View Full Version : ~~ Snow Angels Trek To December ~~ 12/09/02 - 12/15/02 ~~
Lizzie B 12-09-02, 02:02 AM Good Morning Snow Angels,
How was your weekend?? Mine was great thank you and I am looking forward to today!!!!
I definitely will do the following:
1. Stay on program
2. Drink more water
3. Exercise at least 40 plus
I found out that my new bike is requiring a whole new set of muscles. Some that have been sleeping for a long time. Well let me tell you they got a wake up call. I can see it will take a few days to work up to 40 minutes but I am going to keep at it!!
This week I tried a new Kashi cereal and found it was pretty good. I guess you have to acquire a taste for Kashi Go Lean but once you do then any other cereal doesn't taste quite right!! I know that when I have the crunchy type for breakfast everyone else has to speak louder or I can not hear them for the crunch!! lol
December 31 is coming fast and time is getting short! But I am staying focused on today and working on my goals today. I am determined not to quit no matter what. I will never never give up on me. Plus I will never never give up on you either.
So let's get busy today and poke those pounds in the eye. I guess then I can be happy. My mother always said I would not be happy until I poked someone in the eye. So I poke pounds in the eye, then I am happy!!!!!!!!!! Yeaaaaaaaaaaa
I am going to go to bed now and get an hour's sleep. Have a good one evryone and let's do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love and hugs,
Lizzie:lily: :lily: :lily:
Blondee49 12-09-02, 04:05 AM Hiya Lizzie and crew to come!
Happy Monday!
I had a good weekend....busy at work, as it was lock out day Saturday! Oh JOY! I got some walking in 'cuz the solenoid stuck on the golf cart and she died on me...had to get James to come over and play with it. I finished gettin' locks done and had to undo some Sunday! It was colder and a tad rainy but I walked anyway. I had a two day headache and some hacking around from the wind but feel pretty good.
Lizzie! YAY on the bike! I know what ya mean about the muscle thing! You are doing a great job with your exercise goals!
I wore out my hugging muscles cleaning carpets! LOL!
I'm up doing laundry this morning and cleaning house before work. No wonder I'm ready for bed at 6 PM....can't get regulated!
I'm doing MUCH better on my food plan, getting more fiber, enough veggies and fruit. Evenings still need some work as that's been serious "chill time". Well I intend to find better and more productive ways to chill.
I have some of that Kashi cereal too! The twigs and bark one! I have a nice selection of cereals....remembering to eat 'em is the problem!
I'm on the wagon with ya Lizzie for the remainder of the year!
Today I will:
Drink that water! @ least 64 oz.
Stay OP w/ food
Exercise: walk/ plus
Stay up 'till 10 so I can sleep all night!
Gonna run for now.....have a wonderful day everyone!
Bren:D
shapenup 12-09-02, 05:50 AM Good morning everyone! You're posting pretty early! Well, the weekend is over. Saturday evening hubby and I played Euchre and I chowed down on the snacks. That is my last all out binge for the year! So I made it a good one! Uughhhh! There are consequences to pay for that kind of nonsense and so I had a VERY big on plan day yesterday. And another one we shall have today.
In chatting with a friend yesterday, I was expressing concern with a general lack of free time. 2 of my evenings are occupied with exercise and on another one I have a TOPS meeting to deal with the diet/food part of my life. I won't give any of this up so ....that means less than an hour at home three nights a week and often I have other stuff going on the rest of the week too. But, life is about choices and commitments. Certainly, a lack of dedication to your health will get you in trouble. BEEN THERE DONE THAT. I've decided that I can have my Tues evening back when I reach goal. I'll weigh in but won't always stay for the meetings. I'll go to an every other week plan perhaps, while weighing in weekly. But, this can't happen until I get my butt in gear and find the 150 mark on the scale. I'm going to do it and sooner vs. later! May 1 is my new deadline. I hope to reach this much sooner, but...I'm going to count on a pound a week coming off and the month of May is the beginning of city wide celebration in Indy. So ....I plan to add ME to the celebration.
Have a great day everyone! Set your goals in life and stick to them! Some will need to be revised, but others you'll reach. Planning for success is not an accident, nor is the outcome! :flower:
Lizzie B 12-09-02, 07:18 AM Hi Janet,
You helped my attitude this am. After reading your post I felt like I am ready to really tackle the day and the year. Yes I have been thinking about post December 31 and making plans and tentative goals. I do know 2002 had a major impact on my life and weight and HEALTH and 2003 is going to be better. Thanks for being so pumped this am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On December 31, I am going to re evaluate where I am going with my weight or without it and how I am planning on getting there. In the mean time I am working on today and staying with my goals.
But today I finished getting my tree up and if I do say so myself it is very pretty. Every Christmas ball on my tree I made using ribbon, lace, beads, gold cord, silver cord, pearls, gold beads and silver beads, numerous styles of bride white lace and everything kind of bead you can think of. Plus pearl headed pins and embroided silk flowers tiny one. Everyone that see them wants to buy some but not sure i want to start a business so I have given away over 500. Some thing to think about!!!
My son puts up the lights outside and now he has to finish decorating the tree out on the front lawn. I would like to get a few deer to put out on the lawn too. Not real ones!
Hey Bren with the smiling face and happy feet. I tried the twigs and bark--not bad if you don't mind the splinters. Hahahaha Darn i almost fell asleep typing. OMG I am boring myself. lol.
Think I will gp take a short nap and then come back. Pleasant dreams everyone!!!!!!!!
Love and bugs,
Lizzie
shapenup 12-10-02, 05:59 AM Hi! I was thinking yesterday about what I most enjoy about the holiday season...favorite memories etc. I'm sort of doing a skipping Christmas routine this year to cut down on the stress. Few decorations, no tree, hubby and I aren't exchanging gifts. I did send some out to family etc. We'll be away for xmas ...really away....no computers where I'm going and no snow either. This is our gift to each other.
Anyhow, my best memories involved the annual trip downtown to walk through the dept stores see santa and the animated figures in the store. It was really magical when it snowed during all this. The hustle and bustle of the shoppers on the streets, the ringing of the salvation army bells, carolers etc. It seemed like there was less focus on buying material things. Our family didn't have tons of money, but probably spent too much also. One of my favorite songs is Silver Bells and this is the kind of memory it evokes.
At work I'm accused of having no holiday spirit because I'm boycotting the daily food chowdown and a breakfast. I hear the gal from last night's exercise class saying "Don't anyone cut you down and tell you what you can't do." Yes, I agree and am staying focused on my goals. The bottom line is I'd rather be 3 or 4 lbs lighter by New Year's eve than a few pounds heavier from eating the rum cake, cookies, and cheeses, etc. Yes, some bring veggies too, but I can also bring that in as my snack!
Have the courage to stick with your own goals and to not go with the crowd. (Hey I am going to the holiday party!)
Janet
Blondee49 12-10-02, 07:51 AM Good morning again! Hey....where did the night go?
I knocked me out with benedryl and slept thru the night, woke up at 4:40..YAY!
Janet! Your enthusiasm is a real boost and you're so right.....just 'cuz the stuff is there doesn't mean we have to have it.
We're doing our company dinner tomorrow night at the Steak House and no one gets dessert. YAY!
Sounds like you have a plan, just you and your man....away for the Holidays.
Lizzie! Your tree sounds fabulous with the hand made decorations! I hope you count that among your many talents and accomplishments! I'll bet they're beautiful! I do NOT have patience for details so I'd hate to see what mine would look like! My creativty runs out at making collage cards! LOL!
I've done my decorating....I got new placemats for my table, hung a santa on my door, put my ceramic tree and angel out.......I'll shop for my mom and brother ........uhhh....the 23rd? That will be the next time I have money! LOL!
Lizzie.........we can and will make ourselves a priority in the year ahead. In looking at Janet's schedule, compared to MINE....I should have NO problems whipping me into shape. I have more free time than anyone I know without being retired! What I need to work on is filling that free time (a large portion of it) with beneficial activty. I may even make it a goal to get out and meet some people! I might like it?
We shall see.
Any thoughts on our New Years' name? Stacey suggested Beach Bunnies I thing....BTW...where are you Stacey? Lee, Katie, Sandie,.....AJ, Merri....hope they're advancing well and feeling better w/ their pregnancies, we'll send out an SOS search team to round 'em up.
I would like to see 200 again before the end of the year. I've really had a problem the past few weeks with fluid retention....allergy related, was out of BP meds for 3 days and that didn't help....I think I'm over the insane urge to eat everything the world has to offer........getting realigned and back on track.
Speaking of track.....the FLC where I go is raising their rates...again. OUCH. Still the best deal I suppose but I may have to work out another one.
I won't be renewing in January 'cuz that's my annual grope and poke and the mammogram thing-ee. I called yesterday for my appointment. I got 'em both for the same day....YAY....oh JOY....they know better than to turn me loose with a prescription for hormones without the mammogram 'cuz I'd be outa there and never show! I'll avoid the bloodwork? Refusing to pay for any should do it?
Gonna run......have a great day everyone....I'll be back:tomato:
Bren
Who will again........
Stay on plan for today
Lizzie B 12-10-02, 09:01 AM Morning Angels,
Janet I like the way you think. My DH and I don't as a rule exchange gifts. We did for many years only to find that we don't know each other's taste that well and usually bought the wrong things. So we just decided to stop buying gifts because others expected us to. We buy what we want during the year. So Christmas is more family time then anything else. I just bought some things I needed like a new bike and a digital camera. Some new kitchen appliances and DH and I are working on finishing our remodeling. We decided to work on it again after 25 years of not agreeing on what to do. Back to Christmas. We just like to keep it simple and not let the season wear us down. I love "Silver Bells" also.
I have renewed my "Getting Real " approach to life and absolutely will be down some pounds by Dec. 31st. They may still be encore pounds but they are still coming off. If I have the nerve I am going to post my stats on January 1,2003 and just deal with it!!
Hey Bren, I am with you and 2003 is going to be the year that I am finally going to take that last step to me. We all will. Look how far we all have traveled this year. Wow!!!!!!!!!
Been thinking about our next leg of our journey and changing names hmmmm I am finding it hard to let go of Snow Angels simply because the name makes me think of all of you!! You guys have been there day in and day out and I have grown very fond of all of you even the MIA Angels.
I definitely have to much times on my hands and it is spent here on the computer. But that is okay. Once I am able to start really moving I am back on the exercise routine and doing a whole lot more.
Yesterday I had a 100% on program day. Finally was able to have a 100% day instead of the 95 or 80% day. I am going to stay focused on my goals if I have to hire someone to tie me up for the day.
Aj I hope you are feeling better after your surgery. Just found out last night!!! Those appendix are really good for nothing!!
Well I am off to take my morning nap so see you all later.
{{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}
Love and hugs,
Lizzie
ajmarble 12-10-02, 12:24 PM Hello Angels....Well, I am still around, just taking things easy as best I can. The surgery went well, and I am feeling better. They say everything is great with the baby. They did another ultrasound last Thursday, and the baby's heartbeat was 170, and all the measurements were right on. What a blessing, because they said there could be problems with having the surgery, and being pregnant too. God answered our prayers though, everything is just fine! I am feeling pretty good just a little tired. I have been doing well with eating, staying about the same in weight, so that makes me feel better too. Well.....it looks like all of you have a new determination in the month of December, and are doing great!!! So glad all of you are doing so well in acheiving your goals. It CAN and it WILL be done!! Take care everyone, and have a great day! Hugs to all, AJ
shapenup 12-10-02, 10:27 PM Bells will be ringing at Christmas time...... I got a really really neat set of snowman placemats at our Tops gift exchange tonight and another nonmaterial :gift: that was even better. They told me 2 1/4 lbs down. Well, I'm an accountant and all that and my records say 173.5 less 170.25 equals 3 1/4! I'll need to check that with them next week. Either way! WOW! This hasn't exactly been a great week, but the chow hound did have a few OP days!
AJ, I'm glad you're doing better and that the baby is ok.
Lizzie, I too am jealous of your handmade ornament tree. I've wanted to do that and just haven't made the time. I'll bet it IS beautiful.
Was it Brenda that said she had lots of time? I'm jealous of that! But, anyone can make time to achieve and do what they really, really want. It means setting priorities, and giving up things that aren't as important. TV for example is not a part of my life. I don't turn it on often at all and haven't even glanced at a tv guide for months. I might now because I like ice skating and actually that is what I watched last...about 2 weeks ago. Hubby was channel surfing and I heard them say a skaters name and I said whoa! Had to find another tv and the channel. Its not hard to do though. We don't have cable and get 3 or 4 channels on the tv.
Blondee49 12-11-02, 04:47 AM Hi all!
Yep, Janet, it was me with enough free time for all of you! LOL! I've been single for over 12 years this time, living alone most of it. Had my elder son with me some between 92 and 96 when I moved back to Texas. He'd move out, get in trouble, move back in. Repeated cycle about 3 times. I can't believe he will be 30 in February! I have no real social life but I'm gonna GET one!
AJ...good to see you and am so glad all is well with the little one and you! That had to be scary! Bless your little heart! Take really good care of yourself and I hope recovery is swift in coming.
Lizzie.....I too like "snow angels" and perhaps we could concider keeping the name? After all we WILL be going thru an entire year together, which will lead us back to December and year end again.:D
I hear my noisy neighbor up there dragging a trunk across the floor, with a body in it. It's 2:35 AM for goodness sake! When he/she has their music going it's like a train rumbling in my walls. I..... uhhhhh..... hang a lot of pictures when that happens! I'm REAL confrontational aren't I?
I get 3 nights out this week! YAY! Tonight the Company dinner, Friday/Saturday dancing. I spoke with John last night, let him know I'd be out and I have a couple of friends who said they'd come one night. I'll let them entertain me and hope they don't EMBARRASS me! LOL!
I bought a pretty red blouse to wear....that puppy is SCRATCHY! It's a sweatery looking thing with attached shell, very nice but we'll see if I can stand it!
I have cards for my door! YAY! Four Christmas and one Birthday. I recycled one year and my son teased me about "pretending" I had LOTS of friends! I should post my address and beg for more?:o
Gonna run and put my place in order. I wanna do that and get a nap in before my nail appt. at 10:30. Doing a polish change to purty up for tonite. I probably could have slipped by but the tips are a tad weary looking! BOY am I vain? Nah!
Have a loverly day everyone.....I need benedryl....am sneezin' and snottin' and I will NOT be sick....I only have twenty more days to get thru to claim my flu free two years! LOL!
Love and huggy wuggies....oh I'll get some of those tonight! Travis is a hugger!
Mz B:D
Lizzie B 12-11-02, 06:15 AM Good Morning Angels,
What a lovely morning!! Still dark outside and chilly. My dog acted like she wanted to go outside but then stopped at the refrigerator. That means she wants cheese. Wonder how a dog developed the behavior of going to the refrigerator during the middle of the night? Why that is NUTS I tell ya NUTS!!
My second day of 100% on program and doing great. Well I need to monitor my blood sugar a little more and make sure I eat the right things. For some reason my blood sugar dropped low last night just before chat. Not sure exactly why it dropped but I am going to make sure I have protein at every meal.
Trying to get my Christmas shopping completed in the next couple of days and all my baking so I don't have to try and do it after surgery next week. I am going to take two days and concentrate on making fudge and cookies. I am almost ready to bake and not eat. Have to have that mind set bake but no eat!! Once I do then I won't eat any and that is the only way I will bake.
Hey aj, glad to hear you are feeling better. Make sure you are taking it easy and resting so your body will heal fast. Gosh that had to be a scary time. :rose: Yikes!!!!! Glad you are ok!!! Whew!!!!!!
Hey Janet, Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee on the 3 1/4 pounds!!!!!!!!:dn :dn That is great!! Actually that is most excellent especially right after Thanksgiving!!! Zipping right along missy.
I sat down last night and looked at my tree and could actually the tree. With my improved vision everything is not blurry. Everything looks so much better except the wrinkles in my face. That and the wrinkles in DH face!! I loved making all those ornaments.
Hey good for you for not sitting around and watching TV all the time. Mine is on 24/7/365 simply because I like the noise. That and the dogs don't bark as much with the TV covering noise that causes them to bark.
Hey Bren,
You know your neighbor just might be dragging a body around in a trunk . My DH has been buying these huge storage containers about the size of a big trunk. I told him as many as he has bought in the past few days the neighbors might start thinking he moving bodies with all he has purchased. You better send the boyz in to see what is going on. He gives them any trouble and they will kick his arse!!
How in the world do you keep your nails so nice?? I have to work on mine daily. In fact I add polish everyday to keep them from splitting. Constant daily care.
Ohhhh a red blouse!! Hmmmmmm sounds pretty scratches and all. I don't think I have ever worn a red blouse and only this year bought a pair of red shorts and a red v-neck top. Yummy color~~~~~~~
Well I am going to be on program again today. Staying at lower end of points and gonna drink more water. Back to exercising since I took a couple of days off. Right back on today!!!!!!!!
Well Angels abig {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUG}}}}}}}}}}}}}} and I am of to do some more posting and then off to bed again.
Love and big hugs,
Lizzie
sharonf 12-11-02, 08:40 AM Good Morning All,
First AJ I am glad everything is ok with your health and the health of the baby.
I miss all your guys. I was so glad to feel better yesterday. I haven't felt well since Thanksgiving. I thought I was being a whimp but I think I was really sick. I thought my back was getting better but it really didn't get better until yesterday either. Since I just keep going I often don't know I'm sick until I feel better.
My Mom is in a rehab and seems to be doing better. It looks like she will be able to come home. A couple of weeks ago we didn't think that was possible. Now I am just trying to deal with Dad. We went to the lawyer and have to get a lot of financial info together so that if Mom ends up in a nursing home than he won't lose too much money. Since Mom did all the financial stuff it is a trip dealing with Dad. He really is clueless in a lot of ways about financial matters.
Well let's see what else is going on. I was supposed to have my annual cookie exchange tonight but I think I will reschedule that since it is supposed to ice tonight and I live on a huge hill. Also both girls threw up last night so I don't want anyone getting sick. I have to go and deal with them. They are both having a fit since they can't go to school. Sara just ran up stairs and said she is getting the thermometer and said "if I don't have a fever I'm going to school. Even the dog threw up this week. Hopefully Hubby and I will escape that event.
I will catch up later with everyone. Oh yeah,I vote that we keep "Snow Angels". Hey it is snowing somewhere around the world all the time isn't it?
Blondee49 12-12-02, 09:20 AM Hi Sharon!
Bless your heart! You have truly had a time of it too! Your little girl is funny! I'm GOING to school! I was one who wished for a fever.....hmmm...wouldn't work at my house much!
My Mom made go me once when I told her I was sick and I hurled on the bus, she got mad 'cuz she had to come get me then........how come she remembers what I did and not HER stuff? LOL!
Hope you and DH can avoid that as well....... nasty stuff! Take care of you! Regular maintainence is neccessary!
Lizzie! It's so good you can see the tree clearly! Wrinkles......me some too! haha! I'd fare better if I'd take the few minutes needed to do all the moisturizing things for my poor dry skin and I am lazy about doing that. I have boo-coos of things FOR that...gettin' me to use it is sure to happen.....right?
Nails: Mine stay nice 'cuz I don't DO anything? LOL! I get 'em done every two weeks and in two years I've lost one, broken two.....not bad!
WOOHOO! I MUST dance for you........ two totally on plan days is great........tho you're right, must watch yourself and not let the blood sugar drop so low. We can't have our Lizzie sick again. We want good health along with the lost pounds. You are doing great my friend!
When do you go in for surgery? Is it the knee replacement or repair? We'll be praying for a speedy recovery for you!
I had a good time last night and since Travis and I were the last to arrive we had to sit at the head of the table with my boss! He behaved pretty well tho. We both ended up with steaks that still mooed at us......eeek! I asked 'em to kill it and bring it back. Then Steve and Cathy sent theirs back as well. He and Travis talked shuffle board and beer! haha!
I did fine at dinner, as I said, no one gets dessert so that wasn't a problem. I brought most of my steak home and will have it for dinner tonight. YUM....not something I'd pay $20.00 for on my own believe me! Personally I hope the bosses get a discount but I doubt it very much. There were 18 of us......so they're out about
$350. for that one meal........well, it's not that bad I suppose. Tho my dinner was WORTH about $6.00!
My friend Mike took his employees to Louisana for a night of gambling, for their Christmas..........hmmm, wonder if I could work part time for him and go? LOL! He'd told Travis he was gonna get over here and see me first before Travis came for dinner! They are funny. They say I am THEIR girlfriend.
Janet! OMG!I am jealous of your weight loss.....hmm....perhaps if I'd trade some of my FREE time for some heart pumpin' EXERCISE I'd see my scale dip too! LOL! I'll try that! You guys are on to something! Congratulations! I'll be dancing for you! That will rev me up!
Stacey......hope all is well with you and yours....we miss your face over here. Come back in the yard now! You girls don't venture too far fom the house!
Gonna run and let my day get under way. I plan to have a good one and hope you all do as well.
I was cleaning up drive C yesterday and just THOUGHT I'd done it before.....OMG ..... the crap files to delete, to free up space. There should be a tab that says "delete all green sticker lookin' things.....click OK".....and be done with it.:D
I worked or two solid hours and finally had to quit 'cuz my butt was petrified.........I'll do other stuff FIRST today!
Love you all!! Have a super day and be WELL!
Brenda
Lizzie B 12-12-02, 09:32 AM Good Morning Angels,
I have about 35 minutes before I have surgery on left eye. Can't wait to see better. YIKES I get so nervous when I have to do stuff like this. I guess the going alone gets to me sometimes. Well such is life.
I was looking in the mirror this morning--eekkkkk I was brave wasn't I? I saw all those scars by my mouth where my pup dug her claws in and left nasty cuts. Now of course the scars look like old age wrinkles. Blah blah blah I don't mind get old I just didn't know it was going to happen so soon!! hahaha duh!!!!
Well I should get dressed now that I have my hair in place and makeup on. Yes I need to get moving and quit stalling!!
Check in later
Lizzie
ellantehalima 12-12-02, 06:08 PM Hi fellow Snow Angels,
I'm sorry I have been MIA. I have had a crazy couple of weeks. Last week I lost almost 2 lbs and now only have about a .5 lb to reach my Snow Angel goal WooHoo. Last weekend my parents and Tony and I went to Leavenworth, Wa. It is a cute little town and all the buildings have a bavarian theme. They have a Christmas tree lighting ceremony that is a lot of fun to go to. It is always very beautiful. There are also tons of shops to go into and they all have unique items. We had so much fun we are going to go back on the 21 for the last weekend and Tony's parents are also going to come.
This weekend the Sheriff's Posse is having their Christmas dinner and it should be a lot of fun. Last night I found out that my Aunt and cousin are going to come over on Friday to see us. So this is going to be one busy weekend. Luckily I don't have any plans so far for Sunday. I am going to need to have a day to rest.
I hope everybody has a great evening and I will be back tomorrow.
Blondee49 12-13-02, 09:47 AM Hi all!
Katie! WOW....great going, girl! Only .5 pound to reach goal! Wonderful! And this Tony........hmmmm.....sounds like a keeper!
Have a great time this weekend!
Lizzie....Ohhhh....it's another eye surgery you're having......OK....I wuz thinking you had the knee one coming up and am so glad it's not, right now. You have a lot going on on a SLOW day...much more on the Holidays. Hope all is well ,recovery is swift and vision is clear.
I have my to-do list to DO, cleaning, collecting and dropping off to do. Think I'll stop in at Goodwill again just for funsies. I have stuff to drop off anyway.
I will behave myself today, do what I need to do to take good care of me.
Gonna get started......now! Have a great dy everyone!
Bren:D
StaceyJG1 12-13-02, 11:39 AM Good morning fellow Snow Angels!
I'm sorry I've been MIA. Things have been very hectic at work, and more so at home. Weight is still great, only 2 pounds to my goal! I was recognized at my WW meeting for the missing 81 pounds, even though it's 84 in my book! But what's a few pounds. Their scale is 3 pounds higher than mine, but they did finally recognize that I lost 40 pounds with WW. My ribbon is getting so full of 5 pound stars!! It's awesome.
The funny thing is that this week a LOT of people at my work have noticed that I "suddenly" lost a lot of weight! Isn't that funny? I've been losing since April, but they're just noticing how good I look. That's what they all say! They're calling me Skinny, Twiggy, silly names! But feels great.
I have completed ALL of my Xmas shopping this week, I registed for my first class last night, and now I just have to wrap my gifts. Yuck! I used to like wrapping, but not any more.
My daughter OD'd on aspirin last Thursday. She's ok, but her group home told the judge that they could not keep her any longer. She is now sitting in a kid's jail until 12/23 when we go back to court. This ought to be a wake-up call for her! I hated to see them take her out in shackles and handcuffs, (she was in tears) but I think it might show her how much she should appreciate the other places she's been. St Anne's Institute will take her on 12/23, and they will be able to get her the treatment she needs. But I don't think she'll be around for Christmas. :(
Ok, back to work. I'll be back!
Lizzie B 12-13-02, 12:13 PM Good Morning Snow Agels,
Woke with the headache from hell today but still had to go to doc and get pressure checked in my eye. Well last surgery is over and I don't have to go back for a year. Sight has improved 100% in right eye and about 75 % in left eye. I can see clearly with my glasses on now!!
Hi Bren,
Yep knee surgery is for next Thursday. I am so glad cause the old knee has been hurting like crazy and all I did was wear hose for about 2 hours. YIKES!!!!!!!!!!
Me too have a to do list but took a nap instead yesterday.
Hahaha won't get stuff done that way but I sure was tired. Now I have to complete yesterday and today! No big deal. But it calls for me to do a lot today plus baking!!! Hey if you are not busy today HELP!!!!!!! I am going to have to make myself stop at Goodwill and see what is happening and I need to take a lot myself. Have you checked out the Salvation Army??
OMG I hate when I get a steak that is still kicking when it is served. I love steak myself but hs to be cooked all the way through. Last time I ordered steak when I went out to dinner it walked to the table still chewing its cud. I sent it back so many times that I started feeling bad for the chef and the waitress. But dang I like my meat done.
I keep thinking about you every Friday and Saturday night out there dancing and having fun. Good for you for getting out there and having fun!!
I got a kick out of you cleaning your computer. When I cleaned mine I also erased a few things I needed. Don't know what I was thinking!!
HI Katie,
Yes I have been missing you . Good to see you check in. I was hoping your were busy and not sick!!!!! WOWWWWWW only .5 from your goal. That is so cool! I am sure proud of you! That is excellent:super: :tongue:arty: yep sure does sound like you are goping to get busy real fast.
I agree with Bren. Tony does sound like a keeper. Now let's see if he can pass our test. Hahahaha We just want to make sure he is right fella for you!! Okay just kidding ( not really)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Sharon,
Glad you are feeling better. Darn not much fun being sick during the holidays. Good news about your mom also. Bet she is looking forward to coming home too. I know my mother was in rehab for about 6 weeks and had to live in a nursing home during that time. She gained physical strength but lost mental functioning. Now she is home again and getting ready to make Christmas candy. Not bad for 87 year old. I just bet your mom will do even better once she gets through rehab and can come home.
I bet that was a trip with the finances. My mother did the same thing with the financies and dad was good at spending and not writing it down.
I like the idea of the cookie exchange maybe I can get one started next year!! Sounds like fun.
Well better get my fanny moving or I will never get things on the move. I am heading into my 4th day on program and looking forward to it!!
Havea great day Angels!!!!!!!!
Love and hugs,
Lizzie
I think Snow Angels will continue to be our name. I really love our name!!
ellantehalima 12-13-02, 06:39 PM Hi everyone,
Posting two days in a row, that must be a record for me. I went to my ww meeting last night and lost .2 lbs. I thought my weekend was going to be busy well it is going to be even busier now. I just found out that my bridesmaid dress is in and now I have to go to Spokane and get it fitted tomorrow. So tomorrow I am going to be doing a lot of running. My Aunt and cousin just got into town this afternoon and they will be leaving tomorrow morning. When they leave I have to leave for Spokane, which is about 2 hrs away, and then once I get fitted I have to get back to Moses Lake for our Sheriff's Posse dinner at 6. So talk about a busy day.
:bd Brenda. I hope you have a great day.
Lizzie glad to hear your eye surgery went well. It is always great when you can see clear.
Well everybody have a great weekend.
Lizzie B 12-13-02, 08:58 PM What, did I missed your Birthday Bren? Well Happy Birthday to you!! How old are you 27?? Hahahah Hope you have a wonderful day!!:bd :tongue:arty:  :gift: :cake: Yahooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! Happy Birthday To Yoooooooooooooooooooou.

Blondee49 12-14-02, 08:29 AM Thanks girls! For the Birthday wishes!
Lizzie, I cannot lie....I have passed 27 right up. I am 35 for the 15th time! LOL!
I was a weenie last night and stayed home. Will go out tonight and pretend that vryone there is there for ME! haha! can stay later since I don't have to be at work 'till 12 on Sunday.
Lizzie, I wuz busting my butt cleaning up files on c-drive.....well duh! I have installed an "uninstaller", that will clean up those for me . I finally was able to figure it out. I'd done the quick clean before but never the extensive one. It wanted to wipe out my music files on D drive! It seemed to think they were "uneccessary files"! I have 658 downloaded songs....taking up 3.7gb of space. That's alot!
I moved AOL to my 10 gig hard drive 'cuz I ran out of room a LOT on my teeny tiny 811mb c-drive. ( like I really know what either of 'em is!)
I took my pretty red shirt back. It was a little too big and a lot too scratchy but it wuz purty! I got a black/red one. Same style, different material and look. I have a lovely plum colored soft sweatery thing and a new pair of jeans. I don't DO jeans but figured why not.........I'll be cute tonight!
So you DO have knee surgery coming up! Next Thursday? I hope they fix you up proper and you do great after. They won't have to worry about you doing your exercises 'cuz you're WANTING to!
YAY! On staying OP and moving forwrd!
Stacey! So good to see you girl! YAY! You're doing great too! Hey, think I'll do me up something at home to "reward" my efforts! Your ribbon wit the #5 pins sounds neat! In spite of the problems around you, you've stayed focused and are taking care of you.
I had a good day yesterday, tho I was low on my fruit/veggies.I will plan accordingly today, and make sure I get plenty of water. I was in a lot of pain yesterday, and even pushing clothes around on the rack at Goodwill hurt me. I feel better when I get some exercise so will do that. Even a few minutes at a time will improve it. I've got to limber up for tonight after all!
Gonna run and get ready forwork. Have a great day everyone!
Hidy ho to Katie, Sharon, Lee, AJ and rest of crew.
I'll see you all later!
Bren

I did have a good Birthday and m extendng it over to tonight....I'll drag this out as long as possible!
When deleting stuff I did accidently erase my different music files....ie girly music, exercise, gospel, boo-hoo, bar hoppin' files. Now I'll have to go back thru and redo 'em!
Gots to have my music!
Gonna do that now and maybe havea margarita to uhhh loosen me up!

sharonf 12-15-02, 07:53 AM Good Morning Ladies,
How is everyone dooing? We are having a wet few days but atleast there is no ice. I do wish it was snow. I am feeling much better. I will go to the chiro this week and next week just to make sure it is ok for Christmas. Christmas YIKES! I really have to go see what I have for the kids and see whateles I need. I keep talking about what I'm getting everyone but it would help to go get it.
I was going to shop tomorrow morning while Brielle is in school but I'm going to a funeral. My friends's Mom died. She was very sick but only in her eary 70's. I'll always remember sitting at her house and talking and laughing when we were younger. My bosses wife's mother also died last week. She had a rare disease and was only given two weeks to live. It really makes you want to live for today and not sweat the small stuff.
We had our potluck supper and Christmas party at the lake clubhouse. the girls had a ball and Brielle sat on santa's lap for the first time. I always say that we don't go see santa at the mall but they do. they see him at the party. OK I can let go of that guilt~lol.
This week should be a bit easier around here. I don't know if I mentioned it earlier but both girls had a 24 hour bug. Even the dog was sick last week. Ill leave out the details but I was cleaning up the carpet alot last week.
So this week I am going to start walking and see how my back is. I think I will walk on the track instead of the hills. No sense taking any chances. We need to put more lights up outside, I need to bake a ton, I've got to run to the wake today and I MUST get the bills and the insurance forms done today.
I will step on the scale today but from the way my pants firt I know it won't be pleasant and they are sweat pants to boot~lol. I am going for my walk now and will drinlk all my water.
I've decided to post here everyday. Lizzie I don't know if I'm going to post on the ww challenge. I'll see how it goes.
Brenda soooooooooo sorry I missed your birthday! Happy Birthday! I hope this year is the best of them all! Actually are you still celebrating?
Janet Have a wonderful time wherever you are going sounds great!
Stacey Sounds like you are very strong. Sorry your daughter won't be around for Christmas. That must be so difficult. I will keep you and her in my thoughts and prayers. Like you said she will get the care she needs and maybe she will get it this time.
Ellan....Hope you had fun at the dinner and hope that today is a bit calmer for you.
Hi to everyone else.
Hey are we keeping the snow angel name. I vote yes. It is snowing somewhere in the world every day.
Lizzie B 12-15-02, 08:49 AM Sharon,
You post wherever you want sweetie. That is up to you so don't go worrying about it you do what is comfortable for you and don't sweat the small stuff!!!
Yikes I have 4 days to knee surgery. I have a ton of stuff to do also and time is a wasting. I had my grandhilden over night last night. Well we went shopping and oh myyyyyyyyyy the traffic was awful but kind of fun to because we were out Christmas shopping and craft buying.
We had a great time making candles!! I had not been out Christmas shopping with my grandchildren ever. So that was fun. I sure learned about the childrens likes and dislikes. My granddaughter considers herself an adult now. Too funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When we got to my house we were going to make candles and bake cookies BUT we were up until 11:30 just making candles. We had alot of fun and had a good time.
Well I going to go back to bed and perhaps sleep!!
Be back later.
Love and Holiday Hugs,
Lizzie
Blondee49 12-15-02, 10:35 AM Goooood morning everyone!
Yep Sharon, I think I will celebrate every day of my 50th year. I can celebrate in small ways, with simple things. I will celebrate the gift of each day. Yep, I'll still whine occasionally but amd so blessed just to BE here!
I saw a friend at the club last night who had her Bitrthday on the same day, said 50 for her was falling face forward in the dirt.....well not ME!
Sounds like you have your time well accounted for in the days ahead! Ya'll make me SOOOOOO tired! LOL!
I had a really good time last night. I danced quite a bit, got some hugs in, got hit on by a 60 something guy and my out of town boyfriend got ressurected. You'd think by now most folks would know he's a myth! Just because I'm not WITH a guy does NOT mean I'm up for grabs! LOL! Do guys have that problem? Should I be flattered that I'm still BEING hit on??
Lizzie, sounds like a busy time with the young-uns, and fun! You don't really have a lot of down time with your schedule. I'd be wanting a NAP every day! Have a wonderful day today and enjoy making those memories, while making candles and cookies!
I've gotta get my house in order and pull something out of my freezer to cook. I'll be working 8 days more before I'm off again so will actually have to cook after work a time or two. I have simple stuff tho so shouldn't strain myself any! It's a good thing I only have ME to please!
Have a good day everyone.........I'll be back later!
Bren
