Three bits of advice I came across:
1. A diet lapse can be your ally. You can learn so much more from trial and error than trial and success.
2. Don't underestimate self belief. Successful slimmers learn to control their weight and recognise what they achieve.
3. Losing weight is like a happy marriage. It takes commitment and daily investment of care.
I especially like the third one. Because losing weight/maintaining means that I care for and respect myself, like marriage means that I care for and respect my husband. Tough love!
