View Full Version : THE NEW ME IN 2003-by fleureange
fleureange 01-01-03, 01:43 PM January 1 2003,
Hello friends, it's me Darlene with yet another new journal.
I figured since I am starting to embark on a new lifesyle with healthy food choises and regular excersise, I might just as well start a new journal too.
For me today is a day of new beginings.
I have decided my new years resolutions will all be positive. I will not give up anything this year, as I will to give up.
My resolutions are,
1- I will eat healthy food choises and portion sizes.
2- I will exercise everyday if possible
3- I will be kind and gentle with myself.
4- I will think possitive thoughts to replace the old negative ones.
5- I will do at least one good deed everyday and look for no recognition for it.
6- I will be more patient
7- I will abstain from cheese, lunch meats, sweets and bread.
8- I will write down my food so I can see what goes in.
I guess I have lots to do this year, but I'm ready for these changes.
My goal is to be healthy, fit and more visually attractive (to me as well as others)
This year I have also joined the Pinch an Inch challenge.
Watch out ladies, I intend to WIN!! LOL
The way I see it, we will all be winners.
Take care and I hope everyone has a wonderful year.
Darlene :dn
Sorry Darlene. You can't win the Pinch an Inch as I am destined to win.
Your list sounds great!!! I am sure you will be a success!!
I look forward to getting to know another Diettalk Canuck.
Andrea (nanny)

Hi, Fleur!
Great attitude & great goals! 2003 is going to be stellar, I just know it. I've still got meeting you on my calendar in June, don't forget! Let's see how much progress we can make before then. Pounds, measurements, health improvements, the whole deal... and we're gonna be lookin' good! :) :)
Lisrey :flower:
chumlette 01-01-03, 10:53 PM Fleur, I am psyched for you and your resolutions list. And of course, you just know I loved the one about doing a good deed without recognition. That may just be my favorite!
Here's to success and to a wonderful year!!!
StaceyJG1 01-01-03, 10:56 PM You can't win...I want to win!! LOL Like someone else said, we will ALL be winners! I'm looking forward to chatting with you more.
I started a new journal too. I have a surprise in mine!!
"Stacey's New Year with Gizmo" Check it out!!
wanderer1 01-02-03, 12:04 AM Happy New Year Fleur.. good start with the journal. We will do it this year. I just know it.. we are closer than we were the beginning of last year. Will keep in touch..
fleureange 01-02-03, 12:53 AM WOW, Look at all my visitors.
Hello everyone :hug: all around.
Ruthie- Thanks for the positive thoughts. I know you are right, we will succeed in 2003. I'm very excited to see the scenery too.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi there Lee- Thanks for dripping in. 2003, we're gonna do it this time!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Claire- Hey girl friend. Good to see you. We're gonna kick some butt this year. I'm going to get so fit Jane Fonda will be put to shame. Well, maybe not, but positive thoughts are now my way of thinking. Anything is possible.
No, I still haven't figured out how to upload pictures. I thought I had done it once before, but if I did, I can't seem to do it again.
i hope writing my food helps. I did once before, so it should again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
First Monday in June, you and me, we got a date. Since you're coming here, I should plan us a nice day out. A girls day out. I though maybe a couple of hours at a spa and lunch would be nice. I heard of others going to a gym, but I don't have a membership anywhere. I'm sure we'll come up with something nice.
We got a few months to lose a few pounds,(or 50 LOL) We will both be looking dynamite by then.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chum, i like that resolution too. I think it's good for the character. I did a small deed today. Just did a little something extra for Dan. He probably won't notice, but that's the idea.
I guess I just want to be an all round better person. Got to start somewhere.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stacey, I like the title of your journal. It's so cute. I haven't been there yet, but I'll be checking it out in a few minutes.
By the way, hehehehehe (evil laugh) I'm gonna win :D
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wand, Glad to see you. I just know this year will see us all fit and healthy. Look out world, here we come.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, I ended up eating a bit more so here it is..
3 C stir fried assorted veggies in an oriental sause from a pouch.
1 ff yogurt
1C granola cluster cearial.
Guess what, I now remember what it was like to sweat! Yep, that's right, according to resolution 4, I got off my butt, got up on my new treadmill and my Weider gym and did an hour workout. I alternated between the two. 15 min on the TM a set on the gym and back to the TM. Was fun.
I also drank just about all my water for the day. I still have a bit left, but I'm working on it. I didn't add water to my list of resolutions, but I should have. I think working out will really help me in that department.
Well, That's all I have to report for tonight. I'm planing to be up early to workout again. I was lated doing it today since I got off to a rather slow start then the company piled in. Might have been a late workout, but I got it in and I'm very proud of that.
Nighty night folks.
Remember, this is our year. We will work hard and reap the rewards.
Darlene
1step@atime 01-02-03, 02:53 AM Happy New Year Fleur,
Great attitudes to start the year off with a bang, thanks for the pm, haven't been around too much lately. Love your goals. Starting a new journal for the New Year is a great idea, will do so myself. You go girl. the best is yet to come.
Hi Darlene,
There seems to be alot of new journals. That is great.
You sounds like you are doing awesome, wow, also a great home gym. Enjoy it!!!
Will see you around, thanks for the pm about your new journal. \
Happy New Year to you too and may you experience many successes this year.
mcmarto 01-02-03, 11:31 AM Hello Fleur
You will not win...Nanny or Stacey either!...I will be the inch pinchers winner!...hahahaha...I about fainted when I took my measurements!
Your goals sound great.....good luck.........we will all be losers this year...heeheehee!
mcmarto
fleureange 01-02-03, 12:19 PM January 2 2003,
Mcmarto, Boy do I hear ya. I nearly fainted myself LOL. I always knew I was big, but seeing the numbers nearly knocked me on my ass.
I still think I'm going to win LOL. :D
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Crazy, thanks for stopping in. I had to wait for a week to use my gym or treadmill. I had hurt my back somehow. It still hurts, but I'm able to use the gym with no probleme. The treadmill doesn't seem to bother me either. Thank goodness.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Annie, you are so right, the best is yet to come. I'll have to check out that new journal of yours. Thanks for stopping in.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wow, where does the time go? It's already 11 AM and I still have to eat breakfast.
I have a question for those who exercise first thing in the morning. Do you eat your breakfast first? or do you eat after your workout?
I just finished my workout. I did 35 minutes on the treadmill and 3 sets on the gym.
I'm hoping once my back is better, to get into floor exercises and free weights. I might even jump back into aerobics. For now the treadmill and gym are good enough.
Well, I should be off to eat a healthy breakfast now. I was thinking of a ff yogurt, granola crunch cereal and a orange.
I'm already well on the way in the water department. I have nearly half finished. For me that's a big deal.
Once again, I am proud of myself for these acheivments, small as they may be.
Oh, one other thing I have done to help me keep motivated was to start and account at memotome.com
I wrote a pep talk e-mail to myself that get's delivered daily. I know I will need to be reminded of the reasons for wanting to lose weight. So everyday, I get that reminder.
Breakfast awaits,
Darlene :dn
Big Red 01-02-03, 01:33 PM HAPPY NEW YEAR, DARLENE!
What a wonderful Idea of starting a new journal for the new year. I think I will also do that.
Love your goals for the new year. Very positive! Wonderful Idea. I need to sit and reflect on last year and make my positive goals for this year. Very motivational. Thanks.
Julie
mcmarto 01-02-03, 03:54 PM Thanks for the tip on memotome!
I am going to check it out...good going on the water...I am halfway there too........I gave up french fries......now I think I have about told everyone now...heeheehee!
mcmarto
HI Darlene :wave:
Sounds like you are doing wonderful :)
Jade
Great going on your workouts! I have read that the best thing to do about breakfast is to eat some low-fiber cereal with skim milk beforehand, then eat something else after (can't remember what!). This might be a really good question to ask in the Personal Dietician forum!
You know, when we get together the weather ought to be beautiful. I'd love to do something outside, like walk around a park or something. Doesn't have to be fancy or involve money or anything... I will probably just want to walk & chat away! We have lots of time to think about it, although I hope it goes fast -- I love the summer! :spring: Are you getting dumped with the big snow we are tonight?? Eeek.
Lisrey :snow:
fleureange 01-02-03, 11:32 PM Hi Julie, Happy new year to you too girlfriend. I'll have to check out that new journal of yours.
I am so looking forward to this year. I just know it's going to be a great success for all of us here at DT.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mcmarto, way to go on giving up fries. I know how hard it is. Fries aren't my big thing. For me it's sweets, so I know how it feels.
Did you finish your water??? Idid :D
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jade, thanks for coming by. I am feeling great. Very positive.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello all,
I wanted to get to a chat tonight, but got held up by Dan being on the puter.
Did well today.
Got my exercise in.
Ate well.
BREAKFAST
1 ff yogurt
1 C granola crunch cereal
LUNCH
1 sm baked potato
kraft light italian dressing
5 oz pork chop
0.5 C wax beans
DINNER
5oz sole / grilled
1md baked potato
light italian dressing
1 C wax beans
SNACKS
2 tbs chocolate milk sauce
6oz skim milk
1" candy cane.
I feel I need to tell all. Even that I licked my fingers after dishing out lasagna for the family.
I managed to get most of my x-mas decorations down. My living room looks empty now. i had sooo much stuff out. As full as it was, it looked cosy not cluttered.
WEll, I'm off to post around DT.
Nighty night all.
Remember, we will do this.
one day at a time.
one pound at a time
and to my fellow Pinch an Inch challengers, one inch at a time. LOL
Darlene
:dn
fleureange 01-02-03, 11:48 PM Hi Lisrey, WE must have been posting at the same time. I was also chatting with my mom via messenger, and since she talks to much (LOL) I took me quite a while to post.
Ok, I'll eat the cereal, but I will also post it in the Personal Dietitian forum. Thanks for the suggestion.
I love summer too, except on those high humidity days you can't breath. going for a walk sounds nice too. We have some nice parks and the waterfront has all been redone. They now have sculptures that are ...well....weird. LOL I like sculptures, but I like to know what it's suppose to be LOL.
How much snow do you have so far? it's 10:50 and we have about 7" and it's still going strong.
Carefull driving if you need to go out in the AM. No more accidents, K?
Nighty night
Darlene :dn
mcmarto 01-02-03, 11:53 PM I got all my water in!...Yipee!
Your food today sounded so good!...Better then mine...but we did it...made it through today!
Have fun this weekend!
mcmarto
fleureange 01-03-03, 05:25 PM January 3 2003
Mcmarto- you got that right, we made it through the day. I'm making it through today pretty well too. I hope you are doing the same.
My water sucks so far, but that will change tonight. I haven't exercised yet and don't plan to till tonight. Once I do, that will help get my water down. I guess i could start now. Sure wouldn't hurt.
I hope you have a great weekend.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, as I said, I have not yet done my workout. I will do it tonight. No excuses.
Will also drink my water.
Food so far today...
BREAKFAST
1 ff yogurt
1 C granola crunch cereal
LUNCH
2 large tortilla
2 tbs ff soure cream ( added garlic and dill)
3 C California style frozen veggies.
That's it so far. For dinner I may have chicken in a tortilla, but I'm not sure yeat. I do know I need to eat some fruit, so I'll try to have one with my dinner and one later for a snack. Oh, one before bed (after exercise) would be nice.
Well I'm hoping to chat tonight, but who knows. Dan leaves for work at 10 and chat is over by then. Between 9 and 10 is crazy trying to get him ready for work. I'll have to try my best. Maybe get things ready a head of time if I can.
Well, I'm off now. I'll be back in tonight- sometime.
Have a great day.
Darlene :dn
wanderer1 01-03-03, 05:47 PM sounds like you are doing well fleur.. Keep up the good work. Will look for you in chat when ever you can make it. I have trouble with it here.. (I forget).. but getting better.
Ruthieb 01-03-03, 11:23 PM Hello Darlene, Glad you are having luck with the food I'm doing good myself well hope you have a great weekend. Ruthieb
fleureange 01-04-03, 12:04 AM Hi Wand and Ruthie.
I'm so glad we are all off to a wonderful start.
Thanks for stopping in ladies.
I missed chat. I figured I would. :( Taking care of my hubby is a full time job in it's self. LOL
Well, just thought I'd stop in and report the rest of my food.
DINNER
3 C mixed caifornia style veggies
1 C six bean salade
light italian dressing
4oz grilled chicken
SNACK
2 lady finger cookies
drizzled with chocolate milk sauce,
Those cookies were a small treat, but were very low in fat. The cookie has only 1gram of fat and the choc, has like .3 for 2 tbs. I had maybe a tsp. Cals on the other hand, are a bit higher I know, but I am still in range.
Well, I'm off to exercise now. My 11 year old daughter is waiting for me. She wants to workout with me. Isn't that sweet?
Have a great night everyone.
Darlene :dn
Fleur I just posted in your old journal. sorry about that.
Glad to hear you are doing so well.
Keep it up and keep telling us, it helps us too.
fleureange 01-04-03, 07:44 PM January 4 2003
Thanks for dropping by both journals Nancy. i should close the other one since I won't be using it any more.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wow, what a busy day. I have been going just about all day.
I had to bring Reilly to hockey practice this morning. We didn't have to get up till 7:30. That wasn't so bad.
Tomorrow he has to be at the arena for 7 AM. That means leaving at 6. Can you drive a car with your eyes closed? hmmmm, guess not. I had better get a good night sleep tonight.
I went and got a few groceries at the new grocery store in the next town. WOW, the prices are so much cheaper.
I had better post my food for today...
BREAKFAST
1 ff yogurt
1 C granola crunch cereal
LUNCH
2 lg tortillas
3.5 oz grilled chicken breast
1 C 6 bean salad
lite italian dressing
DINNER
3 C red leaf lettuce
2 tsp sun flower seeds (not salted)
2 tsp lemon juice
lite italian dressing
2 Clementine
4 oz chicken (from legs)
SNACKS
1 coffee with triple milk (2%)
1 fruit explosion muffin
I did do 30 minutes on the treadmill last night, but got side tracked from the gym.
I will do at least 30 minutes tonight to.
I drank all my water last night, and have yet to drink it today. I'll drink it tonight while on the treadmill.
I guess that is all.
i think I had better go if I'm to get to bed early tonight.
Have a great night and a wonderful Sunday.
Darlene :water: :lift: :dn
Ruthieb 01-04-03, 07:58 PM Hello Darlene, Some people think you can drive with your eyes closed...I just don't ride with them. lol I'm glad you found a cheaper grocery store every little bit helps. We have a Save-A-Lot where I live and I try to do most of my shopping there but some things I just like to get the name brand it just seems better to me. Ruthieb
Hi Darlene!!! I made it out to the gym and got 30 min of exercise in there. It was really busy in there but I stayed and did what I could. Treadmill had a huge waiting list so I skipped it worked out on recumbent bike and rower. It felt so good to get back out and do this why did I ever let it slip? Fool that I am!
Have a great weekend.
mcmarto 01-05-03, 02:27 AM Hey Fleur!
Your are doing well!
Hey...I was reading in one of my magazines that they have this new tortilla out that has 6 grams of fiber in it!...They taste tested it and said it was pretty decent!...Check out latortillafactory.com!
Also...I went to Target today and picked up the L. Sansone walking tape (2 miles)...so watch out girl!...Slim mc will be here soon!
Have a nice Sunday...I will be walking and reading the latest Oprah magazine (lots of good info!)
heeheehee!
fleureange 01-05-03, 11:02 AM January 5 2003
Ruthie, I bye no name most of the time, but there are some things you just can't compromise on. Laundry soap, dish soap and toilet paper are some to name a few.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lee, I know all about being a fool. I too let my exercise slip. For a while there, I wasn't huffing and puffing climbing the stairs.
Good for you for sticking it out. I'm really proud of ya.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mcmarto, I'll check out that site. Thanks. I probably won't be able to find the tortilla here :( It always seems Canada takes forever to get the good stuff. I find our shopping selection isn't as good. I love to shop in the US. I am amazed everytime I go.
I've heard of those tapes. What are they like? What is on them?
I just can't imagin. Is it her walking a treadmill to?
I cant wait to meet the slim MC. But I'm still going to win the inch pinchers challenge LOL:D
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now, after telling Mcmarto that I'm going to win the challenge, I have two confessions to make.First, I had a small bowl of icecream yesterday. I was small I know, but I felt really bad about it. I confessed last night in Chat, but felt I needed to do so here too.
Secondly, I made a promise to those in chat last night that I would do my 30 minutes on the treadmil. I regret I did not keep that promise. Time flew by and I needed to go to bed because I needed to be up at 5 AM. Because I didn't work out last night, i will make it up today by doing two segments on the treadmill. 30 minutes each segment.
For those who were in chat last night, I sincerly appologise. I am not usually one to break my word. i will make it up to you and to myself. Afterall, I have a challenge to win.
I recieved my e-mail from myself this morning. Got me pumped up. I have to do this. I need to do this. I have many reasons for doing this.
I want to be slim. For once in my life, I want to feel sexy. I want men to look at me with interest, even if I'm not interested. I want to feel attractive. I want to be noticed for something other then the rolls of fat.
That is why I'm going this. I deserve it too. i think I have a great personality, I should have a great body to match.
ok, I'm ready to go face my day.
I hope you all have a healthy, fun and happy day. Make this day count. We are all worth it.
Darlene :hippy:
Hi Darlene :wave:
NO, need to apologize to anyone - your human my friend in case you did not know that lol ;)
Just move forward now :)
Jade
The grass is greener..... I am always amazed at the selection of stuff when I go to Chicago. When you live there you get used to it and start missing things from home. We have a better cereal selection. They have no Corn Bran cereal. I really wish we has Target in Canada. That is the store I miss the most.
It sounds like you are doing well. No one can adhere 100% to their word regarding food. We are not perfect and will always have slips. How you react to the slip up is what matters.
Cheers,
Andrea
mcmarto 01-05-03, 07:35 PM Hey Fleur!
I haven't tried the tape yet...just bought it...hopefully on Wednesday...since I have my grad class tomorrow night ... I get home too late...and Curves is written inked in for Tues. and Thurs.!...But I will let you know...Chum is the one who got me interested...she would be able to tell you!
In regards to your ice cream......thats ok!...You should be able to eat what ever you want...just in moderation!...Try to fit it into your calories for the day!
Soon plenty of men will be noticing you (when I am walking next to you...for sure!)...hahahahaha...just kidding!
Hope you have a good week...don't feel bad about what you think you messed up...only feel good about all the things you have improved on!
mcmarto
fleureange 01-05-03, 11:37 PM LOL Mcmarto. My daughter just asked me what I was laughing at. She thinks I'm crazy. You're probably right, the men will start taking notice, but ONLY if your with me LOL.
You're so cute.
When I get my butt out to the city to shop, I'll look for those tapes. I know they come in different miles, so I'l be sure to start small.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nanny, I agree, I like the cereal choises here much better. I sometimes eat what I affectionately call bird seed. Actually it's called Red River Cereal. It's not bad once it's been doctored up. Very healthy stuff. They don't sell it in the US. But their clothes (especially for big woman) are out of this world.
Thanks for the pep talk too. It helped.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jade, Thanks for reminding me that I;m humain. I can easily forget. i'm so use to playing the roles of super woman, wonder mom and ulta wife, that I can forget that I'm a mere mortal.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was only able to to do 45 min on the treadmill. I nearly died. I'll do another 45 tomorrow to make up the difference. I can hardly wait 8-| Actually, i don't mind walking, just was very tired afterward.
Speaking of tired. I'm beat.
I want to get to bed early tonight because I want to move my workout to first thing in the morning. (5 am)
Here is my food for today
BREAKFAST
1ff yogurt
1 C granola crunch cereal
LUNCH
2 tortillas
4 oz chicken
bbq sauce
lettuce
1 apple
DINNER
2 C spagetti/meat sauce
SNACK
fruit explosion muffin
1 gl apple juice
1 lf granola bar
fleureange 01-07-03, 12:36 AM January 6 2003
Hi Mcmarto, Nice to see a friendly face. I sure need one right now.
I had a terrible day. My food was sooo out of wack it's not even funny. And no, I didn't work out either :(
What is wrong with me?
I just want to go to bed and wake up to a new day and a new fresh start. After all, I have a challlenge to win :D
Ok, THINKING POSITIVE ohmmmm.
Ok, tomorrow I will be a good girl and do what I need to do to rid myself of this bondage. The fat shakels.
Have a wonderful healthy tomorrow.
Darlene :hippy:
Big Red 01-07-03, 11:05 AM Everyone has an off day. Pick yourself up :whip:
Today is a new day and you will do better!:coach:
Julie
Darlene - each minute is a new start if you look at it......
So you don't have to wait until a actual new day to get back on track :)
Jade
fleureange 01-07-03, 07:06 PM January 7 2002,
Hi Julie, thanks for reminding me that today is a new day. It really is. I'm doing better.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jade, what you say is very true. I too look at it like that. I usually say to myself that the next thing to enter my mouth will be healthy and part of my program.
I said I couldn't wait till tomorrow because it was so late at night and I knew I wouldn't be eating anything else nor would I have time for exercise. I really am glad that day is over.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, I did well so far today.
BREAKFAST
1 ff yogurt
1 C granola crunch cereal
LUNCH
lean cuisine- ravioli
banana
2 tangerines
DINNER- not sure yet, but I'm thinking about grilled chicken breast. I just am not hungery right now.
I did manage to get up on the treadmill for 10 min today. I know 10 min isn't long, but my back is still out of whack. It is really bad today so I don't want to push it.
I have been to the chiropractor a few times, including yesterday, and he says I have a strained joint.
It's been about 10 days now, and today hurts like it did the first day or two. He said It could take two to three weeks to heal.
I'm nervous about going to work tomorrow. Ihope my back can handle it. I HAVE to go.
Any way, I guess I'll head to my bed early tonight. I'm feeling very tired.
Nighty night all.
Darlene :hippy:
mcmarto 01-07-03, 10:39 PM Hey Fleur!
So sorry to hear you had a whacky food day yesterday!...But why don't you just consider it your free day?...I took a mini-calendar and I highlighted every 10 days in a different color...I allow myself a free day in those 10 days.........every 10 days!...Not a go crazy and eat everything in sight day...but indulge a little and I don't worry about counting calories!...I just had one on Saturday!...I have another one coming up this Sunday!...I have been trying to figure out where I want to go for dinner...its exciting to pre-plan!
Well...I am glad to hear (not) that you are back on track today...heeheehee..."Hey...I got a competition to win!"...but seriously...good job!...
Take care,,
Lizzie B 01-08-03, 12:41 AM Hi Darlene,
Darn hope that back gets better real soon. Since you are going to work with a sore back be very careful at work. Try to avoid all the hard work you can. (I do that everyday!!)
Everyone is right just keep starting over. I do every morning!! And, would you believe it works!! For me anyway. I could never be an any program longer than 24 hours. Sooooooooo I start over every morning!! Works great!!
Is the WW plan getting any easier to follow. If not let me know how I can help!!
Take it easy on your back!!
Love and hugs,
Lizzie
Big Red 01-08-03, 10:24 AM Glad to see you are back on track with the program. I did like mcmarto's idea...think I will try it also. thanks for the tip.
Hope the back is feeling better soon.
Julie
fleureange 01-08-03, 02:03 PM January 8 2003
Wow, thanks everyone for your support. I sure feel better having it. I really couldn't do this alone. The guilt over a slip would send me over the edge if not for my sisters here at DT talking me down.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mcmarto, first of all, how did you pick your screen name? I've always wondered LOL
I really like your idea. I've heard of doing it with a week, but 10 days sounds better to me. That's 3 a month. Sounds like I may be able to live with that. Although in my case, I don't think I'd plan those days unless I had an event to attend. This way when those slips occure I can remind myself that I am intitled. Just have to keep them 10 days apart LOL. I'll try that thanks.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wand, My back is killing me. I'm wondering if the chiropracter didn't do something to make it flare up like it did in the first place. It hurts so much I have a hard time breathing sometimes. I NEED DRUGS LOL.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lizzie, I also like the idea of starting over everyday. I will try to think of everyday as a new begining to my program. After all, I guess it is. A friend once told me she was on a diet, but only for today. Tomorrow she can eat whatever she wants. As you know, tomorrow never comes, because it then turns into today. Get it?
Any way, I'm going to look forward to each day as a fresh start. I only have to get through today. Exercise today.
I did like you said. I didn't work hard. I hadn't even read your post yet LOL
WW is getting easier. I'm getting the hang of the points. I love those recipes too. I still can't get them into my files :( I just don't know what else to do. RT clicking is not giving me a "save as" option. Oh well, I'll just save them all to my favorites till I can figure it out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Julie, thanks for stopping in. I hope Mcmarto's idea works for you too. I know I'm going to mark my calender now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well as I've mentioned, my back is killing me. I see the chiropracter tomorrow. I can't wait!!!!!
I worked today, but I didn't get everything done. I moved to slow to finish it in 4 hours. Oh well, what else could I do. I would have called in, but these people really need me. So now here I am, trying to cope till tomorrow. Is it tomorrow yet??:(
I guess that's all that's new. I really doubt I'll attempt any exercise today. :c( The only exercise I'm trying is the two stretches the chiropracter gave me.
Did I mention..... I WAAAAAANT DRUGS????? LOL
Well, I hope you are all feeling healthy, eating right and exercising your way to a new you.
have a great day
Darlene :hippy:
Darlene - what is your job? as in what do you do? could it be your job hurting your back as well?
I have such a bad back and with cleaning about 10 - 12 hours a day I know how careful one has to be and I also know all about wanting DRUGS lol ;)
I understand about chirp. sometimes mine helps and other times I think he makes it worse ........sigh
Hope you get feeling better real soon!
Jade
fleureange 01-08-03, 08:20 PM Hi Jade,
I too clean houses. Well, I only clean 2 houses right now and that's only 6 hours once a week. Today I only did one for four hours.
No, I know that's not what hurt my back. This happend between Christmas and New Years. I was off for two weeks before Christmas and today was my first day back.
I sure hope this chiropracter knows what he's doing. I hope tomorrow when I go he can do something to get rid of this pain.
Have a great night.

Ruthieb 01-08-03, 11:38 PM Hello Darlene, How are you doing hope your back gets better, the wind is howling here right now kind of freaked me out for a minute. Anyway you remember we all have bad days we are human and remember this to shall pass. Hang in there girlfriend!!! Ruthieb
Boy, I sure hope your back feels better soon. That's so hard! I have been feeling really sore in my arms ever since I tried doing weight training about 3 days ago. Wish I had done a little less, or started with lighter weights, so I could try again and start building up. Oh well, live and learn, right?
Thanks for visiting my journal! I'm happy to be in that inch pincher's challenge, too, but I don't think I'll win -- would love to see you win it all! :)
Take it easy and keep pluggin' with the food... you're doing it!
Lisrey :wave:
sandielynne 01-09-03, 12:21 AM Hello Darlene,
Sorry your back is bothering you so badly. Hope it feels better real soon. That's a horrid bummer.
Just wanted to pop in and say hello. Trying to do a little catching up, but I never really get there...........LOL.
Take care now and be good to yourself.
Keep smiling...........:)
Sandie
fleureange 01-09-03, 03:49 PM January 9, 2003.- Already!
Thanks Ruthie, I feel much stronger today food wise. Back was bad this AM, but is better now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lisrey, as much as it hurts, I love workout pain. It hurts so good. This back however, isn't workout related. It's keeping me from it.
As to the challenge, you sure could win. But, sorry, I'm gonna LOL. Really, you can do it. Come on, lets all be winners and lose those inches.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sandie, I know just what you mean about not ever catching up. I try to post in as many journals as I can, and feel bad I can't get to them all. Happens every time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Got to see the chiropracter this morning. Ah, what a relief. I was just as bad this morning as it ever was. He didn't think it was his doing, but I know it was. I just wanted him to fix it. So with electrodes and heat and ultrasound, it feels better. He also lent me a back support. (I feel like I'm wearing a gun holster) Man, does that feel better. I also bought some pain meds he recommended. It seems to be helping too. The only thing that hurt was when he hammered my back. I screamed, and he kept doing it, so I kept screaming. LOL How embarrasing, but I just couldn't help it.
I'm hoping to get up on the treadmill tonight. Even if it's only 10 min an very low speed. At least it's something.
My food has been good today.
BREAKFAST
ff yogurt
1 C granola crunch cereal
SNACK
LF fruit explosion muffin
McD's garden salad/FL italian dressing.(1/2 pouch)
McD's fruit parfait.
It's almost 3 and I haven't done lunch yet. I guess I had better get on it or I'll miss it which wouldn't be good.
I'll be back tonight to report the rest of my food an hopfully some exercise.
Have a great day.
Darlene
:hippy:
mcmarto 01-09-03, 08:53 PM Gosh...I would have screamed too!
I would hate it if I had to go to the chiropractor...hahahaha...
Glad you are feeling better!
mcmarto
tmayder 01-09-03, 09:51 PM I'm sorry to hear about your back problem, Darlene. You are way too young for that!!!
I am still trying to catch up at the moment, but I did want to thank you for visiting my journal while I was away.... you are so sweet!!!
Hugs!
Linda
fleureange 01-10-03, 12:06 AM Mcmarto, I am feeling better thanks. I don't know which thing helped, the treatment, the brace thingie or the meds, but I feel normal.
Now, watch out, cause here I come LOL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey Linda, I'm so glad your back. i missed ya. I'll have to go check your journal for all the updates. Thanks for stopping in here. I know how hard it is to catch up after being away for a while.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, the rest of my day only got better. I feel great! I could run a marathon. Would probably die within a few feet, but, I feel like I could at least make it to a run LOL.
fleureange 01-10-03, 12:02 PM January 10 2003
Morning everyone.
Just taking a little break to come here and post real quick.
My back was a bit sore this morning, not as bad as it was though. Put my support thingie on and took my meds, now it feels as good as new.
I have managed to find my kitche counters this morning :D After two weeks of back pain, things are starting to get back to normal.
My food this morning...
BREAKFAST
1 ff yogurt
1/2 C granola crunch cereal
1 banana
It's getting close to lunch, and I'm hungry. I think I'll have left over roast beef on a tortilla with lots of veggies.
Till later then,
Darlene
Big Red 01-10-03, 01:03 PM Glad to see you are feeling a bit better. Don't get overly confident and do too much. Sorry, motherly concern coming out.
Julie
add another mother ~:> to your list Darlene lol
Be careful with having back troubles my friend -
Your eating is :super:
Jade
fleureange 01-10-03, 07:05 PM Thanks MOMS, :D
I feel great. It seems the more I do, the better I feel. I just take the meds as recomended, and they are working super.
Ever have one of those days you just can't stop eating? Today was one of those days for me. Everything I ate was healthy, but still, it seemed nothing could fill me.
LUNCH
1 tortilla
1 3 oz roast beef
3 C salad
LF italian dressing.
SNACKS
tortilla 2oz cheese
1/2 can fruit cocktail
2 oranges
1/2 C grapes
1 ff yogurt
1/2 C granola crunch cereal
DINNER
1.5 C mashed potato - skim/ no butter
2 C veggies
I guess I need to take a look at what I'm trying to feed. What I mean is, is there some need I'm trying to fill? or an emptiness ?
I know I had an argument with my hubby. He was upset I was on the computer and threatened to put a pass word on it. That got me upset.
Well, I gess we'll see what happens with that.
At any rate, that must be what set me off. At least I didn't go into a tail spin and eat sweets. I hope I'm done eating for the night!
Have a great night.
Darlene :hippy:
mcmarto 01-10-03, 08:43 PM Hey Fleur!
What is up with the password thing?...My DH constantly walks by to see who I am talking to...he thinks I have an online boyfriend!...Puh-lease!
Yesterday I was a bit upset and I chose to walk on the treadmill!...Mickeyvoll said it was a good choice cause I can't feel guilty about that.......but I would have felt guilty if I would have eaten something bad!.....It really made sense!...Instead I felt good about myself!
Congrats on not going too crazy with the food!
How many calories do you eat a day?...Do you count?
mcmarto
mcmarto 01-10-03, 08:44 PM Oh yeah...almost forgot...Have you ever tried Kashi...Good Friends cereal?...Well...it is not super tasty...but ok...and it has only 150 calories and 10 grams of fiber per cup!
mcmarto
Ruthieb 01-10-03, 09:00 PM Hello, I wanted to stop by and tell you to have a great weekend. Ruthieb
Darlene the password "talk" would be enough to make me stress eat - so you may be right. I am happy if you are stress eating you are choicing healthy foods :)
I agree with mcmarto whats with the password thing?
Tell hubby you'll put a password on something and he won't be able to guess it :o lol
No, really I feel bad for you........
Jade
fleureange 01-12-03, 11:39 PM January 12 2003
Hello Jade, Ruthie and Mcmarto. Thanks for stopping by.
Boy, I missed posting yesterday and it feels like forever.
What a terrible weekend.
My hubby wants to put a lockout password on out computer to keep me from getting on it. He thinks I spend to much time on it.
Mcmarto, he thinks I have an online boyfriend too. That has to be the craziest thing I ever heard. Not only am I not that kind of person, but has he even looked my way in the past 12 years??
Yesterday was the bottom of the pit for me.
Dan got pissed at me AGAIN.
My g-pa's brother died and I told him I wanted to go to the funeral. He flipped. He flipped because i wanted to be there for the whole event for my g-pa too.
Anyway, he said I couldn't go because the house hasn't been cleaned in two weeks.
He made it sound like I sat on my fat ass for two weeks eating bon bons watching Jenny Jones and Jerry Springer. NOT. Oh, maybe I sat here on the puter for 2 weeks, that's it.
Anyway, I got so depressed.
I had nasty thoughts about myself. How I feel I just can't measure up and how I'm not good enough.
To top it all off, after he pretty much said I did nothing for two weeks, I go fall down a flight of stairs.
I'm ok, but my ass is bruised beyond belief, and my back is as bad as it ever was. I got up from the bottom of the stairs and in a state of pain and shock, I kept saying, I have to clean the house, I have to clean the house.
My kids thought I had lost it.
I think they were right.
Dan was still mad at me later on last night, and he said if I didn't get away from him, he'd throw me down the stairs. I just started laughing.
You know, it really is getting to the point that I wish he would.
Can you believe I said that? I can't.
Inside I just feel so empty.
I am just about to the point of not feeling anything any more.
You know, I just wish for once he would appologise tp me. He doesn't believe in it. He says it doesn't bother him not to be forgiven for something. He doesn't need anyones forgivness.
I just wish for once he would think about what I need.
Can you believe he won't let me go to my Uncle's funeral? Won't LET me. Like a child. I need permission.
Now I now what your thinking. Tell him you're going.
you both need counciling
kick him to the curb.
I agree with all those.
So hard to stand up for yourself when you have been conditioned to believe you're a pee on.
Just so you know, he has never hit me. I wouldn't put up with that. That's were I draw the line.
Anyway. I have been stress eating.
The nasty thoughts of starving myself or vomiting came to my mind. How sick is that.
Like I said, it was a bad weekend.
Well, I'm going to head to bed. My back is killing me and I feel ill.
please don't worry about me, I just needed to vent.
Darlene:hippy:
sandielynne 01-13-03, 12:24 AM My goodness Darlene,
You couldn't PAY me enough to stay in that house with that man. There just isn't enough money on the face of this earth to make up for the disgusting way he treats you. And if you don't grow to understand fully the abuse you are allowing him to throw on you, you will just continue to struggle with yourself stuck in a no-where situation forever.
I just don't know what to say to convince you that the smartest move you could possibly make would be to get away from that situation. But like so many others, you will probably think you deserve all this malarky from some strange unknown reason.
Well you don't! And you never did. I don't care what you have ever said or done, it doesn't deserve such disrespect and contempt as he shows you.
Sorry about that rampage. I'm much too emotional a person. I do hope the week brings you better days and lots of sunshine. You sure need it.
Hugz,
Sandie
fleureange 01-13-03, 07:17 PM January 13 2003
Sandie, I know you are so right! I know deep down I don't deserve this treatment. On a day to day basis, I am treated well. It just seems to come and go in spurts.
I foolishly keep waiting for him to discover the error in his ways.
He once treated me much the same as he is now, and I left him. It was only for a night, but that was enough. It woke him up and we got counciling for a few months. He quit after the councler pointed out his treatment of me. He admitted it and corrected it for about 2 years.
Just seems like we're getting back to that same old treatment.
I know it will take a big push to get him to wake up again.
I can't blame all of this on him. I have allowed it to happen. That is were I went wrong.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, on the brighter side, today is my son's 8th birthday. Did I say brighter side??? Today is my son's 8th birthday :c( I'm getting old LOL.
My food is still not up to snuff. Tomorrow is a new day and I am commited to getting off this merry go round and start working on my food plan. I need to do this.
I really can't wait till I can use my treadmill and workout gym. Once this back heals, I'll be free to get fit.
WEll, I guess that's all for tonight.
Darlene
wanderer1 01-13-03, 08:07 PM Darlene,,
I didn't respond as I really didn't know what to say more than what Sandy stated.. I agree whole heartedly with her.. Please don't allow this to continue, as your son needs a better example of how to treat women..
Happy birthday to your son,, that is such an exciting age,, I loved it. being it and having children that age.. But they are learning how to treat people at this age (as well as younger)
Now watch the cake...
mcmarto 01-14-03, 12:02 AM So sorry to hear you have been blue!
and that you hurt yourself when you fell!
But girl...you need to get back on plan...or I am going to win!...You don't want me to win!...Do you?
Tomorrow will be a better day........
mcmarto
Fleur, I am so sorry that you are still hurting... I don't know anything about your situation with your husband, and I don't think anyone who isn't intimate with it can really advise you there. You have to do what your heart tells you to do. But I know that you are a wonderful person, deserving of love and respect. It's very sad if your husband doesn't recognize that, but that's his problem, not yours. Remember what Eleanor Roosevelt said: "Nobody can make you feel inferior without your permission."
I hope you are feeling better soon and can get back on plan. We are here for you!
Lisrey :cheer:
wanderer1 01-14-03, 12:47 AM Darlene,, take care girl, and get back with the program, You will feel more in control of something at leas..
I apologize for butting in with my 2 cents worth.. It is so true, no one can know how you feel with out walking in your shoes..
Hope your back is better soon
Darlene - Please know I am here for you :hug:
I agree that getting back on your program will help you feel more in control.
As you know from getting to know me here at DT - I live with a Yo Yo husband. I call him a yo yo ( privately lol ) as sometimes he is up, sometimes he is down and does the same to me, but none the less I always feel like I am on his string.
I chose to stay for my own reasons - so i won't tell you to leave. I will tell you though that IF you chose to stay, you MUST figure out how to be ok with yourself.
This is very confusing and hard to explain in writing but I will try my best to be here for you :)
Jade
fleureange 01-14-03, 04:36 PM January 14 2003
Lisrey, Thanks for the quote, I love it and it is soooo true. I will try to remember this at all times.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wand, Pleas don't opologize. Your two cents, as well as everyone elses, is always welcome.
Thanks for understanding. It may be foolish of me to stay, but I do love the creep some times.:) I just have to learn to let him have his anger, I don't need to borrow his and take it on as my own.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jade, I remember you telling us a bit about Mr. Yo Yo :) Not fun, I know.
You are right, I have to find a way to be ok with myself. That is what I'm going to work on so that I will not feel so bad about myself the next time this happens. And I know there will be a next time. :(
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mcmarto, you are so cute. you still think you're gonna win this thing eh? you poor girl, Tisk tisk tisk. *sigh* I'm just gonna have to get my butt back on program and show you how it's done. LOL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, my back is still killing me. I called my clients for tomorrow and canceled. There is just no way I can clean house. Other people's house that is.
Food wise, today is still not good, but for another reason.
I ate a good breakfast.
1 ff yogurt
1/2 C granola crunch cereal
but, that's all I've had all day. It is now 3:30. I'm not usually one to skip meals, but I just havn't been hungry. To me, not eating is just as bad as over eating. Isn't it?
I hope this back gets better soon. I really want to exercise, but I am so afraid to try as the pain is so bad right now.
Any who, I'm going to clean up a bit and try to relax this back.
Darlene :hippy:
mcmarto 01-14-03, 07:31 PM Get better soon!
TOM just arrived today and I am miserable!...But...I have to fight it...I must...I just want to eat and sleep!...I did take a nap today......can't get back into the workout thing until Friday...so I guess what I am saying is I am giving you a few days to ... try ... and catch up!...hahahahahaha!
mcmarto
fleureange 01-14-03, 07:51 PM I caught that -TRY! LOL Thanks alot hehehehe . sMCMARTie pants :D
So that's where TOM went. HE just left here Saturday.
Darlene :hippy:
Lizzie B 01-14-03, 08:11 PM Hi Darlene,
I cannot help but feel the same way Sandie does about the Dh situation. The only thing I would suggest is for you to have a back up plan in case you need it. I will tell you straight up my DH is an ass part of the time but I will not be controlled. Talk about you differences of opinion. We have a kitchen right now that does not have cabinet doors because we either one would agree on which to buy!! Been that way for 25 years plus only recently have i decided it no longer mattered what was there. Please for your own sake have a backup plan that only you know. Men can be such assholes sometimes!!!
Anyway hope you are staying on program and taking care of that back. Treat yourself with some TLC no matter what else you are told you are worth it!!
Just stopped by to say hello and have a good day. I know you were venting and good that you can do that here. Take care and love yourself you are a very valuable person and besides God only made one of you !!!!!!!
Love and big hugs,
Lizzie
fleureange 01-15-03, 05:52 PM January 15 2003
Lizzie, I see what you'r saying. I should stick to my guns a bit more. You are right too. I just find it hard to break old habbits. It's something I need to work on.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today has been a bit better. DH has been in a good mood for the little I've seen him.
My back is starting to feel better, for now anyway. I see the chiropracter tomorrow.
Food hasn't been that bad, not the best, but not bad either. I'm hoping to get on the treadmill tonight.
I am feeling stronger now. I think once this back feels better, I will follow my program much better. Now I'm not using this as an excuse, but after having a hard time with my back, being healthy will give me the opertunity to eat healthy and exercise. Health was always something I took for granted. Not being able to bend down to look for the veggies i wanted, or stand long enough to cook them was a real eye opener. I'm now looking forward to doing these things.
Come on back, heal will ya. I'm falling behind in the inch pinchers challenge.
I need to stay positive and focused.
ok, *deep breath*, I'm going to do this!
Have a great day.
Darlene
Big Red 01-15-03, 05:54 PM You can do this....you can stay focused!
Glad to hear the back is feeling better
Julie
mcmarto 01-15-03, 07:46 PM You will be back on track in no time!
Don't you worry...with TOM in town...I won't do a minute of exercise...I am to weak!...hehehehehehe!
Glad to hear the DH is in better spirits!
mcmarto
fleureange 01-15-03, 09:30 PM Thanks Julie, I need to hear that - OVER AND OVER AND OVER lol.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mcmarto, I guess since you are weak, it's time for me to pass on the inside lane hmmm? Going to have to use these next few days to get caught up at least. :D
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You know it's funny, they say laughter is contagious, and if I didn't know it before, I know it now. My little one bumped her head and after I knew she was ok and her crying slowed down, she asked me for a fruit roll up. Now, I was planning on giving her one anyway, but since she had just hurt herself, I din't want her to assosiate the two together. So when she asked, I started to laugh my fool head off (faking). All three kids joined in and then so did I for real. We laugher for about 10 min. Before long, she forgot she had hurt herself and I gave them the snack before bed. What a great time. I love those moments.
I forgot to mention, I have been eating lots of beans lately. Pinto, navy, kidney, fava, you name it, I eat it. My hubby made a crack about how beans make you fart. Now my four year old wants to eat them all the time so she can fart! Can you imagin?
I'm in the grocery store, and she says "mom we need to get more fart beans, I love to fart" She said this out loud. I just wanted to die, LOL. I guess that's the joy of being 4, you can get away with saying that. Can you imagin me, at 31 saying that? I'd be comitted for sure, LOL.
Anywho, thought I'd share.
Have a great night.
Darlene :hippy:
Minnie mouse 01-15-03, 09:43 PM That is so funny about your girl and the "fart beans"
and no we couldnt get away with saying that.
that is the joy of being a kid.
farts,poop and other things make kids burst with laughter. i know it does for mine and it did for me and sis as kids.
some things dont change.
but the beans are good for you too.
take care!
hey dar !
that was too cute !! to feel as free as a 4 yr old huh too funny
and since laughter IS the best medicine your back should be feeling good soon!
I sure hope so anyways
you will feel like a million bucks
hope you have a great day tomorrow
:hug:
Peng
fleureange 01-16-03, 06:43 PM January 16 2002
Hi Minnie and Pengii. How you two been doing? Glad you guys could make it in here.
I tell ya, Bry-Anne is quite the kid. That was YESTERDAY!
Today at the chiropracter's, she was telling "DR. Dan" how much she likes him and that he is her best friend. She loves everybody.
We then went to the pet store for hamster food and they had a small puppy running around. This tiny thing jumped up on Bry-Anne knocking her over, and started licking her all over her face while she laughed. I wish I'd had a video camera. I'd be $10,000 richer right now. I was the cutes thing.
I have been on the go all day. I think I've been to every store in town today. Run here, run there. The little one is out at a birthday party right now. I'll have to pick her up at 6:30 and drop my oldest off at her tutors for the same time. I need to stop at the bank (ATM) Then to a friend's house to do the Christmas exchange. Then pick up dd at 7:30.
Man, I'm tired just thinking about it.
Anyway, my back is feeling much better. Still wearing the support thingie and taking the drugs. Running out of those!!
I sorta mentioned getting up on the treadmill to the chiro. and he said no way, not yet. I on the other hand, really want to get to it. I'll just take it slow and easy and won't do long periods of time on it.
My food today was really good. Not being home really helped I think.
fleureange 01-17-03, 03:46 PM January 17 2003,
Ruthie, I'm just very impatient to get started on my new equipment Santa brought me. It took 3 days to get the stuff put together, then the next day, I hurt my back. It just isn't fair. I will def take it slow. I sure don't want that pain to return! But I need to get my whole self in the right frame of mind.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Julie, LOL, aren't kids great. My hubby is the typical guy too. He's a cut'm and leave'm kind of guy. He leaves them for us!
He use to pe so proud of his gas. (Just like a man) I say use to for a very good reason. hehehe (evil laugh)
We had gone to the pet store one day, (I can't believe I'm telling you this story :o ) He went in, and I stayed in the van. While he was gone, I let a little one slip ;) He just happend to come back to the van at that time. He opened the door and walked into a wall of ....how did he put it........noctious gas. heheeh. He gaged and wouldn't get in the van for 5 min. That tought him a little lesson :D
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now that I've grossed everyone out, So far so good today.
No back pain to speek of. It was a bit stiff this morning, but nothing I can't live with.
BREAKFAST
1 ff yogurt
1/2 C granola cereal
LUNCH
2 sm tortillas
2 C italian style frozen veggies
3tbs ff sour cream
SNACK
Timmy's coffee/3 milks
Been trying to get this house cleaned. What a mess. If I don't do it, it doesn't get done.
Mcmarto- there are two questions you asked me which I didn't ever answer. For the life of me, I don't know why. Anyway, you asked me if I had ever heard of the cereal you eat. The answer is no. I've never heard of it and I can't recall ever seeing it in the store. That's the drag about being in Canada. Our selections are not always the same. I will however look for it the next time I shop. Ten grams of fiber per serving is great.
Next you asked me if I was back to work yet. I only work one day a week. (Wed) The 8th was my first day back and it was only 1/2 day so it wasn't to bad. Then I went and fell down the stairs and made a worse mess of my back so I called in this past Wed. I think I'll be able to go next week. I should be ok enough to work for one day.
Sorry for the delay in the answers.
Well, I guess that's all I have for now.
Take care.
Remember, we will do this. It's our year to get fit, healthy and shed these pounds.
Have a good one.
MadMarnDZ 01-17-03, 05:20 PM Hi Darlene!!
Sorry to hear you hurt your back. Hope it gets better soon as I know how bad back pain is. Not fun at all so rest up and soon you can get back on track and get to :ex: away.
Kids, got to love them. The things that come out of their mouths or other places. We were eating at a Mexican restaurant, me, hubby our 3 year old and 1 year old and the 3 year is hanging over the backside of the booth looking at a baby behind him (he loves babies) and he is leaning over and then cracks a big fart as loud as can be and we were so :o . He just turns around and looks at us like we are the ones that did it. Thank goodness he was sitting by hubby! hee hee
Well, I'm off before my c/p shuts down. Just wanted to :hop: in and say "hi"!!!
Take care
Hey Fleur,
Glad your back is feeling better. Take is slow and easy though, I have been there and it is no good having a bad back.
I love to read your stories of your family. Sounds like you have some precious little treasures there.
mcmarto 01-17-03, 08:39 PM Girl...you have to walk faster then that to catch up with me!
hahahah...Just kidding...I am a slow poke...I only average 2.5-2.8 miles per hour on my treadmill...If I go 3.0 that's fast for me!...Eventually I hope I can walk a little faster!
Watch out...I was back at Curves today...and...I walked for 20 mins!
Bettyboop 01-17-03, 09:20 PM Hi Darlene, Just finished reading your journal and boy I can understand why you said you identified with me because I certainly can identify with you except that now I am divorced. I hope that you and your hubby can work out your problems. I'm just trying to take it one day at a time. Do the best I can with each day. Find a reason to smile. Get outside at least once everyday. I've kept my resolutions to a minimum.. adding one each week... this week it's just to get to all my appts. and get out of the house everyday. Get at least 5 min of excercise every day I know that is VERY very minimal but I know that I can accomplish it because the last thing I need right now is more failure. I'm seeing a councellor right now and I love keeping a journal here for all the fresh perspectives and new friendships I feel I've been making. I look forward to getting to know you this coming year and wow your kids sound so sweet and precious. You are so lucky to have them. God bless our kids. I can't wait to see mine tonight. Going to go for a walk now. Have a nice evening and I hope you get to feeling better asap!
Bettyboop:wave:
Oh My Goodness! :rofl: that last several posts here PROVES that we women will talk about anything to each other ;)
darlene men think we women should not leave stinkers lol
It's a MAN thing!!!!!!!!! lol
I finally have mine agreeing to not do this at the dinner table! GROSS!!!!
So sorry your back is still giving you pain. I really feel bad for you my friend. I hurt mine once right after I joined an exercise challenge here at DT and could not finish the challenge as I was "down" for like 6 weeks...........sigh
Hope yours gets better REAL soon!
Jade
fleureange 01-18-03, 10:29 PM January 18 2003
Marn, LOL, got to love that 3-4 year old stage. They do the craziest things. Things that you just have to remember so that one day you can tell your grand kids ;) hehehehe
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thanks for stopping by Nancy. Oh, I've been meaning to tell you I love your avatar. So nice to have a face to go with the name. I love your smile.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mcmarto, watch out, here I come. I'm feeling great and I am now ready to begin my program on all levels.
A 3 day TOM? Man, are you lucky!
You got it sooo right, we are all winners in this challenge. To lose 1 inche is worth so much.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Betty, I'm so glad to see you. Thanks for stopping by.
I couldn't help but identify with your journal, it's so me all over again.
I'm so glad you're doing well and that you have a great plan to make this year a wonderful and succeesfull one.
We will reach our goals.
I hope you have a great visit with your son.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jade, :o I'm so glad I can just type those types of stories, I can't imagin telling it in person LOL.
Men! They invented "pull my finger" and they don't expect us to catch on and do the same.
The difference is, we know the time and place as you mentioned. Men think it's ok to do it at the kitchen table during a meal. You're right, that's gross. We women have to teach them. :D
I know what you mean about missing the challenge. I've missed two weeks of the inch pincers challenge, and the walkers challenge. :( I'm well on my way to health now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My back is feeling good now. In the mornings it's a bit stiff, but it gets better after moving around. I'm out of drugs and I've decided not to buy any more. I don't think I need them any more.
Today's food was ok but for a few Timbits. (donut holes) But I won't let them worry me because I am taking Macmarto's advice and having a free day every 10 days(or more).
BREAKFAST
1 ff yogurt
1/2 C granola cereal
banana
LUNCH
3 C lettuce
2 tsp sunflower seeds
2 tangerines
2 tbs dried cranberries

SNACK

(planing on trying some tabouli later.)
I did a workout on my weider gym. 3 sets of 10 reps.
I hope to do a bit more tomorrow.
Took a peek this morning at the scale. Looks like I'm down 3 lbs, but I'm not updating my stats until Monday.
You know what's weird? Since I've been back on program, I sit and watch all kinds of fitness infomercials. For this gaget, or that video. To me, it doesn't matter what they are selling, because what they are all giving me is motivation, inspiration and hope. Maybe it's silly, but it's helping me stay focused.
One month from today, I will see HIM. Jon Bon Jovi. *sigh* What a man. My daughter thinks he looks like a girl, HA! Anyway, I can't wait till the concert. I just love their music.
Tomorrow is Reilly's big day. He will be goalie for the first time. He is playing the undefeated black team. (Not good for his confidence) I've been trying to get him mentaly ready for it. I think he is.
So, after his game, we're having a small birthday party with a few of his friends from school. I know his birthday was on Monday and we should have had any party last weekend but my back was just so whacked that I put it off a week. I doubt he'll mind.
Well. anyway I had best do some last minute cleaning for this party, then head to bed.
Have a great night.
Darlene :hippy:

Cheers,
That's great news that your back is getting better! It is sure no fun to be laid up and unable to exercise... especially when you have that shiny new equipment waiting for you, I'm sure. You'll be sweating the pounds off in no time now! :)
Congratulations on the three pounds, too! :ribbon: That's great! We are doing it this year!!!

Hi Monica, thanks for stopping in and checking on me. I need that to stay motivated.
About the water, I haven't been drinking any at all.:( But now that I'm able to exercise, that is going to change.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lisrey, thanks for that pep talk. You bet I'll be sweating!!! And I'm going to give that new equipment a real test.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Kellie, Thanks for dropping in and cheering me on.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi there LindaH, thanks for stopping in. Very nice to meet you and I hope you drop in again soon.
I've lost 8 lbs in one week once, but I'll take the 3 lbs. I'm not proud :D
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Wand, Ok, I'll give you a week, but then I want you right back here, ok? We'll miss ya.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, Reilly had his hockey game this morning. Poor guy. they lost 7 to 3. He looked good in the net, but they played the best team and they are undefreated. STILL.
Oh well, better luck next time.
He had his little b-day party. I think they had loads of fun, and I lived to tell about it LOL.
Food today was good.
BREAKFAST
1 ff yogurt
1/2 C granola crunch cereal
LUNCH
3 sm WW tortillas
3 tsp FF sour cream
1/3 C tabouli
1/2 C lettuce
1/2 C ground chicken
No dinner yet.
As of tomorrow morning, I will be officially weighing in and starting my program. I will get up early and exercise.
Planned exercise:
30 min treadmil
20 min aerobics
3 sets on weider
break out the Verdal book and weights and see what happens.
I will take 2 whole hours for me. To workout and to relax in a hot bubble bath. To do this, I must be up at 4:45. I will be up, and I will do this. FOR ME.
So, this means I will go to bed by 10. FOR ME.
I want to do this everyday. FOR ME
I will drink my water FOR ME
I will eal a healthy diet with lots of fruits and veggies, FOR ME
I will limit my intake of carbs and protien, and chose them wisely. FOR ME
I will no longer eat anything after 6pm FOR ME
These are the things I will do to ensure the success of my program.
I will also reach out for help when ever I need it. At any time, as often as I need to FOR MEEEEEE.
I will ask myself the following questions when tempted:
1- is this part of my program?
2- will this help my weight loss efforts?
3- how will eating this food make me feel?
4-why do I really want to eat this food?
5-why THIS food and not something else?
I will put up every roadblock I can to stop myself from giving up. I will succeed.
I will not quit.
Ok, that's my pep talk.
:coach:
Have a great week everyone.
Darlene :hippy:
mcmarto 01-19-03, 10:06 PM Yeah baby!
You can do it!...You will do it!
Just remember...time will go by whether you eat right and exercise...so just do it!
Good for you...congrats on the weight loss!
Keep up the good work!
mcmarto
fleureange 01-20-03, 10:03 AM January 20 2003
Thanks Mcmarto, your right, time will pass no matter what. Whether I eat right and exercise or not. So, I had better get my butting gear and spend my time losing rather than gaining.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After that being said, I did not exercise this morning. I found my sleep so much more attractive. But sleep will not get this weight off me. So, now that I am up, I am heading down to the basement to walk the treadmil.
BREAKFAST
1 ff yogurt
1/2 C granola crunch cereal
I will succeed today. I only need to do this today ONLY TODAY. That sounds doable to me.
Have a great day.
Don't forget to make time for exercise and drink all your water.
mcmarto 01-20-03, 11:59 AM Hey Fleur!
Did you make it to the treadmill!
I had plans to go to Curves today...but I woke up a little sore!...I think I am just staying home and doing my 2 mile tape or the treadmill...I usually don't workout on Mondays cause I am so busy with work and night class...but today I am off!
I just kind of want to relax...but...I need to move a little!
Oh well...only time will tell!
Have fun today!
mcmarto
Big Red 01-20-03, 01:40 PM Keep up the good work. Congrats on the 3 pounds!
Glad to hear the back is doing better.
Take care,
fleureange 01-20-03, 05:41 PM Thanks Julie, I was actually surprised to see the 3 lbs loss. I just didn't have my heart into it. I sure do now!
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Mcmarto, That's right, today is Martin Luther King day in the US. (what a man he was!)
I heard his whole "I have a dream" speach yesterday for the first time. Very moving.
So, no curves. Ok, I hope you got to those tapes, cause I sure did get on the treadmill. I managed to do 30 minutes.
I'm hopeing to do the weider later.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
My food has been great today.
BREAKFAST
1 ff yogurt
1/2 C granola crunch cereal
LUNCH
3 sm tortillas
3 1/2 oz ground chicken
3 oz tabouli
1/2 C lettuce
I see I need to have more veggies and fruit. So tonight that will be my focus for my meal. I will also not be eating after 6pm.
I have had most of my water today too. I use a water jug that has an insulated cover with a handle and a removable strap. It's great for walking. It holds 1L of water and I drink 2 a day. I have less then half left to drink.
I will make it.
bye for now
Darlene :hippy:
fleureange 01-20-03, 09:07 PM Hello again.
And well you should be proud! Sounds like you had a fabulous back-on-track kind of day!! :up: How are you liking your treadmill now that you're getting to use it? Did you get a chance to use the gym? I'm looking forward to seeing you turn this into a "roll!" You can do it!
Lisrey :tongue:arty:
Bettyboop 01-21-03, 12:44 AM What is tabouli ? Sounds like a yummy dinner :)
fleureange 01-21-03, 10:06 AM January 21 2003
Hi Lisrey, I feel like I'm back on track.
I love the treadmill. I love the fact that I can watch a movie or whatever show may be on and I can forget that I'm even walking. I can see me staying on alot longer once I get use to it.
No, sadly I never got to use my gym. I'm hoping to today as well as free weights. I know how important it is to build muscle to increase fat burning.
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
Hi Betty, tabouli is a middle eastern dish (I think). It's made from bulgur wheat,(what ever that is). The mix I have is a garden salad mix. Add hot water, let it sit in the fridge for an hour and your set to go. It looks funny. Green and white flakes/balls. It has an interesting texture and it is a bit strong. It also has a hint of garlic. It says to eat it cold, but I put it in my tortilla or pita with ground chicken and heat it in the microwave. It is delish.
I don't think I could eat it plain. The flavor by it's self is to strong for me.
1/3 C or 32g is a portion.
This is probably way more info then you wanted, LOL but I guess I don't do anything in half measures.
I'm off to the chiropracter
Will come home and get hubby off to his appointment.
Do treadmill and weights/gym
them clean the house.
Will also wait till I come home to start drinking my water. I can see me now hooked up to that gizmo at the chiropracters and having to pee three times. No thanks, I'll just wait till i get home.
Have a wonderful, healthy and fit day.
Darlene :hippy:
fleureange 01-21-03, 02:29 PM Hello again.
WOW, I feel great!
I went to the chiropracter and had my last treatment. He gave me the go ahead to use the treadmill as long asI'm carefull. He told me to wait at least 2 weeks before starting aerobics.
So, I got home and did 30 mins on the treadmill. (1.22 miles)
I made lunch and boy was it good.
Here is todays food so far.
BREAKFAST
1 ff yogurt
1/2 C ganola cereal
LUNCH
1 WW pita- cut in half
2 tsp ff sour cream
3 oz ground chicken
2 tbs tabouli
Hi Darlene!!! Glad your feeling better. I hope you enjoy the treadmill.
mcmarto 01-21-03, 09:24 PM Hey girl!
Sounds like you are doing greeeeeeeeeat! (don'y go getting a craving for Frosted Flakes!)
hahahahaha!...I always thought...gee...if I had a treadmill facing my TV...I would be on it all the time...so not true...but I am doing better now!
Hope you had a good night!
mcmarto
fleureange 01-21-03, 10:18 PM Thanks for stopping in Lee. I am really enjoying the treadmill, finally!
****************************************************
Mcmarto, I hope I don't get a craving for frosted flakes either. I'm not much of a cereal person. I guess there are worse cravings then that to have though.
I know I have granola cereal every morning, but i mix it with the yogurt. That's the only way I can eat it. But boy is it gooood.
So you don't mill in front of the tv? I guess exercise is exercise and we find excuses no matter where it is. :( Well, at least your getting better, that's good. One of my first fears is having the treadmill turn into a clothes hanger for the drying laundry. LOL
I hope your feeling better today. I'll be checking in your journal very soon.
****************************************************
DINNER
1 WW pita
tabouli
tofu nuggets=firm LF tofu cubed and shake'n baked in the oven
lettuce
bean sprouts
2 tsp sour cream
It is now 9pm, well after my 6pm food intake deadline. Havn't eaten since dinner and will not eat again till morning.
I drank all 64+ oz today. Day 2 of mini, inch pinchers challenge done.
I feel strong.
I am strong
I will succeed
Nothings gonna stand in my way
I will do what I need to do to make this work.
I will purge myself of negativity
I will over come my lack of self esteem and replace it with a power that I know does exist deep within me.
I will reach out to others in my time of need.
I will be here for others in there time of need
I will be free of the bondage of food.
I will be slim
I will feel sexy
I will feel attractive
I will dive ship wrecks
I will build my confidence
I will feel the power that these success will bring.
Ok, I just need to remind myself of what I'm doing and why I want to do it. Need to stay focused and positive.
Nighty night everyone.
Darlene :hippy:
Bettyboop 01-21-03, 10:32 PM Hi there! You go girl! :cheer: You're a diver? Dive shipwrecks? That's interesting!:dn
fleureange 01-21-03, 11:26 PM Hi Betty,
One of my goals is to dive ship wrecks. First I need to fit into a wet suit.
There are so many wrecks around here (mouth of Lake Erie).
I don't even know how to dive, but I will learn. One day soon.
Darlene
Bettyboop 01-21-03, 11:31 PM kewl! Well Go for it!:up:
Our 4 year old got sick all over her bed and had to sleep with me so he got the boot.
I plan on milling as soon as the kids get off the school bus.
I stopped by Curves today to see what it's all about. I really like the idea. I just don't think I'm going to join right now. I have all this new equipment that I have been unable to use and now finally I can. I think for now, I'll stick with that.
Aerobics will soon follow.
Tomorrow is groceries. I had to stop today though an pick up a few things like more tabouli and beansprouts. I also bought more ground chicken. I really am enjoying these meals.
Hope to be in chat tonight and I hope to see you there.
fleureange 01-23-03, 04:41 PM Hello again,
What a day this has been. Go go go.
Did 30 mins (1.26 miles) on the treadmill, drank half my water, and did the grocery shopping.
BREAKFAST
1 ff yogurt
1/2 C granola cereal
pear
LUNCH
1 WW pita
lettuce
bean sprouts
2 tsp tzatziki sause
4 oz ground chicken
I need to have more veggies and some fruit would be good too.
I love having food in the house. I feel like I can have anything I want and not have to stand there staring at the fridge wondering what to have. That usually ends up in a very bad situation.
Well, I plan to have the same old pita and a salad for dinner.
Will work out on the weider gym too.
Now I MUST go get some house work done. Hubby is complaining again and this time he has reason.
Also have to bring DD to her tutor tonight. Tomorrow all the kids are in school. I should be able to get lots done. Unfortunaly, Dan will be home, so we'll just have to see how much I really get done.
Have a great day.
Will try to make chat tonight, but I can't promise.
Darlene
:hippy:
mcmarto 01-23-03, 09:17 PM Hope you got everything done!
You are doing it...and well!...Congrats on all the working out!
Keep up the good work!...Don't let the mind games take over!
mcmarto
Darlene,
I love your healthy looking menu plans! Looking at others menus gives me ideas of my own. Isn't that great? We wonder what new to fix and then visit other journals and find something that stikes our fancy.LOL
About your exercising deal girl, you are doing very good, but make sure you obey those doctors orders on taking care..We don't want you feeling bad again!
:wave:
fleureange 01-23-03, 11:49 PM Mcmarto, I got a lot done, but I have sooo much more to do tomorrow. Laundry is the worst.
The exercise is coming along. One step at a time. I just decide that I need to do it TODAY. No excuses.
Scary! It's like you know me so well. The mind games is where I'd trip up. They have, in the past done me in so many times. This time I will reach out for help at the first thoughts and/or feelings that I want to eat the wrong foods.
Hi Linda, thanks for peeking in.
I'm a creature of habit. I eat the same things day in and day out and it doesn't bother me in the least. On the other hand, I get tire of making the same thing. Strange I know. I look for recipes, but the thing I hate about them is I never seem to have the ingredients handy. I go to the store and I forget to buy what I need. So, I stick to what is good and what I like.
Don't worry, I'm being careful with the exercise. There is no way I want to experience that pain again! EVER.
The rest of my food...
DINNER
1 WW pita
bean sprouts
lettuce
4 oz ground turkey
2 tsp ff sour cream
3 C salad= red leaf lettuce, bean sprouts red cabbage
LF Italian dressing
SNACK
apple
pear.
I got all my veggies and fruit in. I finished all my water but I didnt use the weider machine. Will be sure to do that tomorrow.
I talked to the pharmacist about apple cider vinegar tablets and what he thought of them for weight loss. He spoke highly of them and recommended them as long as I drink lots of water. Well, that's not a problem. The challenge has seen to that. I have these tablets already, so I figure I might as well take them. I guess it can't hurt. I don't expect miracles from them. I know eating healthy and exercise is really the only way to do it, but if it helps along the way, why not?
Many years ago i tried hypnosis to loose weight. Well, you know how that turned out or I wouldn't be here at DT. Anyway, I bought the guy's hypnosis tape and I've decided to start listening to it again. That too can't hurt. The tape is a relaxation tape that gets you to visualize the negative foods, then block them with a red "X". Visualize the good foods and apply a green check mark. Then to visualize yourself at your healthy ideal body weight.
You can't imagin how hard that is. That's going to take some practice.
So I think this tape will help me focus on my goal and in the prossess, help keep me away from those "bad" foods.
Has anyone else tryed hypnosis? What did you think?
I guess that's all for tonight.
The plan for tomorrow is to get up with the birds, walk the treadmill, do the weider gym, and do lots of laundry and cleaning.
Have a healthy and fit tomorrow.
Darlene :hippy:
MadMarnDZ 01-24-03, 12:26 AM Hi Darlene!!
Boy, look at you go on that tredmill. Way to go!! Looks like your doing great as usual and I love to read your menu's except they make me HUNGRY! :D
Let me know how the apple cider tablets work. I would definitely give them a try. Where did you pick them up at???
Take care and I'll :hop: back in later!
Ruthieb 01-24-03, 08:08 AM Hello Darlene, I'm up with the birds to be able to get to people journals...and I'm freezing my buns off it is so cold. You are going to be crowned the treadmill queen before long. Well want to stop and say hi have a great wekend. Ruthieb
fleureange 01-24-03, 10:11 AM January 24 2003
Where is the time going? I can't believe it's the 24th already.
Marn, Sorry for making you hungry :o You should try putting something like that together for a lunch. Just grab a pita and throw lots of healthy stuff in it. That's all i do.
I got the apple cider vinegar pills from the pharmacy. They weren't expensive either. I got them a while back, but never followed through with them. I'm looking forward to giving them a fair chance. This stuff is pretty common. You could get it just about anywhere vitamins are sold.
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
LOL Ruthie, I don't know about treadmill queen. There are so many others who are more deserving of that title. For instence, have you heard that Lisrey walks her treadmill backwards! Now there's a queen if I ever saw one. But thanks for the compliment
:D
I know this freezing feeling. It's down right dangerous here as it is in so many other regions. I sure hope this cold front ends soon. I'm ready to open my window to spring again, but Mother Nature has other ideas.
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
Just got the kids off to school. I didn't end up getting up with the birds :(
You ever watch a tv show, then have it interfere with your dreams? Well, I watched the discovery health channel last night. They had on the Boday Challenge 2. For some reason, I was dreaming about it this morning and that was the reason I didn't get out of bed. Don't ask me what one had to do with the other.
So, I'm just finishing my coffee. I already listend to my hypnosis tape to mentally focus me on the do's and don'ts for my day.
After my coffee and posting here, I'm off to start laundry and walk the treadmill.
Already had my breakie too
BREAKFAST
1 ff yogurt
1/2 c granola crunch cereal
Feeling good for a healthy today.
hope you have a healthy today too.
Darlene :hippy:
fleureange 01-24-03, 03:47 PM I did 30 minutes on the treadmill (1.27 miles) burned 164 cals and 51 from fat.
Drank all my water. YES!
Had a good lunch
LUNCH
1 WW pita
1 oz ground chicken (ran out)
1/2 C 6 bean mix (pinto, fava navy etc)
lettuce
bean sprouts
2 tsp ff sour cream
SNACKS
8 rice chips (ranch)
I feel so good having all these healthy alternatives around. My very own chips, my gound chicken rather then ground beef. I have different rice and WW pasta noodles.
I just feel like they can have their thing, and I can have mine, but yet it's the same thing.
I just feel good.
Ever hear something that has a dramatic impact on you?
I was in someones journal, and a second person was qoting a third person.
It went something like this...
grab your gym bag. DON'T THINK ABOUT IT
get in your car. DON'T THINK ABOUT IT
drive to the gym. DON'T THINK ABOUT IT
and before long your workout is over.
I'd like to thank who ever wrote that.
That has stuck with me and is what is getting my butt to the treadmill everyday. Not only that, it's keeping me on for the whole 30 minutes too. Thanks again.
Do you believe in fate?
My parents usually go away on vacation every two years. This year they decided not to go. My mom just didn't feel right about going.
Then my g-pa got sick. She thought that was the reason she wasn't meant to go away.
As I'm sure you've heard, Mexico had a major earthquake a few days ago. It was a 7.8 on the Ricter scale.
Had my parents gone on their vaction to Mexico, they would have been 15 minutes for the Colima, the epicenter. That is frightening.
I guess Everything happens for a reason, even if we don't really understand what that reason is at the time.
Just thought I'd share.
Darlene :hippy:
30 minutes is WONDERFUL!
Your eating is :super:
You are doing great! I am so proud of you! :)
