Hi everyone, I am a new member.Hmmm, where should I start I am partly a success although at this point and time I need motivation and
support !!!! Let's start with the success part, since January 98 I have lost of total of 58 pounds and over 16 inches from all over my body. Name it throughout my whole adult life I have tried WW, NutriSystem,
Professional Weight Loss, Fit for Life and a canadian program called Mincavie. My thyroid has been tested over and over again, always normal. I even tried Redux and Ponderal
for a while but that didn't work either.

And now since January 99 I still fluctuate between 195 and 199, my ideal goal would be 135 so I would need to lose an additional 65 pounds or so. Where my frustration you would say......
I am healthy and very active, I go to the gym do weights, cardio, walk, 4 to 5 times a week.

Just recently I have taken up jogging on the treadmill. So I am losing inches but not the weight and I am fully aware that muscle weighs more than fat.

Just last week I tried for the first time Atkins, well I gained 5 pounds the first week, now after 9 days I have lost 3 pounds but I am not in ketosis. I just find it very discouraging that I exercise, keep a food journal and I do not lose the weight I want too. I go by my clothes but then again, I would like to fit in a regular size
and not longer plus sizes (only the bottom part now, on top I take large or extra-L.)

By the way, I am 37 and I live in Hull, Quebec, Canada. Please feel free to send along suggestions
or just a note.

Welcome, Josée! It's always great to see new members come on in. Hope you'll find what you need here. There are so many great people here who do lots of different things, so maybe you can find some suggestions that will be helpful. Sounds like you have the exercizing down pat. Now maybe you just need to find a food plan that fits you and works for you. Are you drinking any water? That's really important to your health, too. And if you aren't consuming enough calories, your weight won't come off as easily either. But you've already lost a good amount! Congratulations on that!! You might just be at a plateau of sorts, too. Just try to be patient and keep making healthy choices. You'll get there.... it sounds like you are determined and that makes all the difference!! Hope to meet you in chat sometime soon! Take care.....

Keep going. Never give up! Stay FOCUSED! These are things I've been telling myself since then end of December when I finally came to the point where I just couldn't continue as a fat, disabled housewife. I've gone from 226 to 208 in the last month, and want to get under 150. I was 120 when I got married 16 years ago. Anyway, I was limping along on my own this last couple of weeks, and desperately looking for some internet friends to keep me motivated. And then this morning I found this message board! I know that for me it will be easier to keep going than to get started again. I'm not on any particular diet, just trying to cut back the amount I eat and chose lower fat/sugar foods, plus move more. Keep on keeping on!
