Hi guys,

I was just wondering how supportive you find male co-workers/friends of your individual eating plans?

With women, its common to have several women in any given office or circle of friends who are also dieting or trying to follow a special eating plan, but I wonder how much support, and how often guys share this in common with their co-workers or circle of friends?

Do you find other men helping you with your plan as far as respecting what you're doing? And respecting your eating choices? Are you able to discuss it freely, or is it more of a "private" thing?

I ask because for all the people that say men and women are created equal, clearly there are still areas that men on the whole are not comfortable with discussing in a public or social forum such as their office or watching the game at a male friends place with all the other guys around. Yet women can usually get away with talking about almost anything and everything, and its socially acceptable.

Just wondering how this all impacts you guys?

Thanks for any insight guys, and maybe it will help us (females) to be more sensitive to your needs.

Hi Donna,

I am not a guy but I wanted to speak about the girl side for a minute.

I have one diet buddy, my mother, and that is it! Every other woman I talk to about dieting says I should "enjoy food more" and "oh, you don't need to lose weight." Even though I do enjoy a variety of food and I have 30 more pounds to lose! It is literally strange for me to talk about dieting with other woman because they really try to sabotage my efforts. They bring me chocolate, tell me I don't need to lose anymore, etc. I actually have a guy friend at work that talks about it with me and asks for advice! I must be on an alien planet! LOL

I find other woman here. Thank goodness!

I think men do not go into the "emotion" of weight loss as women do.
