I find something kind of Interesting. Something that makes you go Hmmmmm!
You often hear the opinion that everyone is different and the need to find out what is right for them when it comes to weight loss. (Which I mainly agree with) Thus we all hear everybody's story about what works for them!
The Interesting Part is that statistics show that (I think) 90% of dieters are not successful and Put anyweight they lost back on within a year. ( Or something like that)
So does that mean when we listen to everybody's story that 90% of them are actually wrong about whats right for them???????
Hmmmmmmm!
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I think the reason that about 90% put it back on, because they go back to their old "bad" habits. I think everyone "knows" what is right for them, it is the matter of doing it, ie. eating right, exercising, water. So many people get away form doing this after a period of time. Most people "know" that they need to eat healthy, exercise, and drink water. But, they just want to do what they want to do, and sometimes let their health fall by the wayside. So, in a sense I think you have something Piper, but I think it is more of people really taking action, not necessarily that they don't know what is right for them! :D
Sure does make you think though....good topic! HMMMMMM.....

You bring up a good point!
I just finished writing an article that's similar to this topic....
50% of people that start a workout routine quit within the first 6 months..not good!!
There are soooo many things involved I think. I think it's a matter of proper planning. Based on research it seems that we might be misled as to what we "think" is right for us (but not always like ajmarble metioned). There are a lot of things that factor into wether or not we'll be successful, some even out of our control.
How we go into it is crucial, there are so many things we need to take into consideration when we're trying to figure out what's RIGHT for us.
Motivation is also a big factor and it's not something we're born with.
We don't often ask ourselves why it's so hard not to walk infront of a car, or jump off a cliff do we?LOL Because we're CONVINCED it's going to hurt is, we've made up our minds. The same goes for those who eating healthy and working out has become part of their lives, they don't think twice about it, they just do it. Part of the problem is that subconsiously (sp?) we might not be CONVINCED we NEED to workout out, lose weight etc. if we were, we'd be doing it as easily and as fast as jumping out of a car's way!
Just a thought.
