View Full Version : This Magic Moment
fleureange 03-12-03, 12:10 AM HELLO AGAIN EVERYONE.
YES, I STARTED A NEW JOURNAL. I'VE DECIDED IT WAS TIME. IT JUST FLET RIGHT.
THE TITLE, THIS MAGIC MOMENT IS SPECIAL TO ME.
FIRST OF ALL, WHEN MY FIRST CHILD WAS BORN, THE DOCTOR PUT ON HIS RADIO AND THAT WAS THE SONG THAT WAS PLAYING AS SHE CAME INTO THIS WORLD.
I ALSO LIKED THIS TITLE TO REMIND ME THAT A MOMENT IS ALL I HAVE. I MUST LEARN THAT EVERYONE OF THEM ARE PRECIOUS.
I CAN CHOOSE TO SPEND THIS MOMENT IN ANY WAY I CHOOSE.
THE MAGIC COMES FROM MAKING THE BEST OF THE MOMENT.
WHEN I EAT THE RIGHT FOODS, WHEN I EXERCISE, WHEN I REFRAIN FROM BINGING. ALL OF THESE ARE MAGIC MOMENTS IN MY WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY.
THIS IS A MAGIC MOMENT FOR ME. IT IS A MOMENT THAT I AM FREE FROM THE BONDAGE OF FOOD. I HAVE ONLY THIS MOMENT. WHO KNOWS WHAT THE FUTUR HOLDS, BUT FOR ME, THIS MOMENT IS ONE I HOPE THAT WILL LAST FOREVER.
I HAVE FOUND A WEIGHT LOSS BOOK THAT I HAVE BEEN READING.- WEIGHT LOSS FOR DUMMIES.:D
IN IT, IT ASKED SOME INTERESTING QUESTIONS. I'D LIKE TO SHARE THEM WITH YOU AS WELL AS MY OWN ANSWERS.
1- HOW MANY TIMES A DAY DO YOU THINK ABOUT YOUR WEIGHT?
I must admit, I am always thinking about it. Every morning when I get up, I fight myself not to get on the scale. Sometimes I win, sometimes not. Then I think about it when I dress. I need to hide as much as I can.
Then at every meal and again when I come here to DT.
Most of my mind is on weight loss.
2-HOW OFTEN DO YOU STEP ON THE SCALE EVERY WEEK?
Well as I said, I have to fight myself not to get on. I weigh in every Monday, but I usually lose my battle to stay off at least once or twice. So to answer the question, I get up on the scale about 3 times a week.
3- HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU SPEND THINKING ABOUT WHICH FOODS ARE "OKAY"
I have set up my diet so I don't have to think about it. I enjoy the foods I eat, and am ok with having them day after day. I feel so much more comfortable this way. I do think about what foods are okay when I go out to eat or when having company for a meal.
4-HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU SPEND FIGURING OUT HOW TO DRESS IN WAYS THAT HIDE YOUR WEIGHT?
I usually spend about 10-15 minutes deciding on what will make me look slim. I only do this if I'm going out or if we have company coming.
5-HOW OFTEN DO YOU FEEL GUILTY FOR EATING A PARTICULAR FOOD?
Let's put it this way, I know what foods I can and can't have. If I have a food that I can't have, I will feel guilty for days. This usally causes me to eat more of the bad foods to make me feel better. HA, I never feel better only worse. Then I eat more because of that!
6-HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU WONDERED WHAT OTHERS THOUGHT ABOUT YOU SIZE?
I always wonder. When I go out... when I have people over....when my kids have friends over... always
7-HOW MANY HOURS IN YOU LIFETIME HAVE YOU STOOK LOOKING IN THE MIRROR EDAMINING YOU HIPS AND THIGHS?
For me, never! I shouldn't say that. I do. The only time I do is when I'm losing weight. When I'm in the throws of a binge, I couldn't care less.
8-DO YOU THINK SOMEONE WHO HAS MATURALLY THIN HABITS SPEND HIS OR HER TIME DOING THES THINGS?
I doubt it. If they don't have an eating or weight problem, why would they think about it? Then again, there are some who do, but for the most part, no, I don't think they do.
9-WHAT WOULD YOU RATHER BE DOING WITH YOU TIME AND ENERGY?
That's an easy one. LIVING!!!! Enjoying life and being carefree.
WELL THAT'S ALL THEY HAD. I THOUGHT IT WAS INTERESTING.
I HOPE YOU ENJOY MY NEW JOURNAL. I WANT TO TRY TO KEEP IT POSITIVE AND UP BEAT.
SO, LETS MAKE THIS AND EVERY MOMENT, A MAGIC MOMENT
DARLENE :hippy:
mdonna612 03-12-03, 12:14 AM I hope the new journal brings with you a new sense of committment and focus.

fleureange 03-12-03, 03:41 PM March 12 2003
Thanks Jade and Donna for your kind words.
Today is another magic moment.
Today is my youngest daughter's birthday. As she has told everyone who will listen, she is now 5 years old.
Five years ago today, I gave birth to her on my living room floor. My mother played doctor and that is how she got her nick name Doc.
This is a magic moment because I have followed my food plan and have not strayed.
It's magic because I choose it to be magic.
I haven't had time to read any more of the book Weight Loss for Dummies, yet. Looking forward to having some free time tonight.
Well, I should be off to get things ready for more visitors. They should be here soon.
Have a great day, and make every moment count.

WOWZERS! Look at all my vistitors
MAXIMUM- thanks for stopping by. Please visit again. I love having folks stop in, helps me stay on track.
****************************************************
HEY MC- Yes, LOL I started a new journal. Just felt it was time.
I passed along your b-day wishes to Bry-Anne, and she asked me "did you tell her I was 5?" Thats all she said all day. I'm 5. hehehe
****************************************************
Hi Minnie- I thought the questions were thought provoking. Can't wait to get further into the book. I hope I learn more secrets to help me along on this journey. If I do, I'll be sure to post them.
KILO- :o thanks about the picture. It was one I took sitting here at my puter. I had just discovered that my video cam could take stills. LOL so I posted it. I think it's a lame one, but I have no others. I've always been camera shy, gee, I wonder why??? Could it be I was afraid to take up the whole frame with my fat butt????
****************************************************
PENG- The book is good so far. If you can find it at your library, go for it. It seems like I might just learn something. Me! Gee, I thought I knew it all! LOL
As to my little one being born at home, here's the story
My hubby was on midnights and my mom lived a few blocks away at the time. I had labour pains at about 2 AM and called her up to come over and stay with the kids. Called Dan home from work and off to the hospital we went.
We got sent home!
Then the next night, my mom was going to spend the night. She fell asleep and forgot to come over. She called at 1 AM to see how things were and to see if I wanted her to come over. I told her not to bother the pains were 20 mins apart.
Soon after, they went down to 5, then 3. I tried walking, sitting, laying down, nothing changed the time. I called the hospital to see if this was normal and they said not really, just to keep watching them.
I decided at 2:40AM to call my mom back and have her come over. While I waited, I stared pushing. At that point, I got MAD! I couldn't believe this was happening to me.
You have to understand, I had Reilly with no drugs, felt it all, and the nurses delivered him because the Dr wasnt there yet. I thought I knew what I was in for, but when they sent me home the night before, it played with my head. I doubted myself.
Anyway, I still couldn't believe it was happening. I thought I would check to see if indeed she was coming. (sounds gross I know, but I needed to know it wasn't in my head.) I felt her head.
So, I finally decided to call 911. My mom came in at 2:50. She was a wreck! She talked to 911 as I was having contractions.
She tried to call Dan at work, but was rambling to the security guard. I had to take the phone between contractions and talk to him. Dan called back soon after. He was going to meet us at the hospital.
Bry-Anne was born around 3AM. My mom caught her LOL. My water broke as her sholders came out.
Ambulence finally got there 10 mins later.
Dan called from the hospital, wondering where we were. He was 10 mins away for the hospital, I was 30 and I was still waiting for the ambulence the first time my mom talked to him.
Anyway, My DR ended up giving my crap for waiting too long!!! I think he was mad cause he wouldn't get paid for the delivery and he had to get up at 4AM to stich me. TOUGH LUCK BUDDY!!! Shouldn't have played with my mind and sent me home.
Bry-Anne ended up with hypothermia and had to stay in neonatal till St Patties day. She was fine though. I looked around at those other babies, and thanked my lucky stars everything turned out ok.
OK Claire, just remember, you asked LOL
****************************************************
NANCY- Thanks for stopping in. Now I guess that was sharing eh? LOL. I'm afraid I just might bore you to tears.
****************************************************
Ok, so now want to hear about today??? LOL
I'll start with my food. It was good. Same as always.
Now for the good stuff...
I had to work today. We had freezing rain last night and snow this morning. Cause of that I didn't work my morning job and thought I could make it to my afternoon job as the roads would be clearer.
I left after lunch and the roads were still bad. I took my time. I was nearly there, doing 60KM in and 80KM. Some guy decides to pass me while on a clear stretch. I slowed down so he could pass and get back in before we hit more snow. He as going to fast and hit the snow in such a way that the snow went flying about 20' in the air, he stared doing 180s back and forth till finally he did a 360 and landed in the ditch. Right before my eyes!!!! This is the first time I saw anything like this so forgive my amazment. I stopped and offered the guy a ride or offered to call him a tow truck. He said no, he was to embarrased, he just wanted to sit there and think about it. Poor guy! I felt so bad, and so lucky it wasn't me. He should never have been passing. Oh well, live and learn!
Well, that was my excitement for the day. Cant wait to see what tomorrow brings LOL
have a great night.

Hiya!
Just thought I'd post a morning hello to get myself and you off to a good start.
Lets make each moment, a magic moment and lets make them count.
Darlene :hippy:
chumlette 03-14-03, 10:00 AM Hello darling. Excellent new journal title. I'm a big fan of "magic moments," myself. I loved reading your story about your daughter being born on the living room floor. It was fantastic.
And yes, you are quite a stunner!
maximum 03-14-03, 10:28 AM  HOLY SHMOLY ......
What a story, That was great.. Thanks for sharing.
mcmarto 03-14-03, 05:29 PM Oh I loved the baby story...so glad everything turned out ok!
You are too kind to offer that guy a ride.......hahaha!
We are having temps in the mid 50's here this weekend...maybe in the 60's tomorrow!
Yeah!
mcmarto
fleureange 03-14-03, 05:53 PM Hello again, hope you all have had a wonderful day.
CHUM- Thanks, I sat here trying to think of a title and just like somehow I knew it was time to start a new journal, I also knew this was the right title.
LOL Chum, that was a God awful picture, come on now, admit it. One of these days I'll have to get a real picture taken.
****************************************************
MAXIMUM, that's pretty much how I felt. You summed it up quite nicely.
****************************************************
MC- My husband was upset that I stopped to even see if he was ok. He feels the guy deserved it for passing with those road conditons. I told him if punishment is what my hubby wanted, in a way the guy got it by my stopping. He could have saved much of his pride, but "MY" stopping really embarrased him.
Really, it was the least I could do. I hate to see anyone in trouble.
Hey, I was just watching the weather report and they said you had weather in the 50s there already. 53 I think they said. Here it's still 34. But we too are going to heat up. YEAH!!! Tomorrow in the low 50s and Sunday in the upper 50s. They said 60 was pushing it for up :( ....:D Oh well, I'll take what I can get. Finally i get to open my windows all day and enjoy the fresh air coming in.
****************************************************
Not much happened today. NO cars flying in ditches, no babies born in living rooms LOL Nope, just your average ordinary day.
Went to work, and got groceries. Big deal.
Food wasn't so good today. Not that the food wasn't good, but I forgot to eat breakfast and I forgot to make a lunch before work. I just ate my first meal (pita) at 5. I didn't even have my salad yet but I'm full.
I will have to walk on the mill yet. 90 mins left then I'm not going to walk my mill in a week.!!!! I will so. but will def take a day or two off.
Ok, I'm outta here. Gonna go read some journals.
Take care
Darlene :hippy:
monicapink 03-14-03, 06:37 PM Hi Darlene,
We missed you on Wednesday night at our 100 Plus Chat; I hope you are doing okay :D. Make it a great evening ..... and have and make it a fantastic weekend. As always, Monica
fleureange 03-14-03, 11:13 PM MONICA- Sorry I missed chat. I haven't been able to get to many chats lately because my hubby leaves for work at 10 just as the chats are ending. So between 9 and 10, I'm making him dinner, making his lunch and seeing him off. Use to be he would leave at 9:30 so I was able to at least catch the last half hour.
I will try my best to get there next week, if only for a few minutes.
Darlene :hippy:

fleureange 03-15-03, 04:40 PM March 15 2003. Beware the Ides of March. Shakespear, got to love him.
Hello Claire, Sounds like you're gonna have a great weekend. I can't say I share your fear of being seen in a bathing suit. For some unknown reason, I have no worries about that. I strut my (was going to say stuff ... but....) load. I just don't care what others think. Let them waste their time with ugly thoughts, I'm not. Funny how that is. I don't just have a fat body, but my legs look like road maps. Just don't care. I wear shorts everywhere in the summer. I'm wearing them now LOL.
Gee :o thanks for the compliments. OH GREAT, I'm trying to lose weight and you go giving me a big head, way to go LOL.
I'm nobody special Claire, just had to do what I had to do. I had no choise in the matter. Funny thing is, Reilly's birth was so perfect. It was different too because the nurses delivered him, but I enjoyed it so much and there is nothing I would have changed. So when I was pg for Bry-Anne, I was wondering how I could possibly to his birth. Guess I managed nicely. LOL
****************************************************
Well, brought Reilly to his hockey practice. That was fun 8-|
Been cleaning the house all day.
Still have to get a walk in - maybe. :D
Trying to get all the laundry done :ha:
Food has been good.
BREAKFAST
1/2 c granola cluster cereal
1 ff yogurt
LUNCH
1 ww pita
4 oz ground turkey
2 tbs ff sour cream
2 tbs couscous
Well, back to work now I guess.
have a great day
Darlene :hippy:
Bettyboop 03-15-03, 09:55 PM Hi there! What a coincidence cuz I'm doing laundry too.. heheeh:D But I gotta go now it's dinnertime and we're having ribs.. going over to my parent's house .. yummmmm hehe but I'll sorta be good.. I've planned for the dinner so I'll be reasonable. Anyway luck to you hope you get all of it done!!! It's hard.. but thankfully once you get it running there are long breaks inbewteen the sucky parts hehehehe laundry is a neverending affair....8-| well have a happy Saturday! Just checking in on ya!
Hey, Fleur!!
I just stumbled across your new journal & had to pop in and say hi! I'm still out here in Phoenix on vacation so haven't been on DT too much... My Mom told me she had a snow day on Thursday -- sounds like that was your car-flying-in-the-ditch day. Wow -- glad I missed that storm!
Have a great Sunday & enjoy the warmth!
Lisrey :spring:
what a special story :)
I am sure you would had rather been at the hospital, but none the less it is really special.
Good for you for stoping for that guy. My hubby feels the same way, when ever a "jerk" is driving too fast for the roads, he says "if they wreck we're not stoping". But we would as I would make him lol ;)
I have been meaning to ask you what type of work you do. I see your going to and from work posted here all the time, but somewhere I missed what you do.
Your doing wonderful!!!!!!!! :)
Jade
fleureange 03-16-03, 12:04 AM JADE- Same as you, clean houses. I only do it one day a week though. I have two clients that live close to each other so it's convienient. I get to put my kids on the bus and I'm home to take them off. Gives me a bit of spending money- NOT. I end up buying groceries or putting gas in my van.
One day I'll go full time, but for now, it's enough.
I may even have to give them up when we move depending on where we move to.
****************************************************
LISREY- Thanks for stopping in, and on vacation too!
You sure didn't miss much, only about 4". Well, that's what I got, but not sure what Detroit got. Sometimes they get less, and other times more. What a difference 45 mins makes in weather.
I hope you're having a ball out there in Phoenix. Figures you go away and we get near 60* weather. You'll come home and we'll be back to the 20s and 30s.
****************************************************
BETTY- Hope you had a great dinner and I also hope you were a good girl. Where you a good girl? LOL
My habit holds true,:( I started my laundry, but got on the puter to look at homes and forgot aaaaaall about it AGAIN. Looks like I know what I'm doing tomorrow.
****************************************************
Well, we're up early to go to hockey again tomorrow. Reilly's team plays the dreaded black team again. They had never one against this team all season, but they did win for the first time when their playoffs started. They play each team twice so tomorrow will be their second time. Reilly's team,(blue team) is undefeated so far. We're looking for another win against these bad boys LOL.
Three of his team mates (triplets) went away to the Dominican Republic for vacation, and one of them has come down with. what they think is Typhoid fever. Poor boy, I hope he gets well soon.
I guess I should be off to bed. Got so much to do tomorrow. The realitor may be coming by on Monday so we need to get things cleaned up and organized. I know I'm going to have to box up have our closet. It is so full you have to pry the clothes apart to hang them. Can't have that to show our house.
So, Ihope you all have a great Sunday.
Nighty night.
Darlene :hippy:
P.S. My food has been good all day. Ate the same as always.
fleureange 03-16-03, 04:13 PM March 16 2003
Hope you all are enjoying a great Sunday afternoon.
I must tell you, I like my food program, but I feel a bit greedy and impatient lately.
I know slow and steady is the best way to go. It is the way that got me to lose 104lbs in the past.
But, Dan has been on the Atkins diet for only a few weeks and he has lost about 15lbs, and he is shriking fast.
I'm not sure jelouse is the word I would use, but I do feel left behind. I feel if I did the Atkins too, I would lose faster.
On one hand, that's what I want, and in another, I don't. Slow is better for my skin to shirk down.
I also feel like some would say "see, told ya so" which really makes me what to stay away from it.
I will probably stay with my program, just wanted to get my feelings out.
****************************************************
I hope i've lost at least one pound this week.
Bye the way, for those who were interested in the book that I am reading, it is not Weight Loss For Dummies, it's The Complete Idiot's guide to Weight Loss., close enough I guess.
Here are some interesting facts you may not know about weight loss barriers.
SLEEP- getting the right amount of sleep your body requires helps you to burn fat. Durring sleep, your body release fat. Without sleep your body holds the fat to protect it's self from future loss of sleep.
STRESS- Stress cause adrenaline. Adrenaline is good for us, but wasn't meant to be tapped into everyday.
It is a hormone that is used when we need to protect ourselves. It gives us a short energy boost to get ourselves out of danger. Ifour adrenaline rush is sustained for a long period, our body will store fat to make sure our energy supply stays high for months.
So start relaxing and get rid of your stress. It's keeping us fat and will give us heart attacks.
CAFFEINE- caffeen can attually help to gain weight. It has no calories, no fat grams, but what it does is stimulates the pancreas to overproduce insulin. Insulin is one hormone that causes us to store fat.
SWEET TASTE- (now this is interesting) sipping sweet liquids, even artificially sweetened may make losing weight difficult. Even gum or mints, anything that tastes sweet. When you mouth tastes sweet, it tells your brain to get the body ready to receive food and nutrition. It begins to store food it is already digesting, turning that food into fat. It thinks it won;t need this food if more is on the way.
Be sure to eat and dink these sweet things with food.
Some things to think about. Common sense for the most part. I mean we know we shouldn't have caffeine, we know we need the right amount of sleep, and we now stress is bad for us. I didn't know about the sweet taste though.
****************************************************
Reilly lost his game today. They are still in the lead. 4 wins, 1 loss.
****************************************************
I best be off now, been here a while and hubby will be upset if he wakes and I'm STILL here LOL.
Have a great day.

fleureange 03-17-03, 05:09 PM March 17 2003. HAPPY ST. PATTIE'S DAY
PENG- how you doing?
You are so right, I know I will get this weight off. One pound at a time, slowly but surely.
****************************************************
MC- Alomost skipped breakie again today, but I finally got around to it. HHAHAHA.
I am truely enjoying reading this book has some intresting facts. Most things I already knew, but nice to know the whys and hows behind it.
****************************************************
This is the first year we haven't had a party for St, Patrick's day. Since my hubby is irish and has has lived in Ireland, it is a big holiday to him and his family. Since he quit drinking, he just isn't interested. Nice for me since I rarely drink anyway.
****************************************************
Kids were back in school today, but they almost didn't go. We has such thick fog that the buses were canceled. Dan drove them and at the same time we went to check out a house. It was a large farm house with lots of land. Seemed ok, but they sold off the land on either side. One side having an orchard. I know the only way onto the other property is from the one drive way. if we bought, I can see big trucks going down our driveway to get to the orchard. Not only that, but I think this house is heated by oil and has a septic tank. No thanks. I will call and find out for sure before we look at the inside. But you ever get a bad vibe about something? Well, I got bad vibes from this house. Don't know why.
****************************************************
Today is just beautiful outside. I helped Dan to take down the x-mas lights (we had thousands up!) I worked around the house for a while, then went for coffee to a friends' house down the road. Do you believe I almost moved one car (Dan's death trap) to get to my van so I could drive it down to her house?? I stopped myself and thought, WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING?
I walked there :D
****************************************************
Food has been good.
It's the same as always. Been missing my salad though. I will eat a salad with my dinner tonight. Must make that more of a habit.
Well I should be off to make dinner for the kids.
I know Mr Bush will be speaking in 3 hours, I pray that he does not start war. Least not yet.
Give peace a chance- JOHN LENNON
Darlene :hippy:
Fleur,
I agree with you, PEACE. Not sure that the war would really accomplish anything and may make things even worse as for as relations between countries(France, Germany, etc).
Good for you, don't you love those 'lightbulb' moments when you realize that you 'can walk there', 'don't need to eat that', 'you want to exercise' etc.
Hey I guess I should call those times 'Magic Moments' right!!!
Take care. You are doing so good.
ps. if you are having bad vibes about a house, don't let anyone distract you from them. Listen to the vibes.
Bettyboop 03-18-03, 03:28 PM Hi there!~o) I'm just having my morning coffee.. trying to catch up with everybody.... I know what you mean it's all so scary and sad. Yesterday and today I've been praying.. I put quite a few Irish prayers in my journal becuase I'm Irish and I just felt the need to share that with everybody. God help us all. All we can do is try to stay positive and not dwell on it too much especially if we have kids I don't want to upset my son overly because I'm sure he get's a lot of it at school as well. I tune into the news and keep abreast but then turn it off and go on with my day.. there's nothing more we can do but pray and hope things turn out right. So how are you doing? Good I hope. I finally broke my plateau and lost 2 pounds which took me under 265 finally ....that was the plateau.. I would lose and gain and stay around 265 for the longest time so now I'm feeling confident that I won't have much problem going down more now that I'm off the plateau.
Lately I've been getting out walking the neighborhood come rain or shine with my trash bag and gloves on and picking up garbage as well. The walk packs more of a punch because I'm carrying all that garbage around and the streets are getting cleaner.. yes one person can make a difference!:hippy: it's a great feeling.. and i can't tell you how happy I am at the end of my walk when I can toss that garbage into the dumpster and feel lighter again. For me it signifies my weightloss and how much heavier I felt when I weighed more.
I remember the days when it was all i could do to walk from my car to my apt and be out of breath.. nowadays I can walk around town and only come home if I'm soaking wet or my feet hurt. I have tons more energy and endurance and that's a great feeling.
I guess that just goes to show that no matter what is happening in the world there is always something to smile about.
You take care and I hope you are smiling today too.:wn
fleureange 03-18-03, 04:15 PM March 18 2003
BETTY- What a great idea. Walking and picking up garbage too. I think I will do the same when I walk outside.
****************************************************
CRAZY- you are so right about the vibes. I told my husband about my feelings and he said he had the same ones. So, we are not going to bother about that one.
It really did feel great to walk to my friend's house rather than drive. What was I thinking???
****************************************************
Oh, I'm so excited. I think I may have found "the" house. It's in the small town I grew up in, the one we moved from to move here 4 years ago. My mom is also in that town.
It is a large home about 20 years old. It has 5 bedrooms, Central air, firplace in the huge family room, fenced yard. It has all the things we are looking for and it's in our price range which is rare for this town. It's expensive to buy there now. And a house so big!!! My mom knows the realitor who is selling it and he told here there was some work that needed done but not much. Also, its empty and the owners are wanting to sell. He said they are willing to come down in price. Yippy. I hope this turns out to be the one. The only problem would be for us to sell this one quickly.
One can pray!
Speaking of prayers, I have been praying for peace. It seems my prayers may go unanswered. I hope any war would end quickly and I pray for the men, women and families of the troops. I hope they all come home safe, sound and soon.
Food has been good.
Decided to have just a salad for lunch instead of the pita. I'm going to try to go without that lunch pita. I hope that might jog this body into losing another pound.
Hope you are all well
Make every moment count.
Darlene :hippy:
fleureange 03-18-03, 05:01 PM This is the house we want to look at and hope to buy if all goes well.
Bettyboop 03-18-03, 05:01 PM Really! When you said you'd be picking up garbage too it made my day.. trust me it's a great feeling you feel like you have made a difference. I look forward to my walks and seeing what a difference one person can make. But please remember to protect yourself. I bought a box of those latex gloves and I wear a pair of isotoner gloves under them and then the gloves which not only keep my hands warm but protect them and never pick up a syringe...I know you aren't a kid but you can never be too careful I would hate for you to be injured after taking my idea and putting it to use! I got one of those devices that helps me pick up things I wouldn't want to pick up withmy hands so that I don't have to touch them. it also helps me with hard to reach trash and little things even cigarette butts if I'm that ambitious. Well I hope you get the same good feelings from it that I do. Take care and have an awesome day today! God bless you. Thanks for making my day!:gflower:
MadMarnDZ 03-18-03, 08:43 PM Hey Darlene-
I'm still around just haven't been by for awhile and you have a new journal and I love the origin of your title. How sweet. I see your still busy as ever and I wish you a lot of luck with getting that house. I love it its beautiful and sounds roomy. Just wanted to say "hi" and have a great week. :)
mcmarto 03-18-03, 11:45 PM Hey Fleur!
You are doing well!
Sad to hear about the war too........to top it all off I went to see The Pianist today.......not the best movie to go see before a potential war!......Really drained me!
The house looks big and beautiful!....I hope it all works out for you...I know how it feels to really ... really ... really want something (like donuts...and pizza)...hahaha...just kidding!
Have a great Wednesday...mcmarto
the house looks nice...and sounds like the room you need too
I will be hoping it works out for you
I, too, am feeling terrible about the war
what happens now that UN has no bearing
I guess its a free for all to whoever has the biggest guns
scary
lets make tomorrow the best we can
luv ya
Peng
chumlette 03-19-03, 09:33 AM Oooo I hope you get the house! You sound so excited!!!
I love your new motto, Make Every Moment Count.
I plan to do that!
Have a great day, Fleur!
Oh wow! The house is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can see why you want it so bad :)
Maybe you can rent it with rent going towards purchase price until you see yours, or rent yours with a month to month lease until it sells - couple options here that may work for you.
I too hope you get it :)
So happy eating is going well for you!
Jade
fleureange 03-19-03, 08:57 PM March 19 2003.
BETTY- I just think picking up garbage is a really good idea. It helps keep our streets clean, it's a nice walk and you get bonus exercise bending down to pick it up. Great idea! I would be proud to adopt it myself. Thanks for the idea.
I will def keep your advice in mind about wearing gloves and such.
****************************************************
MARN- Glad you stopped in. I too find it hard to get around to all the journals. Most days I can't even get around at all.
I hope we get that house too. I am really pinning my hopes to it.
****************************************************
MC- I'm not crazy about the railing in front of this house, but it's by far the best house for the money out there. For us who want to bye and cell quick, I guess I could live with it,
My basenment is upside down with boxes and such. We're going through our storage boxes (mostly clothes for the little one) Trying to clean things up and get rid of some junk so our house doesn't look so clutered. Any way, my point to all that is I'm glad the Idita walk is over. I can't get to my treadmill. There is NO WAY I could unfold it to walk. I hope to get this cleaned up soon as our realitor is coming Friday.
****************************************************
PENG- you are so right, the one with the biggest guns! Very scary.
I hope Mr Bush knows what he's doing.
I myself would rather see inspections and such before war. In any case, the troops are there and I support THEM, not WAR.
****************************************************
CHUM- I'm keeping my fingers crossed about the house!
About my motto, it's true, we need to make every moment count because one day we will run out of them and when we do, looking back, I hope to have used everyone and not waisted any. This moment is all we have. Lets use them, make them count for something.
****************************************************
Food has been good. Missed breakie again thought (oops MC
:o )
Well, tomorrow is the day we see the house. I'm so excited. I hope it is the house we want.
Not to much to say tonight. I hope to go read some journals and maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to go to chat.
Have a great night
Make every moment count.
Darlene :hippy:
fleureange 03-19-03, 09:11 PM JADE- how are you girl? Hope you are well.
I like your ideas about renting. I can mention it, but somehow I doubt it would work. I may take just as long for us to find renters as it would to sell. Nobody wants to move into a house and move out the next month. Just to hard.
It can't hurt to look into it though. Thanks for the mentioning it.
****************************************************Thought I'd try posting some pictures of my family. None of me cause I rarely get in any photos hehehe.
This is Dan and Reilly after hockey.
chumlette 03-20-03, 11:43 AM Funny. Your DH looked exactly how I pictured him. Handsome guy! Y'all make a lovely couple. Really! Can't wait to see how your house visit goes!
maximum 03-20-03, 12:41 PM HI Darelene
If the house is meant to be it will be ;)
Take care
fleureange 03-20-03, 06:52 PM March 20 2003
CHUM- My hubby has one of those looks, you know. Everyone says he looks familiar.
The house didn't go so well. It needed to much work. Roof, windows and major decore. The size and location was nice.
********************************************
MAX- how right you are. I guess this one wasn't meant to be.
********************************************
We are meeting with the realitor to put our house on the market tomorrow.
Wonder what we'll get for ours and how fast it will sell.
Food today was good. Not my usuall though.
I'm thinking about revamping my food plan. I'll let you know what comes out of it.
That's all for now.
Darlene. :hippy:
Minnie mouse 03-20-03, 11:20 PM Hello Darlene,
sorry the house wasnt what you hoped but it wasnt meant to be and somewhere there is a house waiting for you.
things always happen for a reason.
you will find what your looking for.
have a great day tommorow and take care.
fleureange 03-21-03, 04:32 PM March 21 2003. IT'S SPRING!!!!!
MINNIE- As it turnes out, Dan has decided to put a very low bid on this house. This pleases me. With a low bid, you never know. We could then fix up what needs to be done and I would be close to my mom so she could babysit while I worked.
The only catch is, there is already an offer on it and it's conditional of financing. Today is the last day for them to get it. If not, it goes back up and we can present our offer.
I will still keep my fingers crossed but as you say, if it was meant to be, it will be.
****************************************************
Ok, my food program seems to be going a bit crazy here. Not over doing it to much, nor am I eating my trigger foods, but I just don't feel as committed to it right now. I really need to refocus and come up with a new plan. The weight doesn't seem to be moving off. one pound a month is not good enough. I know I can rework it to lose at least 5-10.
****************************************************
Well, it's official. our house is now up for sale. He told us that most of his homes get sold with in a month. :tongue:ray:
So, I've posted pictures of Reilly and Dan, today I'm posting a picture of Bry-Anne. Or as Pengii calls her, Minnie me. LOL
Have a great day,
Darlene :hippy:
fleureange 03-21-03, 04:41 PM For some reason, it won't let me post Bry-Anne's picture.
Sorry about that.
Darlene
hope your house sells fast and for a good price :)
Hubbies idea sounds like a good one & if things don't work out for this house, just look at it as was not meant to be.
What a great looking family you have :)
Jade
mcmarto 03-23-03, 06:32 PM Hey Fleur!
Long time no visit!
Fun chatting wit you the other night!
Hope the house sells fast.........you need to be able to reach that treadmill...hahahaha!
How is the weather?...Is it nice enought to walk outside yet?
It was 65 and sunny here today...tomorrow it will be close to 70!
I love the pic...can't wait to see more!
Hope you had a good weekend!...I did.....back to work tomorrow....ick...but at least I do not have class for the next two Mondays!

sandielynne 03-23-03, 10:59 PM Hello Fleur ~
How bout this? I didn't forget where your journal was, you just thought I did...........haha
I have been roaming about the neighborhood tonight and saying hi and hello to as many as I can get to.
Your house is totally gorgerous. I love the stone work. Good luck with it. Make sure to let us know asap when you find out, okay?
Think Positive
Keep Smiling ................. :)
Sandie
fleureange 03-24-03, 01:23 AM March 24 2003
JADE, I hope our house sells super quick too. I am really looking forward to moving now.
yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
MC- I enjoyed our chat too. I always love chatting LOL.
Think maybe I put those boxes there subcontiously to keep me off the treadmill? hmmmm???? No, it's all gone now. We moved all the boxes out to our garage.
Here is a link to the site that's showcasing our house.
Once there, click home showcase and our home is showcase 5.
www.mbsells.com
See if you can find my treadmill LOL it's in it's upright position.
yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
SANDIE- That's ok, I almost forgot where my own journal was. Haven't been on the puter in 48 whole hours!!!!! That is a miracle for me. hehehe. My friend asked me if I was sick LOL.
Still don't know about the house. The realitor said he was going to find out Friday if the house was sold or not, but he hasn't gotten back to us. If it's not, we will put in a bid. I'll bet it's gone, but if it's not, our realitor doesn't really want us to bid on it because of the low bid we want to put in. But hey, it's a forclosure so you just never know if they just want to get rid of it and depending on what is really owed on the house, they can still make a great profit. He better not be draging his feet so he doesn't have to put in our bid.!!!
yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Well, food hasn't been great and I had better get my act together. The challenge ends soon and I want to win. ;) MC
Guess that's all that's new around here.
I'm trying once again to post a picture of Bry-Anne, let's see if it works tonight.
Have a great week
Darlene :hippy:
chumlette 03-24-03, 12:26 PM Hey Fleur. So I'm curious. What are your "trigger" foods? What does that phrase mean? Foods you want to eat in huge quantities? Foods that trigger you to eat other foods? Foods that make you want to pick up a gun and shoot the refrigerator? Have a wonderful day, girl!
fleureange 03-25-03, 12:37 PM March 25 2003
LOL CHUM, I would have to say all of the above. No really, I would say my trigger foods send me off into a downward spiral into none stop eating. Sone of my trigger foods are bread (perticularly white flour) sugar, all sweets, even muffins. To me it doesn't matter if they are fat free, or sugar free, if it's a cake or the like, my brain registers it as a trigger food and off I go eating anything and everything which then leads me to want to shoot the refridgerator.
So, even the fat free muffins or diabetic cheese cakes are out for me. i have found even one bite is deadly. I take one bite and with in hours, I'm off in search of somthing to fill the "void"
****************************************************
Well, I've done it. I've swiched to the Atkins diet. I figure I might as well since I'm cooking and counting for Dan, I might as well do it for myself too. I'll give it a shot anyway.
I hope to lose more weight this way, but who knows. Once I get down to a lower weight, I plan to switch right over to low fat. I know there is no way I can do Atkins the rest of my life. I am a creature of habit so the induction faze should be the same all the way through, but once i get the the part where I need to start adding carbs, forget it. Low fat, here I come.
Well, nothing else new, so I'm off to read journals while I can.
Have a great day.
Darlene :hippy:
maximum 03-25-03, 01:43 PM Oh.. I could just squeeze her! How cute is she? ;)
I'll be curious to see how the Atkins diet goes for you. My neighbor lost 75 pounds. Good luck...
mcmarto 03-25-03, 08:21 PM Hey Fleur!
I went to that sight...but it only listed showcases 1,2,3, and 4!!!...hmpft!
Well...I hope the house buying and selling is going well!
Bryanne is too cute...I mean really cute!
Hope you have a lot of success with the Atkin's Diet!...I am still counting calories...trying to stop myself from all of these free days!
Eeeek!
Happy walking!
mcmarto
fleureange 03-26-03, 06:41 PM March 26 2003
MAXIMUM- Wow, your neighbor must be so proud! I hope I can enjoy that same success. Thanks for letting me know. If they can do it, so can I.
****************************************************
MC- How strange. There are now 6 showcases. hmmmmm?
We were going to have an open house on Saturday, but we still have some work to do in the second bathroom so we are putting it off for another week.
Bry-Anne is a ball of personality. Everyone falls for her. Just let her talk and sit back and enjoy the show, LOL.
I use to count cals, but I hated counting anything. So that was one of my big reasons for not wanting to do Atkins. I hate counting! But then I ended up having to count anyway for Dan. I mean I wouldn't do the diet beause of counting and and I end up counting anyway. I resented it. But now I'm use to "cooking" which I love 8-| and I have all the carbs pretty much counted up. So, if I'm cooking and counting anyway, I might as well give it a go.
****************************************************
Day 3 on Atkins and so far so good. I have had some week moments, but I know they will go away.
Nothing else new around here. Boring life as always.
Have a great night.
Darlene :hippy:
mcmarto 03-27-03, 07:18 AM So what are some things you are cooking up / eating for this diet...Give me a typical day!
Hope you have a good one...good luck again with that house...I will check those showcases later!
mcmarto
Fleur,
Your house must be sold because now there are only 4 showcases. Or is it 153, I saw a treadmill there, it is a beautiful house too.
How is Atkins going?
Sorry I haven't been here for a bit, am getting back in action.
Nice to see you doing so well and feeling so positive. Enjoy the nice weather!!!
chumlette 03-27-03, 09:37 AM Hey girl, just wanted to check in and say hi. Good luck with the open house. I hated the one we had. At least we were gone. ha It made me a nervous wreck to have all those strangers in our apartment. We had 250+ people in less than 4 hours. It was insane apparently. I probably would have passed out.
Btw, your life hardly sounds boring.
maximum 03-27-03, 10:49 AM No Chums right your life doesnt sound boring at all.
So I am like others and curious to know what you eat on the atkins? I was unaware that you still had to count anything. What do you count? I thought You just ate meat and spinach. LOL!
Apparently not. I had a lady I camped with that maintains her weight by doing atkins for two weeks on and two weeks off.
fleureange 03-27-03, 02:02 PM March 27 2003
MC- This is so far what a typical day is food wise.
Breakfast- 3 romain lettuce leaves with chicken salad (home made)
Lunch- 3 egg omlette with bacon and 1/2 c sauted red pepper and onion (1/2 c before saute) 2oz grated cheese.
Snack-pork rinds or turkey peperoni sticks
Dinner-1 C romain lettuce, some kind of meat, (tonight it's chicken) fetta cheese (1-2 oz) 10 olives and a pickel
I can eat all the meat and eggs i want. Everything else has to be calculated for carbs, but you get to know what is low in one hell of a hurry. Cooking for Dan has helped me to learn it before I started it.
****************************************************
CRAZY- He must have changed the number of our showcase. It is 153. You saw the right treadmill LOL. We have a nice enough house, but it's just to small for us. We need bigger.
Glad to see you out and about. Thanks for visiting.
I know I'll be around tonight, because I'm going to the library. They have high speed internet so I can get to many more journals then I can at home. I post in my own and maybe two others in about 45 mins. Isn't that sick?
Oh, can't wait to move. That is one thing that is a must for our new home, we need to have access to faster internet then this crappy dial up!!!
Wow, did I go off there or what ? LOL
By the way, love your avatar.
****************************************************
Well, I am liking the Atkins diet so far. Not finding it hard at all. Since I wasn't eating bread and pasta before, this seems like a "peice of cake" :ha:
I know I was eating pitas before, but in my head, it was't bread. So really I have given up pita and my yogurt and granola cereal.
Now I eat the greasiest food going and I am losing.
I started Atkins on Monday. Up 3lbs from before- 272lbs. I am now 268. I know this will come and go and the loss will not stay this steady. But I have seen others with great success in short time, then plateau for 3 weeks, then drop very quick once again. So, with knowing this, I am ready for any plateaus that come my way.
Nothing new once again.
Gonna hve to get myself a life LOL
Take care
Darlene :hippy:
fleureange 03-27-03, 02:16 PM MAXIMUM- some how I ened ou on my last page and didn't see you and Chum had been here.
As i mentioned, I count Carbs. On the induction, I am allowed 20 carbs a day. Consider you average cereal has about 22. Meats and eggs are free, all else gets counted. Even fruit is high and not recommended. I had a hard time understanding how this worked as it goes against all i have ever known about weigh loss.
Dr Atkins theory is sound once you understand it and I have seen many with wonderful results. See above post for an average menu.
Your friend most likely goes on and off the induction. It is normaly a two week period. You can stay on it for up to 6 months. I can see I will be on for the full 6 months, then off for 2 then back on till my weight is gone.
****************************************************
CHUM- We decided to cancel the open house for this weekend. We will have one next weekend instead.
WE just have so much to do around here first.
I'm getting worried. I know he's raised the price to high. Nobody has even called. i just know the only people to come to our open house will be our nosey neighbors.
Still, I too hate the idea of stranges coming through my house.
Darlene :hippy:
Sounds Great Fleur,
When I started this avatar I thought, Fleur should have had this one in her last journal, about 'Bouncing'!!!
Hope you find just the right house that you both are really happy with.
I have heard very postive things about Atkins and wish I could follow it - but I just know I will never part with my pastas.......sigh
I sure wish you the best though :)
Jade
fleureange 03-27-03, 06:59 PM JADE- They have soy pastas. I buy mine at the bulk food store and it looks, tasts and feels just like the real deal. I actually thought they used the real stuff and labled it wrong.
********************************************
CRAZY- I was thinking the same thing when I saw your avatar. Great minds think alike.
Darlene :hippy:
mcmarto 03-27-03, 08:25 PM Ok...for whatever reason I cannot see your home...I go to the site...and click on showcases...it drops down and only list 1,2,3, and 4!!!...I give up!...hahaha!
So happy to hear the Atkins is going well...thanks for sharing the menu with me!
Hope you have a great weekend!
mcmarto
fleureange 03-29-03, 06:47 PM March 29 2003
MC- Hope you finally got to see the correct show case. The realitor moved it to show case #3.
****************************************************
Well, so far the Atkins diet is working well for me. The pounds are just melting away. I'm down about 5lbs so far and it hasn't even been a week.
Can't post a long on right now. Got to bring Erin and her friend to a dance.
Hope to be here later.
Have a great night.
Darlene :hippy:
fleureange 03-29-03, 08:42 PM I'm back.
I just wanted to journal the great hockey game Reilly had today.
Thank goodness it's the last! Yeah!!!
It was the last shift of the game. (they play 2 minute shifts) The score was 2-1 for us.
The other teams scores the tieing goal and it's now 2-2 with only a minute left.
Now we're down to a few seconds left and Reilly gets a break a way. He scored the game winning goal with 13 seconds left to play. And the crowd went nuts!!!
I was so proud of him and he of himself.
Afterward, they were all given trophies. Tehy were presented in alphabetical order, but because Reilly sighed up late, he was added to the end of the list. Everyone clapped as the children got their tophies. When they got to Reilly, they went nuts again.
He had a smile from ear to ear.
Well, just wanted to share that with you.
Darlene :hippy:
now that is worth a huge smile
:)
glad you had a great day
Peng
what a super time you got to share with him :D
Thanks for the tip on pasta - I will give this some thought :)
Jade
mcmarto 03-30-03, 08:38 AM I finally saw it...saw your house!
Very nice!...It is very...very...very nice!...AND you have a pool too!
Ok...so...you are moving how far away from this place?...To a bigger or smaller place?
Hope you are having luck with the home buying!
mcmarto
Very cool about Reilly, He will never forget that experience. There is no way he won't want to play next year, look out Fleur.
Take care, Have you found any homes you are interested in yet?
BTW, congrats on the 5 pounds, that is exciting.
fleureange 03-31-03, 12:35 AM March 30 2003
PENGII- I'll tell ya, Reilly was just glowing, but two hours later he was back to his old self. Didn't think twice about it. Typical of him.
****************************************************
JADE- I sure hope if you decide to give the pasta a try that you enjoy it. I swear to you, there is no taste difference. The stuff I buy is in bulk and has no lable for me to recomend:(
****************************************************
MC- Would you believe that pool is only a 3' kiddy pool? It's not even a true above ground. I never used it much, but Dan and the kids did. I was too embarraced to climb the small ladder. Not only that, I was afraid to break it. Would be nice to find a home with an inground pool. I love to swim. Let me tell ya, the weight would just melt off then and you'd never see me here unless they invented a water proof pc LOL.
We are looking for a bigger home. Erin, who will be 12 in May shares a room with Bry-Anne who just turned 5. There is just no room for all their stuff. Erin has her tarantula and geko and Bry-Anne has her dolls and kitchen set. The room is ready to burst with stuff. Dan also wants a room for a pool table and the Red Wing room is just to small for one.
Glad you finaly got to see it :D
By the way, how are you doing? Remember, we got to measure up in a couple of days ;)
****************************************************
CRAZY- Reilly played hockey last year and I was so worried for the season to end. But he doesn't miss a beat. He plays hockey in our driveway, plays mini stick hockey in the basement, watches old games from video and plays it on both Nintendo and the puter. That should hold him over till the season starts again. For me, I'm just happy to be able to sleep in on weekends once again.
That home I posted before is sold. I knew it would be. Our realitor really dragged his feet on it. I was not happy about that. If this guy doesn't smarten up, I think I want to dump him for someone who will do as we ask.
We have decided not to really look to hard till we get an offer on our home. No sense finding one just to lose it because we can't sell ours. (which I think is way over priced for our area)
****************************************************
Must tell ya, this Atkins thing is really alot easier then I thought it would be.
I don't know if you remember me telling you about that wonderful "Atkins" friend I have. The one that was making me feel bad about my food plan and my "lack of success" Well, I have not told her that I've started the Atkins plan. I don't mention my weight at all. The only ones who know you guys , Dan and my daughter. That's it. I don't even want to tell anyone else.
Been busy during the day lately. Trying to get last minute stuff done. We are going to have the open house this weekend. Dan has a ton more work to do then I do and he has to work all night. Poor guy.
I guess I should head to bed. Been a long day and another is yet to follow.
Hope you all had a great weekend and a great week.
Oh, MC, I'm gonna win :D
Darlene :hippy:
sounds great Fleur, Don't wipe yourself out about the open house though. Your pictures looked great. I'm sure your house will be fine.
What is this contest between you and Mcmarto?
fleureange 03-31-03, 06:52 PM March 2003,
CRAZY- Mc and I are in the inch pincher's challenge that Chum started. Today is the last day. We give our final measuments. I keep telling her I'm gonna win, but she doesn't seem to believe me. LOL She seems to think she's going to win. Now wonder were she ever got that idea. LOL ;)
****************************************************
I'm going to measure so I can post my final results. Win or lose, I have won and I have lost. I'm better for having been part of the challenge.
I'd like to thank Chum for getting my butt going
I'd also like to thank Mc for KEEPING my butt going. Without you, I would never have finished the challenge.
Have a great night.
Darlene :hippy:
Bettyboop 03-31-03, 07:10 PM Your daughter is a cutie... well here's to hoping your house sells and you get into the bigger one.... so how do you feel after being on Atkins? We want details! Are you having an easy time with it or is it hard to change the way you eat? do you miss the fruit? I just don't think I could do it... have you lost any weight on Atkins so far? Good luck!!!:cheer:
fleureange 03-31-03, 07:46 PM Now where did that post go????
I just posted to you Betty and now it's gone. It went through too. Hmmmm?
this is pretty much how it went.
I started Atkins last Monday. So far i have lost 6lbs.
I didn't think I could stick to this kind of diet, but I have had no trouble. My cravings are gone.
i miss fruit only when I smell it. Even then it's no big deal. i was never a big fruit fan.
I have expanded my choises by using some of the recipes for bread, bbq sause, french toast and pancakes. I have also found soy pasta which tastes just like the real thing.
I find it very easy to stick to, but find I'm cooking alot more. i havent had to dine out yet. That should be an interesting event.
Now that I'm doing Atkins, I can't even remember why I thought I couldn't do it.
I hope you found this informative.
Darlene :hippy:
Bettyboop 03-31-03, 07:55 PM cool 6 pounds in a week is awesome! Way to go for you!!! It's always informative hearing from someone who's having success and hearing what is working for them. And how it makes them feel.. so you have just as much energy as ever and aren't craving food you can't have? Whenever I've tried to stick with a diet that eliminated foods I focused on what I couldn't have and failed. Looks like you are doing the opposite so maybe this will work for you! I wish you all the success. Soy pasta sounds hard to make.. or do you buy it made like regular pasta? Maybe I'll try it.
fleureange 03-31-03, 10:47 PM Betty, I buy the pasta. I wouldn't have a clue how to make it from scratch.
I find rather then focusing on what I can't have, I think of what my next meal will be. Wok out the menu. For most foods, there is an alternitive.
Fruit juice is something that I could go for right now, but a nice glass of water will do nicely too.
Splenda is a great sweeter. It can be used as is or you can use it to bake. I only bake bread once in a while. Dan nor I really feel the need for it.
My friend made some buns and gave me one. I had a nice BLT on it. All legal.
As to the energy and cravings, I haven't noticed my energy level change at all. Most feel tired for a couple of days. The cravings disappear once the body chemistry adjusts.
Darlene :hippy:
I am going to a health food store in the next few days - what do I ask for? Soy noodles???? Are they a lot more costly then the regular ones?
I really want to give this a try :)
Jade
mcmarto 04-01-03, 07:48 PM Hey Fleur!
We are both winners...and you know that!...
Glad you are doing so well with the Atkins diet!...
mcmarto
fleureange 04-01-03, 10:36 PM April 1 2003
JADE- Yes, I would ask for soy noodles. I got mine from the bulk store, but you could also find it at a health food store. Not sure that all bulk stores carry it.
It is a wee bit more costly, but only by a few cents. Worth it if you're a pasta lover. I have yet to eat it, but I have tried it. I'm just not a pasta nut. Dan, however, loves it.
Are you thinking of doing Atkins? or just trying the pasta? If it's Atkins, please make sure you do your homework. There is much you need to know. Not that it's hard, it's not, but you need to know how it works. If you are doing Atkins, I have a few sites that can help.
At any rate, good luck and enjoy the pasta.
****************************************************
MC- yeah baby!!! We did it!!! We are both winners and losers. We win cause we lost, LOL.
I haven't been back to see everyones posts yet, but you better believe I'll be there. Got lots of folks to congratulate.
You, being one.
Way to go!
****************************************************
Ok, I take back what i said about my life being boring. Lets put it this way, i know what a chicken with it's head cut off feels like. LOL
Just non stop around here. Sunday looks like it might actually be a day of rest this week.
Well, I'll not linger here any longer. Gonna try to get around to some journals.
Have a great night.
Darlene :hippy:
Thanks - not sure about atkins - too many things to count and keep track of for me. But I hear soy is better for us anyways, so would like to give it a try :)
How is the house situation coming along?
How are you doing eating and exercise wise?
Jade
fleureange 04-02-03, 05:42 PM April 2 2003
JADE- Hope you enjoy the pasta.
As to the house, we are having an open house on Satuday. Dan is painting the kitchen right now and my house is all upside down. We have so much to do before then. We have had no time to look for a new house of our own, but once this work is done, then we can sit back and look.
Food has been great, but exercise has been nonexistant since the idita walk ended. I seem to have to time anymore.
No sooner is hockey over my dd joins badminton. She has to be at school early and stay every night. Tonight is also her big show from her hip hop class so I have to go to that. Thursday is practice, her tutor, and parent/teacher conference for all three kids. ****deep breath**** At some point i have to put this house back together, do 15 loads of launrdy and scrub till the place shines.
Ok, I've vented enough. Time to go to hip hop.
Have a great night everyone.
Darlene :hippy:
What a busy little fleur, here is a  to keep you going.
Glad to see the Atkins is still doing great things for you. How much has DH lost? How is he doing?
Well, open house is almost here and then you can relaxxxxxxxxxx.
Take care.
Congrats on your inches lost, Fleur! Good job!
chumlette 04-03-03, 10:34 AM Way to go Fleur~I want to add my clapping hands to the multitudes here!!!
maximum 04-03-03, 11:30 AM Hi Fleur:
Well gosh I'm glad the Atkins diet is working for you. I noticed at my store the other day they have four shelves of ATKINS products, Bread mixes, bars, cookies, pastas, dressings. But everything seemed very pricey. But one thing here and there wouldn't be bad. I have a personal question. Something that me and a few of my freinds have wondered. Do you find being on the atkins, and eating all this meat that your breath smells? I'm just wondering. I still think of trying it, but I'm afraid to, Thats awesome that it is working for you!
mcmarto 04-03-03, 07:45 PM EEEk...you are such a busy mom...
How is the house stuff coming along?...
Get back into the exercise...even if its only 2 or 3 times a week...like me!....hahaha
mcmarto
fleureange 04-04-03, 02:16 PM Hi everyone, can't post a long one. Soooo busy!
Thanks to all of you for your support. I couldn't have lost these inches without it.
Maximum- I have noticed that my breath does stink. So I read up on it and it is coming from my stomach. I counter act it by drinking lots of water. So now, no bad breath.
Hope this helps.
Hope to come back and give a "real" post tomorrow night, after the kaos is over.
Darlene :hippy:
you sure have a busy life - especially right now with everything going on with house and all - but my friend, you NEED so darlene time :)
Take a quiet walk alone - that will give you your time alone and some exercise as well.....what ever you do, try to get in some you time :)
Jade

fleureange 04-05-03, 08:08 PM JADE- First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! :tongue:arty: :bd :tongue:arty:
You are so right, I do need some me time. I hope once Dan goes off to work tonight, I can sit an d curl u with a good book.
****************************************************
MC- to true
****************************************************
MC- to true........................LOL ;)
****************************************************
Well, things didn't go so well. Nobody came to our open house. All that work *sigh* Dan took 2 days off work trying to get it all done in time.
The weather was ugly. Had a freezing rain storm last night. Guess that didn't help. I still think our home is over priced.
Well, least now I can relax for a while. As Jad said, I need some me time.
For now, I need to go cook for Dan's dinner.
Have a great night.
Darlene :hippy:
mcmarto 04-06-03, 10:46 AM Such a good post...I had to post twice!
hahaha...How goes the Atkin's???...mc
sorry to hear open house did not go so well........sigh
However I sure hope you did get in some you time this weekend :)
Jade
fleureange 04-07-03, 04:36 PM April 7 2003- and still snowing!!!
MC- With you posting twice, I thought I was real special LOL.
Atkins is going good. Had a stall over the weekend and I'm back at it. I should be burning fat rather then sugar by this evening. (takes 48 hours)
****************************************************
JADE- The open house was a bust, but yesterday someone came to the door thinking we were doing it on Sunday too. I had to give her the realitors card and told her to make an appointment. I knew it was the right thing to do, but I sure felt guilty doing it.
The realitor just called me about an hour ago and told me theres a couple that want to come through tomorrow night. :D So I'm quite happy about that. We are also going to see another house on Thursday. This one has 4 bedrooms and an inground pool. Oh I could just see me in an inground pool. I hope all goes well.
****************************************************
As I said, I had a stall on the weekend. I have no idea why. I wasn't craving sweets, but they were there in front of me and I just dug in. Force of habit I guess.
So, yesterday I started a new. By tonight, I should have burned off all the sugars in my blood and should be back to burning fat as my primary source of fuel.
The sooner the better.
WEll, I hope to take a quick look at a few journals. I am so sorry I haven't been posting much in them, but life sure seems to have picked up it's pace around here.
Darlene :hippy:
chumlette 04-08-03, 12:09 AM You are a busy little bee. I'm glad you are getting some interest in the house. I'll bet the weather kept people away, don't you think?
What do you do for "me" time anyway?
Congrats getting back on your program!
fleureange 04-08-03, 08:50 AM April 8 2003
CHUM- Well, it was kinda a half ass kind of me time. While we were having the open house, we went for a family ride. That was part of my me time. In that time, I also went to the book store and bought Dr Atkins newest book. That was also for me.
Sunday i skipped out on house cleaning, and went to visit a friend. So, it wasn't all time spent on me, but it was something I enjoyed doing.
Gonna have to work on the real me thing.
****************************************************
Good news, I got up on my scale this morning, and I'm down another 3lbs. Gonna go update my stats now.
I'll be back later on, maybe even tonight after we show the house.
Have a good day.
Darlene :hippy:
fleureange 04-08-03, 04:02 PM What a day!
Had to leave here at 9:30 this morning to take the kids to the city for a Dr appointment. After that they were going for blood tests but first, I needed to go to my Dr to get a form for my blood work too. Waited till after noon just for them to tell me my DR wants to see me first. Had to come back at 1. In the mean time, took the kids to get their blood work done. Made it back to my DR just after 1 and had to wait 45 mins to see him. Got my form, now it's my turn to wait an hour for my blood test to be done.
I just got home and its 3:50!!!! All day wasted.
I was in a hurry to get home to clean the house because we were going to show the house tonight. The realitor called and the husband has to work overtime so it is canceled for tonight. They said they would make it early next week.
Oh well, it's a good thing. My house needs some attention anyway and Dan isn't done with the drop ceiling either.
Now I have time to go get some groceries. I have nothing in this house.
My lunch was at a very small lunch counter. No seats. Had a sandwich and at all but the bread. I just hope the chicken and cheese they used wasn't full of carbs, but I was starving and didn't care. I hadn't eaten since 8 this AM.
Well, that's all the griping I have to do for now.
Oh no it's not!
I got a parking ticket! My first ever. I had to pay for parking and because of waiting so much, I forgot all about parking. I was 7 mins to late! $15 bucks down the drain.
Ok, now I'm done.
Darlene :hippy:
sandielynne 04-08-03, 05:17 PM Hi Darlene,
Sounds like one of those days you are glad to see the end of. Doesn't that parking ticket really bite? What a shame.
I hope you will be able to look back at today, at some later time, and find something about it to laugh at. That would make it less painful anyway.....................right?
I guess at this point all I can do is hope that tomorrow proves to be a better day all around.
Take care. Just popped in to say hello.
Sandie
mcmarto 04-08-03, 07:11 PM Your first ticket...awwwww...how cute!
Welcome to the club...my DH gets tickets all the time...its a real piss off...here if you don't pay them within a few weeks...they double!
Congrats on the 3lb loss!...Pray I have not had a 3lb gain!
mcmarto
fleureange 04-08-03, 08:08 PM SANDIE- Oh man, does it ever bite. I too hope tomorrow will be better. I mean, how much worse could it be? or should I ask? LOL
****************************************************
MC- How cute???? HA!! My hubby laughed.
Thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to pay it right away cause I'd spit nickels if it doubled.
I'll pray you have no gain. I hope .... and pray.... you're back to the old MC ways and not the old old MC ways. Know what I mean?
****************************************************
I've got a killer headach. I'm so glad I didn't have to hurry to get this place cleaned up. As it is, I'll do it when I get around to it. That's just the mood I'm in.
Went and got some groceries. Now I've got my oven fired up and gonna do some cooking tonght. Nice to have things cooked ahead of time to just grab.
Well, gonna just go take some leisure time and read some journals. Not in any hurry tonight!!!
Darlene :hippy:
fleureange 04-10-03, 07:33 AM April 10 2004
WOW, another pound gone. I better update my stats. I forgot to do it last time. :o
I'm off to get my kids off to school then to get ready to look at a house. Who knows, this may be "the one"
Have a great Thursday.
Darlene :hippy:
Hi Fleur. Be happy you live where you do! A parking ticket here in Southern California is $35.
How exciting to be house shopping. I think the best part is the dreaming of all the possibilities. Have fun :) .
FLeur,
Congrats on the one pound gone. Wow, even with all the house stress you are doing great(oh, and ticket stress). Good work!!!
How did the house hunting go? Be careful to check them out well.
:cheer: on weight loss! This is just wonderful news! I am so proud of you! :D
Hope house hunting goes well......
Jade
fleureange 04-10-03, 05:10 PM Hi every one. Hope you all had a wonderful day.
KILO- and that's in US funds ????? OMG. Guess I'll shut my mouth and stop complaining!
I'm finding house hunting stressfull. There is just nothing out there the size we want, for the money we want, without major bucks going into it. I hope we find "the" house soon.
CRAZY- Surprised me too, losing this pound. I goofed up on Saturday and got back to it on Sunday, but it takes 2-3 days for my body to switch gears again and start burning fat. I was really shocked.
No more goof ups.
****************************************************
JADE- Thanks for the cheers. They sure make me feel motivated to keep pluging way.
****************************************************
We went to look at the house. BLAH! It was 30 years old, with 30 year old windows, heating and hot water tank.
Every room needed major updating. So, it was a no go. Back to the drawing board.
We are having our second open house on Sunday. I hope it goes better then the last one.
Good news. Some of you may remember a while back, I posted that my hubby got bad medical news from having a blood test for insurance. Well, the rest of us had to be tested for the same problems. I found out today, that we all have a clean bill of health.
What a relief.
Dan is still sick, but at least it's not both of us with sick kids too.
Well, got to go make dinner, then off to be in two places at once!
Reilly has to go to a meeting for his first communion, and Erin has to be at her tutors. All at the same time.
Guess Bry-Anne and I will go to the library. Love it there.
Have a good evening.
Darlene :hippy:
Hey Fleur,
Are you sure that you have to move? sounds like there is not much out there.
Hope you find something that makes you all happy.
Hope the sun is shining up there for you like it was for us today! At last, I think it is really spring. Maybe?? There are still piles of snow here & there but I have my fingers crossed! :spring:
Are you watching the Red Wings tonight??
I am so glad to hear you are not sick. Must be a real relief to hear it officially said. And congratulations on all the pounds you are losing with the Atkins diet! Someone at my Library had to stop using it because she learned one of the most common side effects is headaches, and it was giving her migraines. Be careful, but stick with it if it is working for you. How wonderful!
Yay, too, for your use of the Library! This is National Library Week in the U.S. Do you have something like that in Canada? All kinds of hullaballoo at my place this week & it's been frantic but fun!
Lisrey :bubbles:
chumlette 04-11-03, 01:27 AM So, did I notice correctly that you are down now 10 lbs? Yahoo!!
I'm glad you all are healthy.
Parking tickets are horribly high here too, I think. I've been told a lot are $50.
mcmarto 04-11-03, 06:33 AM Hey Fleur!
So glad to hear you keep losing!...So is the Atkin's getting easier?...How is the DH doing on the plan?
Ok...I am up for your challenge...its going to be a combo...most minutes working out and most pounds lost...
Its starts today........so log in your weight.........we will have check in three times.........May 9th...June 6th...and July 4th...so you must keep a tally of all your workout sessions...and how many minutes you worked out...also...how many pounds you are losing!
I think I have gone up on the scale...I will e-mail you my start weight tomorrow........need a day to let it settle...hahaha...so in a sense...I am giving you a headstart...hahaha!
Good Luck!
mcmarto
maximum 04-11-03, 11:10 AM Hi Fleur
Thanks for stopping inan visiting me. It means a lot.
:hop: Looky you Girly Girl, just droppin the pounds.... :hop:
GO FLEUR....GO FLEUR..........
fleureange 04-11-03, 12:19 PM April 11 2003
You all have just made my day.:D
CRAZY- Yeah, we pretty much have to move. Seems to be the only way to fix our money problems. I think it'll be a good thing, once we find the right house. And, as you can see, it may take some time.:(
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
LISREY- Oh yeah, I watched the game. Was a good one. Three over times!!! To bad we lost. Well, they won't get any more games on us right?
I am a library convert. I use to go every once in a while and be 5 months late with my books :o So now I bring the kids once a week. They enjoy it too.
I'm sure we must have a national library week of some kind, but not sure when it is. I can just imagin how busy you are right now!
I have been getting evening headaches doing Atkins, but this is normal for about a week and they should go away. Nothing that Tylenol or the like, can't fix. (at least for me)
We had a nice sunny day yesterday and was warm too. Today it's going up to 63! and yes, the sun too! Yahoooowie.
By the way, in our case, you are the one "up there" geograghicaly speaking, you are further north then I am :D
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
CHUM- Holy smokes! 50 bucks! I know we have other parking fines that are pretty heafty here too. I think this one was only $15 because it was on private property. Forgot to buy a new ticket when mine expired. All the Dr fault too!!!
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
MC- I'm loving this diet. It is so easy to follow and I'm not even minding cooking so much any more. Dan has lost about 23lbs and he was just in to see his Dr. His blood work came back so good, the Dr was visably suprised. He actully shook Dan's hand and told him to keep doing this diet and that it was doing wonders for his blood sugar and cholesteral levels.
Great! the challenge is on. Figures you would pick work out mins! Guess that means I had really better get my butt in gear.
The only thing I ask, is that you remind me of the check in days. I have a good memory, but it's short hahahaha.
I think this will be good for us. Just look what the inch pinches challenge did to get us going. We've both slacked off since the end of the challenge and the end of the Idita walk. I hope this gets us back in the swing of things.
I too will let you know my start weight tomorrow. I only weigh first thing in the AM and it's already noon. So, I guess you could say it starts tomorrow morning. We can count todays mins if you want. Don't have any yet, but I'm gonna go work on that!
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
MAX- I really was sad to hear of Truckers passing. I hope you are holding up ok. As someone mentioned, losing a pet can sometimes be as bad as losing a loved one. After all, they too are loved ones.
Thanks for the cheers. You guys are the greatest. What ever would I do with out your support. Good times and in bad.
Have a great day
Darlene :hippy:
mcmarto 04-11-03, 06:41 PM You better believe we are counting todays minutes...I have 30 so far...I will have a few more since I am forcing myself onto the treadmill later!...hahaha!
Have a fun weekend!
mcmarto
fleureange 04-11-03, 06:48 PM Just came back from the pet store. Erin go yet another pet. This time she got a guinea pig. She called her Baby because as soon as she held it, it cuddled up to her like a baby. That was her special gift for doing well on her report card. She had 4 Cs last term, and this term she has only one. The other 4 are all Bs. The C she got was a new catagory and was not marked last term. She has improved so much. I'm so glad the tutoring is helping. Defenitly worth the money.
She is just so excited, and so am I. I feel like a kid again too. I would have loved to have all the cool pets she has.
Just learned today that I have a walking partner 3 days a week. Least till I move.
I didn't do much in way of exercise today, but I did do more then I have been. I walked 20 mins out in the fresh air. Going to log that in for Mc-Fleur challenge.
Anyone who feels like joining us on this challenge, is more then welcome. Just log your lbs lost and you exercise mins. The challenge ends on the 4th of July, with 2 check in days on May 9 and June 6.
I'm gonna kick Mc's butt this time. She beat me on the inch pincher challenge, so I can't let that happen again LOL
I'm off to read journals.
Darlene :hippy:
fleureange 04-11-03, 07:14 PM MC- you aren't getting away that easy. I guess I had better get up on my mill too.
Darlene :hippy:
so how is life as a blonde????
luv ya Dar
have a great weekend
 :jn
Peng
Hi Dar! It sounds like things are really moving for you and dh!
I hope your able to find the perfect house..... I'm loving mine.
Congrats on the weight loss.... I went to curves today and found out about their diet plan it's high protein and low carbs too so will try and read the book this weekend and start on Monday
if I can. Have a great weekend and good luck with your challenge!!
fleureange 04-11-03, 10:48 PM PENGII- Go Edmonton!!!
Life as a blonde is good so far. Dan loved how it turned out. He had no idea I was doing it, so it was quite a surprise for him. For some reason, I think it makes my hair look longer. It's so long as it is!
****************************************************
LEE- I suggest reading the Atkins book if you're doing low carb, even if you aren't doing the Atkins diet. He explains how the low carb diet works and why. I found it so interesting. I had no idea the humain body was so complex. It's truely neat. Perhaps you may find it at the library.
Good luck with your program. So, how do you like Curves? As we go looking in different towns for a home, I'm staking out all the fitness centers and Curves. So far I have found two towns that have both, and one town with just a fitness center. I think there is one here, but it's just a glorified weight room for all the muscle necks. It's just at our recreation center. I'll stick with my Weider and treadmill for now.
I hear so many good things about Curves. One day I'd like to join.
Darlene :hippy:
fleureange 04-12-03, 11:16 AM April 12 2003
Got myself a new avatar. I thought peace is in order about now.
MC- got up on the good old scale, and it says I'm at 265. Not bad concidering i was at 290 On Jan 1. Gonna do this one pound at a time.
Yesterdays exercise was 20 min walk and 20 mins on the mill. I'm gonna keep a exercise journal too. I'll be here in the journal forum.
Darlene :hippy:
Peace, Fleur!
Is that blonde? It looks more light-brownish. Pretty, in any event. Very pretty.
Congrats on 265!
mcmarto 04-12-03, 03:23 PM Pfft...girl...you may be blonde...but you ain't gonna beat me!
hahaha!
I have logged in 131 mins so far!...heeeheeeheee...hahahaha!
mcmarto
fleureange 04-12-03, 06:07 PM KILO- my hair looks kind of brownish blonde. Hard to tell in the pityfull light I have in the picture. It is quite blonde in the front however.
I'll add another pic. This is one I sent to Pengii.
****************************************************
MC- Well, you may be in the lead for now, but starting Monday, watch out! LOL ;)

SuziBluEyez 04-12-03, 07:31 PM Hey ya Darlene-- I just wanted to "pop" in and say congrats on the awesome loss! 25 pounds is just fantastic!
They are opening up a Curves near me too -- I've been shopping for a gym but think I may give it some more time so I can check out this place. Are they actually a gym too? Or is it a diet plan? I am curious.
Best wishes
Suzi
fleureange 04-12-03, 09:47 PM Hi Suzi,
Thanks for stopping in. I always love new visitors.
Curves is like a gym, but unlike any you've ever seen.
The one I went to (and I think they are all the same) had stations. You go to each station (machine or platform) and work out for about 30 seconds or so then a voice over the music tells you to switch stations. It takes about 30 mins to do all the stations.
I guess you get quite the work out. You should go and check it out. I believe they offer a free visit or a free week or something.
Good luck.
Darlene :hippy:
looking good! ;)
Popping by to see how you are doing and wow! Your doing great :)
Jade
mcmarto 04-13-03, 09:13 AM Starting Monday?...Say what?...Are you pushing the exercise off until Monday?
Ok...that means I need to get as many more mins in today as I can!...hahahaha!
Well...the sweets got me yesterday...I went over my calories in cake and cookies!...One good thing...I am out of cake and cookies...so...unless I go buy more....I am in the clear!...I hope to drop off this Easter candy too...then I will have nothing that is sugar filled in the house...except maybe a cereal or two...but I don't eat these much...yay...the scale is down 1....from 212 to 211...notice...I won't change my stats...these are my excess pounds...too shameful...but...still count on the mc-fleur challenge!...heeheehee!
mcmarto
Hi Fleur! I had my first workout at Curves Friday and I think I'm going to enjoy it....I just have to make a real effort to get there.
The Curves I'm attending is offering a diet class as well I just got the book and hope to start reading it today.
Sounds like you and Mcmarto are giving each other a real run here!!!
SuziBluEyez 04-13-03, 02:21 PM Thanks for the info on Curves, Dar, it does sound good! I'll have to go check it out. You guys are cracking me up with the motivation -- but its working! Hope your weekend was a good one.
Suzi
fleureange 04-13-03, 07:25 PM April 13 2003
JADE- Thanks my friend :o
****************************************************
MC- Now don't think I'm not gonna shake this bootie till Monday. Oh no! I just can't commit to regular exercise till then. i may only get in 30 mins or so today, but tomorrow.......Oh boy, just you wait! LOL
So your starting at 211 and I'm at 265. The challenge is on!
Get rid of you crap in the house. Leave the puter, do it now,
You still sitting there? I said go get rid of it! NOW MARCH LADY!
Did you do it? I hope so. LOL
****************************************************
LEE- Glad you stopped in. I see more and more people joining curves. Nobody have ever said anything bad about it.
Hope you find your book helpfull. I know I did.
****************************************************
SUZI- I hoped the Curves info helped. I have never been in for a session, but I did stop in to see what it was all about. I din't join because my hubby had just bought me a treadmill and a workout gym. i dont' think he'd have been to groovie with me leaving them for more expence. Guess I can't blame him.
****************************************************
Guess what, I got my e-mail yesterday from American XS which is how I got my Bon Jovi concert tickets before they went on sale for their last concert. They are coming back and I can get tickets again. The only catch is Dan won't go so I told him I would ask our mail lady. She had wanted to go to the last one. I'm not sure if she was serious or not, but i will sure ask her. I want to go soooo bad. I just love those boys. This concert is July 19.
Had another open house today. Not one soul showed up, AGAIN. Can't even blame it on the weather this time.
Well, not much else new. Gonna go log in some exercise mins.
Have a great Monday everyone
Darlene :hippy:
sandielynne 04-13-03, 08:52 PM Hi there Darlene ~
Just thought it was about time I stuck my head in here and said hey. I see you and McMo have a bit of a contest going? Good for the two of you. If it motivates you both to bigger and better things, then it's good for you!
Hope you had a great weekend. I did. And I hope you have a great week ahead as well. Take care now.
Sandie
fleureange 04-14-03, 10:53 PM April 14 2003.
SANDIE- Yep, MC and I have this little challenge going, but ...I'm gonna win ....heheheheh
i think this will help up both stay focused, that's why I opened it up for everyone to join. Keep us all moving farward.
****************************************************
So, nobody came to our first two open houses, and we just found out our home is in the paper again to have one this coming weekend. No way am I having one over Easter weekend.
I'll have to fix that little problem.
Worked outside today for a few hours, and I'm so tired. I also feel very hot and I wonder if I'm not coming down with something. Dan was very ill now my BIL has it. They can keep it, I don't want it.
All I want to do is sleeeeeep.
Got more hours to spend in the garden tomorrow. The weather has been so warm. Tomorrow it will be 81 and about 4 days ago it was barely 40. Go figure. No wonder I'm not feeling well tonight. I just hope I'm not to sick and sore for tomorrow.
Still haven't heard from my mail lady yet. I know I'll see her tomorrow since I'll be working right out front all day. I hope she says yes about the concert.
Well, that's all that's new. I need to go cook something for Dan's dinner.
Have a great night.
Darlene :hippy:
mcmarto 04-15-03, 12:01 AM Hey Fleur!
My starting weight was 212 on Friday...get it right!...hahaha...OH...and let me do some bragging...I have 278 exercise mins in the last 4 days!...Yippee!
Hope some-body comes to see your house!..I think its cute...it should sell quick!
mcmarto
fleureange 04-15-03, 06:18 PM April 15 2003
MC, Okay okay, 212. That makes you down a pound already. Wow great!!!:D
I really racked up the mins today. Mind you it was gardening, but I intend to count them as I was working up a sweat. I did so much raking and bending over, I know I'll be sore tomorrow. I did some yesterday too, but did much more today. I may even get in some aerobics tonight.
****************************************************
What a wonderful day. Our high was 84, but in 2 days from now, it will be 43. Can you imagine??? 40 degrees less. Was nice while it lasted. Go so much yard work done. Brought out all the patio furniture, washed it all down, racked up piles of old wet stinky leaves from the yard and removed piles of leaves from my four gardens. I think i even have a sun burn on my face.
Will be a real bummer to go to work tomorrow. It's going to be cold, windy and rainy. Perfect for a yucky day at work.
The Atkins diet is going well. This is the first time I haven't had a "little cheat" One cheat and the whole thing is ruined. It would through off my whole blood chemistry.
I talked to my mail lady "Debbie" Nice to know her name. She told me she would ask he hubby if it was ok to go to the Bon Jovi concert. I hope she goes. It saves me a whole lot of heart ache.
Erin's little boyfriend is having a birthday soon. We decided to get him a tarantula. I called his dad to see if it was ok. He had no problem with it. His daughter already has one, so now they'll both have one. Lucky them 8-|
Well, I'm off to read journals.
Have a great night.
Darlene :hippy:
sandielynne 04-15-03, 09:07 PM Hi Darlene ~
I agree with you, the weather has been really super the past few days. I believe it is supposed to cool down some here also in a couple more days, but not quite that low, I don't believe.
Sounds like you got a lot done outside today. Wish I had been able to, but we had to get groceries today. I did manage a load of wash out on the line, and it was all dry when I got home from food shopping.
I just wanted to pop in and say hi, and I hope you continue to have a great week.
Sandie
I am jealous that you got to work out in the beautiful weather today! I would love to get some stuff done in my yard... but I haven't had any of the nice days free. :(
Glad you are doing well with the Atkins. I hope your luck will continue! Keep up the exercise minutes... I've got 263 now! :)
Lisrey :ex:
mcmarto 04-15-03, 11:07 PM A tarantula?
Cool gift!
Ok...Ok...you can count the gardening mins...I would!
AND...the scale is being kind to me...already showing 209!...I will not weigh again until Friday...hope it goes down even more!
mcmarto
could you please do me a favor? I hate to ask, but I know how kind you are so I figured it would be ok to ask you :)
Don't ever send me a gift
If you give out spiders as gifts I 'll pass ;)
Just remember me in your thoughts instead lol
Jade
chumlette 04-16-03, 02:20 PM Please, no tarantulas for me either. Though it is kinda cool to give one as a gift, I must admit. VERY original.
I don't know how you do that Atkins thing. Every time I read the word, "cheat," it makes me want to run to Ben and Jerry's.
I am proud of you for working your butt off!!!!!
fleureange 04-16-03, 05:36 PM April 16 2003
JADE- LOLOL too funny. Ok, request granted.:D
****************************************************
CHUM- You sure? Wouldn't you like a pet spider???? LOL
I just thought ...he's a boy, he'd prob like something like that.
Ok, not tarantula for you either.
****************************************************
I'm so excited. I'M GOING TO SEE BON JOVI yet again. My brothers girlfriend will come with me. :D Don't really know how Dan will react. I already ordered the tickets. It's a done deal.
Well, I don't drink, don't smoke, don't gamble. I don't hit the bars and never have and I never spend money on me. Damn it! I deserve to go have a bit of fun now and again.
Did I sound convincing??? I hope so.
That's it for now, took me so long to order the tickets, I had better got off the puter before it explodes LOL
Darlene :hippy:
Yay!! So glad you got your tickets, Fleur! I know you will love it and have a great time. I thought of you driving home from work tonight, some radio station was giving tickets away. :)
Are you doing something fun this holiday weekend? Working on your house more? Hope the weather will be good -- I can't believe it's supposed to get so cold again! Ugh!
Take care,
Lisrey :flower:
Well, well, well, our Fleur is off to Bon Jovi again, what a lucky girl!!!
Hope you have a great time and hope hubby is happy for you.
Take care.
mcmarto 04-17-03, 12:53 AM Hey girlie..."Its my life...its now or never..."...hahaha!
Glad you are going...yet again...and just think...by then...you can be 15 pounds lighter...or more!
mcmarto
chumlette 04-17-03, 07:32 AM So are there Jovi Heads, like there were Dead Heads? hee hee
Glad you get to see them again, Fleur! A nice reward for all your hard work.
fleureange 04-17-03, 07:21 PM April 17 2003
LISREY- Have no fear. You better beieve I'm trying for those tickets. I won tickets to the Jingle Ball last year. I got to see Train, O Town, Jewel, Nelly Furtato, The Cranberries, Blue Cantrell, Five For Fighting, and and and??? I can't remember who else. Was great music.
No, no plans for the weekend. Maybe to clean the joint. It's sooo messy.
Dan will more then likely work this weekend.
********************************************
MC- Oh yeah. I'm going for a cool 30lbs off before then. I'll tell ya, I'm following this diet to the T and I have lost 10 lbs right at the begining. It is one month today I started. I'm due for a 5lb drop. That seems to be how it happens with this diet. All or nothing so to speak.
Don't know if you know or not, but Dr. Atkins died today. He slipped and fell last week just after that NY snow storm :c(
********************************************
CRAZY- I sure am lucky!!!! I looove BJ. Saw them in Feb and they were great.
Dan is disgusted with me. He thinks I got a "thing" for Jon. Yeah, he's hot, but please....he's kinda married and he's somewhat of star 8-| MEN!!!
He thinks I should go to a different concert since I've already seen this concert. I don't care. I'm going. They can sing for me anytime.
********************************************
CHUM- If there are Bon Jovi Heads, I am defenitly one. I know this time I will bring my binoculars.
My seats are just...just past first base in the lower bowl. Yes, it's a a baseball field, where the tigers play.
Any who,...
That's "MY LIFE" lol 8-| i know, not funny.
Have a great day everyone.
Darlene :hippy:
sandielynne 04-17-03, 09:01 PM Well Darlene ~
It sounds like you are gearing up for a super good time at that concert. I never go to them things. I get claustrophobic in crowds like that. Gives me the creeps. I'd rather have a tarantula on me than sit in one of them places...........lol.
and that's the truththththhththhth
Sandie
you lucky dog
JBJ will be a well deserved treat
you deserve perks too !!!
I know you have earned them !!!!
I hope you have a great easter
let the kids eat all the chocolate
my sis gave me a great easter basket
one choc egg, one tiny choc bunny...and a two facial mud packs, toothbrush, and a movie hahahhahah
and other nice, non edible stuff
cool, i can indulge and not lose stride
you will do great
:hop: easter
luv ya
Peng
mcmarto 04-17-03, 10:23 PM Hey girl!
You sound so exciting!...Eeek...30 pounds is a lot...but you know what...I know you can do it!...You have been doing so well!...I did see the news report about Dr. Atkins...rather shocking the way life works!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend and a happy Easter!...I will be back on Sunday...mcmarto
fleureange 04-18-03, 04:02 PM April 18 2003
SANDIE- So does that mean you want a tarantula? LOL
Just thought I'd ask LOL
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
PENG- Smart chickie that I am, I haven't bought any chocolate for the kids yet. I'll buy it tomorrow. The bad thing is I have to buy them alot because the Easter Bunny hides it all over the house and the kids find it. We hide hard boiled too, but the kids love to find the chocolate.
I will definitly be freezing the junk this year. I must admit, the thought of chocolate in the house is doing nothing for me.
Your Easter basket sounds heavenly. I like the mud packs and the movie. What movie??? Do tell.
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
MC- I hope you're off having fun, but being good too ;)
I hope you are having a great holiday weekend.
I know 30lbs is alot, but if things pick up with my weight loss, I could just do it. Here's hoping.
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
Well, I'm off.
Have a great "Good" Friday.
Darlene :hippy:
I know you can do it! We are both gonna be looking good when we get together in June, right?
Lisrey ;)
fleureange 04-19-03, 01:42 AM LISREY- You got that right!!! We're gonna be two hot chicks. The envy of all the men LOL
Well, maybe not, but we will look nice and trim.:D
How goes your exercise minutes? I have to get my butt over to your journal.
Have a good Easter :hop:
Darlene :hippy:
fleureange 04-19-03, 10:36 PM April 19 2003
Hello everyone.
Easter Bunny will soon be here. My kids are excited. Got them lots of chocolates but they just aren't doing a thing for me.
Went shopping today. Got myself a nice 3 peice lounge outfit. Very nice and comfy. The price was dirt cheap and half price. I just love that. What I love even more is that it was only a 1X!!! Also go myself a new purse. I have a thing for purses LOL. Like to have a nice hip purse.
I feel restless. Like I'm waiting for something to happen. I think it may be the weather.
See, for those who don't know, I'm a weather buff. I love spring and summer storms. As bad as they are, I get a rush from them. I love tornados. I think I'd die if I ever saw one, and hate that they distroy peoples homes and lives, but still they facinate me.
So, every spring I track weather systems and brush up on my lingo from NOAA. I'm trying to teach myself to forecast thunderstorms. The science is so interesting to me.
When Bry-Anne goes to school full time, I'm taking a weather spotter class.
Got to go!!!
bye for now.
Darlene :hippy:
that sounds cool !!!
I would join you in that class if I could
I love storms too
maybe it is spring fever hitting you
hopefully it is not your storm senses
that is one thing i remember from living in sask as a kid... wild electrical storms
like you said...fascinating !!
I am so glad the chocolate bunnies have not attacked you !! they can be ruthless !!!!
i bet you look lovely in your new outfit and that is way more satisfying than eating
it is just easier to eat some days
I am glad you are pampering yourself in other ways
I have to work tomorrow and wanted to wish you a great Easter now
ps...looks like my oilers are toast now too :(
so who are we cheering for now? lol
GO OTTAWA GO !!!!!
Peng
Happy Easter Fleur!!!!
Have a great weekend Fleur, You will be a great weather woman!!!
mcmarto 04-20-03, 02:52 PM Oh gosh...interesting Fleur fact...likes tornadoes!...hahaha!
I love it when its cool and windy...like it is here today...it makes my hair look like an afro...but it feels so great!
You are doing great with those mins girl...I need to catch up!
hahaha!...Have fun today!
mcmarto
Hi Fleur!!! I hope you and the fam have a great Easter!!!!!!
mcmarto 04-23-03, 12:08 AM So how was your Easter?
How was your Monday?
How was your Tuesday?
Missing you Fleur...hope you are way too busy with planning your meals and exercising...and not anything terrible (like you got swept up by the tornado!)
Have a great Wednesday!
mcmarto
click your heels 3 times and get back here !!!!!!!!
Peng
stopping by to see how you are doing - hope everything is ok?
Jade :peace:
My New Journal Is Posted Here. (http://diettalk.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=292780#post292780)
fleureange 04-23-03, 10:41 AM Hi everyone, Sorry I've been away.
I had a terrible time at Easter.
The night before, Dan cheated. He ate a chocolate bunny.
The next day... Easter.
Put all that chocolate in front of me, and I was ok, Then went to my mom's and stood up to the cakesSSS and goodies.
Got home and with all that playing in my head, I ate. And ate. And ate.
Today is my first day. back on track. I know it will take my body about 3-5 days to get back to burning fat. A whole week lost. :c(
No matter, I'm back now.
Thanks everyone for missing me. That helps me so much.
Well, I quit my job today.
I walked in to yet another 2 long page note about what I didn't do last week and how it wasn't good enough. With more instructions on how and what to do this week.
I was so mad. i worked my ass off to make sure I did everything she wanted and I made sure it was done right.
She comes home with a white glove.
So, I read this note, and walked out. Just like that. Everyone is amazed I lasted a year and a half.
I don't move furniture, I don't wash garages, and I don't do windows. These are only some of the things she expects, and these are NOTHING!!!
I clean sinks and toilets with a tooth brush and q-tips ...on and on.
Anyway, I feel good about it, but I'm not looking forward to confronting her and giving her back her key.
So, that's the news in my life.
Mc, I hope you caught up on the mins, but I have done none!!!
I will however, get off my butt today.
Darlene :hippy:
Dar -- good for you. Some bosses can be unreasonable --- I try to be one of the good guys. Take care, enjoy your time and don't stress.
ps - I fell off the wagon at Easter too.:(
fleureange 04-24-03, 09:43 AM April 24.
LEE- sorry to hear you fell off the wagon too. i hope you've picked yourself back up and got back on. The good thing is the wagon stops and waits for you. You just have to muster the energy to get up. Yet another good thing is this site. It's a big helping hand that pulls you up. At least that's how it is for me.
****************************************************
I did well eating yesterday. No more cheating. The only one cheated was me.
Going to get back to busness. I have a challenge to win. Can't let MC and Lisrey get the upper hand on me. LOL
I'm kinda nervous to have to face this lady. I'm sure she won't be happy. She has trained her sucker for a year and a half and now I've up and quit with no notice.
I plan to tell her I just don't think I'm the person for the job and that I feel she would be better off with someone else. My problem is, to explain why I gave no notice and not blame her. I want it to seem as it's my "fault" Like I'm not the right person. I don't want to have to tell her she's a nut with a mental problem. I don't want to go there. Any other job I'd have given notice for. So, how can I tell her why I didn't give any?? Any ideas??
Well, I'm off the do more work.
Going to...
Eat breakfast
wake Dan up (8-| OH JOY)
serve him his breakie
get showered and dressed.
Hope to get groceries
bring Erin her lunch which she forgot yet again
clean my house
laundry
work out
Nap???????? LOL
All this before the kids come home at 3:30
Till later
Darlene :hippy:
Hi Fleur!
Sounds like you had a busy day. I think honesty is the best policy with your former employer. Tell her you are sorry that she was unsatisfied with your work, that you were doing your best, and that if it wasn't good enough for her, you felt you had to quit. You can leave the part about her being a nut case out, LOL! :D
Are you going to be looking for new work? Or waiting to see about your move first? Good luck with whatever you decide. :)
How are you doing on the challenge minutes??? I have 550 now... didn't get too much in this week, wasn't feeling great. I am back at it again though, so watch out!
Lisrey :flower:
fleureange 04-24-03, 10:29 PM Hi Lisrey.
I plan to be honest with her, but I just find it hard to explain my leaving without notice. I really hate that. It's not something I would normally do.
I've decided not to work for now. Dan wanted me to quit for some time. He hates that I only worked one day a week, but with Bry-Anne's school schedule, it's hard to do much else.
Once we move, I may go back dpending on where we move. I may just wait till she goes to school full time which wont be for another year. Next year she is also every other day.
Thanks for reminding me about my mins!!!! I got out of the habit again. I'm not sure how many I have 500-600 I think. But it's time to get off my butt and start moving again.
I just can't let you catch me LOL
****************************************************
I watched Oprah today. What an inspiration. Can you imagine losing over 300lbs? in a year?????
I know I too can be a success. I know we all can.
I tested today for ketones and I'm happy to say I have traces. I know it will be a few days till I see I'm burning high, but it's enough just to see something happening again after my blunder.
I have some pounds to lose if I'm to win this challenge.
Well, I'm off to read journals
Have a great night
Darlene :hippy:
fleureange 04-25-03, 01:31 PM Taking some much needed me time to post a ..venting type message.
Today is Friday.
It is a PA day at school so I have all the kids home with me.
Reilly is having a little friend spend the night. A second friend wants him to come over. That's a no go as we were waiting on the first to arrive. So friend #2 comes here. Now I have 2 girls, 2 boys.
I wanted to go for a walk, but I'm home bound because my brother is coming at some point today. I have to wait for him.
Tomorrow starts my friends yard sale which I have some things going in. I asked Dan to bring them over, but he has not time and I can't drive with the trailer attached. (we needt the trailer to bring the junk)
Tomorrow I'll have to get up early, get this stuff down the road, and set up for the yard sale.
I have to bring both boys into town for 10AM for a meeting for their first communion. Only a half hour long. Takes me that long to drive there and back, so I'll be stuck in town for the duration.
My mom will be coming over tomorrow at some point to hem Erin's pants for the first communion.
I need to clean my house for Sunday's open house.
Reilly's friend will be picked up at the meeting by his mom.
Erin's friend will then be picked up to spen the night.
In between all this, I need to be at my friends to help with the yard sale.
Sunday. (deep breath)
Get up, clean more for open house.
Yet another meeting at 1PM. Also at 1PM is the open house, till 3PM.
Did I mention there will be my three kids, Erin's friend, my two dogs and myself in the van???
Erin's friend will spend most of Sunday with us because her parents will be away at a wedding in Toronto. (Please no SARS)
Let's not forget i still have to be at the yard sale
Now......Here is the kicker!!!
Dan's brother is moving back in with us. Seems his realationship is over.
I don't know how long for this time. But I hope it's not long. Last time it was for a few weeks that turned into 6 months.
Help!!!!!
:c(
Ok, I'm done'
have a great day. I sure will try.
Darlene :hippy:
mcmarto 04-25-03, 09:03 PM Gosh woman...can you get any busier!
Glad to hear you are back on plan...and exercising...oh gosh...I need to get by arse in gear...I need to catch up to you two!
Don't lose any kids this weekend!...hahaha...Good luck with the open house!
Have a nice weekend!
mcmarto
sandielynne 04-25-03, 09:08 PM Hello Darlene,
I am thanking my lucky stars right now that I am not you. I'd be pulling my hair out by the roots just thinking about all you are meantioning for this weekend. My word woman, I hope you survive it all.............lol.
I wanted to wish you a great weekend, now I just hope you manage to keep your sanity. Good luck lady!!
Sandie
fleureange 04-26-03, 02:47 PM April 26 2003
MC- Well, we've done the kid exchange, and haven't lost any yet. LOL
My mom has been here to hem Erin's pants.
Lunches are made. Dan is gone to work
Cleaning has started........ ;)
Been by the yard sale and so far I've made $50 bucks.
Now it's back to cleaning.
****************************************************
SANDIE- I hope you're right. I hope I don't lose my sanity along the way this weekend.
It's not looking good though!
****************************************************
Not much else left to tell right now.
I had best get back to work.
Darlene :hippy:
fleureange 04-26-03, 11:26 PM Haaaaaa. Finaly get to sit down. I feel like I could fall asleep right here at my puter, that's how tired I am.
Got much work done today.
Final yard sale tally for today... $70 not bad.
I sure hope our open house turns out good this time. It will be our third and nobody came to the first two, We'll see.
Didn't get in any countable exercise today, but I sure have been going. I was on my feet all day. Up and down the stairs and so on. Like I said, I got a work out, but not the kind I would count in our challenge.
Lucky for MC and Lisrey LOL ;)
Hope you all had a wonderful Saturday, and an even better Sunday.
(hope to get to other journals sometime tomorrow or Monday. Life has just been so crazy. Please forgive me)
Darlene :hippy:
chumlette 04-26-03, 11:34 PM So, I'm catching up on journals tonight...and I see you've quit your job. Good for you, b/c you've had so much stress over it! I'm with Lisrey on this one, be honest, say that you do not usually quit with no notice, but that you felt she was unreasonable in her expectations. Perhaps she will learn and not treat the next person as badly? Oh well, obviously, I'm not in my right mind. Sigh. Or maybe you could mail her the key with a letter instead. Send it registered. Kinda like a Dear John letter.
And I must know, since I missed Oprah. How did someone lose 300 lbs. in ONE YEAR???
fleureange 04-27-03, 07:43 AM April 27 2003
CHUM- I agree. I need to be honest. I guess I don't have the guts to just write a letter. I know she'll call me when she comes home form Tuscon. If not, I'll drop her key off to her on Wed. I feel bad that it has ended this way, but I'm not there to be used and abused.
So why do I feel so guilty? I know I'm right.
The guy from Oprah lost his weight by eating little carbs and fat. He ate only poultry, fish, fruits and veggies. He drank watet and exercised.
He looked good too. You would never have known he was ever over 500lbs
****************************************************
Well......I have finally broken my plateau. I lost another pound. This is my first pount to count in our challenge. The first of many I might add ;)
Well, I'm off to get the last minute cleaning done before our open house this afternoon.
Take care and have a great Sunday.
Darlene :hippy:
Darlene -- Congrats on the loss breaking that plateau is hard.
Hopefully your on a roll again now. Sounds like you've had a busy weekend -- I hope the open house goes well.
Have a great Sunday!!
fleureange 04-28-03, 12:30 AM Thanks Lee.
The weekend is over and I am thankful.
I hope you're right, I hope I'm on a role. I know I've been good and have had no cheats since my Easter one. I'm back to burnin up the fat.
Had that open house today. We only had one couple come through but I guess they seem interested. I guess that's good. They spent alot of time here, and our guy feels good about it. He's getting in touch with them tomorrow to see what's up.
Here's hoping.
Well, it's late, and I'm sooo tired. I hope to be back reading journals tomorrow.
Darlene :hippy:
mcmarto 04-28-03, 01:09 AM Hey Fleur!
Glad to hear you lost another pound!...Woohoo!
Keep up the good work...oh...and get some rest!...hahaha!
mcmarto
fleureange 04-28-03, 07:31 PM April 28 2003
MC- No rest for me. Got to walk walk walk. I walked 30 mins today. I would love to do some aerobics, but those days are gone for now due to BIL staying here. The basement is his bedroom. Oh well, I can still walk.
Thanks -- about the pound. It's only one, but it's a big one for me. I know there's another around the corner :)
****************************************************
Cleaned the house again today. Nice to keep it up. Got in my walk. Went to my friends for coffee, and after the kids got home from school, I took them for haircuts.
Reilly now has his blonde tips back. He def needed it cut. Tomorrow is his first reconciliation and Sunday he makes his first communion. Big shindig.
We are planing a small party for him afterward on Sunday. There will be cold meats, cheeses, buns for sandwiches (which I won't have) deviled eggs, garden salad and scoobie doo salad (don't ask LOL, needless to say it has noodles in it and I won't have any of that either.) And Reilly has requested chocolate cake. Again, not for me.
So, with an Atkin's friendly menu, I should be just fine.
Well, that's all for now.
I'm off to try to read a few journals.
Darlene :hippy:
seems like forEVER since we have chatted !!!!
you had the week ! are you adjusting to your new tenent yet?
ok...you know i want to hear about the scooby salad hahahhahahhaha
he will be such a little man on sunday
man time flys huh
I am glad you are feeling more and more control
I will let you know what the trainer has to say about me tomorrow...
have a wonderful tuesday buddy

Fleur,
Congrats on the pound off, WhooHoo!!!! That is great.
Sounds like you will do just fine since you are already planning what you will eat at those special services. That is a great way to do it.
Keep up the good work on your walking. :ex: Where is the walking smilies anyways!!!
And what's a reconciliation?
Hi Dar!!! How's the Low Carb thing going. I blew it this week
I was helping out in another department and found myself eating out and eating carbs while we discussed problems. I know realize when stressed, nervous depressed I go for the carbs. I'll have to work on a plan to get past that. I hope things are going well and you have a great day tomorrow
fleureange 04-30-03, 07:07 PM April 30 2003
PENGII- Ok, I'll tell you all about scoobie doo salad. Simply called that because that's the name of the noodles. They are spiral shaped.
To that we add hidden valley ranch dressing, red, green and yellow peppers, scallions, purple onion, radish, broccoli and cauliflower. It's very yummy, but lots of carbs.
CRAZY- I hope my menu plan goes off without a hitch. Sunday is comming fast.
fleureange 04-30-03, 07:19 PM KILO- Reconciliation is a Catholic celebration other wise know as first confession. The kids go one by one to confess their sins to the priest.
I too went to confession last night, and now I'm sinless LOL:D
********************************************
LEE- I'm doing well low carbing. The odd time I feel like I want to eat carbs, but that is only when there are many factors involved. Stress, and being totally surrounded by them is def a hard situation to handle.
I goofed too around Easter. I gained 5lbs in 3days. I'm happy to say those 5lbs are gone and they took one more with them.
Since I've been back on track, I've been doing well.
i hope you rebound again soon.
Don't loss faith.
********************************************
Stormy day today.
I worked my last day today. These nice old folks I worked for were so sweet, they gave my son two bikes they had around. Now my son has a bike that he can ride. his other bikes are either to big or to small.
Got home just as a big storm hit. It wasn't a bad storm, just lasted quite a long while.
Sun came out for a few hours, now they say to watch for the real nasty stuff.
Still haven't heard from the realitor about the couple who toured the house. In this case, no news is not good news.
I got my Bon Jovi tickets today-- yahooooo!
My BIL is still with us and it looks like he will for quite some time.
Looks like Friday will be the kids last day of school for some time. The teachers have started a work to rule, which means they come to school 15 early and leave 15 min after class. They labour folks consider that a strike. So as of Monday, the school board will lock out the teaches and close all the schools.
Lucky me, it's March break all over again.
Well, looks like the storms have come back. I had best get off the puter for now.
Darlene :hippy:
mcmarto 04-30-03, 07:22 PM Hey Fleur!
Long time no visit!
Glad to hear you are doing great...and that you are sinless!...hahaha!
I hope to chat with you soon!...I am in a slump...trying to work my way out of it...still waiting to hear if the DH got the job...I am keeping my fingers crossed since its the only place that has called in two weeks!...Eeek!
Have a great night!
mcmarto
chumlette 05-01-03, 11:24 AM I love storms.
Hooray for Bon Jovi tickets!!!
fleureange 05-02-03, 05:33 PM May 2 2003
MC- not sinless anymore LOL I didn't post yesterday!
I hope you have heard more about your DH's job. At least I hope it's his ;) I'll have to check out your journal for updates.
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
CHUM- Oh yeah baby!!! :D
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
WEll, not much has really happened in the last two days.
I did decide to cut back my "extra" foods. I am now sticking to meats, butter, mayo, my 3 cups of veggies and eggs. I also eat carb and sugar free jello as a treat. Going to try to stay away from all other carbs. I just don't feel the weight is moving fast enough considering how well I'm sticking to this program. It must be the extras that are nailing me.
Lisrey, Mc and I will be having our first report day for our challenge very soon.
Well, nothing else new around this joint. Hope you are all leading more exciting, (not stressful) lives.:)
Darlene :hippy:
mcmarto 05-02-03, 05:38 PM Did you have to remind me?
I need to get my arse in gear...fast...Lisrey has over 1,000 mins so far...I bet you do too!
Well...have a great weekend...don't workout!...hahaha...just kidding!
You are doing great on the plan...keep up the good work!
mcmarto
Well, yeah, I have a lot of exercise minutes, but since the challenge started, I haven't lost any weight! When is that first report day, anyway??
Sounds like you're still doing great Fleur! You know, our date for our summer get together is rapidly approaching! We will need to figure out what we'd like to do. I did get the day off! :)
Lisrey :flower:
...I am Dar less
lol
I sure miss seeing you the last few days...our scheds are on a dif switch i guess
you are such a smile in my day !!
I hope you have a great weekend dar
hope to catch up with you at some point
if not, just know i luv ya...and i feel safe knowing you are kicking enough fat ass for us both hahahhaha
Peng
fleureange 05-03-03, 11:07 PM May 3 2003
MC- My stats to report will not be that great. Not as good as they should anyway.
I'v lost a big pound so far. Lisrey is kicking my butt in mins too.
****************************************************
Like said to MC, you're kicking butt in mins. I have about 700ish, that's it. I still have 30 mins from the other day to report.
I'm so looking forward to meeting up with you. I thought we could take a nice walk on the river front. We could either picnic or hit one of the restaurants down town. Not sure what else to do. There's always the casino. I've never been there. I'm not much of a gambler, I like a sure bet LOL.
At any rate, we'll find something to do and we'll have fun.
****************************************************
Peng- I'm so glad we have finally hooked up. Seems everytime I come online, your on, but off walking the boys. LOL.
LOL Poor MC, i was typing you a message, and it popped up on MC's screen. LOL She was trying to figure out what the hell I was talking about.
MC- I'm just a crazy lady, but don't tell Lisrey, cause maybe if she knew i was crazy, she wouldn't meet up with me LOL.
****************************************************
Well, I have to go cook to get ready for Reilly's first communion tomorrow.
should be fun.
Have a great Sunday.
Darlene :hippy:
mcmarto 05-04-03, 09:54 AM You are not crazy girl...just insane!
Hahahaha...that is so great that you and Lisrey are meeting up!...Greeeeeat...now you two will rack up exercise mins together!...hahaha!
Thanks for the chat yesterday!!!...Did you and Pengii ever get it together ???...Hope so!
Have a nice day today...it is cold and dreary here...and I am sick...so sick!...Off to do my HW...
mcmarto
fleureange 05-04-03, 08:42 PM May 4 2003
MC- No, Pengii and I are still trying to work out the bugs (as you could tell LOL) sorry about that :o I'm hoping we can get it together soon.
Oh no, you have a cold? I hope you feel better soon. I hate being sick. I mean, who really likes it right?
****************************************************
Well, today was Reilly's big day. Dan turned down 12 hours at double time at work to be there.
I told him Reilly had to be at church at 12:45, and I wanted to be there at 12:30 but NOOOOO, we got there at the last min and we had to sit on the side (our church has an addition by the alter off to one side) This area is raised and we couldn't see a thing. Not one little thing. I was really so upset, I nearly cried. I wanted to see my son make his first communion.
Any way, Dan got it on video at least.
Afterword, we had our meal. I am very proud to say I stayed on my program even while facing chocolate cake.
Also, I got up on the scale and I've lost yet another pound. Even with TOM.
Going to have to change my stats. Thats two pounds now toward the challenge, 12 lbs on Atkins and 27lbs since Jan 1.
Well, looks like I'll have my kids home for a while. The teaches will be locked out as of midnight tonight. Yippy!
Well, I'm off before I get kicked off.
Have a great week
Darlene :hippy:
GREAT about losing 1 lb with TOM - that is :super:
Jade
fleureange 05-06-03, 06:45 PM May 6 2003
Jade- Thanks hon, that means alot to me.
****************************************************
Hi everyone.
Feels like I haven't been here in ages. I've just been to busy doing nothing, if you know what I mean.
I've been right on plan food wise, but exercise has dropped off. I had better get my buns in gear.
Not much else new around here.
So I'll catch you later.
Darlene :hippy:
Hi Darlene!!! Just wanted to pop in and say hello. I see you've really been busy. I hope all is well.
Hey, Fleur, hope you got outside today with the gorgeous weather we had! I walked this morning & was SO SAD that I had to go to work at noon... I kept thinking THIS was the day I should have gotten to golf. Wow! It's really spring!
Lisrey :spring:
fleureange 05-07-03, 01:00 PM May 7 2003
LEE- I'm so glad you popped in. Yeah, I feel like a chicken running around with it's head cut off at times. I have my kids home from school now and it could be for the rest of the year. I just hope the lock out/ strike is settled soon.
****************************************************
LISREY- Oh you better believe I got my butt out there. Didn't walk though, but was just outside enjoying the warm air and the sun.
Did you get that storm really bad the other day? Seem that here all those storms pass right by. I can see black sky, lighting and hear the thunder, but over my head is clear blue sky with the sun shining bright. I just don't get it. We miss all the good stuff.
Mind you, just because I like bad storms, doesn't mean I'd ever want a tornado!!! No way. I once seen a dust devil on a clear blue day. It was over 200' in the air and if there had been a single cloud around, I would have passed out. As it was, I felt all blood draining from my face. I was scared ****less LOL. Big chicken that I am hehehehe.
So you like to golf? I have never been. Guess that's something I need to try.
I hope you got to enjoy the day before work at least.
****************************************************
Like I was saying to Lee, the kids are home for the 3rd day. It doesn't look good. I'm really thinkin of pulling them from this school board and going to another. I'll wait till the end of the year to do it though. I really hope I dont have them home till June- no September I guess.:( I think I would go mad. As much as I love them, I need some time away from them.
Doesn't it figure, today is the first Wed I don't have to work. I'm free from that now.
Well, I'm so proud of myself. I got up on the scale, and I'm down another 3 lbs. That's a total of 5 for our challenge. Now, just got to get my butt moving and exercise 24/7 to catch up to Lisrey LOL
Have a great day
Darlene :hippy:
fleureange 05-07-03, 06:54 PM I am so happy.
I had a nap earlier. Dan was sleeping because he's on midnights.
He woke up and grabed my hip. He actually put his head up and said "wow, what's that? I've never felt that before" It was my hip bone.
Small things like that make me happy and I know it's all worth it.
Darlene :hippy:
Awesome job on the three more pounds gone! Hooray for hip bones! I am sure you are delighted. That is GREAT. I am sooo happy for you!
No, the weather here was quite stormy, but it was over pretty quick. We had a tornado warning, but nothing happened with it. I was glad I wasn't working at the time -- we have to make all the library users go to a safe area and wait, and they hate it. We take books and puzzles for the kids, but the adults get all stir-crazy and want to leave. I guess Monday night they had to wait like that for about 1/2 hour.
Good luck with your school lock-out. Yikes! When would your kids normally be getting out of school? Early in June?
Lisrey :spring:
fleureange 05-08-03, 12:20 AM LISREY- The kids get out of school at the end of June. I hope they do go back soon.
Regardless, we have a date and if I need to get them a sitter, so be it.
I'm going to look into a few things for our day out. I have a few ideas, but I'll check them out before telling you about them. I'd like it to be a surprise ;)
I saw you had a tornado warning. I have to watch Wayne and Monroe since I am across from where they meet. I can see Fermi II from here, which is in Monroe.
Environment Canada sucks. That's our national weather service. A few days before your warning, there was a big storm that came though at night. There was a tornado just east of Windsor and we had not warnings nor did we even have a sever t-storm watch. Nothing.
When it comes to severe weather, I watch Detroit local news. Now they have there act together!
I'm so glad the storm passed you by with no harm.
Darlene :hippy:
Dar -- That's great!!!! Congrats on the loss and Dan's discovery of the Hip bone. What else is he discovering? lol:o Just kidding!!
I only wish someone could discover mine......single sucks but right now it's giving me the freedom and time to focus on me and my priority of a healthy lifestyle change. I can't believe your kids may be done already -- so what happens for them in the fall.
Will they automatically advance to the next grade. If they don't I'd be furious. Take Care!
mcmarto 05-08-03, 01:01 AM Oh wow....the teachers are still locked out?
Poor Fleur!...Put them to work ... at least you can have a clean house...hahaha!
I am so proud of you for staying on plan...and losing so much weight this year...you are doing awesome!
Now get back to that exercise!
You can do it!
mcmarto
fleureange 05-08-03, 10:53 AM May 8 2003
LEE- LOL you're so funny:D
I heard that if they don't finish their government testing (grades 2,3,6,7) then they will have to repeat the year.
I will now have that happen!!
I am working with the kids to keep them caught up.
I will def pull them out of this system if it goes till summer vacation.
I sure wish I were single sometimes. Would be nice just to cook for me and not an army :D
****************************************************
MC-You better believe I'm putting them to work. They think they can stay up late and sleep in till noon. WRONG!
I get them up early, we clean the house, they play, we work on school work, they play some more.....
I sure don't want them thinking this is a vacation. By the time I'm done with them, they will be glad to go back to school, and dread summer vacation LOL ;)
****************************************************
Today I plan to....
clean the house
clean out my fridge
get groceries
make MC proud - get my buttt moving!
cook cook cook.
Well, I'm off to get to my list.
Have a great day
Darlene :hippy:
fleureange 05-08-03, 06:45 PM I'm so tired.
I got my groceries
I gave the key back to that crazy lady I worked for.
I made dinner and Dan's lunch.
I walked 45 mins while it's still nice enough.
Now I'm ready for a nap. I can hardly keep my eyes open.
I still have to go pick Reilly up at his friends and Dan has my van. I get to drive Dan's death trap.
It's a saturn. I have to start it in neutral, have to reverse in park and have to have the emergency brake on to park. Oh, and if it doesn't want to move while in drive, I just have to wiggle the stick! I hate that thing.
Well, I'm going to try to get a nap.
Have a good night
Darlene :hippy:
Yay! You got your butt moving! 45 mins of walking while very tired and cooked-out. Good for you, Fleur.
Hope you slept well.
fleureange 05-09-03, 05:12 PM May 9 2003
KILO- I slept only a half hour, but I slept like a log.
I was just so tired.
****************************************************
Well, it's report day.
I racked up 775 mins of exercise and lost 5 lbs.
My goal for next month's report- lose more weight, exercise more and drink more water.
got to scoot.
have a good one
Darlene :hippy:
Yay for you!! I have more exercise minutes than you do, but I've only lost one pound since we started the challenge. Personally, I think pounds should count more than minutes. But I'm not sure how that would work -- and then you'd SURELY beat me! :D
Hope today was fun -- I thought it was supposed to rain all day, but after a soggy morning, it was gorgeous! Sounds like the rest of the rain is waiting for my day off...
Lisrey :spring:
Wow Fleur, 5 pounds that is just great. Good workin'!!!!!
mcmarto 05-10-03, 08:45 AM mc-fleur-rey challenge update...
No pounds lost...and only 503 minutes!
I vow to kick your arse this month!
hahaha!
mcmarto
mcmarto 05-10-03, 08:54 AM OH!...Did you notice?...
mc-fleur-rey...sounds just like mcflurry...Now don't get tempted to go out and have one...heeheehee!
mcmarto
Congrats on the loss -- this is great!!!!!!
Congratulations on the loss and on the mind-boggling number of minutes of exercise! Woohoo! :tongue:arty:
I went three pages back in your journal and could not find your post about the lady who was so hard too work for.......sigh I must have over looked it.
So are you done with the whole cleaning idea or just taking a break for now?
GOOD for you about what your doing with your kids!
:super: on exercise and weight loss! :cheer:
VERY proud of you !
Jade
fleureange 05-11-03, 12:38 AM May 10 2003
LISREY- We are all losers:D /winners.
I'm just happy to be focusing on something positive and it's because of you guys I'm able to do that.
Congrats on the mins. Those numbers are kick ass girl!!
****************************************************
MC- Mc-fleur-rey does indeed sound like Mc Flurry. That was the first thing I noticed LOL Gee, wonder why hehehe
Congrats on the mins. Any mins are better then none. It's good for us no matter what.
As to you beating me (I'll only speak for myself here ) this month, I say bring it on girl friend LOL :D
****************************************************
CRAZY- Thanks my friend. Took a while to come off, but it IS coming off. One pound at a time.
****************************************************
LEE- Thanks. I really couldn't do it without you guys!!!!
****************************************************
BADGER- Thanks for stopping in. Thanks. This challenge sure is helping get my mins in. Without it, I'd be the lazy couch potato I've always been.
****************************************************
JADE- Man that lady had some mental problems. I had to clean her sink fixtures with Q-tips and scrub between her tiles with a tooth brush. She gave me crap because a screw fell into one of her vents and when she went to fetch it, there was dust in her vent. I had no idea I was to clean IN her vents!
The woman doesn't believe in spring cleaning. It is done every week, and I'm not joking!!
No, I'm done cleaning houses. At least for now, as in a few years. Once Bry-Anne goes to school full time (year after next) I may go back to it. No hurry here.
****************************************************
Had a good day today.
Woke early to loud thunder. Man, it was loud.
They say we'll be getting more over night and this stuff could rock us a bit. I hate bad weather at night. Can't see what's coming.
Well, tomorrow is Mothers Day.
I plan to both get up early to clean my house and do laundry, and sleep in late and do nothing (but exercise)
Now, that doesn't make sense.
How can I do both???
I guess we'll just see how it goes.
I usually get all my flowers for Mothers Day. I spend the day planting. I think we'll wait till next weekend for two reasons. The weather sounds wet, and I haven't gotten my gardens weeded yet. I'll need to get to it this week so I can get the flowers next weekend.
Looks like the kids might finally get back to school on Tuesday. Thank goodness. I love em but, they need, no... I need peace.
Lord help me come summer vacation. All they do is bicker.
I hope the deal goes through.
Well, time to be off.
Have a happy Mothers Day ladies. Remember, it's your day. Don't forget to pamper yourself, even if nobody else does.
Darlene :hippy:
Darlene, I want to take a few minutes and share some thoughts with you - I hope you do not mind my making them public.
You have grown SO much since I first met you here at DT!
I can remember this lady who was pretty quiet, not at all sure about herself and had many unresolved issues within herself as well as in her life.
She did not see ANY way she could lose her weight or come to peace about her issues.
BUT she so badly wanted both to happen.
She decided to be brave and shared in her journals her pain, her confusion, her anger, her thoughts, her fears - she shared them with us as well as with herself.
She would dig deep within herself and was determined to be honest with what she found.
I so badly wanted to help her and just give her all the confidence that i just KNEW was inside of her to heal and grow the way she wanted to.
There were times I think she scared herself at some of the things she was facing.
She would back off for a little while - very short periods of time.
Then would return to her inner search again with a quest!
Always being honest with herself.
Now I see this same woman who is losing weight and telling her hubby she WILL go to a concert - even if he does not want to as she DESERVES it, she quits a job when being treated wrongly and in general stands up for herself most of the time.
I know the she still faces some inner fears and is also still unsure of herself at time - but she now also KNOWS she is OK and will make it!
I just wanted to take this time to tell you how proud I am of you - not too many people are strong enough to face their inner selves and make the needed changes.
I am honored to have been allowed to watch you grow so strong :rose:
Happy Mother's Day Darlene!
Jade
fleureange 05-11-03, 09:28 AM :c( :c( :c(
Thank you Jade.
I'm bawling like a baby hehehe
Funny, I was just pondering the same thing last night and again this morning.
I have grown stronger. I still have far to go, but I'm getting there by leaps and bounds.
I am honored to have such great friends here at DT. People who are sincere and supportive. People who do not judge and who are aways there to listen and to give advice.
I am truly blessed.
I never had a sister growing up, and now I feel as though I have many. Someone to share my heart with.
For that, I thank you.
Happy Mothers Day to you too Jade. I hope you have a great day with your family.
Darlene :hippy:
chumlette 05-11-03, 09:58 AM Happy Mothers Day, Fleur!!!
fleureange 05-11-03, 12:54 PM Thanks so much Chum, and same to you my friend.
I have to take a min to tell you all the surprise we got this morning.
It is truly Mother's Day.
Erin's guinea pig had 3 babies this morning.
We had no idea she was pregnant.
We are all so excited.
Erin named them Butterscotch, Carmel and Fudgie
Have a great day
Darlene :hippy:
Wow! What a great Mother's Day story! So if the guinea pig is the Mom, is your daughter thinking of herself as the grandma? :o
I agree with what Jade said about your growth here, Fleur. You seem to have so much more confidence and flair now. I'm very proud of you & so happy we've met here. Less than a month now until we will really meet!
Lisrey *
mcmarto 05-12-03, 12:52 AM Oh my gosh...it is a mother's day indeed...little babies at home!...hahaha!
Well...it was so windy here last night...bad...up to 50mph...a large branch broke off the tree across the street and put a dent in my car...not a huge one...but still a dent...I am annoyed!
Oh well............hope you had a great day...since you are a great mother!
mcmarto
fleureange 05-12-03, 10:36 AM May 12 2003
I had the worst Mothers Day ever.
It started out great. My kids made me breakfast. I had 2 boiled eggs in the fridge that they gave me, as well as toast, veggie crackers and cheese. So cute.
They make me cards all by themselves.
Then Dan woke up!
He *****ed at me or ignored me all day.
Again, made me feel useless.
I got nothing from him. I know I was going to get my flowers to plant and the weather was bad. But.... since he *****ed about the house being upside down- for a week now- I decided to spend Mothers Day cleaning. For 12 hours that's what I did.
I even had to cook dinner. I was so upset I made it for everyone else and I went to my room to cry.
I know now what has been staring me in the face for years. I do not have unconditional love. I only get it when others feel I deserve it. I then try so hard to get it to feel like I deserve it.
I still am FEELING this way. I KNOW it isn't true, but it's something I need to work on.
At any rate, i am deeply hurt. I have been feeling unappreciated lately, and this was just the topper.
There was no argument I could use to defend myself. Dan is an expert at changing things around to suit him. So, I just give up.
Today he is still not talking to me.
Oh, as if life is not hard enough, he is off till next week on vacation.
Oh and he quit smoking today!!
God help me.
JADE- your words helped me to get through the day yesterday. You don't know how much I relied on them over and over.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You saved me from sinking even lower.
LISREY- I can't wait till we meet. The kids are back at school today so I won't need a sitter after all.
MC- Was very windy here too. The waves on the lake were something else.
All my patio furniture blew over, even the heavy stuff.
There were two kids who were nearly killed by falling tree limbs here on our little street. That was two kids at two different times.
It was just crazy. Today is still windy, but not as bad.
Well, since Dan will be home this week, I can see I won't be posting much. I'll try went I can
I will stay strong!
Luv you all
Darlene :hippy:
chumlette 05-12-03, 10:38 AM Keep your chin up, Fleur. Don't let your meanie DH drive you to eating badly and lounging. You are a great person and work your buttocks off. Just focus on what is good for YOU. I'll be thinking about you...
:tongue:rotest: :gflower:
fleureange 05-12-03, 08:10 PM Thanks Chum.
It got real bad today. He threatened divorce and he did it in front of the kids.
What he wants is June Cleaver. Always smiling and meeting all of Wards needs before he knows he needs anything.
Doesn't matter what I do, I will never be good enough no matter how hard I try.
I try to tell him that I need equality but he just goes on and on about the house and how i don't do the simple things he asks.
It's true, I don't take care of many things like phone calls he wants me to make and such. I feel he should be making the calls he wants not me.
And he never asks. Never.
Dar do this. I need this done. Do that.
I'm sick of it. Never ask, never please, just DO
He treats me like a child.
He even tells me he's tired of my back talk, or my "lip"
Sounds like something you'd say to a sassy child.
He can talk to me in what ever tone he wants, say what he wants. I'm not allowed and when I do it any way, the argument is my fault becaue I'm mouthing off to him.
:(
I just dont know how to build my self esteem- safely.
I feel I can, I want to, but I'm blocked at every turn by his foot coming down on me.
Everytime I try to talk to him, he turns things around.
He had nerve to say to me my weight has bothered him for years and I haven't lost a pound.
OK, i'm crying again.
I feel so alone and hopelss.
I just want this pain in my heart to stop hurting. The lump in my throat is killing me too.
How can I be who he wants me to be? How can I change what I am? How can I stay the same and get him to ease off? How can I get him to understand and accept me?
Is there any way to be in the middle? and happy?
Darlene :c(

Darlene: I don't know you very well but her is my two cents...I have kind of been there done that with my ex husband.....From what I read it is abuse....now if you are not in a position to get out of the situation...just let it roll off your back...he seems to be kind of a sick self centered shallow individual...Please do not let it get to you...You are a great person...I can tell by just reading your notes. You have all of us here. I will listen to you just pm me if you need to and if I can do something to help please let me know I am a good listener.
Hugs
Louise
Hi, Fleur. I'm sorry you're so upset! Didn't I ask you awhile back if you'd done the enneagram personality typing before? And I thought & you decided that indeed you were a "9"? A lot of the things you hinted at in your post reminded me bigtime of your 9-ness. Here are some snippets of the 9 description. I wonder if looking at them will help you any?
********************************************
Type Nine: The Mediator
Lost Essential Quality: UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, wherein everyone is of equal importance, belonging, and regard.
Compensating Belief: The world makes you unimportant and/or requires that you blend in.
Attention/Coping Strategy: Forgetting yourself and seeking belonging. Getting pulled away from personal priorities by external claims and priorities.
Trap: Seeking outside yourself for comfort and harmony.
Driving Energy: An INERTIA (SLOTH) toward yourself. Energy going into other people and many substitutes for your own priorities.
Avoidance: Conflict and discomfort by going along to get along, hence not getting dismissed.
Strengths: Excellent mediator, understanding, caring and supportive of others, adaptive.
Paradox: Neglecting yourself in pursuit of comfort produces discomfort.
Path of Development
• Make self important.
• Set own boundaries, limits, priorities.
• Love self as well as others.
• Accept discomfort and change as part of life.
Ultimate task: Reclaiming unconditional love for yourself and a sense of importance equal to that for all others.

Hope this is helpful and not just a lot of blah-blah-blah for you right now. Here is a  if the latter is the case -- maybe that will help more! Take care & feel better!
Lisrey :x
I hope you had a reason to smile today
I love ya tons !!!!

Dar -- I'm so sorry things are so rough. Just remember that you are the most important thing and you need to look after yourself and love yourself. People who try and constantly knock others down are jealous and trying to cope with their own insecurities.
That's sad that they don't love themselves enough to love others.
Stay strong my friend and do whatever it takes to make you happy and fulfilled. Realize this is his problem and let roll off your back.
We love you Dar -- focus on you!!!!!!
I can sadly so relate to what you are saying....sigh
Different behavior but some end result - me feeling worthless and hurt - when i talk to my hubby about anything I know ahead of time he will not remember it - because he ignores me. I always have to say things to him 3 - 5 times.
He will not carry his load around here - and he does not thank me for anything I do.
He never pays me a complement and oh the list goes on......
but I chose to stay and keep working on it.
Please know we are all here for you!
I got a lot of help from the below web site.
http://www.circle-of-grace.com

mcmarto 05-14-03, 06:46 PM Oh gosh Fleur!
I knew their had to be a good reason why I had not seen you online or in my journal!
I am oh so sorry your Mother's Day sucked...you are the best mom ever and you deserve more!
Why is Dan acting this way?...Why is he doing this now?...Is it because he has given up smoking and he is agitated (this still does not give him the right)...
He needs to treat you like the queen that you are...you are a wonderful mom...wife...homemaker...and friend to us all here at DT!
I am so sorry this is all happening...I cannot wait to chat with you...hopefully he will stop being so sour and turn sweet...
Please realize that you are fabulous...and nothing he say's or does can change that!

fleureange 05-14-03, 08:06 PM May 14 2003.
Thank you all so much for your support and great advice.
I really need it right now.
Things are a bit better, but it's still touch an go. He seems ok one min, then her goes off the next.
MC, it's not cause he quit smoking, cause he never did. That too, no doubt is my fault.
Jade, I will def check out that site. No matter what happens here, I need to build my self esteem and that's a good way to start.
Lisrey- that is so me!! Thanks. It gives me a focus on where to start.
maximum 05-14-03, 08:13 PM Hey Gorgeous!!!
PSH! you should have said don't let the door hit you in the ass as you walk out.... LOL Just kidding
You know MY DH is so similar to yours at times. I love being told that I am a MISERABLE PERSON..... I'm also a very defensive person and its TIT for TAT..... But sometimes when I can build up strength in me I find power in silence. To humble ourselves. Sometimes that works for me..... He can hear himself when I am not talking, In fact he can hear it loud and clear sometimes.
It's terrible that we should have to feel this way with someone who is a partner, our lover, our friend.
I will pray for strength for you, and for confidence.
We love and care about you. CYBER HUGS COMING YOUR WAY..... Take Care my dear. And try and not let this weigh you down, hold your head high, Become RUBBER he is glue! ;)
fleureange 05-14-03, 08:18 PM Peng, thanks for making me smile- AS ALWAYS :D
Lee, Thanks, I am def trying to focus on me. I'm letting his anger be his. At least I'm trying to.
Lulu, thanks so much. You are def a sweetie. I may just take you up on your offer ;) but won't be till next week when he goes back to work. :( not soon enough for me.
Well, I got my flowers. Got them all planted and my gardens are looking good. Got much of the small space beside me house cleaned too. What a mess. Dan had bricks and wook and garbage... oh, it was nasty.
All gone.
My other BIL is giving the kids a wooden play gym/climber. His kids have outgrown it and mine will just love it. Dan is gone now to get it, thus the reason I'm on the puter.
Wll, while I have time, I should go read some journals.
Have a great night
Darlene :hippy:
fleureange 05-14-03, 08:27 PM Maximum, you slipped in there on me :D
I am rubber!!!:D
I wish silence worked with him, he gives it so well and it doesn't bother him in the least to get it back. On the other hand, it drives me nuts.
I guess i just need to learn how to deal with his behavior and to control my reactions to it. I can't change him, only myself.
Thanks for putting a smile on my face.
Darlene :hippy:
sandielynne 05-14-03, 08:27 PM As Maximum put it "PSH! you should have said don't let the door hit you in the ass as you walk out.... " And I'm not kidding.
That man of yours would learn much quicker just how much you do do, if you weren't there doing it. Maybe he needs a taste of the "missing wife." Maybe you could give him that gift for "Father's" day?
Either way, don't you dare let him destroy your self esteem. It's not his to take. It's yours, so hold on to it, and hold on strong. You are not only WORTH IT, but worth more than either of you know right now.
Happy Mother's Day Darlene.
Sandie
You my friend are 100% correct with what you said!
I guess i just need to learn how to deal with his behavior and to control my reactions to it. I can't change him, only myself
I am just an email or PM away if you need some one to talk to :)
PS: I have found that working is a very good and healthy way to get rid of anger and hurt - much healthier then over eating - so you are doing GREAT! Hang in there - we are here for you!
Jade
mcmarto 05-15-03, 05:24 PM Oh...so glad to hear from you!
Hope you are getting a little exercise in...helps fight stress!
I am on plan...day two...woohoo!

fleureange 05-15-03, 07:05 PM May 15 2003
SANDIE- I know what you mean. I just can't see my life without him. Sad to think I know. I sound like an abused woman to afraid to leave.
I don't want to leave, I want respect and equality.
I just need to work on my self esteem. I need to find a way to deal with him and not let his words scare and hurt me.
********************************************
JADE- I got your PM an I will be starting those courses. Well one at a time for now.
I am now at the library and I've checked out a few books to help. Dr. Phil being one of them.
********************************************
I have 120 mins so far. I've walked 30 mins for the past 4 days. I'd like to get back to doing aerobic videos soon, but have to wait till my BIL moves out.
********************************************
Well, things are pretty much the same. They seem good, but I'm not fooling myself. I know he could be set off at any time.
Just watching my Ps and Qs for now while I learn how to deal with it.
My food is still good. Remarkable how easy Atkins is to stick to. I haven't lost any more, but that's ok. No news is good news.
I'm off to read journals. Have a good night.
Darlene :hippy:
well my friend
no matter what
you are a great mom
:gflower:
went to chat with you and got erin instead lol
and no, no swearing ! hahahahha I am getting much better thank god
she is a sweet, polite girl... just like mom
hope you have a great friday
catch up with you soon
Peng
darlene, I've only read the tail end of your journal (trying to catch up again!) but wow, sounds like you've been thru hell & back...if you ever need to talk, I'm here. hang in there!!
MEN, sometimes they don't realize how easily we could do without them. Why do they have to feel like they are the king of the castle instead of just one of the partners.
Sandie is right, don't you dare let him take away your self confidence and respect.
Hope things are continueing to get better.
How do the kids like the play house, they will have a great summer with that.
Take care Gleur, we love ya.
fleureange 05-16-03, 07:30 AM May 16 2003
PENG- That's so funny. Erin didn't even tell me. I usually exit AOL so that doesn't happen. God forbid it's Dan LOL
I notice every time the puter shuts off, It pops back up. So, that's how it happened. Sorry. Did you have a nice chat? LOL
****************************************************
BUJI- Hi there, I've missed you. How you been?
Well, hell is putting it mildly I think. I keep moving forward, at least I'm trying to.
Thanks for lending your ear. I know I can always count on you.:)
****************************************************
CRAZY- I agree. I can't let him do this to me any more. I need to get some kind of control. That's why I'm taking these courses and reading these books. Can't afford counciling, so this is the next best thing. I know it will only help me, and not him, but I just neeed to deal with it better. I need to be able to deal with what ever may come out of these fits of his, like divorce. I want to be mentaly stronger so if he pulls that card again, I won't feel that intence hurt and be scared into submission. I want to be strong and take what ever comes my way.
I guess the end result could be the same, but I want to be ready.
****************************************************
Man, You guys are soooo there for me. I love you guys. How could I have gotten through this? I would have eaten. I have no doubt.
You guys are saving my life. Helping me keep some kind of control where everything else is a mess. Thank you all. Thank you, thank you.
Darlene :hippy:
Good for you Fleur, (sorry I spelled Fleur wrong last time)
Glad to hear that you are taking some courses and reading, that is sometimes better than counselling.
I've thought of that too, that I would want to be prepared and not be intimidated if it ever came to divorce or something. Glad you are thinking of it too. I know you wouldn't want that but a little prep doesn't hurt anyone I don't think.
So nice to see you being positive. Will be praying for you and Dan.
Take care, have a good holiday weekend.
fleureange 05-16-03, 12:44 PM Thanks Crazy. I don't want it to happen, but I want to be strong enough to stand up for myself and if that means he wants a divorce, then I really need to be ready.
That's my goal.
Thanks so much for your prayers. It means alot.
Darlene :hippy:
maximum 05-16-03, 01:00 PM :gflower: HEY SEEXY!!! tee hee. HEy sometimes we need to hear that huh.....
I think CONFIDENCE is going to be KEY for you.... I think most of us here lack that due to our weight problems, and weight problems stem from that. Its a vicous circle I know. You need to LOVE YOU BABE!!!! I know it sounds silly but really remember.....
YOU ARE RUBBER! A SHIELD that no harsh words can penatrate, No evil looks...... STICK AND STONES MAY BREAK YOU BUT NOT WORDS, OR HARSH THOUGHTS.......
Take Care.... YOU ARE WOMAN....HEAR YOU ROOOOOOOOAAAAR!
fleureange 05-16-03, 08:51 PM Oh Maxi, I just love your post :D
It sure made my day.
Thanks.
Know what you mean by the vicous circle. Been on the same track going round and round for years. Just seems the track is getting smaller and I'm going so much faster. I hope reading and the e-courses help get me off this track and onto a slower paced lane. One where I can stop an smell the roses and not worry about weight any longer.
****************************************************
Well, was an ok day today with Dan. Things seem smooth enough, but I'm not fooled.
I hope to start reading soon. Haven't had much time.
Spent most of my time outside today, doing this and that.
Got my house and laundry done too.
Even got in a 30 min walk.
I hope to see a loss soon. It's been a week or so.
Well, I should go. They are waiting for me so we can start our bon fire. Not really feeling like it, but the kids like it.
I'm outta here.
Have a great weekend
Darlene :hippy:
P.S. Remember, Monday is a holiday here and Dan has that day off too. So, come Monday night, (Dan's Tuesday) I'll be back posting in journals a bit more and I hope to chat AOL.
Have a great night.
mcmarto 05-18-03, 01:32 PM Hey Fleur!
I know how you are feeling...we have discussed this before!...Right now my DH is in a mellow spot...but I never know when the depressed DH will appear!
Hang in there...you will know what to do..........can't wait to chat some more!
Great work on the walking!
mcmarto
fleureange 05-18-03, 08:07 PM May 18 2003
MC- I'm following the courses Jade sent me. I just know this will help me build my self esteem and help me to deal with Dan and his moods.
Once I build my self esteem, I'm going to look for a support group, I think. I just hope it helps.
Have a good one
Darlene :hippy:
