Hi, Im new here but I thought I would share something with people that are going through what I have gone through and still am. I am a worst case senerio Yo Yo dieter. I am on my way down for the 6th time from obesity. I have never gone over 300 but my highest was in the 290s at 5.10 in height. Im a guy and really a small guy. I should be in a 32 waist weighing about 175 to 180 really but I know I wont make that now that I am as old as I am. So, I reached obesity again at 254 about 1 and half months ago. My cholesterol was over 300 and my LDL was over 200 so 3 doctors told me I was in serious danger of a heart attack. Well that did it for me. I have high blood pressure as well so I have decided that I am done with this horrible cycle. In the begging on my first weight losses I would starve myself a lot. I lost my Gall Bladder from doing this years ago. I have had other stuff happen as well in later drops from obesity. So now I am at it again and am smart now. I have control of it. I know the secret. So I felt I might share it with who ever and if it works for you well cool.

My diet:
All I eat is sugar free jello with Pinapple or mixed fruit that is in water or sweetened with Splenda. I eat 2 bowls a day. I am so used to it now that I serously love it. My favorite combinations are Orange jello and crushed pinapple and mixed fruit and mixed fruit jello. I would have never believed in all my life that I would ever like jello. Well I swear this Pizza holic actually likes Jello a lot. Its also good for you in so many ways.

I eat usually 1 meal several hours before I go to bed which is really important.
I only eat chicken with no skin or fat on it and breasts if I can afford it. I buy frozen California mix vegatables and I boil these in water. Season all that up and its real good.

I eat Salads with Tuna and a Tomatoe in it. I use fat free dressing.

I eat lean red beef sometimes instead of chicken.

Ok so I have been eating this way for about a month and a half and I have dropped 30 pounds. Now I did fast a couple of times for like a day and I think I did 2 days once. I try not to do it anymore.

I really believe that once you find food you like to eat that works at keeping you skinny dont ever stop. I know I cant. I am on my last ride.

So thats really it. Maybe it will help you
bye

Hi Yoyo and welcome to Diettalk.

Thank you for sharing your plan with everyone and congratulations on your impressive weightloss so far. I just wanted to say - and please don't be offended - that I'm just a little worried by the amount of food you are taking in. I might be reading it wrongly but you seem to be eating very few calories each day. It's just a thought, but perhaps this has got something to do with the yo-yo dieting you've described. I really don't want to put you off - and you've given your weightloss a tremendous boost - but perhaps you need to look at just how low your calorie intake is and make a few adjustments. Having a slightly higher daily calorie allowance will mean that you get to your goal a little bit more slowly but it might mean that you've got more chance of staying there.

Once again, please don't be offended by these comments - they are meant in the best possible way. And, as I said before, maybe I've misunderstood the amount of food you're eating.

Congratulations, once again, on your fantastic weightloss so far - keep up the good work.

Well like the subject says I am an experience dieter and a yo yo dieter too. The worst kind. Fortunately I have never made it to the numbers over 300. I dont even see how it is possible. I know what it feels like just shy of 300.

Well 2000 calories a day is fine for me. I feel good. I feel full a good part of the day. I go to sleep at night when I want to not stuffed.

Oh I know what I am doing. I know what the real problem is behind Obesity unless its genetic.

Its depression and replacement for Love and Physical affection. At least this is part of it. Yes there are those that just dont give a damn. Either way. I am 44 and being Obese wont cut it at my age and if you are not over 40 yet you will see. Your body cannot handle the weight at my age. It must come off for the rest of your life. So obviously I am looking at a style of eating that I am comfortable with that I will do for the rest of my life.

You know its nice to be able to go to bed and eat something and then go to sleep. Everyone does it and your not going to stop. So I eat Jello and a little fruit. You wont gain nothin.

Just for the record. The reason I have yo yo ed so many times is because of depression and failed relationships. I believe I have dont it to sort of punish myself subcontiously. I mean how can you ignore getting bigger and bigger when you have to buy bigger cloths.

Oh and getting pissed off about things is not dealt with by eating bad food. If I want to have chocalate I will it sugar free chocalate deserts. I watch calories like a hawk as well as carbs. Like I bought low carb low cal yogurt the other day and it was just as good as regular. That splenda sweetener is turning up in everything. I hope its ok.

So no you havent pissed me off. I feel real good stomach wise. My blood pressure may even be improving. I am waiting for my next blood test to see what my cholesterol is. I hope to have lost about 10 pounds by that time.

I like my new way of eating. Its healthy and when you get to your desired weight if you just eat the same types of foods you can eat more of them. That is what is so great about it. And that is just what Ill do.

We eat wrong and overeat because of some submerged psyochological problem. You have to overcome that first. And that is going to take the rest of your life. There is no excuse to eating fat ridden food. You tell me if you cook some chicken next time you can eat the skin on it much less the fat. It is gross. Just like a peice of red meat with marbly fat all through it. Look at it and realize its going in you and you will stop.

I am repulsed now by the intake of animal fat.

Cheese is the main problem. OMG I love cheese. its hard for me to say anything bad about it. Therefore I just dont eat it anymore. I am forgetting it exists.

In my opinion once you get in your 40s that is it. You must lose the weight forever. It may even be a little to late for me. I dont know if the arterie damage can be reversed.

Good luck and I hope I help people like me.

I am now at 198. I need to loose about 15 pounds to be where I want to be. OMG I cant believe at the age of 44 I can still be skinny. I see the fat going away everywhere. I bought my first new pair of pants yesterday and people that I know are seeing how much I have lost. I guess I have lost almost 60 pounds. I probably have lost 60.
I came back here mainly because me loosing weight and feeling good about it is about the only thing in my life right now I am happy about. I think I explained my new relationship with sugar free jello and fruit with splenda ONLY. I eat 1 box every day. So that gives my body 2 cups of water as well every day. I never used to drink water so this is also a good thing. I have now found really good combinations of fruit with the jello.

Cranberry jello with carb clever pears or pears with splenda is so good.
Orange sugar free jello with crushed Pineapple(spenda) is like the main one.
Mixed Fruit jello with Mixed tropical fruit in splenda is real yummy.

As insane as this might sound I swear to God I dont get sick of eating it. I prepare 1 box and then make 4 cup servings. I think this is psychologically good cause it makes you eat one then you wait a little while and you get up and get another. You dont just down all 4 at once usually.

I have gotten a little more serious about my main meal. I eat chicken and beef with Green beans or Spinach. I have found that Green beans as bland as they are they work and if you just get used to it they are fine.

I read on here how people are tempted by food and they off their diets. I know the feeling. BOY do I know it. Just the other day I was going to blow it and I got dressed at about 4 in the morning and was going to get a big bag of bite size snickers. It was like I was taken over by something but thanks to God I walked out the door and it was raining and I looked at the rain and said to myself is this worth getting all wet for? So I didnt go.

it is amazing though that 1 splurge shows up on the scale to as much as 5 pounds and then you spend like a week just to get back where you were.
Anyway to anyone who read this far thanks for being interested.

Honestly I didnt feel welcome here so I didnt come back until now. Its mostly women here which well is fine with me. :). But I guess a guy just doesnt fit well here or something.

I have my diet under complete control and understand the life commitment now. I know the psychology of it. It is so unfortunate that some people can just eat and eat and eat and they never gain a pound but people like me gain easy and when you say lets eat pizza that mean an entire pie myself. If I get a apple pie lets say I dont cut a slice out of it, I take the entire pie to a table and start eating it.

I dont understand exactly why I have this eating disorder but I know how to beat it. You beat it the same way you would quitting cigarettes. You just have to realize that certain foods are not meant to be eaten. Just like cigarettes are not meant to be inhaled.

I am going to give away all my size 40 jeans and pants this time and I will never ever lose it again. Like my name says yoyodone means no more up and down for me. It will kill you doing that. I lost my gall bladder from it.

So if anyone needs any help from someone who knows more than you can imagine about food and what is necessary to really losing it and keeping it off at the age of 44 I have finally figured it out. I hope I am not too late

Hi YoYo

I guess I hang out in dudes most so I missed your first posts. You are doing great and at a young age of 44 it is no where near to late for you, I am let me think aaaaa 55 righjt now and have been learning hoe to do it right. For me alot of it was drinking beer so have stopped that for good and working on proper eating habits. I have a long ways to go but some day I will get there.

There are a few good dudes here and a heck of alot of great ladies, they have helped me loads as I have worked to change my life. Without them I think I would not be doing as good as I am while I know what to do I am not at the stage where I can do it all alone. I need a swift kick at times and the people here do that for me.

I hope you do hang around what you have been doing is great for others to see. Keep it up and you will be at goal soon and then ready to stay at your new weight.

Anything I can do here to help I will gladly do.

Take care.

hi! congratulations on the weight loss!:1stprize: what a big difference 2 months can make! i'm not a big fan of the artificial sweeteners but what ever worked for you i agree if you where so severely obese. i'm happy you came back to let us know how you did. more people need to hear about successful stories of weight loss working. i think for you the challenge will be keeping it off. especially since you have a history of yoyo dieting. maybe hanging around some male supporters in the dudes forum will help you with that.:)

First of all a wonderful congrats to you for all your hard work that has paid off. I am a 23 years old female but also stand 5'10 and recently stood on the scale and almost died at the numbers staring back at me. Last Saturday when I went to LA weight loss for the first visit I knew I was out of shape, overweight and unhealthy but 290.6lbs.... I didnt want to believe it. I knew I had to take the first steps to a better me. I started on the plan and 6 days later have lost 6.8 lbs. I wish you the best of luck in all of your endeavours and hopefully you;ve found the key to your success in jell-o :D Hats off
