Changing things up. I think maybe your body will become accustomed to a certain diet that you may be on and that diet will not be nearly as effective as it had been at the beginning. So I'm trying a 0 carb diet for 7 days and then go back to the diet I was originally on.

Realize by doing this you will lose a lot of water in that week and then gain most of it back the week after. your Glycogen stores can weigh as much as 4-5lbs. By eating zero Carbs you will completely deplete your glycogen.

Eating zero Carbs is not a good thing to do...your body needs carbs..particularily your Brain.

You could maybe cut breads back by half or something?? This would probably help and you'd still be getting the basic food group of carbs.

danze68-you cant! even veggies,proteins have trace carbs. you would have to liquid fast on water and broth for a week.ha!ha!:laugh: i wouldnt recommend it but if you do it and feel ill it's likely glycogen depletion and vitamin depletion (especially A, D,E,B vits.) so grab a banana and eat some wheat bread and veggies fast if you start feeling dizzy and sick. remember what you are doing will literally starve your brain which needs sugars to survive (as pipermac pointed out).

Carbs are what makes your brain function. Do you actually mean zero carbs, or do you means smarter carbs such as in fruit and veggies?

Hope it works for you Bigslick - my Doctor would have a cornia LOL - I have high cholesterol so I'm not allowed eggs at all and not much red meat

that's crazy! you need the vitamins. you need A,K(potassium),C,D,B's of all kind,E, and countless others. you would have electrolyte depletion, even if you drank gallons of water. you wont even get all of the essential minerals with eating just that. you would also lack the needed sugars for the brain and literally shrink it. there are documented cases of people going into coma from this. do you think that's a good idea?? how can eating a stack of broccoli,steamed kale,peppers,toms,carrots,apples,oranges,bananas harm you anyhow?

Amen to all the other posters have said! Starving your body of its preferred source of energy is, I am sorry to be blunt, crazy. Ok, Little Italy already said that but it bears repeating. Your brain, muscles (including vital little items like your, ah, heart) all need carbs to function. I'd hate to be out on the road when you happened to be driving past with no carbs fueling your brain ...

Amen to what the other posters have said..and by looking at your profile not that you are old but you are old enough to know that this type of dieting is going to ruin your metabolism for sure..one week 0 carbs then carbs..no way lady..this plan just is not going to work long term...So many people here do this silly plans then stop dieting all together and gain it all back and more to boot...Think about what you are doing..Bodies do not run on bacon and eggs

Fruits and Veggies are low in calories and general don't over extend any diet plan.

I agree with everyone else, but if you are determined to do this you could really hurt yourself. I know you only think, its a week, but for your body thats a really long time. You know the trick to effective dieting is balance in your nutrician and exercise. By cutting your body off of something that it desperately needs you are honestly starving yourslef and mostly your brian. Though I hope you don't go through with this plan, let us know how it goes if you do, and if you start feeling bad eat something with cards in it. Pay attention to your body, especially if you are going to do this.
