Hi all,
Has anyone used the Paul McKenna weightloss CD?
If so please post your experiences here. I have it, and it makes sense, but there are 1 or 2 things I want to clarify.
The CD says "When you feel hungry, eat." but warns against eating for emotional reasons such as boredom, sadness, etc.
I'm not really sure how to interpret that though. I assume boredom eating is eating when you're not hungry at all. But do any of you get actual, physical hunger pangs when you think you shouldn't? Basically although the advice seems clear, I'm still a little confused.
Also, can anyone help with what foods don't contain sugar?! Looking at the ingredients of things has been a real eye opener...sugar in bran flakes, for christs sakes... 8-|
Cheers guys.

I think the Paul McKenna CD is really good and has some very sound advice. When I've been using his CD regularly it has helped a lot. I think that it takes time to recognise hunger when you've got into the habit of over-riding it or of eating constantly - I know that I've done both of those things.
What Paul McKenna is saying is that if you only eat when you are really hungry then you will lose weight and, later, won't gain weight. One test as to whether it is real hunger or 'emotional hunger' is to think about the onset. Did you suddenly become aware of a strong need to eat (particularly a specific food)? This is likely to be emotional hunger. Has the hunger gradually, and slowly, built up over a period of time until you could quite happily eat anything that's put in front of you? This is likely to be real, physical hunger. Sorry that this is a bit of a ramble but I hope it's useful.
Wendy, Paul McKenna is very well known in the UK and his stuff is available through Amazon. He is a very well-qualified hypnotherapist and his CDs use hypnotherapy techniques. He deals with loads of other areas (e.g. smoking) as well as weightloss.

Hello Chronyx:
I've never heard of Paul Mckenna, well Michelle where can we buy this Paul Mckenna Weight Loss CD at ? Oh! see thats why I've never seen him because he's popular in the UK. But I've always felt Self help Tapes don't help me because I don't know what it does I guess it hypnotizes you to not eat so much. I need to get motivated to not eat so much
Well if you have anymore information on this man than Email me or PM me

Hi!
I have Paul McKenna's CD too, and did use it for a while. It was great at relaxing me and helping me sleep! I also found it was very weird that I could never recall the latter parts of the CD after I listened to it.
I agree with what michelle3 said about the hunger thing, as the CD is trying to help you recognize when you have a physical hunger. So many of us get disconnected from physical stimuli for eating, and only respond to emotional eating stimuli and can't tell the difference any more. That has certainly been my problem in the past.
I stopped using the CD in the end as it took up too much time to listen to, and didn't seem to be having too much impact on my willpower.
