View Full Version : 31 Days...
Bride2Be 01-10-06, 12:31 PM Here I am a month before the wedding and yearning to loose a measly 10 pounds. I use to have such self control! I use to loose weight pretty easily because I was so focused and determined! Of course I got too caught up in it and it lead me to an eating disorder. I am over that. I am ready to loose a few pounds and get this body of mine in shape for myself! For a self esteem boost! For my health and for my soon-to-be husband, sigh, I love him. So here we go. Let’s see how many pounds I can healthily loose in 31 days…
jenaboo24 01-11-06, 10:15 AM Dont stress about it, your future husband will love you for you. Obviously he already does! Enjoy your day! I stressed about mine as well, but it was great and I can look back now and see that I was loved at my heaviest because he still married me!
dec1905 01-11-06, 10:43 AM My husband married me at my heaviest too. Now that I think about it, I'm glad I was the heavest then because I know he really loves me :D
Good luck!
Bride2Be 01-11-06, 11:38 AM Good point! My fiancé tells me all the time that he loves me just the way I am. I guess I just need to start loving myself. I keep obsessing about how I use to look and how skinny I use to be. Pretty silly of me really.
Hi bride,
Glad you came to realize that. I was thinking that 10 pounds lost won't show a whole lot, although you might find some things a little looser. I also was thinking that just getting active and getting some exercise and fun would make the biggest difference, you will lose a bit, tone a bit, and get some great colour in your cheeks!!!
Have fun planning the wedding and enjoying the festivities!!!
Bride2Be 01-11-06, 01:39 PM My fiancé and I go to the gym together. Sad thing is we both use to go more often separately before we got a Gold’s Gym pass together. We usually make it about 3 times a week. I need to step it up and get their on my own a few more days.
10 pounds isn’t much but I only have a month before the wedding. I also am not a heavy girl. I weigh 130 and am shooting for my ideal weight of 120/115. I wear anywhere from a size 8 (only Old Navy jeans, I love there sizing) to 12 (depending on the brand). I am not super heavy but I am not skinny either. I think 10 pounds is just about right.
I need to focus on getting more work outs in and eating healthier. The eating portion is what really gets me. I love food!!
Pamela1224 01-11-06, 01:48 PM I was thinking the same thing that crazy was...10 lbs probably won't show a lot... if it's a self esteem builder you are looking for...why not give yourself some positive reinforcement... instead of beating yourself up over 10lbs... - not to belittle what is important to you.
If you start to take care of yourself mentally maybe you'll find the will power to get that 10lbs off!!
just a suggestion!! ..
ps..congrats on your marriage!!!
whooshwhoops 01-11-06, 03:27 PM Hello Bride, I know you can do this! Maybe you need Pilates or another things like this to toning up and build a sexy shape? I don't like Pilates, but I realize I need that to tone up my body. I lose some pounds, now I feel like a water filled ball... hihihi... So I bought a Inch Loss Pilates and plan to do it twice a week... :)
Congratz for the wedding... I am at the same age with you but I am not as lucky as you are... :)
lisad00 01-11-06, 03:55 PM if the dress fits. let is go and just try to maintain and forget about the scale numbers. Just eat within reason and exercise as a stress reliever. You will have so many last mintue issues with your wedding that you can't have a good time.
Bride2Be 01-11-06, 04:03 PM Pilates! I have never tried them but my mother does Pilates all the time. Good idea. It will be something new which will give my body a kick in the butt and get me out of my routine. Thanks for the suggestion. I am a stress case, it will hopefully help keep me calm and cool.
I do have a lot to do. I need to get my eating under wraps more than working out. I’m going to be cooking for two soon and need to learn how to eat a little of everything. I am very picky and have a ton of “off limits” foods.
Pamela1224 01-11-06, 08:51 PM pilates are awesome! they are not only good for the body but really good for the mind- for me i feel they settle my mind and i can focus better on me- for me they also make me more aware of my body and my muscles..because the exercises are so focused.
Bride2Be 01-19-06, 12:10 PM So I weighed myself yesterday and today. According to my scale I lost 3 pounds in one day. Right. Perhaps water weight? Anyway, I am not going to count it unless it reads the same thing tomorrow.
The gym has been none existent the last 2 days. Last night was acceptable because I see my councilor after work, had to go and say goodbye to my car (the are totaling it) and clean it out, then I went to get a massage since I am still sore and hurting from the accident. The night before though my fiancé was just having a bad day so we didn’t go. I am torn on days like that. He stays with me when I am having a bad day too. I just wish we’d be more consistent on going to the gym. I guess a week or so of recoup for my body is a good thing. We are planning on going tonight though before we have a bunch of friends over. Hurray!!
