hi everyone,
i just wanna share my success from yesterday! those who know me know that i am a chocolate addict. i love the stuff. i have eaten chocolate in the past to the point of being physically ill.
i am a nurse working in a maternity unit and we always have goodies sitting around from happy new parents and grandparents. and around holiday time, even the nurses are bringing MORE junk in.
yesterday i went to work and the nurses station was overflowing with candy. m & m's were all over the place. i remember thinking that i was gonna be in big trouble before the night was out. but i went all through the shift without a single bite of candy. my next challenge came at 9 pm when someone came up with the bright idea of ordering pizza. without minutes we had pizza's and breadsticks all over. but i resisted. finally about 10 pm a present arrived for the staff. the most delicious looking chocolate cheesecake i had ever seen. it had frosting and crumbled oreos on it and lots of whipped cream. i almost faltered here. i wanted some of that so bad! but i kept telling myself that i could last just 1 1/2 more hours without it and that i didn't need it. and i kept thinking that brad would make me pedal that monstrosity of a bicycle all by myself if i gave in. so i was successful all evening at avoiding the munches with some of my favorite no no's.
i felt so in control of my own destiny and let me tell u.....that is a great feeling.
see ya all later!
