this weekend I was going to try a detox, not for weight loss but to flush toxins instead, my knowledge on this is to consume only clear organic broths and that's it. I take a liquid vitamin everyday and will still take that.
does anyone have any info on this? know what I can consume?
thanks

i don't even know the point...so if anyone can tell me why to do this...it would be appreciated! :)
I've never been interested in this, but have a friend who has done it. This is the company that she did it through.

I consider her a health nut -- she believes in homeopathic remedies and that doing a detox helps her cleanse her body, but she doesn't do it for weight loss.

hmm...sounds strange...I got kind of lost reading the article...what do you do? just not eat for a day or so...drink water maybe?
kind of confizzled here...is it worth doing?
It can be done in a one visit session or you can purchase a liquid concoction that you can drink over a 2-3 day period. Eden's Garden has a store here in Atlanta and it sells all sorts of drinks with various healthful benefits (allergies, energy, etc.). This link is just to their colon cleansing program.

peaches- i have done a detox before and have found them great for getting rid of candida and parasites. i wish more people were aware of parasites in their bodies. i believe mine were contracted while i was in mexico. i had one girlfriend in oregon who put her teenage son on a detox (he was living on sugars, carbs and meat) and gave him wormwood and cloves after months of trying conventional medicine to rid him of pinworms. after a week he had no more worms in his stool and he wasn't having the mood swings he had for months. you seem to be at a healthy weight and fit enough to do a detox if you want to. one caveat, beaware there are a bunch of quacks out there trying to sell detox/cleanse products so investigate what detox you wish to try.

if you don't mind me asking littleitaly what detox did you do, because i don't really want to have to put a bunch of random stuff in my body that I really don't have to from as you put it the quacks out there.
if anyone else has an experience with a detox please share it

Is it kind of the same as fasting...?
I'm still confused...

in a way I think it is, but it shouldn't be used as a way to lose weight because as soon as you go back to eating normally the weight will come back on just as with any sort of fad diet. this is a way to flush toxins out of your body
there is a lot of information on ivillage on detox diets

i like dr. sidney macdonald baker's detox, not a quack and has done some wonderful work in holistic medicine. you can buy the book on amazon(Detoxification and Healing). i think it's best to stay away from the cleanse kits because you can do a program that's free and get the same results. i also prefer the cleanse and detox systems that require no fasting. i've been reading about the 2 day food combining detox by Kathryn Marsden. that looks like a great detox for starters! i honestly think that if anyone just bought the "fit for life" food combining book and stuck with the program strictly for a month all their parasites and candida would be under control (plus they would lose weight naturally).
