i need help staying motiveated during my diet. what will make me stick to my diet? I've heard of some people take pictures of themselves, how do they do that. is it like a before and after picture.is there any other things you could do.
My progress pics are in my gallery... they motivate me ALOT. I took one when I first realised I needed to loose weight then I've taken them on my goal dates, I've only got one pic left to take now so I better make it.. heh.
I also have a "fatty pic" of myself on the fridge door, that one helps.
Other things.. hmm small short goals. Also goals that don't necesserly state weight, I have a goal to be able to do 20 pushups for example. I still can't eventhough I've been doing weight training for months, lol.
Personalize to fit yourself :)

hi the things I do to motivate myself is to hang up a calendar and put an X on all my good days and i circle it if it happened to be a bad day, this tends to help me its the 1st thing I do in the morning so my mind is focused on being possitive, keep track of exercise and eating keeping a journal helps WW point system is a very good plan to follow because you eat normal food what you like,my food still has to taste well for me to continue on I don't think its so much as to what you eat as to how much you eat,I can still enjoy my favorites and I still lose well with this way of eating, take 1 day at a time you will get there the road at times will seem long but is so worth all of the effort you put in good luck to you and to a better year!!!!
I also journal my exercise miles on my treadmill for the year. I also I eat 4 or 5 meals a day and that helps me resisit binging cause of hunger.
I find that keeping a journal helps immensely, and writing down everything you're going to eat for the day is a must for me. Also, identify the trigger foods or activities that take you off your diet. Pasta is a trigger food for me, so I avoid it as much as humanly possible. If you have to eat something while you watch TV, get another activity to do with your hands or get low-cal popcorn or something.
Pictures definitely help. If you don't want to hang them on your fridge, keep them somewhere where you can look at them a few times a day--like right before meals.

I really like the idea of keeping track of your treadmill miles for the year. I'll try to do that this year. Thanks for the idea!

the best thing i find to help me stick to my diet, is i look at the food tempting me, pizza in my case, and i remember how sad it makes me feel to be overweight and how despite how good it tastes now, in a few hours i wont remember the flavor anyways, just how fatty/lean my meal was. so when you think of it as taking a step in the right direction it really helps. also if you fall into your temptation, try to learn from it. like how did i fall into this temptation and how can i use my knowledge now to help me in the future. no one is perfect, and dieting we seem to take 2 steps foward one step back sometimes, but if you remember everyone here is rooting for you i think you can do just fine hiddenbeauty.
