Did anyone gain over the holidays, and if so, did you plan to? How do you intend to deal with the weight gain? Or were you perfect and even managed to lose some weight?

I ask the question because I had a big gain after maintaining sucessfully for over a year. So I am an aaaaarg! :( when I had expected to gain a few and lose a few pounds afterwards.

I'm going to step up my exercise programme and try to shift in months what it took me a week to accumulate. Hooray for Christmas. :o

Christmas is the only time of the year that I indulge in food and drink LOL. I figure that one has to live once and a while and having 2 or 3 days a year that you eat or drink a little more is OK. I don't worry about gaining a few extra pounds over Christmas as a week or two after I'm back to where I started before Christmas. Just my :2cents: :D

I did gain over the holidays. The last two weeks to be exact. But I'm not too worry because I know when I get back on plan the extra weight will be gone.

Yes, I did gain 4 lbs. over the holidays, but have already lost 2 back off. Just gotta get back on track.

Over the holidays I also noticed that my consumption of fat was way up percentage-wise. And I really didn't feel very good physically.......felt tired and achey, and had an upset stomach for a few days afterwards. Eating too much of the wrong foods is definitely not want I want for myself.

Next holiday.......valentines day. Hopefully I'll lose some more weight before then. And hopefully none of my well-meaning friends or family will be sticking goodies under my nose. I am so weak-willed. :o

I stuck with my plan MOST of the time during the holidays. But I still had a 3 lb. gain in the last 2 weeks. X-( I'm just back to my regular routine and it will be gone before long. But it's so discouraging that what takes one day to put on, takes a whole week to get off! It's SO not fair. :sigh:

Yes.....its alot easier to eat 3500 calories, but not so easy to cut 3500 calories from the diet, and certainly not in one day.

3.5 pound gain.
Did I expect to gain weight?
Actually no I really tried watching but I guess slipped in too many sweets.
I think my main thing is with the kids home the last 2 weeks not doing my exercising.
However they go to school again Monday and I am getting back into my routine!!!

I was hoping not to gain, but I'm ten pounds up, which I'm sure is mostly from salt...hope so, anyway.

Like Doowadnil, I didn't feel very good after eating foods that I know aren't good for me, especially those high in fat or containing a lot of very processed ingredients.

Back on plan now, though, so I'm hoping to see a loss soon.

I weighed the same the day before Thanksgiving and on New Year's Day. I went up and down through there, but only had a few days of overindulging, so I was able to maintain. This is the first year I've been doing this that I didn't gain over the holidays. I think I was able to do it this year because I'm seeing a personal trainer, and I wanted to be accountable to her.

I know I have gained, even without getting on the scale. But on Monday morning it's back to my regular routine. Will start getting up early and getting on the treadmill and going to do a bit of taebo too. Have slacked off over the last 2 weeks and I can feel it. Haven't had the energy that I usually have.

I was far from perfect, but wound up with a loss anyway. Exercise helped I think. To tell the truth, I've had more trouble in the last 2 weeks with leftover holiday visitors the last two weekends...having guests is certainly my stumbling point. The last visitor goes home Wednesday morning - and then back to real life!

My eating was far from great as I was staying away from home (with my fiancees parents) and it was kinda hard to choose what I wanted when it was just put in front of me but I tried to eat smaller amounts of the bad things I was given lol. I even saw a loss of 2lbs - big surprise for me! It's been after the holidays I've been ahving trouble. Maybe because i got used to eating a little of what I wanted - now I want to eat a lot of what I want! oops!

I was 'good' through all the holidays because its just me & hubby now, which makes it easier than when my daughter, her hubby & 5 small kids were here. So, since I was so driven, I planned for small 'splurges' and still had a weight loss every week. I figure, NEXT year, I'll drop an extra 10 lbs. below my goal weight and allow myself to be a LITTLE naughty without worrying too much. (with continued weekly weigh ins so I'm not ignorant of what's going on with my weight). :)

:frosty: despite going to california in november and having radiation treatments for breast cancer, my mom still did a lot of holiday baking. :snow:
