View Full Version : My food and thoughts journal
Well, I thought it was time to get a journal going here. In the not-so-distant past, I've been the type of person to log down each and every calorie and fat gram that has gone into my mouth. At times, I feel that it's had a real negative affect on me - that I've become neurotic about the whole healthy eating thing.
Sometimes I feel that the more I try to watch myself and journal everything, the more I DWELL on food. It's like I become someone who is obsessed!!
What I've done in the last week or so, instead, is to try and keep a very close eye on what I'm eating, but not go so overboard with it all. I have not been neurotically writing down each and every bite I take, but just trying to make good, healthy choices and eat in moderation.
In the past, what has worked for me is to keep my daily calories down to between 1000 - 1300 per day and my fat grams anywhere between 8g-15g. I know it's on the low side, especially on the fat grams, but I swear to you that I lost 48.5 pounds doing this method back in 2001. In the last year, though, I have put back on about 20 of those pounds, so I thought if I repeated my procedure, it would all work just fine again. Problem is, that's not what's happening! In fact, I'm finding it really hard to get rid of these 20 pounds. I believe it was easier to lose when I had more to lose! That perplexes me!! :(
I'm trying to increase both my calories and my fat grams just a bit, in hopes of being more successful. My thinking was that I just wasn't getting enough fat in my day to make me feel satisfied. I'd be open to hearing any comments on this topic.
So, I will do a listing of foods eaten here in this journal and hope that this keeps me accountable to myself. And, of course, whoever else may be reading this!
I tend to eat Lean Cuisine and Weight Watchers meals frequently, since my daughter is rarely home, so most of the time I'm just cooking for myself. Also, I have a portion control problem, so the meals make it easy that way. I usually fix either a vegie or a salad on the side and that's my meal. On the rare occasions that I do cook a regular dinner, I find that I end up eating it 2-3 days/nights in a row to finish it, unless I have so much I need to freeze it.
This is my food for today, 6/27/03:
breakfast-
1 cup of coffee w/ff flavored creamer
2 boca sausage patties
1/2 c. garden veg. flavored egg beaters
2 pc. Wonder light sourdough toast w/ICBINB spray
lunch-
ff hotdog on hotdog bun w/ketchup and mustard
1 serving of WOW chips
2 c. canteloupe chunks
snack-
strawberry smoothie made with skim milk
dinner-
(Last night of this) leftover teriyaki pork tenderloin
mashed potatoes (made with very little margarine and skim milk)
snack-
Klondike 98% ff Slim-a-Bear ice cream sandwich (YUM! - I'm hooked on these things)
Before I close, I just want to say that this seems to be a really great forum with some very nice and motivated people. I'm happy that my friend, bird songs (a.k.a. Karen) recommended for me to come here and I hope we all find the success we are working for!! ;)
jessica 06-27-03, 10:24 PM Hi Nancy!!
re your statement, "I believe it was easier to lose when I had more to lose" ---IT WAS!!
generally, as a bigger big person, your basic metabolism is boosted a wee bit because it's harder to move!! So all the sudden, you get down to the last 10, or 5, or 20, and it's like...stagnant metabolism, come get me!! Additionally, ingesting lower cals tends to slow your metabolism, sending your body into "let's store all this food and not let go of these stores cuz she's gonna starve us!!"-mode. And then there's the inevitable advance of time... the older we get, the slower the metabolism gets... :c( This is where we stamp our feet and cry and throw a good temper tantrum (added bonus--calories burned.)
so now, I will add my dreaded two pennies.
1 cent--try to add more fiber, think BULK!!(fruits, vegy's, whole grains) into your diet--not only will you feel like you're getting more food, thereby feeling less inclined to "get off plan," your body will have more energy from better nutrients. And frankly, fruits taste nice!!:D
2 cent-- how about introducing an exercise plan into your routine, and concentrating not so much on pounds as on fitness? I found I was reeeeeeeeeeealllllllly disappointed, LOTS, as a dieter, because the freakin' scale wasn't budging fast enough for me (still doesn't.)--HOWEVER, I could see progress in my fitness level, as well, I can see some nice body changes that straight dieting wasn't contributing to...
I'm sure this is all info you know, so I'll leave you to it now, with,
Best Wishes!!
:) Jess
bird songs 06-27-03, 10:33 PM Hi Nancy!! I am so thrilled that you decided to keep a journal here! I didnt want to make you feel in any way that I would pressure you to do this....(battin my eyes innocently), but I am sure glad you are here with me! lol
Uhh huuhhh...seee?? Even Jess says you are in the starvation mode.... (not that I am gloating or anything like that hehe)...
Love ya!
Soooooooooo glad you are here! Fresh start...nice people, many topics of interest...what more could we ask for hey?
aria2000 06-27-03, 11:00 PM Welcome to Journals, NancyD :)
I'm glad you decided to come into this forum.
I don't know what, if any, form of exercise you do, but, resistance and aerobic is good. Resistance to build muscle so you don't lose muscle tissue while dieting, and aerobic to keep your metabolism revved up.
Another strategy might be to eat a little more until you gain, (yes, I said that awful word, GAIN) about 2 or 3 pounds, which will only take a day or so, then diet again until you have lost it, then eat again till you gain it, then back to the reducing, and each time it usually takes longer to regain it. Then you can go back to reducing until you hit another plateau, (usually about 20 or so pounds) and do the same thing. You are kind of resetting your metabolism, I guess.
I hope all these suggestions we're making are helpful for you.
It sure is a bugger trying to lose successfully, isn't it? But, you'll do it because everyone here is so helpful I've found. You have the will, so there is a way. :D
Nice meeting you. Good luck!
Wow! Thank you all for the nice, warm welcome!! I didn't include it in my introductory post but yes, I do try to get exercise regularly. I have a treadmill and a weight bench here at home. I'm pretty regular (usually daily) with the treadmill, but I've been having problems sticking with the weights and the weight bench here in the last couple of years, for some reason. I try to do a couple of miles on the treadmill - more if time allows.
I recently ordered and received the other day, the Windsor Pilates program. I have nothing against aerobics and, in fact, I have several aerobics tapes that I like doing. But since I'm approaching age 50, I am feeling less and less flexible and I've heard that Pilates is wonderful for flexibility, among other things. And besides, I've been curious about Pilates for some time, and felt that maybe it would be a calmer approach to toning myself up. I tried it for the first time yesterday, and boy, it's HARD!! I'm a rookie at this, and the main thing I noticed is that the breathing is all different from the way I normally breathe while exercising. So that, right off the bat, is an adjustment. I can definitely feel it in my mid-section, just from that short workout yesterday. I also think I will try the exercises in the modified form just to start with. I have a neck that likes to act up if I overdo it, and I feel a bit like I pushed my neck too much doing these moves. As soon as I can, I'll go on to the un-modified moves. I want to do the Pilates maybe 3 times per week. I took my measurements this morning, so we'll see what happens. I will measure again in one month.
For exercise, I walked 2 1/2 miles on the treadmill lastnight (350 calories burned). Did the 20 minute Pilates tape - had to stop several times due to getting strange cramps in various parts of my legs due to some of the unfamiliar moves. Drat! Hope that doesn't keep up!!
This morning, I did 2 miles on the treadmill (266 calories burned)
My food for today, 6/28/03:
breakfast-
coffee w/ff flavored creamer
corn flakes w/ff milk
lunch-
large salad w/lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, sliced lean ham, hard boiled egg, croutons, avocado and 2% shredded cheese (YUMMY)
ff ranch dressing
dinner-
(this was all I could muster up after an unusually challenging day)
sandwich made w/whole wheat bread, ff fried balogna, 2% jack cheese and Hellman's Just 2 Good mayo
WOW chips
Angel food cake
snack-
1/2 c. dried apricots
Water so far for today: 96 ounces
Tomorrow morning, I am treating my 17 year old daughter to breakfast out. This is something we never do together, and she FINALLY made the Honor Roll this last report card, after one full year on her ADHD medicine. She finished last year with a gpa of 0.71 (Yuck!) and this year, her gpa was 3.041, so you can see we have reason to celebrate!! I'll try to see if they offer something sensible like maybe an omelette made from egg beaters. Whatever I end up getting, I'll be a good girl and put it here in my journal, though! Gee, sorry this seems to be turning into an epic novel here! 8-|
Qvictoria 06-28-03, 10:14 PM Hello, Nancy!!! I also relate to your statement about it being easier to lose when you had more to lose. I lost more than 100 pounds, gained back 20 and am at a standstill in reaching my goal. I think all of the tips posted here are good ones and also that your Pilates practice will help a lot ... the breathing and different approach to muscle toning are bound to shake up your metabolism and maybe get you off that plateau. You're doing great!!! Enjoy your breakfast tomorrow!
sandielynne 06-28-03, 10:38 PM Hello Nancy,
And Welcome to DT and the Journal's forum.
I won't be giving you any more advice because I would say you have enough to digest for the moment.
I just wanted to stop in and wish you the very best with your weight loss, and happy to have you aboard.
Hi there, Qvictoria! And thanks for stopping by my journal. You've sure come a long way on your weight loss journey! I really do admire that. I never thought about it until you mentioned that maybe the new Pilates workouts, with the different breathing and all will actually shake things up for me. I don't know about anyone else, but for myself, it does seem like my routine gets stale after awhile, so it'll be interesting to see if this helps with the plateau issue. I think our bodies get used to us doing the same routines after awhile and they aren't challenged to move on. Do you agree? Very nice to meet you!
Hi Sandie! Thanks for the welcome to DT and journaling. I also posted a little "Hello" in your journal earlier this evening!! It's so nice hearing from others who are on the same journey. Lots of good thoughts and ideas posted already from other members. I'm really liking it here at Diettalk!! See ya around the boards! :)
hi there Nancy,
just wanted to stop in and welcome you to this wonderful diettalk family.
we already have one thing in common. i just ordered the Winsor tapes a sec ago online and cant wait to get them. i have done some pilates and yoga stuff before but am ready for them t be challenging and somewhat impossible lol.... even at goal i am frustrated with my abs so am hoping that these will give me some good results.
i look forward to watching your progress and i think that increasing the fat grams and cals a little will give you great results. i hear what you are saying about obsessing. i have been through that and am happy to say that it does get better...but i figure a little obsessiveness is better than not caring at all...right?
Hugs bell :)
Minnie mouse 06-29-03, 11:45 PM Hello Nancy and welcome,
well i agree with everyone elses advice so i wont repeat whats already said but i also was eating lean cusine and smart ones and you just gotta watch cuz being prepackaged and frozen there is mega sodium in them too. Just a thought.
i see your doing good anyways and Pilates is suppose to be great for you. i have Denise Austins pilates tape but i rarely do it but i have Leslie Sanstones walk away the pounds tapes and its a great workout and i love it. i do it 5-6 days a week.
do you drink lots of water? Lemon added to it helps too.
well wanted to wish you luck on your yourney and welcome to DT.
take care.
Nice to hear from you Bell & Minnie Mouse! Thanks for your entries and it's good to meet you!!
Bell, I've still only done the Windsor Pilates tape that one time. I had the best of intentions to get to it yesterday, but other interruptions got in the way. I am hoping to do it this evening. BUT, I will say that even 2 days after doing the tape the first time, I could still feel it in my mid-section. And that, alone, gives me encouragement that this workout will really be productive! I also would like to start filtering in a few of my other aerobics tapes throughout the week to mix up my routine a bit more.
Thanks for the heads up about the sodium content in the WW and LC meals, Minnie Mouse. I'm also aware of the high carbohydrate count in them, but don't know how to get around that problem. You gotta do one or the other, I guess - either high in calories and low in carbs or low in calories and higher in carbs. I like the fact that when the food is gone, you've eaten your portion and the meal is over with! Yes, I do try to drink lots of water. That's a habit I picked up when I had joined Weight Watchers back in 1997. Prior to that, I rarely drank water. Now I have to have my water bottle with me at all times!! The only thing that irritates me is when I'm out trying to run errands and find myself continually looking for restrooms!! LOL
I have to mention that lots of times, it's hard for me to get online at home, so I miss a lot during the evenings & weekends and have lots of catching up to do on Monday's, especially. Yesterday was the day I took my daughter out for breakfast and a movie. We had a nice time together! (Saw Daddy Daycare - pretty funny movie!) Here was my food listing for yesterday, and besides the breakfast, my food content wasn't too bad for the day.

bird songs 06-30-03, 11:47 AM Good Morning my friend!!
Hope ya had a good time with daughter. My son is gone, I only saw him for about half an hour yesterday.. I guess I am going to have to ask him for visitation rights lol
My brother came to see me! I fed him salad from the garden and we went out back and ate black raspberries off the vine.. Gave him a Chicken Cordon Bleu and he LOVED it, and I told him how lowfat it was and he couldnt believe! He has a friend that is severely overweight and he wants me to give him a few of our recipes to give to his friend..
He told me what a wonderful cook I am.. I said..awww you are just saying that because you want pampered LOL
I gave him a skinny cow too and he is going to tell his friend about that too..
Also, I bought some Lobsta-like fish............man is that ever good in salads! I also bought some raspberry vinegarette from Walden Farms and Nancy, that is totally AWESOME..
I also wanted to tell you I had an artichoke and they are so cool to eat! And good too! LOL
See ya around the board my dear friend!
Hey there, Karen! I know what ya mean about not seeing your son. My daughter gets mad at me because I leave her notes everywhere, but I keep telling her I don't know what else to do when I never see her!! lol You're right - it's like we need visitation rights, and I feel like that's what I got yesterday when she granted me that time with her for the breakfast & movie! We have to cherish what little time they give us, right? She has told me before that even though she's not home much, she thinks of me all the time - which was very sweet of her to say!
That is SO GREAT about you showing all your healthy eating tips to your brother. Hey, you're gonna bring about some wonderfully positive changes in your family - do you know that? You are going to transform everyone into healthy individuals! Isn't that Chicken Cordon Bleu recipe awsome? I was in the stores this weekend, looking for Adobo seasoning so I could make Courtney Chicken, but :c( I couldn't find it in the seasoning section. Where do you find it???
bird songs 06-30-03, 12:20 PM Hiya Nancy... yeah seems like everyone is wanting on my bandwagon, but they wont leave room for me! hahahaha
Darn their rusty butts anyways ..hehe
That seasoning is called Goya Adobo with cumin. I found mine in the normal spice section, but ask the manager of your store for that brandname. Maybe you can find it in the mexican section of the store too..
http://www.goya.com/english/products/product_category.html?id=4
This is the website, so you can see what the bottle looks like.
I hope you find it, because that breading is simply OUT OF THIS WORLD... its good on chicken, porkchops, I am even going to try it on fish.. .....................someday lol
I LOVE THIS FORUM!!!!
That cordon bleu was awesome too. I used ham, onions, mushrooms, cheese in the center of mine lol
Next time I might use swiss, ham and bavarian sour crout lol
I bet it would be good too with that string cheese lol
Lots of variety of how to stuff a chicken huh? LOL
I thought I'd stop in for a bit and catch up on your journal, and I see you have the same question I do about the seasoning for the chicken.
It will be just my luck that they won't have it in my neck of the woods.
Looks like you are doing just great.
I had to giggle a bit about that pilates tape. My one DIL works out almost daily at a health club they belong to, and she bought a pilates tape and did the full thing. The next day she woke up with a cold and she said every time she coughed she thought she was gonna die it hurt so much! She should have started out with the beginners part first, but some of us just have to learn the hard way, I guess. :D
Keep up the good work!
Wow - thanks so much, Karen, for the link to the seasoning company! That really helps to see the picture of it. I've seen this brand in the stores before, and I think you're right that it may be in the mexican food section. I will check there! You put a lot more ingredients in your Cordon Bleu stuffing - stuff that sounds GREAT! Thanks for your ideas, I'll try some of them next time.
Yeah, Tilly, I can relate to your friend's story about the pilates tape & her soreness! I'm going to try to do the modified workouts the next couple of times, but I want to go back to the regular moves asap. I like feeling that "good ache" when you know you've challenged yourself and can feel that you've made your muscles work! I really like that the pilates concentrates on your mid-section. That's where a lot of my weight problems are!!
Minnie mouse 06-30-03, 01:42 PM Hello,
i can relate to the kids gone thing,. my older one will be 14 this yr and she has a busier social life than i do. she goes on the weekend to friends and so on. the other 2 are 11 and 9 and are home alot but also on every other weekend kids go to see there dad.
one day i will have empty nest too. i liked when they were babies more as i had less to worry about.
i know what you mean about the frozen meals with good portion size cuz they do have that. i guess your right you cant have it all. its either high carbs and low cal and so on. i eat them sometimes too. i like the healthy choice duos and the uncle Bens rice bowls too.
well take care.
Had to go after work yesterday and pick up a birthday present for my mom. Today is her 74th birthday and several of us family members will be going over to my folk's house this evening for cake and presents. She hasn't been feeling well lately ~ lots of physical problems, and we usually all go out to dinner for the adult's birthdays, but we're unable to with her under the weather.
Seeing as though I had a later dinner after shopping yesterday, I would have thought that just my planned dinner and snack would have sufficed, but for some reason, I had a hunger that I couldn't satisfy lastnight. After the dinner and the angel food cake, I had a Klondike 98% ff ice cream sandwich, a half a ff balogna & cheese sandwich on wheat bread (as I was fixing today's sandwich for lunch), and, yes - even more, I had some WOW chips. Gee, I really counteracted the benefits of my Pilates tape and my 1.5 mile treadmill walk! Glad I don't have these kinds of evenings too often!! LOL
Planned food for 7/1/03 (Hard to believe a full half year is already gone, isn't it?):
b'fast-
coffee w/ff flavored creamer
garden veg egg beaters w/diced ham added
piece of whole wheat toast w/ICBINB spray
couple pieces of dried apricots
lunch-
sandwhich made with whole wheat bread, ff balogna, 2% jack cheese and Just 2 good mayo
WOW chips
apple
dinner-
dinner salad w/chicken from Bob Evans
my own fat free salad dressing
probably a piece of lemon birthday cake
Yesterday's water intake wasn't the greatest - maybe about 70 ounces. Will try much harder today to get the total up to at least 96 ounces.
Hi Nancy, I see you had a time of it with the munchies after the cake etc. I had the same thing happen to me for a couple of days in a row, and I still believe it had something to do with carbohydrates. I think there are certain ones that make a person feel like you're never satisfied.
I hope you have a good day today.
bird songs 07-01-03, 07:20 PM Hey Nancyyyyyyy...where are ya!?
I am fine! Missin my friend tho.. another busy day??
How did that meeting go?
Well, yesterday afternoon turned out to be a little crazy! Between the meeting here at work, and then my daughter was working a double shift at her job and had about a 3 hour break between shifts, with nowhere to go (no car yet), so I had to blast over in the middle of the meeting to pick her up. Then, our meeting went on and on.....as they sometimes do (LOL). By the time that was over with, we had just enough time to wrap up what we had going on on our desks and skedattle for the day. After work I took my daughter back to her job for her 2nd shift then went to 2 different restaurants to pick up food for my parents house so my mom wouldn't have to cook on her birthday! We had a nice time there for our little birthday celebration with the family.
I've mentioned that I'm trying to up my calories and fat intake just a bit, and over the last couple of weeks, since I've been doing this, I haven't been obsessively writing down each calorie I've been eating, but just from my choices, I know that my calories have increased. But I thought I'd keep track of it all like I used to, just for curiosity's sake. I think I'll do this for a couple of days, just to get a better gauge on things.
Planned food for today, 7/2/03:
b'fast-
1 cup of coffee w/ff flavored creamer (96 cal, 0 fat)
1 quesadilla, made with lg. flour tortilla, 1/2 c. shredded colby & jack cheese and 2 tbsp. bacon bits (340 cal, 14g fat)
3 tbsp. ff sour cream (30 cal, 0 fat)
1 c. bing cherries (104 cal, 0 fat)
lunch-
LC Pot Roast meal (190 cal, 6g fat)
1 3/4 c. canned italian green beans (70 cal, 0 fat)
apple (80 cal, 0 fat)
dinner-
LC spaghetti & meatballs meal (260 cal, 5g fat)
1 1/2 c. mixed green salad w/ff ranch dressing (80 cal, 0 fat)
snack-
1/5 angel food cake (150 cal, 0 fat)
1 c. cantaloupe chunks (60 cal, 0 fat)
This comes to 1460 calories and 26.5 grams of fat. The calories need to go up another 100 or so and I need to get the fat up to closer to 25% of my total calories, as it's currently only about 18 1/2% for today. I'll work on this over the next few days.
Just wanted to mention, in case I haven't before, that I don't get as much time online as I would like to have to be able to read through other people's journals, etc. and post in them. I just try to do a little at a time with my limited availablilty while here at work, so bear with me as I eventually try to make it around to the other journals or threads and get to know all the other great members of DT! :D
Hi Nancy!
Don't worry about making it to all the journals of everyone who comes to yours. I used to worry about that, but I don't anymore. I stop in and say Hey! to others when I have a few minutes. They know I wish the best for them, and I'll say so when I can.
I'm on vacation until the 28th of July, and I can be leisurely about cruising around to everyones journals now, but that will change when I go back to work. I'll still stop in, but not as often.
Sounds like you had a VERY busy day yesterday. Stressful, isn't it?
I wish I could say that I need to increase my fat. I am such a fat lover, I have to be really careful. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't like the saturated fats foods, but I love butter, bacon, most meats, and that on top of sugar sent my triglycerides sky high. I cut them in half, but still need to work on it.
I hope you have a calmer day today. Keep up the good work!
bird songs 07-02-03, 10:28 AM Nancy, how did it go with your mom? Was she able to enjoy the surprize? I sure hope so, you took alot of effort to give her a nice quiet time.
When I worked, I worked 10-12 hours a day Nancy, I thought it was just AWEFUL. My home life suffered, I was so stressed out. My hubby hated me..lol So did my son.
I didnt have much love for me one way or the other, I was too tired..LOL
Its important to stop the world and get off from time to time and just UNstress. I know its easier said that done when you hold a full-time job, have kids, bills, homes to fix, but its very important, or you will wind up like me ....on mega pills LOL
Baylee, I am glad you are on vacation! I hope you are enjoying it immensely..
Hey Baylee! Thanks again for stopping by! Yeah, things have been kinda stressful these days around here, but it's a fact of life! How'd you rig getting so much time off? Did you have lots of vacation built up or are you between jobs? Well, anyway, do enjoy your days of leisure. Too soon you'll be back to the hectic life!
Karen, yes, lastnight was nice, but not a surprise, as my mom knew we were all coming over. And she had put in her food order with me ahead of time. She's had no appetite for the last couple of weeks - which isn't like her at all - but she really was in the mood for this food, and she literally scarfed it down! I'm glad she found her appetite again! But she had a real nice time, I think, and she acted like she felt a little better than she has the last couple of days.
I apparently slept wrong lastnight and the lower left side of my back has really been bothering me all day today. I took some Advil this morning, but it didn't even phase me. I've also been so tired that I feel like a zombie. I have half a notion to go home and just go to bed ~ and I just might (might double up on the Advil this time, though)!!
The nicest thing that happened today is the boss sending an email around, telling us they are letting us off at 1pm Thursday for an extra long weekend, with pay! I'm very much looking forward to that.
Hope everyone has a nice evening!
bird songs 07-02-03, 06:10 PM Hiya Nancy, I think thats a good idea! Take Advil, a book and a bed, you deserve it!
Hope you feel better and I am glad your mom ate well!
Minnie mouse 07-03-03, 09:25 AM Hello,
i wouldnt worry about getting toi everyones journals,. i do them when i can. i make sure i do my own each day though so i focus better and stay on track. we all are busy and understand.
what you did for your mom was so nice. one day when my kids are grown i would love something like not making dinner and it being brought too me. :D
your doing really well. take care and enjoy the 4th :tongue:atriot:
My back is still at it this morning. :c( Gee, I must have really goofed it up somehow. I am wondering if it was any of the pilates moves. The only one I can think of where I MIGHT have strained it is where you sit up, put your knees to your chest, wrap your hands & arms around your legs, tuck your head in and roll yourself back along your spine. Iwent back fine, but had problems getting myself back to an upright position almost every time we did it. I think we did it 5-6 times. Anyway, if I did strain myself doing that, why didn't I hurt the next day, which would have been Tuesday? I was completely fine all day & evening on Tuesday! My aches didn't start until yesterday, so I'm perplexed. The Advil doesn't seem to be doing a thing, but I'll continue to take it in case there is any inflamation.
So, on to my food adjustments for yesterday. Everything from dinner on got changed because I was so tired and ended up going to bed at 7pm. Here's what I had instead:
Sandwich, made with 2 pc. whole wheat bread (180 cal, 2g fat)
2 pc. ff balogna, fried in a dry pan (40 cal, 0 fat)
1 oz. 2% Jack cheese (80 cal, 6g fat)
2 tbsp. Just 2 good mayo (I forgot to write this down so don't know the count)
1/5 Angel food cake (150 cal, 0 fat)
This changed my calorie count, but without knowing the mayo count, I can only list what I know. I came up with 1360 (plus whatever the mayo is) calories, and 29.5 grams of fat. My calories went down, but the fat grams went up to 22%, which is closer to where that should be.
Did just horrible on my water for yesterday. I wasn't concentrating on drinking it, therefore, basically ignored my bottle most of the day. I think I may have drank 40 ounces all day. BAD GIRL!! Must try harder today.
****************************************************
I don't have my whole day's food planned out today, so I'll just list the parts I know so far:
b'fast-
coffee w/ff flavored creamer (96 cal, 0 fat)
1 1/2c. raisin bran cereal (255 cal, 1.5g fat)
1 c. ff milk (90 cal, 0 fat)
apple (80 cl, 0 fat)
lunch-
LC cheese lasagna casserole (270 cal, 7g fat)
That's it for now. With so many days off coming up, I am hopeful to be able to log on at least a couple times during the weekend to post. When I do, I'll finish this off, and hopefully have time to read through some other people's journals, etc. and start getting to know some others on this board!
sandielynne 07-03-03, 06:03 PM A-ha Nancy,
Another one that enjoys fried balogna eh? Gosh, does that bring back memories for me.
My Mother used to cut it up in cubes, frizzle it and make a milk gravy and serve the fried balogna gravy over mashed potatoes. Fantastic.
My Dad just like fried balogna sandwiches. I didn't know if anyone did that any more. I never hear of it mentioned.
I gather you aren't an automatice water drinker either. Neither and I and I have such a hard time getting that 64 oz. down. I'm amazed at the people that are doing 128 oz and more a day. Gosh almighty, where do they put it all without floating away?
Whatever, I hope you have a good day, get your water in, and I wanted to wish you a great 4th weekend as well.
Take care now. Don't over party.....LOL
