View Full Version : BAH! I give up until the holidays are over!

I hate the holidays! I have been eating junk food non stop since halloween. I started walking about 45 mins 5 days a week, a few weeks ago, and I'm not seeing any change :( I know it's because I'm eating so bad - fast food, cookies, candy - anything really :( I'm out of control ! Lol. Anyway, is working out right now benefiting me at all? or should I just wait until i can get the diet under control...luckily theres not too much time left til the first of the year.....thank god!

Exercise may only be a part of the equation, but, certainly, you should keep it up, if only for the sake of establishing a firm habit to exercise.

The exercise itself, will help somewhat to take the edge off over-eating urges, while giving your body some modest 'protective effect' from heart disease.

When portion control and food quality returns to healthy types for a dieter, at least you'll already have the exercise part of the equation down pat, and not have to restart that part of your program.

Sunshyne- just look at it this way, you would be in far worse condition and gain even more if you weren't working out at all.:laugh: i think we're all struggling right now.

Sunshine, I know the frustration, you are not alone.

If you have been consistently exercising that is fantastic, good for you!!!

Of course you want to keep at it, you are building a very healthy habit, one that you will want to maintain no matter what 'weight' you are, so keep it up!!!

Keep up the virgorous exercising and you should not get frusterated because you need to keep motivated don't let go of your goal that you're tring to achieve! Although I'm not dieting I just bought that new Oatmeal from Quaker Oatmeal called Weight Control it only has 1 gram of sugar but I guess I'll get use to eating it i bought the flavor Cinnamon the ther flavor was Banana Bread... But I hope to loose weight eating this damn Oatmeal because I'm at my wits end
Keep up the Motivation Sunshine:)

thanks for the response. I will keep up the exercising, I'm just frustrated lol! I started working out in hopes of losing a few lbs, and it's a bummer when you don't see it happening. Started feeling like I was working out for nothing, but I guess it could be worse if I wasn't working out right now. Going out to see family today, and I know I'm going to end up eating bad - figured I wll just enjoy myself & not worry too much about dieting. Can't wait til the first of the year, hopefully i can nail my new years resolution this time & take off some weight. Merry christmas all (jeez, can't believe it's tomorrow)

Girl you need to keep patient because you're going to loose the weight you just can't rush these things because they happen in their own time and place. I think you should start dieting after Christmas is over with like December 28th that would be a good day to start because all of the giggles will be out of your system:D Your Weight loss Goal was the same as mines but I changed it to 170 and my goal weight is 130 I hope I can reach it and I think we should be diet buddies Sunsshine How would you feel about that

if i get the urge to eat i just get an apple or a orange instead of a packet of crisp or anything else
