My husband and I have been working out for the past year. At the beginning we weren't as committed as recently. However, recently he has been complaining about dizziness. He has hypertension and atrial fibrilation (irregular heart beats). He at times does high intensity cardio and lifts weights like a their going out of style. I am really concerned and luckily his annual cardiologist appointment is today. Today they will hook up a heart monitor to him and record his heart rhythm for a 24 hour period. I am not really looking for medical advice but more so to see if anyone with heart or blood pressure problems has experienced the same thing. At first he didn't believe me when I told him the two are related. It was only when I found 2 articles on-line where two different doctors stated this very symptom is a red flag that he believed me. Now that he knows (or we suspect) he has this "Well might as well eat everything attitude". He's an all or nothing kind of guy. I told him that low to moderate exercise is good but high intensity can dangerously elevate his heart rate. He does monitor it while doing workouts but what the normal heart can handle is not necessarily what is good for him. Plus he never had an acclimation period he just through himself in full force. Well if anyone knows or has experience a similiar situation please shed some light. Thanks in advance!

Thanks Jade for the concern. I guess maybe it could be a virus like vertigo. However, I will feel better after the results tomm. I am glad that all who read this thread had no comments-this means you all have healthy hearts and that is great to know.

may i dont have any personal experience to tell you about..but i know that lifting weights can raise your blood pressure..and if you have heart problems you def should check with your doctor regarding aerobic activity as well...this isnt something for someone to fool around with..or for people like us, who have no medical knowledge,to really comment on...the doctor has to be the one to evaluate what his particular situation is...im glad he is going..i know you must be worried..:rose:

Good luck at the doc's - I'm glad he's got that appointment. No advice or experience on my part (other than go see the doc, which he's done) - but I'll add my support.
