I have been getting frustrated at clothes shopping lately. I try to avoid it, but I have got to have some capris for camping. (I'm not yet ready to do anything in shorts but sleep.) I'm wearing around a size 16 or XL now and I am having so much trouble finding affordable clothes that are remotely flattering or in style.
So, where do you shop? Any good stores to recommend? I used to be able to find a lot of my capris at a store here called Goody's, but I didn't have any luck today. I also went to Cato, and found plenty of cut tops, but no capris except for the jeans type.
I may try Bealls and JC Penney's this afternoon. Often they are expensive, but occasionally you run across a good sale.

I like Lane Bryant for some things, but only on sale -- otherwise they are too expensive!

The Deb and Fashion Bug have really cute plus sized clothes...and really cute non-plus sized clothes...hehe...
I usually buy my pants from fashion bug because they're decently priced and they have a large variety of styles, I actually just bought a really cute pair of capris from there for $30.
Also check out Old Navy, they have a wide range of sizes and some cute styles (plus they're pretty inexpensive)

I've never heard of Fashion Bug. Closest Old Navy is over an hour away. We are pretty limited here in our small town.

Fashion Bug is owned by Charming Shoppes, who also own Lane Bryant and Catherine's clothing stores. Fashion Bug is a really nice place to usually be able to find some really cute clothes at decent prices, but I would not reccomend buying intimates from them. Lately, their intimates have just been falling apart for me. Their clothes though, are really nice.
Here's their store locator. I know they have several all over the country, including Texas.

I have been shopping at Ross for yrs. I like their prices and huge selection. Plus you still get Namebrand quality clothes.
A note to women who have baby fat they are trying to lose. I found at Ross a brand called TYTE in the JUNIOR department. This was roomy in my over sized belly unlike regular jeans but nice and snug in the legs, My legs were still sort of thin, like most women just after baby.. Meaning it fit a post baby body and they were very flattering! I also found with these jeans that I wore 2 sizes smaller because I had to buy larger jeans to fit around my waist but then they were huge in the legs. They had the trendy styles flared legs low rise.. for those of you who may not like low rise, I found that the belt area ran just across the largest part of my tummy- Baby Pouch area and covered it, held it in better then jeans that sit just above it letting my stomach pooch outward.. these jeans TYTE in JUNIORS held in my bad areas while accenting my better areas.. no I don't sell them..LOL!! I just have found them and recommended them to several friends who also had babies and they THANKED ME!!
