I am going to try to do a journal again. I am try to not let the things in my life get to me. For the last couple of weeks I have been focus on my diet. When I start this I was 208lbs. but I have let myself get up to as high as 227lbs. I am now back down to 213lbs. It is my hope to continue to lose during the holidays. I am still going to WW. My problem with that is I don't keep the points very well. I have two parties this week so I am planning to bank points so that I can have some of the things that will be there. I am also going to a lot of Christmas events so that will keep me busy.

I have not been exercising that much because I have been working 50 to 60 hour weeks. Some morning I can hardly get out of bed. I hope the overtime soon slow down. My daughter just move out so I am going to use her room for an exercise room. I have everything I need except I would like to get a weight bench. It is always this at the end of the year. I work for a book manufacturer. This is the busy time of the year. We do a lot of college (medical) books and some best sellers. Most of the books we do I would not buy.

I love shopping and that keeps my mind off me. Last week Friday, I was at Walmart at 6 am. That was an experience I will never, never for get. I got everything I went for and some. I loved every minute of it. When we got there someone butt line and another guy beat him up for it. They had to call ambulance for the other guy. Walmart did have some very good deal for the early bird specials. I am finish shopping for my Christmas presents. My children are going to be very surprise at the thing we got them this year. I got them things I thought they could use in there homes.

I better go get to cleaning mu house. My husband went to a party and I am here alone so I can get something done.

When ever I do this I always worry that I have not left out anything or I have not misspelled any words.

To all those who read this, thanks for stopping by.

Love,
Alampkin

Hi Alampkin,

I so envy you having an exercise room! :) Everytime my daughter (18) tells her dad and I she's moving out I get this little gleam in my eye like, "See ya sister! Cause the day you roll your room becomes my exercise room!" But as hubby says, "she'll be with us til she gets married or turns 50, whichever comes first!" :)

But having your own space for your stuff makes a difference. Right now I have a closet I store everything in and the bedroom is mine during my exercise time, but it's important to make it "yours."

I'm sure once you get back on a roll you'll be fine. And exercise is where you find it. An extra block walk from the car to your job or the mall entrance, walking the escalator or stairs rather than riding it, and sounds silly, but if you have stairs in your home a few laps up and down the stairs is exercise just as if you went outside to do it. I sometimes play mind games with myself and purposely make 3 or 4 trips downstairs to get items I need upstairs, and I run the steps back up each trip. It gets my heart rate up for a few seconds and makes me feel a little energetic.

And as for tracking your points, I track my calories so it's just a matter of getting use to writing them down as soon as possible. I sometimes keep a piece of note paper in my pocket so I can write down foods temporarily until I get back to my journal. Then I transfer the info into my journal later, but that way I don't forget eating something (easy to do at a buffet style gathering!), plus, it keeps me mindful that I am suppose to be watching what I eat, so writing it down makes me focus right then and there on what I'm eating.

Hi Donna,
Thanks for reading my journal and giving me some insight on exercising.
My daughter was living here for free ( that was alright but she didn't want to do anything to help out). I am now helping with things for her apartment so she can stay out there. I believe that two women do not belong in the same house. I ask her to pay $25 a month or pay the water bill but she did not want to do that. Beside, it was time for her to move because she will soon be 30 years old. She is doing very well now.
I am still not losing much weight but I am not gaining. I have not gotten my weight room together yet because I am still working very long hours. I do see a light at the end of this tunnel. :)

Hi Alampkin,
Wow sounds like your daughter needed to move. I have two sons that still live at home. One is 30 and the other is 32. One goes to school and works and the other one works about 60 hours a week. They both help with the house and expenses. I do very little house work and do not have to do anything for them or cook for them. However I will bake cookies and stuff for them.

They are both house hunting at this time and I hate to see them leave but will be nice too.The thing that helps me with ww and keeping track of points is to write down everything I eat . Otherwise I will lose track so fast! Even forget that I ate something in the morning! But I still like the program.

I wouldn't worry about misspelling anything I think most of us do it all the time.

Good to have all your shopping completed. I am going to try that for the next couple of days. Hey if you get a chance and feel like it stop in to Friday night's chat. Don't work to hard!!!!

Love and hugs,
Lizzie:rose:

Alampkin,

Whoohoo!!!!!!!!! An exercise room, how cool is that!!!!!!!!!

Remember that you can do things in 15 minute chunks. You don't have to do the whole room at once.

What equipment do you have? A treadmill? just take one night to set it up and you can do some exercise anytime. remember that often once we make ourselves exercise we have more energy to do it again.

Don't sweat it about making mistakes in your journal, we all do it. And we don't think any less of others if they do it. We just love being here and making friends and supporting each other.

Have a great weekend. Relax and take 15 minutes to do something in your 'new' exercise room.:D

I still have not put my exercise room together. I have to clean and paint the room first. I don"t know how we are going to get the treadmill upstairs because it is very heavy. I have the treadmill, a bike and a stepper. I bought a VCR to go in that room while I am on the treadmill. I love to get one of those weight stations that has different exercises on it.
I was using my circumstances as an excuse to eat whatever. Now it is time to stop. I was so sick last night from that I did not eat very much breakfast or lunch. I had dinner which I ate only what I had plan. Tonight I am going to decorate my tree and fold the wash. By the time I am finish those things it should be bedtime.
Tomorrow night, I want to wrap my gift and put them under the tree. I would like to try and keep busy so I don't have time to think about food.
Take care everyone. Alampkin

Hi Alampkin,

I know it has been a long tim since I visited your journal... and Do I know about.. daughters returning home.. Well.. there is NO MORE of that going to happen here I know.. Daughter and grandbrats moved out.. last night.. and will be coming back to get their stuff.. soon.. I HOPE.

We are in for a real tough road.. the next couple of months.. or longer... if things that are in action take place. I am just praying that they don't..

Good for you in turning your daughter's bedroom into a exercise room.. after the kids get all their stuff out.. I will be making the master bedroom my computer room again. :) for as long as I can.

Well.. keep working on your exercise room.. and.. Congrats for getting all you Christmas Shopping done.. Wish it was me who could say that.. but what we have for Christmas will be it.. this year... I don't think we will be able to afford more..

Hugs,

Hi Ducky,
I want to say a MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR.
I like the statement at the end of your e=mail. My children are not getting a lot this year and my husband and I don't need very much. I hope next year is one of the best you have ever known.
When my daughter moved out the first was not bad but when she came back it was terrible. She is a good kid but she felt as through she should not have to help out because she worked all the time. I am going to help her so she can stay out there. We got her some things for her apartment. I think my husband is going to get her a sofa. We are getting the oldest girl a washer.
They are getting big thing that is why my shopping is done.
Are you still at Harry and David? I am still working.
Well take care
Alampkin
