I am in a dilemna. I have lost 68 lbs so far, and wear a size 16, Most of my clothes are size 24, with some 22s and 20s. I went through my closet last night and decided it was time to get rid of them, and then I stopped, thinking "Well, what if I gained the weight back". I have lost and gained so many times in the past, I am scared of getting rid of them.

Did you keep your clothes are losing weight, or give them away, and why?

Also, I am happy to report that I went shopping again yesterday (BIG SALES) and bought 3 new outfits for a VERY good price.

Hope everyone is having a great week-end.

I bought a pair of jeans second hand a while ago that ended up to be too big.. Now they're not (they were relaxed fit, so just about 1/2 a size).. Give them away is my advice!

Positive thinking is what its all about. somwhere in your head you must be thinking that you may need them again someday.
BUT YOU WONT!!!! you wont EVER need them again...those scales are going to keep moving downward.
Get rid of them.

Give them to the Salvation Army. Just pack them up, tell them you won't miss them and off they should go.
That way if ever your new size gets snug you will NOT be able to just slip into an outfit that is more comfortable. Will make you think twice about that extra piece of cake for dessert.
You will not gain the weight back, unless you decide that the food is more important than how you feel about yourself. Remember the quote, "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels".
*HUGS*....focus :)

They say that as soon as your clothes are to big you should get rid of them so you don't want to ever fit in them again. If there sitting there you might just slip and get back into them especially the bigger sizes i'd give them away.

See you lighter

First of all, congratulatons on the terrific
weight loss. I had to make the same decision myself awhile back. I chose to get rid of all the big sizes except for 1 outfit. I am setting this aside, so that I can wear it in a baggy dress parade at my Tops Club.

Give them away! If you don't, it's like saying you're gonna wear them again. When I started Weight Watchers, I wore size 18-20. It wasn't until I got to a size 10 that I dared give my 'big clothes' away. I gave them to my mom. Since my dad died, my mom has lost weight too. Now she can't wear most of them either, lol. So now they've moved on to my aunt. I refuse to spend the money to replace those clothes, so I just can't gain it back.

Thanks. Maybe it is time to give them away, my friend is coming over today to see what she wants. I was going to go through them first and pick out and save my favorite things, but I WILL NOT. The only thing I will save is the size 24 jeans, only because I like to try them on as a motivation for me to continue.

Thanks so much for the support.

I was there last year. I had 2 lawn bags full of clothes that I got rid of. No way did I ever think of keeping them. I did not, and still don't want to fit back into those cothes. As Bell said, don't think about should I keep them, what if I need them again. You will keep the weight off you have lost, and loose more if you choose too. Great job on your loss. That's wonderful. I kept some T-shirt's that fit snug when I was a size 24, that I now where as night shirts. That is my motivation to keeping the weight off. Plus 2 pictures I keep next to the computer. Christmas party 1999, & same place in 2000.
Take care,
~Stacey~

I was going through my things today and could just KICK MYSELF for not saving the really cute things I bought when I was a 14-16 a few years ago. It makes me sad. :( As the others have said...give the big clothes away and kiss that size good-bye forever. :)

You have to get rid of them josey! Like other's have mentioned..you'll find your way back to them if you dont!! Donate them! that's what I'm doing with my "too big" clothes..the salvation army is getting them tomorrow! It's a great feeling too, knowing you're helping someone else out! One of Dr. Phil's tid-bits of advice is this...dont wear stretch pants!! get rid of those elastic banded pants as well! no more excuses for eating past the point of comfort! and eating your way into a larger size(it can happen before you know it!) hee heee heee!! Congrats on your fantastic weight lose Josey!
