In the Following picture is what I typically will eat from Waking up in the morning til Dinner time.
With out trying to analyze each item look at the picture and then post here how many calories you think that would be. Also if you think that it is a lot of food or not a lot of food.

Later I will post the actual nutritional Values of the Food.

Let me add that the bowl of cereal does not have milk in it..but when it is eaten it would have milk...so when I caculate the calories there would be milk in it! the Two smaller bowls are Oatmeal with Whey Protein added.

I am confused by your initial email Pipermac (not that it really has to do with the game.....), but is your dinner in the picture? Or does the picture only include breakfast, lunch and snacks? Just wondering......

My guess is going to be: 900 calories.:D

I would say 800 - 1000 calories -

as to your question is it a lot of food? well - I guess it all depends on what your intake goal is for the day and what your needs are. so that is a hard question .........

By the way I LOVE your kitchen counter top ! lol :D

I'm guessing around 900 - 1000 calories in the picture. If you eat a normal dinner, to me this is a lot more than I eat by that time of day. If you have a small dinner, then I think it is a great size. (I'm saying it is a lot of food, not just a lot of calories. It's amazing how much you can really eat if you make the right choices, which it looks like you are doing.) Some people prefer eating most of their calories/food during the day, others like to save them up for that evening meal. I am one of those who tries to do about a 200 cal breakfast, 300 cal lunch, 500 cal supper, and leave about 200 for snacks or variences in each meal.

OK :)

The Amount is.........................................................................................................................................................................................Around 975! I honestly thought more people would overestimate! since one of the items is extrememly less caloreis then you would expect The Pasta Noodles with tomato sauce and Chicken is only 200 calories even though it is a very big portion. The Trick is that I was using Yam Noodles (Konnyaku) In which the noodle themselves were only 40 calories. I though for sure that would cause more people to Overestimate. Here is the Breakdown: Noodles 200 Cal, Each Oatmeal Cup 100cal, 2 Big Peppers, 100 Calories, Asparagus 25 cal, Zone Bar 200 cal, Flax plus cereal with 2% milk(actually kefir) 200 cal. = 975 calories.

hmmm....that's a tough one...hmmm....950?

I'd say we have a WEINER! uh, WINNER! :D WayToGo, Nerelda!! whoo hoo!

I have to ask where we buy these LOW CALORIE noodles... YAM noodles?? What does the pkg. look like (could you post a pic of them?) Thanks!! I would love to look into them for myself. Is that 40 calories for a 2 oz. (dry) serving? (that's the normal serving size of pasta products)

Oh, also... are you SURE that bell peppers are that high in calories??? I really didn't think they were!

Nerelda
04-01-06, 08:45 PM
Wow! I am truly surprised that I was so close to this! I thought you had me fooled to be honest. the noodles were easy for me to guess. I grew up in an italian family, so we've done a lot with pasta. I can usually tell when it's regular pasta or wheat pasta. :)

I'm with GotFruit, where in the world do you get those noodles from?

Pipermac
04-02-06, 12:33 AM
But they are neither Regular nor Wheat Pasta. The are more like Rice Noodles. but are made from Konjac Flour which is pretty much all Fiber.

Here are some pictures:
http://rnmacleod.ca/images/noodle1.jpg
http://rnmacleod.ca/images/noodle2.jpg

Notice the nutrional info....One Serving is half the pack (I had 2 servings in my other pic) It says 55Cal per serving, but notice the carbs and the fiber...13 grams of carb...but of that 8.1 is fiber...that leaves 4.9 carb per serving...or 9.8 for the whole pack which would only be 39.2 Calories.

Also check out my main page and my weightloss section...It is a work in progress.

WOW!! this looks like something that I'd be able to get in any of the asian food depts. in any store over here!!! 7 pieces = 140 g. = 55 calories! TERRIFIC!
How do they taste?? I figure they cook up REAL fast! Probably like saimin noodles, just pour boiling water over and in a few short mins, drain and they're good to go (yes??) I WILL check this out! I miss pasta! I still eat it, but in small amounts and giving up plenty of calories for it (which i resent, LOL)
Thanks SO MUCH for sharing, Piper!!

As I stated...really only 20 calories...as the packaging actually includes Fiber calories...which you dont count.

They dont have any taste...they take the flavour of whatever you put them with. But the Texture is a bit Rubbery and may take getting used to. I personally buy it by the Case as I eat them almost daily.

Nothing to Cook...just heat them up however you like. They are packaged in water...you just rinse them off and heat em up.

Online you can get them at Konjacfoods.com I have tried theirs but They say theirs actually dont have any calories...since it is made with just pure fiber and water. I am not actually sure where these ones get the 20 calories from.

Thanks for the info! I'm headed to the grocery store this morning, so I'm going to see if they have these. I frequently make stops in the oriental foods section since that's pretty much all my brother eats. From looking at the photo, I thought you were going to say that it was Spaghetti Squash. :)
