Okay, I know we all know and love the tortoise, patron saint of all dieters (you know,The Tortoise and the Hare...)--but as I was watching Stanley on Playhouse Disney, he and his folks pounded the point home with a hammer ONCE AGAIN, Slow and steady wins the race, one step at a time, one day at a time, Every journey starts with a single step, ETC.--the story--Stanley and his parents go for a hike (nice, healthy activity ) and Stanley takes off running, falls... Then they start talking about Yaks--who walk up mountains slowly, but steadily....Do you see where I'm going with this?

Yeah, alot of us start our "plans" with a sprint...pant....pant....pant... then we get discouraged, because we can't keep up the pace. (whether we exercise til our body gives out, or whether we do ridiculously low calories...this is what I'm thinking sprinting is) We'll get there, like the tortoise, just as surely as the rabbit, sprinting and resting, but the tortoise, I'll guarantee, had a much better time, and he enjoyed the scenery on that gorgeous spring day!!

We each have our own personal "issues" with patience, we see people on this bbs with phenominal results and we want them NOW. But I'll bet those fantastic result people had to take it one step at a time.

I should have put this in Daily Dose of Motivation, but I think we all should ponder the wisdom of sprinting vs walking, and think about the tortoise, the hare, and all the other "one step at a time" idioms we hear...

best of luck...
