I keep an old check book register in my purse with me so I can keep track of what I eat while I am away from home. It really helps out alot, then all I have to do is put it in fitday when I get home. Keeping a journal of everything......and I mean everything I eat has really helped to keep my on track and within my desired calorie intake.

Using your check book register is a great idea. I have been using the back of my address book as well. At first I thought the recording of food was was too tedious and placing too much emphaisis on food, then I read a book called Flip the Switch by Jim Karas. He actually talked about his clients complaints regarding recording their food. One individual actually said what I did and his reponse was, "Well, if you are overweight, you're already putting way to much emphasis on food." He's right. Now, I'm putting emphasis on food, but correctly. I've lost 37 pounds since the first of the year.

that is an excellent idea that I am going to try! I have lots of empty check registers here (I hate using them for my checks-LOL) so now I have a fun use for them. Thanks for the great tip! :o
