anyone venturing on to this diet? I keep buying the books as fast as they come out....with a few exceptions. I had picked this one up once before..but didn't get it. Then after watching the Tyra Banks show, they had 3 different diet people on....each got a team of two, and then they showed the results. The fat smash team did the best as a whole, the "raw foods diet" (no one I think I will buy) one did really good, and the other did okay......Jillian Michaels diet team did not do good at all, and I felt bad for Jillian.....the two ladies she had to work with, didn't really follow the program that well.....they did lose alittle but not much. Dr. Ian the author of the fat smash diet....kind of ribbed her and I think it was alittle much...as they said....almost any diet works..if the person doing it follows it......which I believe, I ahve done many a diets in my life..and lost on them.......until I quit....so anyway..just wondering if anyone is doing or has any thoughts on this diet??

Hey there!

Right before i joined diettalk, I tried Fat Smash- because of Celebrity Fit Club.

I did the nine day detox, or whatever it is called, and lost nine pounds. Well, I knew this wasn't something I could (or wanted) to continue with. So, after the 9 days I just tried to watch what I ate. After 4 days off, I had gained 10 pounds back!

So, I think if you can stick with it, it will likely stay off. But, you obviously just lose water weight at first.

I decided no more diets, joined diet talk and have been calorie counting since. It has really worked for me and is something I can stick with!

I guess once you can stick with it, it isn't a diet anymore, but a lifestyle!

So, if it is a way of eating you can live with, I say do it!

Good luck!

-Kristen :)

Hey Kristen...I will say, I am on day two, and it isn't easy. I think you are right when you say...give up the diets...and just make healthy choices. There is a fatsmash website, forums, recipes, etc. There are a lot of people that are really into doing this diet. I am going to plug along, and see if I can hang in there with the detox.........see what happens. I am glad you posted though...and I appreciate your feedback and thoughts.

The big fear with any diet is the gaining back plus.......again as you said..it has to be a life style change.....sometimes I wonder if I can actually make the change for the rest of my life........hope to.

Have a good night...

Hiya Barb,

I have the Fat Smash Diet Book I bought it a few months ago and I thought it was a really good book I did the Detox a few times drop between 4-6lbs during detox and I was excited that it was working, But then when I went off the detox and started counting calories all that weigh came back, Personally that isnt for me...

Good Luck to You Though,

Cathy

Hey Deja moo & Cathy,

Seems like so many diets these days, work that way........of course my problem is usually giving up and going back to old habits. It is really hard to do this..when you really like food...as I do. But I really need to do something, I am feeling very crappy these days....so I will plug along here and see how I do. See if it makes me make more healthy choices in the future. I will be glad after these 9 days...and i can add some meat in.....so far I am on day 3......6 to go.....then we will see how it goes....since I have a lot to lose, maybe that will work in my favor for just eating less and healthier. I am getting that is what this diet it about..portions and healthy foods. It is just hard.

Cathy..good WW is working for you....I can do good on WW too. I think the best thing about WW is you can eat what you want as long as it fits. Glad you are doing well with that.

p.s. hey deja? what part of Pa are you from?? I am south western. Not far from Pittsburgh.

have a great weekend...tomorrow is tgif....
