mickeyvoll 07-03-03, 08:13 AM Hey Minnie!
You are doing SO well! I can't wait for the weigh-in tomorrow. I hope it's a good one.
I hope you do get to see both of those places today.
Minnie mouse 07-03-03, 08:47 AM Thanks Mickey,
i hope one of these places works out and the one up in my area would be perfect. something has to turn up soon as im getting super down about it. so much harder than i thought.
well gotta run
sandielynne 07-03-03, 04:51 PM Ah Minnie,
Keep your chin up. When the right place comes along, you'll know it. Until then, just hang in there.
Good luck on your next weigh-in friend. I'm here rooting for you!
chumlette 07-03-03, 06:40 PM Ooo! Good luck tomorrow with the weigh in!!! I can't wait to see how it goes!!!!!
Minnie mouse 07-03-03, 11:03 PM Hello,
well went and looked at another place tonight. me and hubby both loved it. it was so roomy and good neighborhood BUT then found he wont take section 8 cuz of a bad experience before with tenant on it that destroyed the place. we were deeply depressed this time cuz we liked it alot. i did all i could to keep my composure and not cry right there but as soon as we drove off i did. :c(
so then me and hubby hit the bar. he drank a little beer and i had 2 diet sodas. came home and i never did eat my snack so am under points. but i feel so down i dont want to eat.(usually when im down all i do is eat so this is a change)
will try to sleep in tommorow. gotta get up and make flag cake for cookout and pack our swim gear, hubby will be wearing sunblock as he got burned today pretty badly.
gotta shower and exercise too in the morning.
going to call kids to check in on them and wish them a happy 4th.
after cookout me and hubby are going to watch the fireworks. maybe that will cheer me up. after work got the ingredients for cake and for baked beans for sat party at his sis's.
well i will post weigh in tommorow. wonder what it says.
i know i lost but not as much as last week. but to me a loss is a loss and will be glad whatever it is. i did good this week so thats what counts to me.
cant beleive im not stress eating since its so unlike me and im under much stress these days.
well going now to finish watching movie on Lifetime network. hubbys in bed but i cannot sleep right now.
take care.
mdonna612 07-04-03, 12:35 AM Minnie
Sure hope one of these houses will fill the bill.
I am so proud of your focus with all the stress in your life.
Know you will become a true minnie, as in mini.
Donna
mickeyvoll 07-04-03, 04:18 AM Firstly, Happy Independence Day!
Good for you for not stress eating - you are having a hard time at the moment with finding somewhere to live, and that's supposed to be one of the most stressful experiences you can go through. If you can survive this without over-eating, then you can survive anything!
I'm sorry things didn't work out for you yesterday. It must be hard to really like somewhere and then find out they don't take section 8, particularly because of a bad previous experience. Something will work out for you though.
Take care Minnie, and have a fantastic (restful without kids!) weekend.
Minnie mouse 07-04-03, 09:46 AM Good Morning,
well i never did sleep in as hubby woke me up but i did weigh in and lost 1 pound for the week. i know a loss is a loss but it was dissapointing with all the effort i put forth and resisting i did this whole week but its better than a gain i suppose. hubby lost 3 pounds and i just get so frustrated cuz there he is eating double whopper one night and stuff. oh well its that dam male metabolism. :(
got my flag cake made and i must say it looks yummy.
i had a sliver of pound cake this morning and some blueberries and strawberries. will try to do good today. will swim to and i did ride 7 miles on my bike.
my weekly exercise totals are:
rode bike: 15 miles this week
walk tapes: 7 miles
weights: 1 day
AB crunches: 300
got bed made and one small load of clothes washed. still need to wash dishes, take shower, hang out clothes and call kids. so i have to go.
have a wonderful 4th of july everyone and take care :tongue:atriot: :sam: :tongue:arty:
chumlette 07-04-03, 10:01 AM Wow. Minnie, those exercise stats are IMPRESSIVE. No wonder you have been consistently losing.
And I am so proud of you on being down a pound!!!!:jn Don't knock it. You are doing a fantastic job, girly!!!
I hope you have fun today. It is so good to get the exercise in early, especially on a day where there will be yummy foods. Perhaps if you are eating outside, it will be easier to keep it under control (I hate eating in the heat).
Happy 4th!
mdonna612 07-04-03, 02:50 PM Minnie
Enjoy the 4th and watch out for fun in the sun and those rays.
A pound is a pound.
Better down than up.
Donna
Minnie mouse 07-05-03, 09:56 AM Hello,
well party was great yesterday but so hot and humid so i swam alot of it. but i did eat alot too and was mad with myself for having so little control but on a good note i did skip the desserts which included pies and my flag cake. i had 2 fruit cups instead so thats a plus. drank mostly diet soda but then had a 7up.
well today is cookout #2. going to try to behave better. tommorow i will be totally back on plan.
gotta make baked beans soon too. slept in and took a shower cuz the chlorine yesterday made my hair brittle.
so used deep conditoner and its bak to its original state of softness which is how i like it.
last night after party me and hubby headed to the fireworks. so many people there and they had a small carnival with music and all kinds of food and ice cream stands but i did refrain though the blue Ribbon ice cream stand was calling my name i walked by it,.
we saw the fireworks from standing on the bridge. we were all lined up in rows. tons of people too,. they were selling bottled water but me and hubby bought our water at the gas station before we walked over to it so it would be cheaper,
the fireworks wore beautiful and lasted 45 minutes. but we shouldve took our travel chairs cuz standing for 2 hrs in one spot waiting my feet with these dam spurs were killing and i had to limp to the car afterwards.
so this morning limping still,. so going to get my splint for foot i got to sleep in at night for 2 weeks. hope it will help cuz this stinks.
i will ride my bike again for exercise this morning cuz the walk tapes i cant do today with my feet and i miss them so hopefully tommorow i can do a tape. even if its just the 1 mile but today i dont want to put added strain on the foot.
hubby is gone right now getting a new tire on van. i noticed yesterday the cord was through it. must need to be aligned cuz the other tires are fine.
and he was dropping off the cable bill to, to save me a trip on monday,.
its been great being alone w/ him but weekend is flying by and kids will be home tommorow.
yesterday at cookout my cousin had an aleergic reaction to a dish my aunt made which was tortellini in pesto sauce(very good) but i guess there was some kind of nut or something in it cuz my cousins allergic to nuts well her both eyelids were swollen and under her arms and she got hives real bad so she had to have a shot given to her and shes fine now.
we were all worried for a bit as it was a severe reaction.
well i gotta go do some things before my husband returns.
i made bed, fed fish, showered, hung up all our beach towels and bathing suits, swept floor.
have a super saturday and take care!
StaceyJG1 07-05-03, 12:46 PM I'm so jealous! I haven't been swimming in years. We are going to a waterpark next month...first time in a bathing suit for me!
Sounds like you're having a great time and enjoying your peaceful time. Good for you!
Have a great day!!
Hi Minnie - I am so sorry to hear you are still having trouble finding a house.
Have you considered placing an ad in the newspaper yourself?
When I was looking for a house many years ago - I faced so many "bad" places, that finally I placed an ad and within a week or so found the house that I ended up buying.
Say something like this in your ad.
working ( underline/bold working ) couple with children looking for a 4 bedroom house for long term rental. References available etc. Landlord must accept section 8 ( or say HUD instead ). Not sure if this will work for you or not.
My other thought is maybe call reality co. and see if any of them have a homes for rent under section 8 - around here a lot of homes are handled by reality companies rather then the actual home owner.
I am also sorry to hear about your feet - ouch!
Hope they get better soon :)
Jade
you are a busy girl
you will find a good place...just dont lose faith
frustrating tho'
pesto is made with pine nuts... i hope your cousin is ok
a friend of mine was so happy when she made a dish with red pesto (she has nut allergies too)...i didnt have the chance to tell her red pesto is made with sweet nuts before she ate it(cashew usually)... she suffered too
so many food have nuts or oils
anywho
work has been 'nuts' for me too lol
no swollen eyelids but my feet actually hurt
long days
I hope to connect with you soon
luv ya girl
Peng
Minnie:
Spurs are not fun to deal with. Hopefully the splint will help you as walking is defentely painfull with spurs. Sounds like you and hubby are having a great weekend by yourselves. Passing up the sweets for a fruit cup takes will power girl and you have it now:)
Hope you have a fantastic Sunday.

bird songs 07-06-03, 06:13 AM Hiya Minnie! I am so sorry to hear that you are having a hard time with house hunting. Finding a place and getting all excited only to find its a bad neighborhood can take its toll on anyones nerves.. I really hope things open up for you!
If you were swimming I wouldnt worry about what you ate, that burns lots of calories, doesnt it?
That was nice that you and hubby were alone for awhile, that alone is a good stress reliever.. Feels like a mini vacation doesnt it?
Hope your heel spurs go away.. those are worse that stone bruises!!
You did really good passing up all that sugary stuff that only makes you feel sluggish later! I am proud of you!
Minnie mouse 07-06-03, 02:23 PM Hello,
well picking the kids up later. they wanted to stay longer today too swim. ex kept trying to get me to drive up there again instead of meeting me but i refused. he called 2 times asking,.
offering me 5.00 to drive 72 miles round trip, no thanks!!!!
well got up around 9 and did the 1 mile walk tape and 30 AB crunches. needed to eat this morning so i had 1 cup baked beans so i could take my celebrex pill.
lunch was tortellini w/ pesto and another cup of baked beans( i am all beaned out for now)
dinner is sloppy Joes and broccoli and snack is either 94% ff popcorn or a sugar free pop
feeling tired today. hubby did put air conditoner in living room as its so hot.
so this room is cool(LR) but fans running in rest of house blowing what feel like hot air. i slept bad last night cuz i was so hot.
feeling it today.
washed dishes and swept floorm, put 1 load of clothes away. didnt do too much. hubby is napping on couch now cuz he mowed grass for 2 hrs in heat but its done.
well got groceries awhile ago and store was packed.
got alot of good foods too including ff pudding for myself and fruit.
more blueberries, strawberries too.
scale went up a little today so working to get that off.
hubbys went up alot and then for lunch he was eating pie and so on. he was being negative toward my diet saying i eat like a bird so i told him its not his business cuz its my body and if i eat like he does i wont lose at all. i told him if he cannot say supportive things then not to say anything so he agreed and said he is supportive. :(
well going for now to read journals.
have a great sunday.
Minnie mouse 07-06-03, 03:12 PM I almost forgot to say that yesterday me and hubby wnet to a medical supplies store for that splint i need to sleep in and the lady is calling me back tommorow cuz it has to be approved by my insurance but she feels it will be and it better be cuz its 90.00
i couldnt beleive it. its like a orthopedic boot thing. looks heavy too and i am not thrilled to have to wear it to bed for weeks but i have to cuz my foot is in real pain.
we did laugh over it though,. wait till the kids see it cuz it looks worse than what my problem is.
whatever will help i will do.
well i gotta go. talk later. but i will be very busy this week.
got to get foot xray done this week,. on wed son has another dentist appt, got to go get splint from supply store, making appt to have ears flushed out(there blocked)
plus everything else so will post here as much as i can.
Minnie mouse 07-07-03, 07:48 AM Hello,
well got 2 of my kids back last night. my older girl asked to stay for the week at her dads so i said ok. figured shes bored. boy was i wrong. after we picked up my 11 yr old and my son we went for a soft ice cream as we were starving. then to sister-n-laws to get our DVD they borrowed weeks ago,.
then home and we had tuna sandwiches(sloppy joes are now on tonights menu for dinner)
anyways i could tell something was bugging my 11 yr old girl so she told me over the weekend her sister and step brother were being very chummy. she said preivous weekends she saw them just hugging but this weekend with everyone camping in the tents he snuck into theres. his 14 yr old cousin was also there. well he(the step brother he is 14 and my girl is 13 1/2) were cuddling and under the blanket together and my daughter said almost lying on top of one another. so i called her dad and talked to him and his wife. so they were going to have a big talk with them and they are as furious and upset as i am since this is her step brother.
I have had major talks with my girl this year regarding boys as i had problems with that one boy during the school yr. i thought the boy craziness was just an age but she seems to like tons of boys and acts permissive and flirtatious.
i am so upset and feel so betrayed by her that she tells me one thing and does another. apparently the 2 were also making plans for the next weekend she goes up for her to stay for another week which she isnt doing.
her father was so enraged he said and i agreed that as of now her social life is none. she cannot talk to boys on the phone or go anywhere unsupevised and down the road if she regains our trust we will slowly allow her more social privledges. this seems harsh but she broke what we consider crucial and that is the trust barrier. i dont expect her to not like boys but this past yr she has gone wild and i do not want to be dealing with a young teen pregnancy out of foolishness and lack of self control,
she likes every guy she sees and describes them as hot which bothers me but all the kids use that term. she was thrilled this yr that her boobs grew big and likes to act sexy. i had millions of talks regarding all this and defended her when her dad said she couldnt go somewhere and he said to me i guess shes been deceiving you and more or less he said since shes with me most of the time i better watch her and tighten the reigns.
my own hubby is upset cuz he is close to my daughter and considers her his own,.
we are dissapointed well i broke last night and i ate from stress. i had a brownie and a cupcake. eating was bad yesterday for me but today fighting the food demons. i got up and rode 5 miles on bike and did 40AB crunches. got 3 loads of clothes washed but need to hang them and i did other chores but got more to do plus take a shower. i am picking my daughter up today cuz my exes wife and he have work the rest of the week which means my girl and the boy would be alone all day so shes coming home. i told ex on phone last night i was coming for her today.
i will have a 72 mile round trip drive plus i have to go pay car insurance, get gas and maybe get my foot splint and i have work tonight and i am going on like 4 hours sleep since i was up last night dwelling on this.
i know the teen yrs arent suppose to be easy but my girl is 13 1/2 and its not like she had a first kiss cuz i am understanding to holding hands and a kiss but this is out of control and needs to be controled before it gets way out of hand and considering its her step brother even though he is not blood related hes still family to her. and i dont understand what the heck shes thinking but apparently shes not thinking clearly.
i have been very open with her and i guess now i must be harder and be more of a mom and less of a friend. i found out she was telling my 11 yr old about sex and oral sex. she was teaching my 11 yr old sex ed. i dont think my girl has gotten as far as sex yet and i pray not but i know she has kissed and im sure done a base or 2 from that other boy from the school yr that i had to nip in the bud. im sure we all remember the time i had with that.
well enough venting as i am so down. between looking for a house and everything else i feel so run down but diet wise will keep strong. at least one area of my life i can try to control.
have a good day!!!

Lizzie B 07-07-03, 07:59 AM Hi Sandy,
Oh how I had forgotten how tough it is to raise teenagers. I had 3 sons who taught me soooooooo much. My mother raised 6 of us girls!! She was strict and very much tuned in with what was going on with us all the time. I never fooled her once. Sounds like you have the situation under control and on to all the little goofy stuff we do as teenagers. Your daughter may not be thrilled with your new rules but she will be so pleased that you are helping her make some tough decisions!! No matter what children say they do like rules and restrictions. Give them a sense of self worth and importance when parents make rules and stick with them. I personally think you are right on with your plan.
I also know how tough it is to have to make these decisions but you are so right in doing so!! Good for you Sandy!!!!!
Still working and staying beyond busy I see. Good for you but remember to take Sandy Time!!
Well I am off to see the wizard!!
Love and hugs,
Lizzie
Oh Sandy,
What a situation you have on your hands. I am so glad that your other daughter told you about it.
You are doing a great thing at bring down the rules and protecting her. Good for you. It won't be easy though but I just encourage you to hang in there. She will one day be sooooo glad you did.
BTW, you are doing just great with your exercise and food. Don't worry. Hang in there.
maximum 07-07-03, 10:35 AM Just IMHO....
You have to lay it out there, ALL OF IT!... I told my daughter everything! Well at least I thought I had till she said well What is 69? I almost barfed.... But I have now told her EVERYTHING.... So some of the mystery is gone for her. But in telling her EVERYTHING I also emphasized on STDs and PREGNANCY. STDs being the worst, from Herpes and Crabs to AIDS to dying. SELF LOVE, and how the first time is there only time. THere first kiss, I told my daughter make sure its with someone you always want to remember in a good way, because you can never get it back. Virginity, You can never get back.
Boy o Boy...... Someone needs to grab that BOY by the crotch and set him straight, He better be fishing in some other pond.
Just talk to her. Lots of talking.... LOTS OF TALKING.... ;)
mdonna612 07-07-03, 12:18 PM Minnie
Glad you had a great 4th but the daughter thing has to be stressful. My son thinks flirty girls, openly flirty that are suggestive are tramps. He is 16 and a good looking kid and she will lose respect with guys that she actually may want if she comes off as too provocative.
Gotta scoot, taking Phil to Danna's.
Donna
Minnie mouse 07-07-03, 02:11 PM Hello,
well picked up my daughter and we talked. first of all let me stress that i have had millions of talks with her. she is sorry for now but now the new rules take effect.
I know that we are so biased when it comes to boys and girls(some of us anyways are) but to me they equally were to blame. a girl may appear Trampy being flirty but the boy is just as guilty and responsible. I am trying to teach my son this too.
Boys that are flirty may not be labeled a tramp but to me are just as bad as it takes 2 to tango and my daughter is learning lessons in life and is not a tramp even if she is flirty.
thaks for all the responses:
Lizzie: i praise your mom for having raised 6 girls,. i will barely make it through the 2 girls i have.
Max: i have talked and talked,. all i can do now is watch her and pray.
Donna: yes boys do form opinions but it is these same boys who put the moves on the girls too. one is just as guilty as another,. i dont believe old fashioned quotes like boys will be boys. its not an excuse. i have a son too and would treat him equally. some boys really pressure the girls and the girl feels torn. so sometimes its more of the boys fault in my opinion cuz girls feel like there in love whereas the boy only wants sex.
well food isnt too great. i am so stressed. had chef boyardee for lunch(mega fat) and a brownie :c(
i am just so upset i am comforting with food and need to stop it!
well got alot to do,. have a good day!
Minnie:
You are right to nip this thing with your daughter in the bud now. Alot of Laural's friends thought I was too strict with her on things. Example: She wasn't allowed to wear make-up till 16 unless it was for a special occasion. No dating till she was 16. No parties unless parents were home. Etc. Etc.
Well she is 16 now and guess what. She still doesn't wear make-up as she is pretty without it. And she laughs at how much time it takes her friends to put on their face. Plus the fact most of the guys think she is the prettiest one. She dates but is very fussy as to who she goes out with. They have to respect her the way she respects herself. And as for parties she goes with me not having to worry about what's going on now. She is very open and honest and has come home from one because drinking was going on and she didn't want to be there if the police were called...lol
And now her friends all say they wish their parents had been as strict as I had or at least cared where they were and what they were up to. Hmmmmmmmm something to think about.
Hope you have a better day tommorrow Minnie. Kids are stressfull that's for sure.
Judy2:ex:
Minnie mouse 07-08-03, 08:30 AM Hello,
thanks Judy! Yes kids are stressful and teenagers are even more so. each day i try to teach my children values.
well today is new day and i need to really focus today on my weightloss and stop stressing.
eating hasnt been too good but today going to strat fresh and move forward. i havent execised yet cuz i am waiting for my girl to get up as she wants to do it with me so we will be doing one of the walking tapes.
bad news on the nights splint is its not covered on insurance and is over 100 dollars so im not getting it. probably end up having the cortisone shot.
work was slow last night.
i slept better last night that my daughter is home but am still so tired today.
got large load in washer now and more to do.
fed fish and thats about it as im not up long.
last night before work stopped at store and got my son big thing of water balloons to play with later and got the girls these cute bookmarkers(they read alot) and there is a pin to wear on it.
anyways got my older girl one that says:
Daughter
You are the greatest blessing that God could ever send,
A sweet and lovely daughter Who's grown to be my friend.
It has a rose pin on it.
and i got my other girl one too with a different poem on it. they liked them.
dont know what menu is yet as i have to write it down so i will post later menu and exercise for today,. i must increase water too.
talk later.
have a good day!
mdonna612 07-08-03, 09:19 AM Minnie
Self respect and self love is what I've taught my son. He is actually quit shy and still at the silly stage when it comes to trying to talk to girls. He wants to make them laugh and go places like the movies or do things like swimming.
He has few social skills. But having been raised by a single mom, he respects woman, and expects to give them respect but he looks at those that are funny, not suggestively flirty.
Am stressed out this morning. Took my son to my sister's and she and her husband had a fight and she turned her anger on her oldest daughter, Phil's favorite person. I have no idea what the issue but when I called to tell Phil I got home, the fight was still going on. We rarely have shouting type arguments. Phil was on edge and just wanted off the phone but it must be bad quarrel---I could feel his tension being there.
He is suppose to be there till Thur but he can come home sooner if he wants. He hasn't been there to visit since March and hate that he witness their fights.
My sister has lost over 70 lb and looked so good, but not sure she can maintain this eating pattern.
Her nutritionist wants her calories to 1500 and protein from milk products.
But this is since Christmas, the weight loss.
How's the house hunting?
Donna
maximum 07-08-03, 10:02 AM Hey Min~ners~
Isn't it funny how we can become robbed of our desire! Like our winning streak can be altered by lifes consistant changes! We have the ability to lose weight. We know how to lose weight. But learning to control ourselves in our surroundings is always a huge task. :hm: Interesting. And the even funnier thing is I don't know If I just wrote that for you or me.
Anyhows..... Maybe you and I could put invisble blinders on. I'm here with you my dear. I too must get back to being a loser.
chumlette 07-08-03, 10:47 AM Well, as you know, I'm not a mother. BUT. It seems to me that you are doing the exact right thing. Gosh, it's gotta be hard seeing your little girl (to me 13 is still little) grow up too fast. In this society, it is so hard to control what happens outside of your home. And I agree with you that BOTH boys and girls need to be taught values regarding sex. Jeez, you'd think by this new generation, all the old sexist diatribes would be over. I guess some things never change.
But very importantly, I am so PROUD of you for keeping your act together, food and exercise-wise. Yeah, you had a cupcake, big deal. As someone recently pointed out to me, in the old days, our binges used to be much worse. I think it was harder to be strong b/c not only are you emotionally sapped from all this, but you are hot, exhausted, worried about the new house, and in pain with your heel spurs. I think I would have had a whole BOX of cupcakes for all that (well, you know me, I'd eat the frosting off the tops of a whole box of cupcakes -- haha).
Keep your chin up Minnie, you are doing a great job. Here's a hug for good measure..
Minnie mouse 07-08-03, 02:32 PM Hello and thanks everyone.
well went and had x-rays done of my foot to take to podiatrist on wed. (next wed) it is so weird to see the x-rays and bones in my feet. the kids were amazed and my son wanted to keep looking at them and he was so worried and concerned about my feet.

washed and hung out 2 large loads of clothes, washed dishes, prepared coffee maker, vaccumed entire house, swept kitchen floor and made beds. put away some laundry too.

So much stress and still standing.
I am missing my son tonight and feeling lonely which isn't typical for me. I usually have so much on my to do list I don't find myself lonely, rather freed when Phillip isn't home. Freed to get busy and work on projects without feeling guilty over not wanting to be doing things with him.
But tonight I am really missing him.
So humid here I am miserable and I have air. I really hope your new house has air and washer and dryer. I take Celebrex 200mg twice a day and the cortisone shot isn't bad. It hurts but not nearly as badly as my bone spurs did on my left foot. And you feel relief pretty quickly.
Watching your successes.
Donna
Minnie mouse 07-08-03, 10:54 PM Hello,
Yes feet are killing me tonight. came home and a guy was on phone about a house i called. hubby is going with kids to see it tommorow night while im at work and if its nice then going to see if i can see it friday or sat.
i asked and he will accept section 8 and funny thing is its on same exact st as house we looked at last week and loved but that guy wouldnt take the program. this place costs more so gotta figure all expenses out but it is one st away from my aunt with the pool and this guy lives 2 houses from my aunt and knows her. he is a cop. another st over is my sis so this would be great and its a good school district and neighborhood too though i preferred this district.
so will let you all know how it goes. i am not getting hopes up this time for fear it will jinx me.
food is better today but did have ice cream at work but stopped eating by 7.
my dinner was good. the rice pilaf with chicken in it was so yummy!

How's the moving coming along? Have you found a place yet? I wish you and your family the best of luck in your quest to find your dream home.
Have you tried the 3 mile tape? I was going to try to go for 1.5 miles today using the 3 mile tape but I barely maid it to the first mile. I didnt' push myself to keep going. I haven't decied if I'm going to workout tomorrow or not. I have to study for a test but I have my notes all typed up so I'm going to start studying tonight and that should help.
That's great that your food was good today. Don't worry to much having some ice cream. I think that's ok as long as you don't go over board with it.
I got some popsciles at the store tonight.I wanted to get some snickers ice cream bars, I know exactly what your thinking LOL, but don't worry I decided to save the extra money, fat grams and calories and go for the popsicles instead.
Yummy chicken and rice pilaf does sound really good. Do you have a George Forman grill? My sister has one. She's grilled me chicken in it before. She's real stubborn and won't allow anyone else to use it. But that's ok with me because that means that she has to clean it even when she cooks some chicken for me. I was thinking about getting one for myself so I can grill my own food.
Have a great evening! Katherine
chumlette 07-09-03, 08:42 AM Ooo! The new house possibility sounds great! I hope it goes ok; you need a break from worrying about it!!! But I will think positive thoughts for you all day long!
My friend with the heel spurs also iced her heels twice a day for 15 minutes and did those calf stretches. Perhaps that will help you a little bit???
Poor Minn. I think you need another one of these:
mdonna612 07-09-03, 09:25 AM Minnie
Hate this humidity and am headed for a bath in a few minutes. Then a load of clothes.
Is the Celebrex helping.
I hope that this house is the one, sounds ideal.
Gotta scoot,
Donna
Hi Minnie, I thought I'd pay a return visit seeing as you were so nice as to stop and see me yesterday.
I hope you get the house you want. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.
You had said you do the 1 and 2-mile tapes of the WATP tapes.
I sent for a pkg. deal of them and got 6 of them, and I almost always do just the one tape, ... the 3-mile tape. I got a 10=minute warm-up tape, 2 different 2-mile tapes, 2 different 1-mile tapes, the 3-mile fat burner tape and 2 exercise balls.
It's hard for me to walk on cement because it really aggravates my hip, but I can do these tapes without it bothering my hip so much, and I think it's because of the thick cushioning of the carpet and its padding. Same thing at Curves. The platforms that you jog in place on have a base that's kind of like foam rubber and so is the part you run on.
Your foods sounded so good. Chicken and rice pilaf. Yummers!
Have a great day!
Minnie mouse 07-09-03, 12:54 PM Hello,

Take it easy today!
mdonna612 07-09-03, 02:25 PM Minnie
Hit and miss rain here, too.
Finished the glider cover pillows from last summer. The new head pillows show how faded the material is but still very beautiful---it's a tapestry that had like a rubber backing so pretty water proof and the glider is under the porch awning. Very pretty, could have been a sofa material and probably was. I use to sew alot and felt good to get this done---with Phil gone, I also cut out some cordoroy for pillow covers. Did not like how the first one came out so am going to look at the size again. Stuffed 2 pillows in the first slip cover. It doesn't look good but Phil uses the pillow to sit on the floor and play his playstation. So it may work. But the next 2 won't be so big. I thought the first pattern looked small and so cut it bigger and got too big.
Will work on the other 2 in a little while. Want to get out and go shopping for my mellons. Tomorrow is trash day and like the rhines to go out with the trash pick up and not draw bugs.
Well, better scoot,
Still missing my little bundle.
Donna
daisywon8 07-09-03, 08:24 PM Hi Minnie, Thanks for leaving a message on my journal welcoming me. It makes me feel--well welcomed!:) I am really going to lose this weight This time, and it just helps to know that nice people like you are encouraging me. daisywon8
Minnie:
I hope all goes well with the house your hubby is looking at. Sounds so perfect being that close to your Aunt and Sister. Have a wonderfull day.
Judy2:ex:
chumlette 07-10-03, 05:37 AM Congratulations on sticking to your menu and working out!
Have you noticed a big difference due to the crunches? Everyone around here seems to do them but I have FEAR OF FAT ROLLS whilst doing them. hahaha
Btw, your mom sounds fantastic.
mdonna612 07-10-03, 09:37 AM Minnie
Well, how was the house.
Had a busy day yesterday and didn't get done what I needed.
Only got the dog out this morning. Took watermellon to the elderly couple that adopted those boys down the street. She was very upset over the oldest boy and talked to 1 a.m. and so got to bed very late. It stormed here afterward. But had been up since before 7 a.m. so took some sleeping pills and drifted away.
Got to call and arrange to pick up Phil.
Seems like these days past too fast.
Donna
Yeah, how was the house hunting last night?
It won't be long now, you'll find the right one.
Hang in there.
Hi Minnie, thanks for stopping by my journal, too.
I've read a several pages of yours. Sounds like you are really going through it with this house hunting. I hope this latest one is as good as it sounds and that it is yours!
bird songs 07-10-03, 11:22 AM Hi Minnie, thought I would come to find out if you got your house!
You are doing well with inner strength!
I am laying off waffles for awhile, are you? lol
Chumlette, I am fearful too, I mean I am afraid if I raise to high, I will get sucked in between the belly rolls and wind up inside out lol
I mean there has to be a vacuum effect to all that girth lol
Minnie mouse 07-10-03, 11:06 PM Hello,
well the house was wonderful. everything i could want. it has front and back porch, wall to wall carpeting, a nice kitchen and bathroom,lR and DR, basement, fenced in yard with shed. bus stop is on corner 2 houses down and nice big walk in closets. the guy filled out paper for section 8 and we dropped it off this morning to HUD but the guy i spoke to said he has to run it through puter to make sure expenses arent over the limit, if so we cant get it so i am waiting to hear from him with fingers crossed but also trying not to get hopes up so i also called a string of places today. 2 of them wont take section 8 and 1 said the house was in fair condtion without a yard so that was out and one was for sale and not rent.
today i did 2 mile walk tape. 2 miles on bike and 50AB crunches. will log weekly exercise totals tommorow after i exercise and i have to weigh. i am hoping to at least have maintained since i had gained a few this week with all the 4th of july picnics i indulged in. so i have to wait and see.
today i did so good with foods. i ate alot but all was low point foods. drank alot of hot green tea and has cup of soup for lunch, 1 turkey burger for dinner. and i had 94% ff popcorn this afternoon,. me and the kids watched King Kong as they never seen it before.
cleaned house and did laundry. work was slow tonight too.
drank a ton of water plus alot of liquid from tea and soups. ran endlessly to the bathroom to say the least.
we have all the kids this weekend so hubby will be picking up his daughter after work.
today was cold out here. dreary all day but it feels good. but not like summer should feel.
my mom is gone to baltimore with her job for a meeting till tommorow. shes a telemarketer of certain books.
been enjoying reading the library books on diet and nutrition,. am learning alot from them. clothes feel looser too.
had to take apart computer mouse as it was sticking and lint was built up and not letting the ball roll.
had heck of a tiem putting it back together as it wouldnt snap back in but my daughter fixed that.
going to try to sleep in a bit tommorow as all week i had to get up so early.
well going for now, take care.
I hope you get the place you want
is the foot easing up ? you just never stop lol
I hope your weekend with the fam is a good one
check on ya tomorrow buddy
Peng
mdonna612 07-11-03, 09:16 AM Minnie
Didn't mention your foot, does that mean it's better?
Phil is home and sleeping in. Got his dirty clothes in the washer and coffee made, gonna clean bathroom a lick and a promise and maybe color my hair.
We go out with Steve for lunch. My turn to pay and then Phil is going to see T3. Want him to mow the grass before going.
With the cooler weather and less humidity I want him to work on my backyard, seedlings have popped up everywhere.
Ate with my neighbor down the street and was so good but NOT calorie wise.
They had something they call steak ums. There had got to be a make them without so much fat. Sauteed pepper and onions with leftover roast, served on toasted sub bun, then Miracle whip, cheddar cheese, lettuce and little taco sauce. I know it sounds terrible but was so yummy. Messy but yummy.
So will think about it and see if I can't come up with a lighter version.
Sure hope this house thing comes thru soon.
Donna

The house sounds perfect. I do so hope you get this one. I will be checking for sure to see what happened with it.
The weather here is also dreary actually down right cold. It's been raining off and on all day today. And of course I have been out working in it. Put in 13 1/2 hours today..........I need a rest thankfully I am off tommorrow.
Have a great weekend.

Minnie mouse 07-11-03, 11:58 PM Hello everyone and sorry to be getting here so late as its 11:30 PM but had a super busy day today.
got a call from Landlord saying we were approved for the house for HUD and it is being inspected on tuesday so i sighed a relief then felt so happy.
The house is ours!!!!
so we did alot of packing as we will be in for august 1 st and i have tons to do like finish packing and register kids for school and all the other stuff that goes with moving.
I am just so excited i could burst.
well didnt get to exercise today as i really couldnt fit it in. i cleaned and packed and went to bank and did alot of dishes.
tommorow going swimming to my aunts and showing our step girl the "new house"
after its inspected we can sign the lease. i am going on monday to CEO to apply for a security assistance.
plus i have a doctor appt to have ears flushed out on monday too.
got alot going on.
football will start soon. going to see if i can have my son transfered to a team down there but if not and they wont refund me then will have to put up with driving up here till it ends in october and it will be a pain since its 1/2 away and practice is 4 nights a week plus game on sundays.
so will call coach on monday or tuesday about that.
got alot financially to do also and am nervous. i need to find a used dryer to buy. been looking in papers.
got to get my girl a twin bed and i needed a new LR set but my mom is giving me hers and shes getting a new set. so i am glad about that cuz hers is nice. but been skimping on bills here and will pay them up at some point but need things for new place and for hookup fees and cant swing bills from 2 places at once. told kids will get somethings now for house then little at a time add more decor and stuff. we got alot but we want some new things too.
i will be able to do alot of walking there as the neighborhoods have sidewalks and are flat so plan to do that too plus i can swim at aunts anytime as she lives within a 10 min walk. my sis is about a 5 minute drive and parents a 10 min drive.
my mom is looking to give me curtains and stuff. she has so much new she never uses so i am so excited. been waiting for this. my family here doesnt take things for granted and we love the small things. we arent rich or even much of middle class but i tell them we have "class" just the same.
The landlord said when he met us he could tell we are nice people.
been buys junking and burning junk and things we dont want. spent 3 hous packing half of kitchen,. gonna see with the landlord if we can move boxes in before aug 1 and the big things weekend of the 1st which lands on a friday so gonna see if ex can have the kids from the night before so it will be easier. also when he meets me going to see it for an hour later and at a bit of a closer spot for us.
eventually in time will switch jobs to the area were in but for awhile will drive. its not far about 25 min for my job and 35 for hubby but with cost of gas and me needing to be there for bus it would be best to work closer to home but i will miss my friends and kids will to and they are nervous though they love the house and we all will adjust.
my sis came tonight to visit and son went home with her to sleepover so meeting at her house tommorow so hubby can trim her bushes and then were all going swimming.
todays menu:
breakfast: 1 hot tea, 1 slice toast w/ jam
Lunch: 1 cup of soup
dinner: Pizza :(
i dont think i did real bad and hope not. havent had pizza in weeks.
i weighed this morning and maintained from last week so i dont feel bad but wanted a loss. will aim for one this week.
well talk soon and thanks for all the prayers for the house. i was praying too.
Love you all. enjoy the weekend!
Minnie mouse 07-12-03, 12:03 AM P.S. forgot to mention my feet. they still do hurt alot and insurance wont cover night splint and its 108.00 and i cant afford it so didnt get it. still taking celebrex and got appt with podiatrist on wed night, might need cortisone shot. some days it hurts more than others and today it does hurt.
thanks for the concern and for asking.
I am just thrilled for you Minnie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So happy! :D
This is wonderful news! :dn
PS; how are you feet?
Jade
Minnie mouse 07-12-03, 01:09 AM Hello,
Thanks Jade! feet hurt as i posted above this. but thanks for asking.
i am so excited i could scream(in a good way of course)
i was so depressed yesterday over this and my sons room has been leaking when it rains from the bad new roof they put on and never sealed and his wall is a mess. i felt so down and like we were never getting out of this hell hole but now i feel much relief. you see i have a slum lord here and he never does a thing,. hubby mows tons of grass and plows all the snow, we do repairs, and have even remodled some but its old and needs more work and since we dont own it were not putting more money into this,. i have lived here 5 yrs and there hardly any outlets and there is 2 1/2 closets in the whole house,. the basement floods and we have to use sump pump when it rains, we have dealt with power outs due to low voltage amps and had to rewire ourselves with help of hubbys friend and electrician, we have had to buy our own new furnace and took out a loan for it(taking it with us to sell it) we have painted, new kitchen flooring, and the list goes
on. so the answer to my prayers has been answered and we will get out of here finally. God is with me and i am grateful to have this new house to move into where i can have a dryer and nice things like closets and no leaky roof to put buckets under, no big headaches and heartaches and my kids will have a huge neighborhood with tons of kids to play with.(none here) except a few down road. cant walk this road as theres no sidewalks. they wanted kids and sidewalks so they can bike ride and skate and i will get to walk.
the house is so perfect and after living here i will appreciate it.
the only bad thing is we cant take our dog Rusty. we asked everyone we know and no one wants him. he is 4 yrs old part lab part rottie and big and loves to bark all the time but is playful and loving so we may need to take him to SPCA if we cant find him a home so im saddened over that :c( i love my dog but most places wont allow pets. i will be taking my beloved tropical fish.
well gotta get to bed. it is now after 1 am and i am very tired.
nite nite!
Congrats on getting the house Minnie i am thrilled for you....i bet it will feel wonderful to get in there and start out from scratch.
Great that there are lots of places to walk and having access to a pool so close...... you are all set.
i am sorry that your foot is still hurting, hope it feels better soon.
You deserve all the happiness that you feel, exciting times are ahead....busy i bet but exciting.
hugs bell :)
bird songs 07-12-03, 02:33 AM Minnie!
I knew it was just around the corner that you would find a place! I just knew it! I am so happy for you! Sounds like the perfect place, so close to family and all. Your mom is a dear for helping you out with furnature and things too! Its ashame that the landlord you have now wasnt appreciative of all you did while living there. I knew blue skies were just ahead for you Minnie!
What a relief hey??
These insurance companies are getting rediculous about what our payout is as far as medical treatments. Even our prescription costs went up to $20/per script. I take 5-6 diff meds.. My hubby and I both need a back brace, but geez, we will pay most the cost because of that darn deductable. And like you, our feet are not covered? That is rediculous.... its part of our body! lol
I can feel your excitement! I am so truly happy for you Minnie!
Now you can pack up your boxes with a happy smile on your face instead of worry wrinkles!
Prayers dont go unanswered and I am glad you believe!
Have a wonderful day (when you wake up, its 2:30 am here lol)
Minnie:
That's super that you got the house. How exciting for you and your family. That's great your mom is going to give you her living room set. My mom gave me her fridge and stove when my kids were very small. I was so thrilled to have a matching set. I actually had that set for 20 years and just went out and bought my first new set last year. They still sparkle like they day they were delivered. I actually gave away the stove I had to a couple just starting out that didn't have much. They were so happy to get it and I was just as happy knowing it was going somewhere that it would be looked after as I had done with it. They asked me what I wanted for it and I only said there will come a day when you can do this for someone else. So just do it and that is all I ask.
Have a super weekend. I know you will be busy packing and such but you will have a blast.
Judy2:ex:
Whoohoo Sandy, Congratulations

Yippee!! I'm so happy for you and your family. It will be an adjustment, but a good one. You will adapt soon enough and so will the kids. Finally, some GREAT news!! Enjoy moving in and making it your family's home. :)
Sorry about your insurance. That really stinks. I'm spending $130 a month now since they have me on new meds!

And I think you may be getting lots of natural exercise over the next few weeks, but a little extra may help you control the stress. Eat well too, my friend, so you have lots of energy!!!
I hope you have a fantastic rest of your weekend!!!
Minnie mouse 07-13-03, 07:12 PM Hello,
Thanks so much to all my wonderful friends here. this weekend has flown by and has been super busy. i havent sat much. i didnt get to do exercises but i can tell you i havent sat and have been busy running up and down the steps a trillion times a day and everywhere else so i will count it in as exercise.
i am excited but stressed out too and big time nervous.
well lets see on saturday did massive packing with hubby and had kids doing stuff too then headed to sis's and hubby trimmed her bushes and kids played. we ordered subway. My sis is now watching what she eats and trying to lose weight so when i move by her we can go walking together and swimming so that is good.
i helped her set up a small 1.8 gallon fish tank for her daughter. it is sponge bob and then we went to wallmart and i got a new wondra mop and a computer chair.(the chair was on sale) right now i use a folding chair and the one i bought will be in the box till we move. its blue fabric and really nice.
my sis got to goldfish and then we went back to her house and hubby had to assemble a stand she bought for the fish tank. then we set it up in samantha's room( my niece) and then we went to new house just to show step girl , sis and niece but since we dont have the keys yet we showed them the yard and looked in the window to the living room. halfway down the st we saw a post box which is good cuz if i buy a book of stamps i can drop off mail to the box and avoid the post office lines.
well today got up early and took a shower and packed more. step girl went home and then hubbys sis and her family came to visit cuz we gave them our porch swing. were taking our glider set with us but didnt want the swing. so they stayed awhile then i went to my job to get more boxes and stopped to get milk and at another store where i got new dishdrainer set./ it was such a deal. for 5.00 i got the dishdrainer, cutlery tray, soap dish, sponge and paper towel holder. i also bought new air freshners for new house and 2 really nice pictures with Jesus on them and different prayers. i am very spiritual as God has always been there for me and i love things that have Jesus on them.
since i will have an electric stove in the new place i got cute burner covers. there are apples on them. i love the apple theme for the kitchen and i have towels here like that so i am going to decorate new kitchen with that theme. cannot buy all i want right now as i need to watch pennies so will have to buy a little at a time after we move. will take awhile to get all i want but thats okay with me as i am patient.
today i skipped breakie and for lunch had cup of soup,
dinner was 2 turkey burgers and spicy hot doritos.
snack will be Hot tea and i am chugging water by the gallon.
tommorow morning i have to go to doctors to have ears flushed out and then for groceries. after hubby gets off work got to head to CEO to fill out application for help with security deposit. tuesday is the inspection so i pray it all goes smooth. i got so much to do that i am running in circles but got alot done and boxes are packed organized and labeled.
also did tons of laundry, tons of dishes, made beds, swept floor and so on.
i am so tired but cannot sleep from so much on my mind. been sleeping 4-5 hours per night. got circles under my brown eyes.
hubby tells me to get rest but i lie there and cannot sleep.
plus football practice starts next monday and got to call coach and home son can change teams cuz otherwise will be so hard. our new house is 1/2 from here and practices are 4 nights a week plus a game on sunday all the way till october and once school starts plus working it will be impossible. so hope he can change teams if not i will be forced to drive up here and then next season he will have to be on the team in new town.
gotta sign lease and register kids for school and the whole 9 yard list of "to do's"
foot still hurts. got appt on wed night for that.
still no home for our doggie :c(
i hope we find him one soon.
gotta clean fish tank soon too and call my friend to cut our hair and i gotta get kids school clothes on layaway soon. only getting them a few things for now and more for x-mas. they do have alot of clothes already.
my family is now watching"Big Momma's House" with Martin Lawrence. that movie is so funny.
well going to read journals and hang out more clothes.
take care and enjoy your evening.
Love you all too!
bird songs 07-13-03, 08:21 PM I would say you did have a bit to do lol
Before we moved where we are now, we had a big party at the farm and burned most of our unwanted things in a huge bonfire..
Easier than packing LOL
One day at a time, Minnie.. Just take things in order of urgency and let tomorrow take care of itself.
You should take a nice long bubble bath lol
I am glad you got to get a few things for your new house! Its exciting isnt it??
Minnie mouse 07-13-03, 08:23 PM I forgot to mention my sis gave me flag pole for porch where you display flags of holidays and seasons and she gave me a winnie the pooh flag so hubby is varnishing pole cuz its weathered and it will be like new cuz she went and bought a new one.
boy im getting lots of nice new things and im not even moved in yet.
next spring sis is getting new kitchen and giving me hers and in the summer getting a pool and giving me her table and chairs with the umbrella for outside.
sis is so glad were moving by her cuz shes alone most of the time other than her daughter but i mean adult wise.
and mom and dad are glad we will live closer but will be further drive for work for awhile and to step girl and to meet my kids dad but oh well its worth it as this place is so nice.
you have to understand how ive lived to understand how good i feel.
i was raised upper middle class and got married to kids dad and we were young and poor. first apt we had was super nice but we outgrew it and he went to school for welding and then we moved 2 hrs away to Bangor Pa. second floor apt and was very nice and i liked it there but money was tight so we moved up in the country( i do mean boondocks) and it a house he used to live in growing up and his parents moved out but didnt sell it so we could live rent free but at a high price otherwise. there was not much neighbors on our dirt road and it was the first i ever saw a live cow while driving down the road. we had no running water and i had a 2 yr old and a 6 month old.
so my dad gave us money to dig a water line. we had a wood stove for heat and i hated it. the wood would get wet and have to be dried out, the house was old and underinsulated so felt chilly alot, didnt have friends or cable tv(bought lots of vcr tapes then)
regular tv hardly came in and the 2 channels that did were all static. i took great care of my babies but we were poor so i made sure my kids had diapers and baby food and all they needed and sometimes i lived on cereal and dry soups for weeks. it sucked!
we had 1 car which he had all the time so i didnt go anywhere to much except making the hour each way drive on the weekend to go get food.
so when i left him i ended up in public housing being all i could afford with 3 small kids and being alone but the place was so nice and it was a clean development too.
when me and my hubby(SAM) met he couldnt stay in housing with me as we werent married so we had to move and he wanted to be closer to his job and we couldnt find a place and were very much in love. this house of course was way more then we bargained for. we fixed it up but it has alot of problems and i do without alot like a dryer and closets but that is why i am so glad to move to somewhere nice so my kids can have kids to play with and nice nieghborhood and such,. the area i live in is a rich one though we are not.
growing up i never needed a thing and as an adult i have struggled and always made sure my kids had before me and that is why i dont have much for myself and when someone gives me something even used i love it anyways cuz its new to me so i am now ready to make new start and new life for me. i am 32 yrs old and need to be happy now at this time in my life. sick of wanting and needing and never having so i will rise above all this and not look back nor forget how hard these yrs have been but how lucky and blessed i have been to have a great family and friends like all of you, for finding this site which will save my life one day as i am getting healthy and i am thankful everyday for a roof over my head and food in the fridge and heat when its cold out.
I thank God for all these things.
by the way, the baby birds were born in the nest on my porch, they are so cute. hope they live and dont die like last years.
ok going to have my tea and read now that i bared my soul. feel safe enough and loved enough here to do that.
good night!
you make me feel the same way mouse

...have i told ya how damn happy I am for ya ????
hahhaha

mdonna612 07-14-03, 10:50 AM Minnie
I was raised in a home without running water and no phone for first 9 or 10 yr of my life. Not quite sure of when we got running water but remember taking a bath in a big metal tub. Water had to be boiled to heat.
The phone in my mom's old home is still rotary I bet----my brother lives there now. Grew up with black and white TV and still don't have cable.
My son takes so for granted the nice neighborhood he grows up in. There was no sidewalk in mine. We lived in a little town with only one grocery. We went to the laundrymatt every week and my mom didn't learn to drive till I was 11.
Christmas shoppping and going to see my grandma in her city was a big deal. She had an old fashion claw tub with running water and swing on her porch.
I'd forgotten this aspect of my childhood. No joke. I know I am so much better off than my mother was and she died years ago when Phil was 7 months old.
Minnie, I am tickled for your new home. And understand much more than you realize how a sense of security and love comes from home. I think my compulsiveness in buying towels and such stems alot from this sense of not having. Even though it isn't my reality today, there is a sense of it embedded deep within me.
Gotta scoot.
Donna
maximum 07-14-03, 11:36 AM Whokay, I'm feelin really appreciative of my life right now. I to had my share of living poor, In short Lived as a single mom, rented a room in a flop house of drug users, and worked two jobs, from 1a, till 6:00 pm at night, and sometimes only had rice to eat.
Thank you lord for all that I have.
I'm so happy for you Min.... Really I am! :hop:
{{{SANDY}}} All that packing you did over the weekend, I would definetly count that as working out. Packing is hard work so that does count as exercise. Well at least I think it should LOL.
That’s great that you and your sister are going to be each other’s weight lose buddies. Is she going to follow the WW program too? I think it’s really great to have a good support system when it comes to weight lose. Having your sister by your side and all of us at diettalk your going to be getting support almost 24 hours a day.
An apple themed kitchen sounds really sweat. And a great reminder that we should all eat an apple a day. What’s your favorite kind of apple? Mine is the golden delicious YUMMY. But I can’t eat them anymore. Half of the time when I eat one I get a stomach ache from them. Now when I’m at the store I get 3 pound bag of the fugi apples
After reading the rest of your journal entry you’ve really feel great to have a friend like you in my life.
Take care ~ Katherine
I'm so thrilled that you got the house that you wanted, Minnie!
I've been told that having a bird nest on your porch is good luck. Hope that's true, because I have one too.
Minnie mouse 07-14-03, 03:17 PM hello,
well wanted to post on here and i must be quick as i havent sat all day or had 1 min.
got up and rode 2 miles on bike and did 50 AB crunches and 10 side to side crunches. wanted to walk 1 mile tape but simply no time to but will tommorow as i will have more time, i hope.
washed 2 loads of clothes last night and hung out and washed 2 this morning and had my girl hang out.

lunch: 2 slices multi grain toast w/ 1 tsp jam and Mint hot tea 6 pts
dinner: 3 lite ballparks and 3 multigrain bread and 1 cup blueberries

i am under the min of pts by 6 pts so will try to get it in,. menu today isnt too balanced but doing well and under points so gotta dig some up. i went grocery shopping too and got wheat, crushed oat and multi grain bread. trying to avoid white bread. hubby loves it so got 1 loaf of it and going to try to convert him to new breads. i enjoyed the multi grain(7 grain bread) today.

Busy, busy, busy,
Glad to see you are making sure you eat enough. I would be starving on that diet of yours, lol.
Hope you have a nice evening and enjoy the movie.
mcmarto 07-14-03, 08:07 PM You are too sweet Minnie...I wish you only the best!
I am so happy for you and your family...your sis too since you will be close to her and you two can get out there and create more happy memories!
I am so sorry you have to give away your pooch????...mcmarto
mdonna612 07-14-03, 08:51 PM How do you fix your brussel sprouts?
I like them but never have fixed them myself.
Got books myself from the library on picture perfect diet and low carbs. Phil wants to go on Atkins diet and not sure how healthy this is.
So reading to see how people can do this long term. I eat lots of fruits and veggies myself. Can't imagine a meat driven diet.
And what about cholesterol and fat laden meals. I am reading to see if it is workable.
Can see you're busy.

mickeyvoll 07-15-03, 10:50 AM Hi Minnie
I'm so happy that you have found yourself a wonderful house and that you are excited to be getting ready to move in! I can't wait to hear about your new neighbourhood, and perhaps you will make some new friends - although of course you will have your sister for company.
I hope you enjoyed your film last night!
minnie - your past post sure brought back some memories for me lol
I remember when I was so poor I did not even own a winter coat for like 15 years! I always told people that the heavy sweaters i wore was warm enough - mean while I was freezing lol but my kids had warm coats and that was what mattered!
Finally a friend bought me a 50.00 blue jean coat that was really heavy and warm - I wore that thing until it fell apart lol
I sewed it so many times and when the blue jean faded out I even bought blue jean dye for 2.00 and got a few more years out fo it lol
I only owned "sunday" underwear lol ( you know "holy" - full of holes lol ) and was also ashamed to go out in public as my clothing was so wore out.
To this day - my daughter or my husband have to all but force me to buy new bras and such for myself lol
and even then i still buy cheap cheap cheap lol
They have both been on me to buy better now that its just me and hubby -
When ever times were tough and at times even now I hit rough times - i always said " I will get through this as I have to"...... :)
Thanks for reminding me to be grateful for all I do have and that the kids never had to go with their needs nor most of their wants.
Jade :peace:
MissChuckle 07-15-03, 04:37 PM Hi Minnie
I'm so glad that you've managed to get the house that you wanted in a nice area. And so glad that its happened to someone like you, who really appreciates how good it is.
You sound a lot happier than when I was last around. :D

Minnie mouse 07-15-03, 11:33 PM Hello everyone(yes im still alive) but so so busy. i cannot even describe it,.
well got up early once again. i think the whole summer i slept in maybe 3 times till 8 or 9 but get up early mostly,
didnt exercise :c( but beleive me all i did counts too as i have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off.
i have been eating very good and drinking the water and i peeked today and scale is gone down. so i am hoping to have a 2-3 pound loss this week bringing me under the 200 finally,
i got books from library which are so helpful. i got 1 book called healing foods and it is so good and useful. actually this week i changed most of my old eating habits and am creating new ones. i am eating things i never eat and enjoying trying new foods that are good for me. actually am so low on points but totally full most of the time and weight is coming off so i have learned with some foods its not how much we eat all the time but what we eat. so been eating veggies, soups, fruits, brown rice, hot tea, multi grain, oat and wheat breads.(gave up the white bread) doing really well, that multi grain bread really fills me up.
even got my 2 girls to eat the multi grain bread and they love it. still cant get hubby off white bread but am trying too.
we are all so stressed here but it will pass as we adjust. went to CEO before work and did application for help with security deposit. hope they can help us out. i pray!
and tommorow gotta get up early to exercise and clean then got to new place and meet landlord to have him fill out a paper for CEO, plus moving boxes in. Hubby has my van heaping with boxes as im running out of room in house for all this so landlord said we can move in boxes. then weekend of the 1st we will be moving the big stuff but this is good as for now i can get boxes down there unloaded and set up things some so its not all at once cuz hubbys friend is moving after us and will need help and his sister is too so going to help them out.
august 17th going with sis and niece to knoebels amusement park like we do every august. kids cannot wait to go. they look forward to it each yr. usually my mom and dad go to but there going to Tennessee on vacation with my 2 aunts and 2 uncles.
found ad in paper for 2 twin beds with headboards, frame box springs and mattresses for only 80.00 so i called tonight and she said there in great condition so going on sat morning to see them and buy them if i like them gotta get dryer yet and still looking in paper.
only can do so much at a time so will buy things a little at a time as i can afford to and for x-mas and so on. plus my friend is getting married and hubby is best man and i am invited to the shower so more money needed plus some school clothes but kids have tons of clothes so only getting a few things and then more for x-mas. have a list of things to get but can now cuz i need to get settled first.
called mom today and we talked and i think sunday shes coming to new place to see it and shes looking to give me curtains and stuff. she has so much she never uses.
cancelled foot doctor appt for tommorow night cuz hubby wants to bring more boxes down there and leave off paper to CEO that landlord needs to fill out.
so need to reschedule that but also once lease is signed which will be after the security is paid( paying 100 toward it on friday or sat) then gotta register kids from school. got copies of there immunizations from doctors too so i can register them but got so many calls to make my head is spinning. my hubbys one friend he works with is coming next week to look at our furnace as were selling it.
washed clothes today and did so much i cannot even list it all so i will try, washed dishes, swept floor, fed fish, ran to bank and to get gas, made coffee pot for tommorow, read, went to CEO, worked, took shower, packed, junked things, went through kids closets(major project in itself) my mess of a closet is next. :(
I am enjoying this variety of new foods. even bought zucchini and i realize alot of these foods are filling and so low in cal and fat and can eat good amounts of them so thats good. also got a book which compares foods and it shows pictures too of like if something is 800 calories how something else can be eaten in way larger amt for same cals. it shows not all calories are created equal. also got a good book by Marilu Henner the 30 Day makeover and it was really good.
well going to read more journals and trying to keep up with you all as i miss everyone and want to know whats going on each day with you so bare with me if im not posting as much cuz i am trying too.
gottta go. go a little boy sleeping under the afghan on couch and he needs to go to bed.
girls just did facial from a beauty book from the library and i must say there skin is soft and glowing.
here is the recipe for the facial:
1 egg white, beaten
1 TBSP honey
a few drop of apple cider vinegar
beat the egg white till frothy,
then add remaining ingredients, spread over your face and leave on for a few minutes,
rinse off with tepid water.
well on that note i am going for now.
take care.
forgot my menu today:
breakfast: 2 slices multi grain toast with 1 TBSP PT butter
lunch : 2 slices multi grain toast with 1 TBSP pt butter and 1 cup of red rose tea
dinner: 4 baked hashbrowns (was in major hurry to get to CEO and work) but no damage as they were baked and not fried and i am still under points)
snacks: 1/2 cup blueberries, and 2 cups mint hot tea
pts came to 23.5 9range 24-31)
hard to beleive i am short on points and full. trying to fit things in but cant so just stopping when full.
forgot to mention on sat afternoon is hubbys company work picnic we go to each yr. it is in bosses yard and its drinks all day , live band and catered food. so i will try to behave but using that day as my treat day.
ok really going for now.
Minnie mouse 07-16-03, 08:44 AM Good Morning,
wanted to stop here quickly to post exercise and menu for today.
Menu:
breakfast: 1 cup brown rice w/ zucchini, broccoli and small amt soy sauce 6pts
lunch: 2 baked potatoes(small) with broccoli and salsa) 6 pts
dinner: 3 lite ballpark hot dogs w/ 2 slices crushed oat bread 7 pt
snack: 2 cups hot tea and 1 slice wheat toast w/ 1 tsp Jam and 1 tsp pt butter, 1 cup blueberries
total: 24 points( range 24-31) hope i can get it all in and its the min amt of points but i am full from all this low cal and low fat new foods and cant seem to get enough calories in so will see today. from gaining from the weekend with the pizza and all i have lost 2.5 so far and am under the 200 mark and still have today and tommorow before i weigh on friday so its looking good.
exercise: 1 mile walk tape, 2 miles on exercise bike, 50 AB crunches and 10 side to side AB crunches(the side to side ones are harder)
drinking water and got wash done. need to do more than go run all the errands. will be gone for a few hrs.
have a great day!
P.S. Donna, that Picture Perfect weight loss book i got sounds the same as yours. is it by Dr. Sharpiro? very good useful book.
ok bye bye for now.
mdonna612 07-16-03, 10:06 AM Minnie
Yes, the book is from Dr. Saphiro and is a 30 day change your method of eating book. I find it interesting and informative. And probably do-able. Actually very much like what Phil has been doing except he eats meat and this guy support soy.
Glad it's a good busy you're enjoying.
Made pea casserole and have stuffed cabbage, the lazy man style, you layer rather than stuff the cabbage. You make a meat sauce of ground beef, onion and tomatoe sauce, and a little sugar to take out the sharp acid taste of tomatoes and then layer the cabbage----I actually cut it in 2 inch chunks and just stir it in. Bake and it's so yummy.
Got all the dishes done up but the stuffed cabbage pan that is in the oven.
Got clothes in the dryer to refluff and fold. Need a bath before going to the gym.
The head nurse didn't call me over the letter I wrote regarding the red dot person and there was no note in my box yesterday at work----went to hospital to give blood and checked. I don't expect it changes anything but I really needed to vent the unfairness of the situation.
Gotta scoot,
Donna
Minnie! Slow down woman! lol ;)
My goodness!
Have you ever heard the saying the pot calling the kettle black? lol and you are always telling me to slow down lol
Your eating is :super: and I am soooooooooooo proud of you! :D
Jade
chumlette 07-17-03, 12:52 AM I am exhausted just reading your last few journal entries.
But wow, Minn! You are doing FANTASTICALLY with your eating and exercise, girlfriend. I am so darned proud of you, Minnie! How do you do it? You are dealing with the stress so well. I really admire you. Day by day, my friend. Day by Day.
I can't believe it is time for you to go to that amusement park again. I met you around that time last year, didn't I? Sounds familiar, at least. You will need a little break by then, huh? ha
So, curious, what does the hot tea do? And how can you stand drinking it in this heat???
Also, I got the Picture Perfect Weight Loss book for DLIP (of course he hasn't even looked at it). I thought it was great.
Miss you gobs and gobs!!!
Minnie mouse 07-17-03, 09:10 AM Good Morning,
well got up and showered and wanted to come on here and post since the computer is free to use as the girls are sleeping and they are usually on it.
got to leave early to go get my paycheck then will be home rest of the day doing more packing. i want to clean out me and hubbys closet and its a big job so my daughter is helping me.
I am doing very well with all the eating and making way better choices and it is showing. i weigh tommorow but have been losing pretty well this week and i am now under the 200 line but i will change stats to exact figure tommorow.
didnt plan menu yet but i will be doing that soon and will exercise too sometime today.
got work tonight too.
Last night we dropped off signed paper to CEO so keeping fingers crossed they can help with good portion of security cost.
then went to new house for 2nd time yesterday. unloaded more boxes and my son saw little boy across st and wanted to meet him but he was shy to go over and introduce himself so i took him over and spent 1/2 talking to the kids mom. I am not too shy.
and i love to talk so i know i can make friends fast.
hubby will need some adjusting in the new place as he is used to country type of area and hes lived in this area for years but he will adapt to like i did when i moved here to be with him and i didnt know anyone and besides my job i really dont have friends up here except the people he knows.
honestly i grew up 10 min from where this new place is and i felt so homey yesterday. theres an alley behind the house and i went looking for the girls as they were checking out the neighborhood and i felt like i did when growing up with people around. theres alot of small kids close to us(mostly girls from what i could see) but 2 boys across st. the one kid is 7 and my son is 9 so they played ball together.
the girls didnt see anyone around there age but theres tons of streets and houses so there has to be some girls there ages around. i found out my older girl will walk to school, its like 5-10 min walk so will show her the walk and try to find her a friend or 2 so she will have someone to walk with as she is nervous.
soon as lease is signed then i can register them for school, show them the schools and get the utilities in our name and set a date top shut off utilities here. cant do any of that till lease is signed which will be soon.
I dont mind the hot tea even in the heat, it relaxes me, tastes good and makes me pee endlessly too. goes through me faster than water and it fills me up. been eating tons of stuff but all very low fat, cal foods and there filling.
there is lots of cabinets in the new kitchen and storage so glad about that as we are so crammed here without storage space.
my neighbor has small dog so i guess we can have small pet since he has same landlord.
but our dog is too big so cant have him there and still cant find home for him. praying we do,.
i dont want a pet right now with all thats going on except my fish. maybe down the road. dont know.
looking for new job closer to the house.
will miss my friends at work when i do find new job. but hopefully will make new friends i like too.
Plus all you gals get to move with me to my new place. i never have to say goodbye to any of you and i feel super about that.
Each room has plenty of outlets(here there are few) there is like 6 per room except 1 in bathroom.
well i gotta run for now. will post later my menu and exercise. cant wait to weigh in tommorow. hubby is doing well this week too and were neck and neck. as of yesterday we weigh the same but i am soon to change that as i want to pass him and get lower than him like i was before.
have a good day!
mdonna612 07-17-03, 10:13 AM Minnie
You are moving to lose----and aware of food choices. Kinda laughable when you once not so long ago said SKIP it all.
You are worth the effort and am so proud of your committment to you.
Got to get moving so this is short today.
Donna
{{{SANDY}}}
That's great that your in control of your eating. I'm in control of my eating too. Well ok the past few days I didn't do so good, but today I'm really going to do my best.
This morning for breakfast I really wanted something sweet like an ice cream bar. Lucky for me their isn't any in the house. Otherwise I might of eaten a few bars. Instead I made myself a smoothie. Not as good as ice cream; however in the long run my waist line will thank me for it.
I cant' wait to see your results tomorrow. Congraulations on making it under the 200 line. That must totally put you on cloud 9
I know what you mean about feeling homey. Until the 4th grade i lived in San Jose (a different part from where I live now) then we moved to Sunnyvale and I lived there for like 15 years. Whenever I drive by my old house in San Jose it totally brings back alot of memories. I think it's fun to remember your childhood and all the times a person had.
I'm sorry that you can't keep your dog. Hopefully you guys will find him a good home.
Hey that's great. Were all moving with ya Sandy. I can't wait. I've always wanted a white Christmas and this year, thanks to you, I'm going to get one.
When you workout in the morning, do you usually eat something before? I was just wondering cause I'm not sure if I should eat something before or after.
have a great day ~ Katherine

well going for now as i got tons to do.
Katherine, in answer to your question i usually eat something light before i exercise but sometimes i dont eat till later. it doesnt seem to affect me either way. as long as your exercsing but i wouldnt do it on a full stomach either.
ok thanks to the rest of you for all posting and thinking of me.
take care.
Minnie mouse 07-17-03, 02:33 PM My mind is on a different planet! I forgot to post exercise for today.

Minnie mouse 07-17-03, 11:05 PM Hello,
well found out i was due back child support from 1996 and will be getting a check for 325.00 so am thrilled as i surely deserve it since my kids get a total of 67.00 a month from ex and no more.
but i guess the check was issued in Jan and i never got it so i got to go to assistance office on monday to sign papers saying i never got it and then it will go to harrisburg and be mailed to me. i told the caseworker i will be moving so he said that when the paperwork is done he wont have the check sent till i move so i know it will come to my new address.
then i was doing some checking on the child rebate tax and from what i saw is as long as you filed a child credit on 2002 taxes will receive around 400.00 per child. hope this is true as i need money badly.
anyways had a change for dinner since hubbys nephew came to buy the jeep. the money was owed to the bank but we needed it out of our yard so since it was in both our names i had to go transfer it too so i took a bowl of cooked carrots with ,me and 1 potato. i was so hungry. so got to work and ordered the best i could. i got a grilled chicken sand with lettuce, onion, pickles and bbq sauce and skipped the mayo,. it was good and did the trick otherwise i was so under points. im not suppose to go under them minimum.
right now slugging down ice water. and getting very sleepy. i am sleeping in tommorow as i dont have to run anywhere in the morning. will get up and weigh in too so wish me luck. made my family elbow noodles and sauce tonight and i didnt have any. and for me thats good as i love pasta. of course i do im all italian. LOL
gotta pack kids clothes for weekend at there dads. there going tommorow night but me and hubby got busy weekend.
tommorow night kids going to dads then on sat morning we got to get up early and go get the beds and take them to new house. then to go give landlord 100 toward security deposit then drive back up here to hubbys company picnic. on sunday hubby gotta help dad move couch and chair were getting from them to new house and i gotta pick up kids and then go back to new house to meet parents there. mom is seeing what curtains she may have and wants to see the house.
monday afernoon gotta go to assistance office to sign papers about not receiving the CS refund check and the list goes on as i have to make trips to new house this week to, to start unloading the boxes and taking more there.
well enough said right now. im sure my daily tasks sound quite boring.
but as is life sometimes....
take care and love you all!
mcmarto 07-18-03, 12:20 AM Gosh...you are always so busy!
But...doing so well with your points...and your food choices!

Found money that you didn't realise you had is the best. That's great news to know your getting some especially when your moving as it will come in handy with all the extra expenses you have right now. Your doing great on your plan to stay fit and healthy. Minnie mouse 07-18-03, 04:15 PM Hello,
ended up getting the 2 mile walk tape in,50AB crunches and 15 side to side crunches. plus the 2 miles on bike.
doing well today with food again. its starting to become more routine now. not hungry following it either. mostly in my mind.
went through 2 bags of curtains and need to see what will match and fit in new place in case i need to buy any. hopefully i wont need too.
dont know what me and hubby will be eating tonight so i ate really low on points and am now getting hungry. probably get subway or a salad somewhere.
it finally stopped raining out and is warming up though most of the day is gone. hubby stopped here during lunchtime to change as he was all wet from the rain.
kids and myself al took our showers and got kids packed for weekend.
looking forward to some alone time with my husband and a little relaxation tommorow at the picnic.
i am making my min weight loss goals in increments of 5 pound losses. easier for me to lose and to focus on.
my first one though isnt a 5 pound goal its 7.5 to get me down to an even 190 then it will be in 5 pound losses.
have 15 mini goals of 5 pounds each to make it to my goal so taking 1 loss at a time and xing it off as i reach it.
i did reach first goal of getting under 200 so that is one gone off the list.
will just keep doing my best creating new habits and will not stress on weeks i maintain or if i slip and gain as i know i am human and not a quitter. wont ever quit,.
my mind is set back to how i felt when i first joined DT and in that frame of mind i seem to focus well and stick to plan.
the greatest feeling i know for success is stepping on the scale and after much effort seeing the numbers go down and clothes fit better then it feels worth it all.
anyways gotta go as hubby will be home soon then we will be heading out to take kids to meet there dad.
have a good weekend!
Minnie:
Way to go girl on the loss.....
Your so focused and planning on ways to help you through the picnic is awesome. Hope you and hubby have a great weekend and you relax some as you need it.

Hi Minnie!
Thanks for stopping by my journal today.
I love company. Whenever I go to my journal and see "go to first unread message" I always get happy because I've got something to read besides my own words. :D
Congratulations on your loss.
I see you plan ahead. I usually try to. You mentioned points, so I'm assuming that you are following the WW plan?
I don't know a whole lot about everyone around here yet because I was gone for a long time and haven't gotten around to everything yet, so forgive me if I sound a tad bit dumb at times.
You're lucky to have your hubby doing this with you. I always think it must help to have someone working with you so they have an idea what you're going through.
Enjoy your picnic and have a relaxing weekend.
chumlette 07-19-03, 02:01 AM Wahoo!!!!! Minnie!!!!! I am so so so so SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!

Your doing so great with everything. Your truly an inspriation. Are you and your daughter still working out together? I think I found a way to make workouts a lot more enjoyable. Instead of listening to Leslie's voice I turn turn down the TV and crank up the music. Her moves are so easy to follow that I don't really need to listen to her. I've already workout 3 days this week and after my workout today it will make 4 days.
Your meals yesterday sound really good and healthy. Have you trued Smart Balance margarine? For two tablespoons it's only 1 point. It doesn't taste like diet margarine at all. I would highly recommenned it.
have a great weekend! Katherine
Hey there Minnie,
Thanks for stopping by my journal, it was great to see a new face!
Congrats on your weight loss. Love the idea of thinking of it in 5lbs rather than the huge pic.
And wow, what an inspiration you are for the exercise thing. I haven't done any excercise yet because I just hate it! Any suggestions on where to start??
Keep up the great work & enjoy your weekend.
-Tasha
things are just happening for ya girl
lots of hard work
but you are making it all happen !!!
I love the idea of 5 pound goals too
the scale can be scary sometimes..esp when what i want to see is way past what I see
I got to meet a DT buddy today and it was fun !!!
good thing too...as I am so up and down
I am so glad I have a constant tho... YOU !!!!!
I hope you have a great weekend
luv ya tons buddy

Congrats on the under 200 mark! Your hard work and mindset are really working for you. Hooray!
Hi Minnie! Way to go! That must feel sooo good, being under 200. And, I don't usually set goals because I always seem to set myself up for failure, but, by gosh! I think a 5-pound goal just might be doable! (Can you tell I'm from Minnesota?"by gosh!) :curtsey:
I know things will keep happening for you in a positive way with your drive and attitude. Stay strong!
Have a nice day!
Minnie mouse 07-20-03, 01:04 PM Hello,
cant stay on here long as i have to go pick up my kids soon.
well yesterday morning went to look at those beds and they were beautiful matching set so we bought them for the girls. there already set up in there new bedroom. i cant wait to see there reactions.
then went to picnic. i did ok. not as good as i wanted but not as bad as i have in the past. i did bring a cooler with my own drinks. i brought water and diet soda.
food wise i had tons of fresh fruit, and i had boneless skinless chicken done in lemon juice, i had 3 small swedish meatballs, 1 roll,2 thin slices roast beef, 1 small scoop of potatoes, and a scoop of lima beans. but we ate a second time at night and i ate again. :(
well today got up and had time to ride only 2 miles on bike but better than none.
had 2 slices wheat toast w/ spray butter and egg whites scrambeled 3pts.
lunch was steamed veggies of green and wax beans, onion, carrots and peas and a smart ones chicken veg bowl 5pt.
dinner: dont know as aunt is cooking on grill.
this morning hubby his brother and my dad went and moved my moms living room set into our new house. his brother is giving us a love seat too for the sitting room.
i got 4 loads of clothes washed and made bed, washed dishes, fed fish, grocery shopped, swept floor, made coffee pot for tommorow and still got a load of towels to hang.
after i pick up kids stopping home to have kids change and then going to new house. sis is meeting us there and taking kids swimming a block over to my aunts pool so me and hubby can get some things done in the new house. then mom and dad coming to see the house. then going to aunts to swim/eat.
will swim if i can find time.
tommorow afternoon got an appt. and will be packing most of the day,
well gotta go for now. try to catch up to you all later.
take care and thanks so much for all the support and love.
Minnie mouse 07-20-03, 09:51 PM Hello,
well today did well with food. i wrote down menu all except for dinner. went to aunts and she had small cookout, i had a hamburger, 2 ears corn on cob and salad. diet soda and water too.
skipping snack tonight except might have a hot tea later.
showed parents and sis new house and aunt stopped over. they all liked it, my mom said whatever CEO doesnt cover with security she will loan me. anyways measured for curtains and mom took me over some pretty sets. am so excited. getting so many nice new things.
my new LR furniture looks great and is comfy. for our sitting room my hubbys brother is giving us a love seat he has and his friend who lives in a trailer got his GF a new wahser/dryer stackable set so giving us for free electric dryer so i finally will have a dryer after 5 years.
i am so thrilled. we emptied alot of boxes too.
so next few days will be busy packing more and gotta call new utlities tommorow to see when they want my name changed to them and got other calls to make then gotta register kids for school in next 2 weeks the latest.
girls loved there bed sets. they looked so happy with them.
wed during day going down to clean house and bring more boxes. will spend whole day there.
thursday nite getting haircuts around 5 and maybe later were might bring more down. the more we got down there and put away the easier it will be.
so making progress. now i gotta job hunt too for a job closer to house.
kids swam over aunts but i didnt cuz its TOM and didnt feel like getting wet today,. have bad cramps and feel bloated.
hubby has bad hangover from yesterdays picnic so hes in bed now.
in 2 weeks will be living in new house. boy the time is flying by.
the kids wanna stay there now and so do i but we cant yet. i told them soon enough we will be living there.
i do got good news on the dog. we didnt find him a home but my friend said if we dont then she'll take him till she finds him a home. she travels alot doing flea markets. she makes and sells jewelery so that is a relief too.
my aunt is giving me 2 nice lamps and possibly 2 end tables.
well going to read some journals then to pack more then off to bed.
take care.
mdonna612 07-20-03, 10:01 PM Minnie
Sounds like it's coming all together and it's easy to be nice to good people. I have given so much to Goodwill, boxes of curtains to bed frames and headboards. Wish I lived closer for have barstools, a set of 4, I am not using.
I am a giver. Would love to help but distance pervents it.
Am happy for you.

Congraulations on doing so well with your food menus yesterday. Don't you find it a lot easier to stay on track, when you keep write everything down that you eat? I sure do.
Do you like popcorn? Orvile Rechenbacher has these mini bags that are 94% fat free. Only 2 points each perfect for snacking. I found some at the store not to long ago and had to try them now I'm tottally hooked. Problem is their kind of expensive so I ge them off line.
I bet you feel like Christmas is coming early this year. With all your new stuff. I'm so happy for you and your family.
I'm glad that you found a temperary home for your dog. That sure is nice of your friend to do that for you.
have a great day! Katherine
mdonna612 07-21-03, 06:29 PM Minnie
Enjoyed talking with you yesterday.
Cramps so bad I can't function and witches have nothing on my short temper. Geeze.
Hurt too bad to eat bad. It's 6 pm and had a little casserole. Gave most of mine to the dog.
Had some cantelope this morning about 8 am.
Tomorrow will be better. Headed for the tylenol bottle now.
Donna
Minnie mouse 07-21-03, 10:32 PM Hello,
well i am crampy too but still pushing myself along. managed to ride 3 miles on bike today but had to stop cuz i am in pain this TOM and had alot of other things to do.
packed up more and did 1/2 of my messy closet. boxed up winter clothes and labeled them. washed lots of laundry and usual household chores. called new utilitie companies to tell them when to activate them and spent lots of time on phone doing that so one day this week gotta call the companies i have now to have them stopped for when i move.
it rained tonight so bad and had lots of lightening and thunder which we i hate. trees down and all. powe went out 2 times at work. it has stopped now.
hubby will be going to new house tommorow night while im at work to bring more boxes and he will have the kids with him and his sister. he is showing her the house.
i might register kids for school on wed when i go down. im spending most of the day there on wed cleaning and unpacking stuff.
ate good today and drank alot of water.
menu was:
breakfast: hot tea 1pt
lunch: 2 cups rice pilaf 8 pts
broccoli 0pts 1 slice grain bread 2 pts
dinner: 1 cup mac and cheese 5 pts and pierogies 8 pts
snack: 2 cups of hopt tea 2pts(didnt have yet)
so total was 26 (range 22-29)
my goal this week is to be down to an even 195 so will see.
tommorow will try to do walk tape.
the day just isnt long enough to do all i need too. my 11 yr old said she knew it would be alot of work to move but didnt realize how much and is shocked at all of it.
well gotta get going.
take care and talk soon.
Kussanna 07-22-03, 09:35 AM A motivated Minnie is a good Minnie.
Soo happy to see you doing well. And just as busy as ever. :D
Have a great day!

mdonna612 07-22-03, 10:11 AM Minnie
We must be on the same cycle and today the cramps are bearable but should be gone by evening. Went to nsg meeting and stopped and paid a bill. Got dishes to do and loads of housework but may wait till I don't feel so bad.
Want to go to the gym but may just do cardio. I don't feel like my guts are being ripped out today but headed for the tylenol bottle none the less.
Need to thaw out some meat for the bud's supper. Brought home eggs, sausage and bacon from work for him. It is cheap enough there. That and a bacon tomatoe sandwich was only $2.67. He drank his one 20 oz glass of milk today with it.
Told him this is only for 4 weeks but I already feel worried over the fat in that breakfast and told him I'd prefer to buy him lean ham. He agreed to try it. Can get lean ham and eggs. I just don't want it to be bacon everything. He loves bacon but again, I worry about the fat and the # of eggs. Have to read more in that book about permissible foods.
Sounds busy but exciting all the changes in your day. Would love to see your place too. Hope it makes your life easier. Is there a time limit to being on section 8? I know nothing of this assistance and wondered if it has to be renewed yearly.
Better scoot.
Donna

MissChuckle 07-22-03, 11:27 AM Hi Minnie
Glad to see you as busy as ever. And all your talk of the laundry made me realise I had left a load in the dryer for hours. So thanks for that.
You're still doing great, which is obviously great for you, and also good motivation for me. So by being good to yourself, you're also doing a good deed.
Chuckles
Minnie mouse 07-22-03, 12:56 PM Hello,
well 1st question to answer for Donna is there isnt a time limit on section 8 as long as you stay financially eligbile. if you make more money then allowed for family size then you wouldnt be eligible, each yr they do an inspection for safety issues. i had it before when i lived in public housing.
well hubby didnt have work due to rain last night so got more packed up and he took a load to new house this morning.
then he got his friend to come over with truck and trailer and we took apaart sons bed and emptied dressers and i loaded up car with more boxes.
but mother nature had other plans for me today. it is pouring so stuff all over house. big congestion of stuff till the rain stops. hubby said he might go down later today.
well rode 3 miles on bike and cant list everything else as it is too much but food is good.
breakfast: hot tea 1pt
lunch: baked pot spray butter 3pts
2 ff hot dogg and 2 pieces bread 4 pt
hot tea 1 pt.
dinner dont know yet. snack will be hot tea.
hubby is taking nap and i am going to join him as i was up early and by 9 am had done so much.
2 of the kids are playing playstation and older one is waiting to use computer.
got my new phone number today as phone is being turned on the 1st. so got utilities in order.
registering kids for school tommorow and spending most of the day at new place.
showing them there schools. will be spending alot of time at new house over weekend doing a ton of stuff too.
well going for now. take care and enjoy the day!
Hey there Minnie!
Sounds like you are busier than ever! Way to keep up the exercise with all the other things going on, I know that has to be tough.
How far away is your new place from your old one?
Get lots of sleep! :o
mdonna612 07-22-03, 08:33 PM Go girl, Minnie
get a nap
enjoy your rest
had a lazy day myself and went to the gym and biked 8.5 miles
had chinese for lunch
and salad for supper
drinking some coffee now.
Catch you tomorrow
Donna
Minnie mouse 07-23-03, 07:16 AM Good Morning,
answer to the question the new place is approx 1/2 hr from this one.
well looks like rain again today so hubby went to work but will probably be home early so i told him to meet me at new house if he gets out early.
only staightening up here this morning and will eat and ride the bike and do some AB crunches.
came home from work last night and got my shower so i didnt have to take it this morning.
got more boxes from work. am so sick of looking at boxes. hubbys car is slat full of more stuff to take down and i got to load the van this morning with more.
house is looking more empty now.
so thats a good sign.
dont know what menu is today as i have to make it yet.
doing good so far with food this week and water too so hope to have a loss on friday.
I am on the go constantly so i am coutning it as exercise too.
i am tired though but no time to nap for me for awhile.
between packing, unpacking and traveling back and forth to new house, calling all utilities, cleaning, cooking and working i am quite tired out but gotta keep going.
hubby has been a big help. he is also tired too.
at night we basically collapse in bed and sleep very sound from the days full jam packed activities.
i see on news lots of places are out of power and had tornados and thunder storms. we had the storms but thankfully have power.
gotta call and get sons physical scheduled. want to do it before we move. its his yearly exam.
gotta swing by library to leave off books too this morning.
well i better get going, gotta get kids up and get the day started.
take care.
Hi there Minnie!
I know you're very busy so I'll make this short.
Thanks for stopping by this morning! I LOVE it when I get company.
Don't work too hard today. I know that moving is a very stressful project, but at the same time I know you're excited to be getting into your new home.
I bet you'll have a good weigh-in on Friday with all the work you've been doing.
Have a great day!
mcmarto 07-23-03, 05:19 PM Wow...you are busy as usual...I bet you can't wait until all this packing...moving...and unpacking is done!
Eeeek...keep up the good work!
mcmarto
sandielynne 07-23-03, 05:46 PM Hi Minnie,
I've been in them shoes before, too often for my liking. That's why we finally bought this farm. The idea of moving again was just too much to think of.
When you get to the new house, and are settled in some, you will have to take a picture and share with all of us.
Are you any closer to me now, or further away? We still haven't had our rondevue at the Mall as planned. Got to do that someday or we will be too old if we keep waiting.
Anyway, you take care my friend. Thank you so much for your continued support and friendship. It is greatly appreciated.
:hug::hug:
bird songs 07-23-03, 08:38 PM Wow, Minnie, I just read your last post and I didnt breathe the whole time.
Wish I could count reading that as exercise LOL
It will be over soon sweetie, then you will have such a nice place to live, with family around!!
Minnie mouse 07-23-03, 10:44 PM Hello,
Thanks for all my visitors. I love you all!
well today was super busy. got kids registered for school. toured the high school for my 8th grader/ it is so big and shes nervous as it looks intimidating. hope they all make good friends cuz it will make it easier on them. then went to tour my 5th graders school. its an older school and very big too. 3 1/2 floors. she is nervous too. very nice schools, my sons school which is across from the HS is nice from what we saw outside but cant tour it for a week or 2 cuz no one there yet to let you tour it.
they can get breakfast and lunch in school. so they like that idea. my daughter has to have a book read from a list by end of summer. got there bus schedules too.
kids will leave earlier than they do now but be home earlier too.
so gotta find new job.
my older girl will walk. its about a 5-10 min walk so will teach her the way.
then went to house with more stuff i packed and soon hubby came.he had a carload too.
we unpacked and pit away dishes, glasses and most kitchen stuff, we put away bathroom things and medicines, cleaning stuff, he got my sons bed put together.
we cleaned some and put storage in cellar.
tommorow night going down there after our haircuts and hes hanging pictures for me and has more stuff. then spending alot of the weekend there. his brother is helping on sat with dressers and such.
CEO called and cant help. I wonder why there called people helping people. who do they help only the homeless.
anyways borrowing security money from mom and siter n- law and will pay it back. its just too much to have at once with 1st month rent. then we will be fine but everything all at once like utilities and all is too much without help. luckily we got alot of people who love and care for us.
i am grateful fo that too.
food has been low in points. skipped lunch cuz was down new house and busy and no time to eat it but heres menu:
breakfast:
Hot tea, 2 slices grain toast w/ 1 tsp grape jam
Lunch: none
Dinner: 2 skinless, boneless chicken breasts w/ hot sauce, baked pot w/ spray butter, a cup of mixed broccoli and cauliflower, 1 slice bread,1 cup peas
snack: 2 cups hot tea
total: 19 points(range 22-29) not too much off but need to get at least min points in.
exercise: 50 ABcrunches and 10 side to side crunches, packing and unpacking
water: Lots of it
well gotta go.
take care.
Minnie:
Moving is both fun and exhausting at the same time. So much to do in so little time it always seems. It's great that you have such a great family to help you out when needed.
We avoided a strike which makes me extremely happy as now I don't have to worry about whether or not I am going to work or to a picket line in the mornings. Hope you have a fabulous day.
Judy2:ex:
mickeyvoll 07-24-03, 10:00 AM Hi Minnie
So you are nearly living there full time now. You sound very happy and excited, which is great to hear!
I hope everything goes well for you - at least it sounds that way at the moment.
Am I right in thinking you hop on the scales tomorrow???
mdonna612 07-24-03, 10:11 AM Minnie
Wish I could lend a hand. Will have to send me your new address.
Wish we could see pics of your place. You must be proud. Helping Phil learn to cook eggs.
Gotta scoot, before my new chef burns down the house.
Donna
maximum 07-24-03, 11:02 AM I too wish we could see pics. I keep thinking about Apple things whenever I am out and about.
Thats nice that you have been able to move over a little at a time. When we moved here it was 4 big truck loads all dumped off at once. It was a maze of boxes.
Have you slept there yet?
How is the hunting for the new Dog home going for you.
Hey what kind of tea are you drinking? Is it Hot or cold and what kind?
That brings back memories for me. Everytime I use to get hungry I would drink a cup of tea. Hmmm Good idea
Hey Sandy,
Wow, in the midst of moving and packing and unpacking and she is still exercising, and keeping track of food. You are amazing!!!
So glad you are able to get things into the house a bit at a time. That is nice.
It is nice to get into a new place, so much potential, excitement, possibilities. Kind of like a 'new start' for everything.
Have a good time, but remember to take care of yourself midst everything.
mcmarto 07-24-03, 04:48 PM How do you do it?
Oh yeah...I forgot...your are Super Minnie!
Keep up the good work on WW...
A new job...ahhhhhhhhh...hahaha...mcmarto
Minnie mouse 07-24-03, 10:29 PM Hello everyone,
well today was a good day but busy as usual.
got up and rode 5 miles on the bike.
then kids all took showers and so did I. then i began normal routine of washing clothes, making beds, feeding fish, and washing dishes. vaccumed whole house then I had breakfast and made out my daily menu.
Packed alot today and also got my closet almost all cleared out.
my friend came and cut our hair tonight and then i took load of boxes down to new house in van.
i got alot done in the new kitchen and put away more stuff. swept both front and back porches and the mats.
then came home and am now relaxing.
I have become the energizer bunny, i keep going and going. LOL
Yes Mickey I do weigh tommorow. Peeked at scale this morning and its gone down from last week so am excited to weigh in tommorow. I have lost 6 weeks in a row now.
Menu for today was:
breakfast: cup of hot tea, 2 slices crushed oat toast w/ 1 tsp jam
Lunch: 2 cups rice pilaf and broccoli
dinner: egg whites scrambeled, 2 slices crushed oat toast w/ 1 tsp jam, and 2 hashbrowns
snack: 2 cups hot tea
total points: 23 pts (range 22-29)
my uncle called me today. him and my aunt live around the corner of my new house. and he asked if they could take my son w/ my sisters daughter on sunday to the movies to see spy kids3(3D) and then to swim in the pool so he will be out of our hair while were unpacking. so i siad yes of course and thanks so much and my son is so excited so i hope he behaves for them. i told my uncle he and my aunt are brave people to take him and my niece together cuz both of them at once is like double trouble.
so this weekend we will be spending tons of time moving. my hubbys brother and his friend are helping him on sat to move bigger things and i will be making trips with boxes and unpacking more.
my computer will be running until tuesday or wed then will be packed up and i will be back online around sunday(but that is for the week coming)
so for next week's weigh in wont be able to post it until i get the computer back on.
well going to read some journals then off to bed.
by the way Max you asked the kind of tea i drink. first of all its hot tea and i use a variety of flavors so i dont get sick of it.
I like Mint the best, and i have flavored herbal ones, Peach and raspberry are good, i like green tea and regular. the red rose is good too.
as you can see i love tea. i hate cappicino, coffee.
i will only drink hot tea or hot cocoa.
water has been good too, been slugging it down.
well have a great day tommorow.
take care and talk soon.
wish me luck on weigh in, i cant wait to change these stats. my goal for this week had been to hit 195 and as of this morning i am under it so will see tommorow.
Minnie mouse 07-25-03, 12:30 PM Good Morning,
Well today was weigh day and did very well. I lost 3.5 this week and made it under goal of what i wanted this week so am glad.
I rode 5 miles on bike, did 50 AB crunches, and 10 side to side crunches(those side ones are hard)
had a hot tea, 2 slices crushed oat toast w/ 1 tsp jam for breakfast.
drinking tons of water too.
got van loaded up with more boxes. washed dishes, folded lots of clothes i need to pack and i washed and hung 3 loads and got another load in washer now. cleaned out rest of my dresser. my closet is almost bare now. got coffee pot prepared for morning, cleaned out some of fridge but got more to do, made beds, fed fish, hauled trash out to burn pile and am still going. will be at this all weekend.
step girl called last night and isnt coming this weekend. i felt for some reason she wouldnt cuz when my 11 yr old talked to her on phone during we she said she hardly talked so she called last night and told her dad she is dog sitting her friends dog while there on vacation to make money for school clothes. but i think shes making an excuse like she usually does. anyways we will be busy anyways so doesnt matter but i feel for hubby cuz he doesnt get to see her much but im staying out of it.
mom called today. she is coming to new house on sunday to help me do curtains. so that is a big help.
this week rode total of 23 miles on bike and did 100 AB crunches and 20 side crunches. so not to bad considering all i have been doing with packing and all.
didnt do any walk tapes but hope to resume doing them soon.
gotta grocery shop this weekend to just dont know when i will make it to store but out of milk and son is having a fit cuz hes a big cereal eater so i must get milk above all else.
well i guess my break is over and i need to keep going and do more packing. i cant wait for this move to be over with.
cant say im bored as i dont have enough hours in day to get everything done.
well i gotta run.
Have a great day.
My weight loss goal for this week coming is to lose 3 pounds so lets see how i do.
take care.
Sandy,
You are doing so terrific. I am totally impressed with you!!!!!!!!!
I am now inspired to ride my bike somedays. Have been meaning to do it with the kids but that is not happening. I was going to walk each morening this summer but that is not happening either. I think that if I walk some mornings and ride my bike some mornings that will be good. Maybe I am bored with walking.
Well, keep up the good work. Glad you are taking breaks though.
WE will miss you next week. Get that computer up quickly, hehe.
Congrats on your weight loss this week Minnie!
I just moved a little under 2 months ago and I didn't exercise for a week and a half because I was so busy with everything else. But believe me I got my exercise in because I went from a two story house into a 2 story house and I was up and down stairs CONSTANTLY and I still lost weight during that time. Good luck with the move! And don't do like me and forget to call the phone company and have to wait a week to get service. Have a good one. Tina

Minnie mouse 07-25-03, 10:24 PM Hello,
well busy as usual today. ate good today too, but didnt tally pts.
i posted breakfast on my morning post and for lunch had brussel sprouts, 1 sugar free fudgie and 1 tootsie pop. not the most balanced lunch but only like 2 pts worth.
dinner was 2 burgers(homeade) andsnack was hot tea.
went to new house with more boxes and who pulls in behind us is my sister. she was on her way to my old house but saw us heading down to new one so followed us down. anyways she stayed for awhile then we went to her house for hubby to hook up her VCR. now were home and hubbys in bed cuz he has to get up at 5 am. his brother and friend are helping him to move some big stuff and me and the kids will be making a few trips with boxes and such and i also got to stop at library for my girl to get a book she needs read for the start of school, got to stop at pharmacy and post office too. at night might go walking with sis. she said she will be walking 2 nights a week. for us it will be more but will get to walk with her for 2 of the nights. me and my girls plan on walking alot cuz we love it and its good exercise.
Now we have sidewalks plus the track up the high school is close by and my sis said they just built a dike with a track. so no excuses not too.
hubby got kids Jax and chips tonight to snack on and he had some too. he kept offering me some but i didnt have any,. i had my mint hot tea.
well alot to do and am very tired so gotta go.
take care and talk to you all soon.
mcmarto 07-25-03, 10:26 PM Congrats on the weight loss!

sandielynne 07-25-03, 10:33 PM :cheer:CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR 3.5 LB LOSS:cheer:
Wow Minnie,
You are doing so well, I am ashamed of myself. I guess I better really start working harder. Boy would I like to see my scale say 199 some day, but I have a long way to go before I get there. Needless to say, I have not been as focused as you have.
Take care, and enjoy that new home you are making.
:hug::hug:
bird songs 07-26-03, 05:49 AM Minnie, I cant say I am amazed at the weight loss, you surely have earned it lol Congrats sweetie!
I read your posting about the move, I can feel your excitement and weariness too..LOL
You are getting me in the mood to move again and if I ever breathe those words to my hubby he might kill me. I have never been one to stay in a place for too long 2-3 years TOPS and that was agony for me lol... He hates to move, loves his ruts.. We have been here for 12 years now, which is an all time record for me. But after the 2 or 3rd year of being here, I was so darn itchy.
I would look in the paper for houses for sale and he would give me the most daring look.. LOL
After all the hard work he did to our back yard (which looks like a small paradise), he would shoot me with the crossbow if I mentioned the word 'move' LOL
It took him 12 years to plant things so full that you cant see our house.. I told him I wish I could transform into a plant, he would baby me LOL
So happy for your weight loss girl!
Minnie:

Judy2:ex:
CONGRATULATIONS MINNIE!! Wish it were me with that big loss!
I need to cut down more on the portions of my food.
You sure are working hard getting moved. No wonder you're losing weight! I can tell you like it though too.
Have a wonderful weekend!
way to go ! This is just wonderful news! :cheer:
and on top of this great news - your doing wonderful with getting everything done and staying on top of it all - goes maybe I need to start drinking tea like you do ;)
I am VERY proud of you!!!!!!

chumlette 07-27-03, 12:10 AM Minnlette! I am so thrilled that your weight keeps falling! Damn, girl, how in the world are you finding time to exercise with everything you've been doing??? I am HUGELY impressed.
I am so excited that you will be in the new place so soon! When everything is unpacked, you will sit on the couch and take a long nap, I'll bet! hahaha
Curious...why is plain tea 1 point? I thought tea had no calories?
I've missed you babe. Give that uncle of yours a BIG FAT KISS for getting kids out from underfoot. Seems like the first night you sleep in the new place, everything will be put away and PERFECT.
Wahoo!!!!
Minnie mouse 07-27-03, 10:41 PM Hello,
Been missing all of you all weekend and so glad to come on here and see all the wonderful posts.
Chum, the tea is 1 pt cuz i add a little sugar.
well this weekend has flown by. yesterday from crack of dawn hubby, his brother and his friend moved tons. they moved my big dresser, kids dressers, big freezer and tons of boxes. i cant even list it all but most of our house is gone. there still is the tv's,computer(which will be unhooked soon):c(
but hooked back up soon after, theres still our bed, hubbys dresser, washer, fish tank, some clothes and odds and ends but alot is gone.
this is so much darn work.
new house is looking super. got most pictures hung, got so many new things too.
we got kitchen and sitting room curtains done today. mom came over and took over with it and im glad. she gave me beautiful curtains for both rooms. she ironed them and all. i was totally grateful to her.
she is getting me apple throw rugs for my kitchen theme and the matching kitchen towels and stuff, plus she gave me this cute set of the fry pan,tea kettle and tea pot(there for the wall) they hang up and they look like rustic brass but arent. very nice and yrs ago she had a set called "Merry Mushroom" she collected all the canisters and the matching clock. I always loved it when i was a kid and shes giving me it. i was so thrilled. its 30 yrs old and like new.
Last night me and sis went for 2 mile walk with the kids. theres a new dike that was built and you have view of river and the ducks and all. they made it where its paved and lots of people there walking, jogging, biking and roller skating on it. it tells you how many miles your at too.
we took the kids too. then my heel spurs hurt. gotta get to the podiatrist to get that cortisone shot. but we walked at a rapid pace. theres even benches to sit at and rest and big signs at each rest stop telling historical facts about the town. it was nice.
eating yesterday was good. i had 2 sandwiches, and a cup of soup. was under points and 1 pound less on scale today.
today eating wasnt too good but didnt have time to do a menu and was away from home all day.
had 1 sandwich, and 1 hershey bar :(
then parents ordered pizza and had aunt and uncle over too. had 3 slices and diet soda. didnt do drastic but not the best.
my son loved the movie then kids went swimming at aunts so that was good.
dad came over too. love living near my family.
i went on sat to post office to have mailing address changed.
so tommorow got more to do too,.
i have thursday nite off and then doing the rest friday and kids going to there dads thursday or friday cuz there going to a carnival and when they come home we will be there for good.
well dont think i left anything out and gotta get going. been functioning on very little sleep and im tired.
talk to you soon.
take care.
mdonna612 07-28-03, 01:29 AM So much going on but am proud of your weight loss. Geeze, you are such a great mom and am so glad you are taking care of yourself and it's showing.

I can't believe how much you have going on this week & it is only Monday! I am super proud of you for keeping up with the journal this week. I know it is going to be hard at times but you know that you need this.
Just wanted to say hi and good luck with the rest of the moving stuff!
Tasha
mdonna612 07-29-03, 01:23 AM New home and a whole new you,
The attitude and the energy
Spreading love and warmth wherever you go.
Would love to see what you've done to the new place.
But it evident in your journal that you reap what you sow.
Once you're settled in, contentment.
Donna
Hi Minnie!
So, you're pretty well settled in that new home, huh? Man, you sure have been working up a storm!
I can only stop for a minute. I'm back to work now and don't have much time to post to everyone. I read them though!
Have a wonderful day!
chumlette 07-29-03, 02:25 PM You're almost done with the move!!! You are almost ready to abandon the headaches of the old place!!! I am really excited for you. AND impressed as all git out that you are eating well most of the time during all this chaos.
Then again, your life always seems like chaos to me with all those munchkins running around. hahaha
Everything sounds just wonderful, Minnie. You can stay focused. Look how far you've come!!!
Next time you order pizza, order 1/2 as veggie pizza, then you won't have to worry too much about it!
I'm really proud of you dollface!
mdonna612 07-29-03, 05:21 PM Figure you're down computerwise with the move. Have to notify server of new phone number, wonder how hard that is.
Got to go and get Phil from the swimming pool.
Tomorrow he goes to school.
Donna
Minnie mouse 07-29-03, 09:42 PM Hello,
well another busy day at Minnie's.
eating well but a little low on water today.
no exercise other than all the packing and running around like a chicken with my head cut off.
caught all up on laundry and got more packed which hubby took down when i went to work.
going down with the kids tommorow to unpack more and on thursday again and thursday nite. i swear it seems endless.
the house here looks so empty but yet still finding more and more.
well i am so sorry i cant post to each of you in your journals but i do appreciate you all visiting mine and i will catch up to you all as soon as i can but this is my busiest week of all.
not alot going on here except the whole moving thing.
it isnt hard to change the number for internet provider cuz you just go on here on the AOL and change it.
my friend is taking the dog on thursday nite till she finds him a home so i am relieved with that. have a free ad running in paper for him. taking over his dog house and toys and will buy big bag of dog food for him. i am off on thursday nite to and will be crying when we have to leave him behind.
well i gotta get going. talk to you soon.
take care.
mdonna612 07-29-03, 10:13 PM Minnie
Won't be long before you're all settled and complaining about what the place is lacking. It will be old news.
But for now it's busy, exciting, fresh, and new. Enjoy the honeymoon.
Donna
chumlette 07-30-03, 06:10 AM Poor Minnie. I know you are sad to give up your dog. I hope he finds a good home -- that will make you feel better. And perhaps you might even be able to go visit him once to see how he is living.
Isn't it funny when you are moving and it seems that the more you pack, the more stuff you find in your house? It's insane how stuff accumulates in a family. DLIP is such a pack rat (I'm NOT); I wish I could curb him of it, but I never will. hahaha
{{{SANDY}}} How have you been? I'm sorry for not writing in for a while. Last night I was trying to get on the internet but I couldn't log on to the internet. After trying for over an hour, I finally gave up. I'm using the other computer this morning to get caught up with the posts here.
Sandy really their's no reason to appoligize for not visting our journals. I think just about everyone here understands what you've been going through with the move and all. Just hang in kiddo and take care of yourself.
I'm sorry to hear about your dog having to leave, how sad. Hopefully your friend will find him a good home.
I gotta go take care! Katherine
maximum 07-30-03, 10:55 AM MIN-NERS....... :tomato: YOU PASSED ME RIGHT FLIPPING BY ON YOUR WEIGHT..... X-( OH THATS IT.......!
Me sorry about your Pup.... But like Chum said maybe you can go visit him..
Soon you'll be able to settle, and relax.......
Minnie mouse 07-30-03, 02:29 PM Hello,
I had to laugh about chum saying her man is a pack rat and shes not. just like she had said to me her man is outgoing and she is more quiet. well opposite of me and my hubby. I am the pack rat and he is not and he tries to break me of it too. i have improved but still wont part with many things even if i dont use them. In the mind of a pack rat the little voice says may need it one day therefore it is saved. and i am the outgoing one and my hubby is the quiet one.
anyways just got back from new house and resting before i got to do more and make dinner.
got alot of the boxes down new place unpacked and put away and brought home the empty boxes to burn.
got to go sign HUD lease tommorow morning at 10AM and gotta call ex to see if kids are going up tommorow night or on Friday.
The girls were fighting so bad over space in there new large walk in closet. i was ready for the looney bin by the time we left.
my son is now playing outside with neighbors grandson so that should keep him occupied. He was very good today for me and even vaccumed my new living room.
Have a bone to pick with hubby when he gets home cuz my son told me last night when they went to new house my son vaccumed and my hubby asked him " if he was a woman?"
wait till i see him. i am teaching my son equal rights with chores too and to one day help his wife/girlfriend with all of it.
well not alot left to sat except eating is good today. Last night was so hungry from eating dinner at 4 that i had a sandwich and a banana before bed. wasnt happy with myself over it.
but i am human.... or so i think LOL....
Gotta clean our fish tank before we move that down there.
so much to do and only 2 more days to do it.
I am feeling the stress and i am so tired and worn out.
didnt exercise today but am going to try to ride my bike and do some crunches. but not sure. if not as soon as im moved in down there will resume exercise.
well must go for now.
take care.
menu:
breakfast: 2 slices toast w/ 1 tsp jam 4pt
lunch: sm box of raisins 2 pt.
dinner not sure but think were having FF hot dogs as there fast and the ff taste good and are only 1 pt each of the oscar mayer.
well talk soon.
mdonna612 07-30-03, 06:17 PM Minnie
Don't care for hot dogs so can't comment. I have chili made and pasta bake and so much fruit, dinner will be whichever I have a taste for.
Phil loves his teacher at the aviation thing but am so angry with the school. In May's orientation they said Prosser kids did NOT have a dress code, and today they were told to adhere to Shawnee High's dress code of only white, navy, gold, burgundy shirts and only tan or navy pants/shorts. No blue or reds or orange, no hunter green shirts and shorts, and I am angry. I have new clothes he can't wear to school and expressed my frustration to the assistant vice principal. He told me solid color with a small amt of color like piping or stripe is okay. So went to store and bought on clearance navy and couple white shirts with single stripe across the chest.
He wore dress shorts like dockers, they were BLACK, not approved and white shirt with red trim. They will just have to send him to the office since the vice principal told me small amt of color was okay. He has to go to a non dress code high school locally and is going to look like he's in church clothes even with the simple strip. I have lots of greens for him, he look good in green with his olive skin. Can't wear any of them, or the dress gray shorts and no jeans.
I have still yet to buy some pants for the bud for this winter since his jeans are out.
But he loves the class/teacher and is happy. We celebrated at Chinese and then he went swimming while I went to store for DRESS Code shirts. What a pain, just lucky clearance sales going on. Got one solid white one for him in case he goes on a field trip and has to be up to strict code.
That's me a rebel, but the bite is that 2 months ago they said no dress code so long as neat. No notice of change was given. I refuse to worry about it for they get my tax money for my son going to KY high school. Next year is another thing. For will have lots of notice.
Well, sounds like your hubby let his true beliefs slip-----many men give lip service to housework being shared.
Gotta scoot,
Donna
Minnie;
Your just a movin and a grovin girl. Your doing so much with the packing and unpacking of boxes that if you miss a day or two of exercising it's not going to be a big deal as moving in itself is EXERCISE:)
Hope your move goes smoothly. You have so much done already it's amazing.
Have a great day.
Judy2:ex:
Minnie mouse 07-30-03, 11:30 PM Hello,
well i wanted to post as im not sure when computer will be down. tommorow or friday morning and wont be running till sunday or monday at the earliest. will try to push hubby to do it as soon as possible.
Hubby took son and made trip to new house to bring down his tools and lawn stuff.
we all got our showers in tonight cuz in the morning have to go sign lease for HUD. tommorow and the weekend will be a hectic blur as lots left to do yet and tying up loose ends here.
this summer has flown by.
me and hubbys 4th wedding anniversary is on the 6th so dont know what we will do since its a weeknight and i got work.
usually celebrate on a weekend without the kids but this weekend will be low on funds and plus we are busy with the move so maybe the next free weekend alone.
took down vertical blinds in kitchen tonight and cleaned them up. hubby helped me so dont know why he said what he did about the housework cuz he does help me. he doesnt do tons but does help especially if i need it or i ask him too.
He was raised where his mom did it all and so did my mom in our house but times have changed with woman working so we need help now and then though we do most of the housework and child care plus working. not fair but in most cases true.
well i gotta go but wanted to check in here. so if you dont see me a few days you all know why.
take care,.
Donna, that is crazy that there is a dress code since they said there wasnt. i would be mad too. a lot of extra money needed to be spent now.
glad he likes the class.
Judy, glad to hear from you.
yes i am moving and grooving. i am missing exercise but getting plenty.
all my kids are in bed passed out. they are so tired from all of this plus getting up early to be running is very tiring. hubby is passed out too so im up all alone and i enjoy the peace and quiet.
I am a night owl and though tired i get insomnia. i have alot on my mind and cant sleep and also i never sleep ,more than 6 hrs ever unless i am very worn out.
i get a second wind after work and am wide awake. oh well gotta run.... will be starting new journal when i move in new house. this one is full and new start for me in many ways so i think its time.
ok talk soon.
mdonna612 07-31-03, 12:31 AM Minnie
better send a link to your journal----what road will you be following now, once off the yellow brick
Minnie's Road to Success has a nice ring.
So proud of you, girl.
Donna
bird songs 07-31-03, 12:24 PM Minnie, I read your journal from days ago till now. I feel so wore out lol
Girl you have more determination in you that you could ever know!
You are right about the men/boys helping with the home if the woman goes out to work. That is not being a bra burning He-woman.. lol
The whole goal is to keep the home running smoothy.. no matter who does what. My hubby had that Archie Bunker mentality too. When I was working full time (longer hours then him even), I came home to tend to everything. So, I quietly and politely stopped everything and did as he did. I came home, sat down and I thought my day was done too LOL He got the message.
I saw you posted in my journal about the jelly.. I love homemade jelly. Its not reconstituted.
sandielynne 08-01-03, 01:17 AM Hi Minnie,
I'm so glad that you will be done and in the new house soon. Then you will finally get things settled down and be able to take a break now and again.
I will be watching out for your new Journal. I don't want to lose our Minnie. I need a bit of :supper:Mouse in my life too. You always have nice things to say, and it's fun traveling down this weight loss road with you. Even though you do have a bit of a head start........LOL
Take care Minnie. I'll be watching for you.
Minnie:
HAPPY MOVING MINNIE
Will catch up with you at your new home and new journal:)
