts of your calories can't be the only thing you look at if you want to be really healthy. But it sounds to me like you are when you list things that you eat. If you aren't feeling crummy, then you're probably doing okay. Your body would be telling you if you weren't eating the right things. You'd know..... take care and keep up the good work both of you!
