Day 1-weigh in 297.5

So here we are, 2003. Today I officially started the diet again after the holidays. Getting back on the wagon is always the hardest part. I am a creature of habit as are most people. The trick here is to make my diet the habit instead of the break from it.

Day One and I did well. It was a fight and I don't feel secure yet, but I will take comfort in today and focus on just tommorow.
I did have one Skittle but the fact that I stopped at one is a very good sign. I had to get gas after work and I was very tempted to get a standard gas station treat, but I gritted my teeth and stuck it out. I didn't exercise so it is a must that I do so tommorow. I lose weight soooooo slow when I don't exercise and that makes it hard to keep motivated. So that is my major goal for tommorow.
Exercise!

Breakfast- scrambled egg whites, 1/2 cup cheerios
snack- 2 oz tuna, fruit
lunch- open faced chicken sandwich with mustard, salad
snack- 2 oz chicken, fruit
dinner-open faced chicken sandwich with mustard, salad(I enjoyed it at lunch so much I decided to have it again.)

misc.- 8 saltines, one skittle

You can do it!! Set your mind to it and jump on for the ride..:)
Looks like your eating for the day was great. One Skittle won't kill ya.. Gotta treat ourselves once in awhile and ONE is all you had I would of treated on the whole bag..:(

Good luck
Laura

Day 2

Hi Laura! I love skittles so it was a definite challenge.

Today went well, but my mood is not so great. It just reminds me how much I depend on food for happiness. That fact makes it very hard to change. I didn't sleep well last night so that was a factor also. I am just getting tired of working so hard and never feeling like I get anywhere, not just in my diet but in everything.
Well enough poor me stuff. I didn't exercise but it is ok as long as I do tommorow. I usually exercise don't exercise on Saturdays and Sundays so I got out of it on the skin of my teeth.
Well, I am ready for bed.

breakfast- cup of cheerios, yogurt
snack- fruit
lunch- ham sandwich with light mayo and mustard, salad with 2 oz of chicken, 1/2 cup green beans
dinner-bowl of veggies with 2oz chicken, 1 serving of Wheat Thins
dessert-half a low fat graham cracker with apx 2 tbsps of raspberry sherbert.

Day 3

My mood is much improved from yesterday but I still am not sleeping well. I haven't exercised yet so I am doing it right after this. The diet is going well but I am always waiting for the other shoe to drop. I guess I need to focus more on the one day at a time thing. man I would really enjoy some ice cream. Well tough luck, not today!

breakfast- cheerios, 2 scrambled egg whites, fruit
lunch- chicken sandwich with mustard, spinach,
snack-2 oz chicken, fruit
dinner-1/2 cup potatoes, salad with lite dressing, chicken

exercise- tae-bo

goal for tommorow- wake up a little earlier

why not try frozen yogurt? I would love some .. .they have them here but they served very little and it's expensive. I could get it from the supermarket but I love those soft swirly kind. You can do it! You're doing great with the eating part!

Day 4

Hi China Doll! you are such a great diet buddy. I don't keep frozen food of any type around because if it is here I will eat it but I don't really miss it when it is not here. It is just easier to do without.

Today went well. Tommorow is my day off and I am of course tempted to have my free meal but I know I will end up having on on Saturday too. So am going to grit my teeth and stick it out through tommorow. I did my Taebo last night but I am very tired an don't know if I can find it in me to do it tonight but that of course means I am going to have to do it tommorow morning. either way I'm screwed. They have a diet in a pill why not exercise in a can?

breakfast- raisin bran
lunch- tuna sandwich with light mayo, broccoli, peaches
snack- 1/4 small loaf of bread (apx 3 bites)
dinner-wendys chicken sandwich with mustard, side salad with honey mustard dressing (very little)

exercise- I'm not making any promises

Hey that's great that you dun keep any frozen food ... or rather bad food, rite? I know what u mean abt yr day off, I always eat more - maybe 'cos I'm bored or have time on my hand. When I'm working, I'm conscious of having people know if I'm eating so I tend to control. Once I'm at home and no one is looking, that's when temptation strikes! That was funny - exercise in a pill! LOL! Good job on the menu!

Day 5

Hey ChinaDoll! What would I do without you?

Today went really well. I got to go out to eat but I didn't blow it. My cousin and I went to Souper Salad. I told myself that I wouldn't eat any bread until I had two plates of salad. So I only had 1/2 a piece of cornbread, 1/2 a piece of gingerbread, and 1/2 a breadstick. Not perfect but I am still proud of my selfcontrol. I am most proud that I actually did all my exercise today. I did Tae-bo for 25 minutes and then later took a 30 minute walk with my cousin.

breakfast-bowl of cheerios
lunch-bowl of cheerios, 2 egg whites, yogurt
snack-2 oz chicken, peach
dinner- 2 plates of salad with lite ranch, 1/2 a piece of cornbread 1/2 a piece of gingerbread and 1/2 a breadstick, cup of soup

dessert- spoon of sherbert, 1/2 a graham cracker

exercise-25 minutes of Tae-bo, 30 minutes walk

That's really good that you controlled what you ate when you dined out. I know it's hard. Even here in the office, I was really tempted to eat the snacks but I psycho myself and keep telling myself "BE STRONG" over and over again. Somehow time passed and it's meal time again. Got to keep busy otherwise I'll be looking for something to munch on.

I like to eat lite during the day so that I can eat more at nite. That's my strategy. I tend to snack more at home 'cos I'm not busy with work .... thus always looking for something to munch on. Plus, I noticed that if I dun eat meat, I will definitely snack. So, I eat more MEAT (preferably fish or seafood 'cos they are lower in calories) and less carbs.

But you are doing a great job anyway, so keep up the good work!

Hello Sarah,

Hang in there my friend. you are making definite progress towards success. the weight loss journey is long so i wouldnt totally avoid certain foods just eat less of it, moderation is the key and portion control.

I too love ice cream so i dont deny myself it. i buy fat free fudgsicles, lite or sugar free ice cream bars, lowfat healthy choice ice cream or frozen yogurt. just use limitation with it.

you did very well at the dinner. i have one free meal a week too usually on the weekend.

i also dont use the word"diet" cuz a diet is something you go on and off and are restricted with foods. i use the words 'lifestyle change" as i am trying to change what and how much i eat but not denying myself foods i really love to eat cuz then i will feel deprived after ahwile and give up.

you will do this. just keep positive and keep the faith and you will be fine.

as far as exercise, with my hectic schedule i find it easiest in the morning. then its out of the way for the day and one less thing to have to do plus it gives me energy and motivation and speeds my metabolism. i see if i dont exercise i lose slower too.
just make a routine out of it.

well take care and have a wonderful day.

Day 6

Hey Chinadoll and Minniemouse!

Today went well. I ate well and exercised but I am getting anxious for my free meal. I am hoping that through the next few weeks that lessens a bit. i feel like I am holding on to it too tightly. It is just the first week so I am trying to take it one day at a time.

breakfast-cheerios, 2 egg whites, fruit
lunch- broccoli, 2 oz chicken, 2 servings wheat thins
dinner-2 oz tuna, salad, cheerios (I know its odd but it was the only carbo I was in the mood for)

exercise-25 minutes taebo

How do you cook your egg whites? Do you just separate the yolk? And how do you prepare your broccoli? Just curious! Good job on the taebo & eating so well!

Hi Betty and China

Chinadoll, I add about a tsp of water and whisk them with a fork like you would whole eggs and then I scramble them. When you add the water and whisk them they taste almost the same as scrambled eggs just white and they have the exact same consistency. They aren't gross like you would think. I buy the frozen broccoli and just nuke it for 2 minutes with a little water. I love fresh steamed broccoli but it is too much of a hassle to do all the time.

Today was my free day. I really enjoyed it but am not dreading tommorow like I would think as long as I stay on track tommorow than the rest of the week comes along pretty well. Was gonna Tae-bo but I had a friend over today. I am so tired I can hardly think but I am determined to come almost everyday.

But it is time for sleep now
Goodnight

breakfast-2 egg whites, oatmeal
snack-2 oz chicken, peach
lunch-salad, 2 oz tuna, 1/2 cup rice
snack-2 oz chicken, peach

Hiya, that's great that you resisted temptation and stuck to eating healthy! Good Job! I'm so proud of you!

Pooh! I don't really feel like writing in here but doing something is better than ignoring the problem.

I have gone another week off track. School and work are keeping me very busy but honestly I am not taking the time (which I do have) to keep prepared. so I either go without eating or eat bad foods when I have nothing else to eat. tommorow is Monday and I have to do something. I can't live like this.
One day at a time.

goal for tommorow

tae-bo and pre prepare food
