But if you are doing 2 hours a day 7 days a week. You need to take time to rest. I also would add weight training to any workout in order to gain muscle which burns more calories then fat. Rabbit 01-09-06, 05:45 PM Anything is better than nothing - but I find the bike is not the most efficient way to burn the calories. But again - something, anything better than nothing at all. LadyWendy 01-09-06, 07:09 PM Riding a bike is excellent for cardio. I think it would be great if you added in some weight training of some sorts 2 or 3 times a week. bowesy2005 01-10-06, 03:40 AM i got all the weight equipment in my garage , and i used to do weight training alot but then i decided to do cardio and forgto completley about my weights , but over the past few weeks iv decided i want to start lifting again in my house i have got a spare bedroom and there is no room in my garage to set my weights up so my dad said yes hell help me set it all up but that was 2 weeks ago lol and last night i did 145 minutes on my bike r-D 01-10-06, 11:38 AM .... last night i did 145 minutes on my bike Cardio's great for lifting the spirit while burning some calories. For some of us, it's also an excellent appetite suppressant, as well as making our bodies generally more healthy so that we've a better sense of what and how much to eat. But exercise is the smaller part of dieting, and is unlikely to overcome an over-eating habit all by itself. Though, given the choice between starting with dieting or exercising, I'd opt for starting into exercising first, followed by adding the dieting role. rD crazy2 01-10-06, 11:52 AM My only comment, other than good for you for exercising, is that with all the biking you might want to do something different for cardio once in a while. They say our bodies get used to doing the same thing over and over and then don't burn as efficiently. So maybe bring back the biking to just 40-60 minutes a day and then try something else, your weights, running, tennis, football, pilates, etc. Keep up the good work. bowesy2005 01-10-06, 01:46 PM thanx for the advice everyone , i just stick a dvd on then stop the dvd for eastenders then keep watching my dvd after eastenders has finished lol |
