With so many different diet plans out there how did you decide upon the one you are using?

I did this before and lost 80+ lbs. I decided to use healthy eating and excersize because that is something I can do for the rest of my life. I will have times when I eat a little more or less, but that is part of the "game".

I am counting calories because I know that calories are energy. If you use more calories than you eat, you lose weight, but if you eat more calories than you burn off...you gain weight.

I also exercise to help lose weight, get my body toned, and get my heart in shape.

I'm very new to dieting and my dieting ways may change...but this seems to be working for now.

To be honest I rather sweat, push, kick etc. then count calories...aaaah! LOL
I just don't have the discipline.
In my family we're all big eaters but everyone had to pick a sport growing up.
So in order to succeed in the sport we knew what we had to eat and what we shouldn't and that stuck.
I like to enjoy my food so I do...but everything in moderation.

My workouts are what measure my food intake, not the scale.
If I feel weak during my long runs for example, I know I need to increase something....if I PR and I'm 5lb heavier, then I rather stay 5lb heavier!

Healthy food is my policy.

I've tried so many diets in the past, low fat, low carb, etc. This time around I decided to do the most basic diet I know of, and one that I know I can stick to for the rest of my life, and that is eating fresh healthy foods that are low in calories and high in all the good nutrients. Simple as that :) And so far so good!

Since diets don't work and you gain all your weight back when you go off of it; I thinks its best to find a plan you can live with for the rest of your life. I go to Tops for support and to keep my honest with my weighins.

I chose calorie counting, once I found fitday.com. It does the counting for me. I need something that I could just eat what I normally eat, but it helps me keep down the amount I eat. I also want to make some great healthy habits that will carry me through life.

I also need to exercise to get the weight moving. I love working out at the gym, especially on the elliptic. But I only have that for about 6 months of the year, so need to be consistent with walking for the other months of the year.
