How old is too old to lose weight? What do you think? Is there a time when we can stop trying to lose?

Hi Jo: I would say there is no age limit for taking charge of your life, even it is a weight issue. I think being healthy at any age is so important and diet does play a very active part in that. For me I am 58 now and plan to keep on losing however so slowly until I am comfortable with that weight and feel healthy and exercise. Gee I just realized you are 76 what a great age and congrats on losing all that weight and if you feel good at that weight stay fit and enjoy. Ah.... exercise maybe that is more important than dieting for seniors I wonder ????? Gee I start with an answer and end up with a question... ha ha have a great day

Hi, Lulu -

I lost my weight at age 74, two years later I am still maintaining the weight loss.

I agree that the exercise is very important, but again I think that age makes a difference on that. I have perepheral neuropathy in my feet and osteoarthritis in my knees, so some of the exercise I am not going to do.

I do walk briskly for a half an hour at least 4 times a week. Do some stretching and toning other days. IMHO, staying as active as possible is what we should be doing.

And stay happy, that is most important !

Sounds like you have a great plan and will live to a ripe old age. Enjoy and be happy for sure.

Personally, at 56, I am thinking that exercise is absolutley a must in order to lose, unless you eat like a tiny little bird every day! 8-| NO FEAR OF THAT HAPPENING WITH ME!!:(

The entire year of 2002, I have struggled trying to lose weight and have not succeeded. However, I have not done any regular exercising at all. :( Sadly to say!

In my earlier years, I could lose very easily, without exercising. Now that is not the case! I do think every one is different, but it sure "seems" like I am going to be one who needs to exercise, because obviously, I am putting in more calories, than I am exerting!!!!!!!!:( Much differnent now, that I am 56 yrs. old.

Of course, that is just My Humble Opinon. 8-|
