View Full Version : Courtney's New Life - New Journal
cccluvbug 07-02-03, 10:46 AM For those of you who have been following my last journal... you see that I've had some HUGE things coming up!
On July 7, 2003 I am getting married.
Today is the second day of my new job as a Sear's HUB Associate.
Those are just two of some of the biggest things that have happened to me ever and they have become very stressful... which leads to my eating.
I just get sooooo hungry and there's a little voice inside of me that just screams "FEED ME!!!" And so rather than keep my long line of will-power up, I instead give into it. I also seemed to have slipped away from exercise, and last week I only did 15 minutes. I'm hoping to change all that, and by starting a new journal... I can wipe the slate clean and have a bunch of new days to be proud of.
I'm going to start this new journal with a 5-day jump start with Slim-Fast and Hydroxycut 3 times a day. Even if I just lose 1 pound from it, it's better than gaining 5 by not caring.
To help control myself.. I will create a meal-plan first thing in the morning these next couple of days, so instead of wondering all day what I'm going to eat that eventually leads to gorging, I can instead focus all my time and energy into the important things in life... number one being my fiancé (soon to be hubby!!), followed by my new job, exercise, keeping up with the house and so forth.
I need to take action... I am in charge of the food... food does not control me, and the bad stuff is just going to have to find a new body to live in!
IT'S TIME THAT I'M BACK IN CHARGE!!!

Julie
cccluvbug 07-02-03, 11:29 PM Hiya everyone!
Today was a very good day. I followed my meal plan better than I intended... I didn't even have any of those snacks. That little thing I wrote to myself about not eating when I'm not hungry worked and I ended up not wanting anything except my three meals.
Limiting myself to one 'good meal' a day really makes me appreciate my dinner, lol. We went to Bob Evans and I had one of their absolutely wonderful Wildfire Chicken Salads. I made sure that we went during Lunch Time. Not only is it cheaper, but smaller portions. :D I called up the number from their website and that salad only has 21 grams of fat and 637 calories... and it is so worth each and every bite! It has these really yummy barbeque glazed chicken strips, tortilla strips, lettuce, tomatoes, and corn with this really yummy dressing that I have yet to figure out! But it's really good. I savored each and every bite and best of all... it was a salad! I only tried one other salad of their's - oriental chicken and it's very good too. My fiancé has ordered the wildfire chicken salad for the 4th time in a row, lol. He tells me that if his friends would have told him that he'd be eating chicken and lettuce, he would told them to sod off, lol. That's cool though... he's making better good choices too.
I also took 2 hydroxycut and me, my fiancé and my mum-in-law took eddie our puppy for a little walk. We were out walking the estates for 28 minutes, but made frequent stops, so I'd count that as only 15 minutes of walking, but it's a start to get back into my exercise routine. I was really doing way too much before and scheduling myself such hard exercises that it was easy to say no and eat instead.
As long as I don't gorge. Eat sensibly. That's what I have to get through my head. I didn't lose all this weight by eating for 3. Maintaining is probably going to be one of the hardest things for me once I get to 140.
Anyway, I'm gonna go... my eyes are burning from staring at a computer screen for 4 hours at work and they can't take anymore!
Tomorrow morning I'm gonna make another meal plan. I want to keep this nice, squeaky clean journal with the least possible number of slip ups as possible.
Nite nite all!
Alright girl! You're doing so well in your bright shiny new journal! I'm happy for you!
I've already been getting advice from people who are in maintenance on how to motivate myself when I get there. (Notice I said WHEN, not if! I'm learning.)
Seems the big trick is to keep giving yourself goals to achieve. Just not weight related goals. For example, I've always wanted to run a marathon. But at over 200 lbs, it ain't gonna happen. So one of my maintenance goals will be to train for the marathon. And to develop buff arms. So you might want to start thinking now of some health related, but not weight related, goals that you can set for yourself. Something you really, really, really want!
Have a great day Courtney! Keep up the fantastic work!
cccluvbug 07-03-03, 10:35 AM Good morning everyone! It's a bit rainy looking outside, but that's not going to ruin my beautiful lovely day!
Today the scale said I was 143! *pets the beautiful lovely scale*, lol. Now I'm two pounds lighter than the day I bought my wedding dress and if I can stay here (or maybe lose another 2 pounds), it's going to be just lovely. I was so worried that I was never gonna stop eating and that it wouldn't fit! I would have been so embarassed. :o
Anyway, I have a lovely meal plan for today. Later we're all going to Walmart and I can get some more yummy meal on the go bars. Plus some lettuce, tomatoes, baked potatoes and lowfat cheddar cheese.
That's also another one of my daily goals... to try to have a salad or a small side salad with one meal a day. Just a little nutritious thing that I wanna carry along with me...
Anyway... this is gonna be my meal plan:
Breakfast - SlimFast Peanut Butter Breakfast Bar, Cup of English Tea w/ 1/4 cup Skim Milk & sweetener
(6 grams of fat, 172.5 calories)
Lunch- Buffalo Chicken Breast, Cheddar & Bacon Potato Skins, Side Salad w/ Fat-Free Ranch Bacon Dressing (about 7.83 grams of fat, 467.5 calories)
Dinner- Cappuccino Delight SlimFast Shake
(1 gram of fat, 220 calories)
Snacks - Green Apple (0 grams of fat, 80 calories), 1/2 cup Healthy Choice Cappuccino Chocolate Chunk Icecream (2 grams of fat, 120 calories)
DAILY TOTAL = 16.83 grams of fat, 1060 calories
Again, snacks are only to be eaten if you REALLY want them.
Also, try taking hydroxycut before every meal. Yesterday I forgot and didn't take the one before lunch and ended up only taking two, but that's alright!
Try to shoot for 15-30 minutes of exercise.
I hope to make today as great as a day as yesterday!
Qvictoria 07-03-03, 11:31 AM Good luck, Courtney! That chicken salad sounds wonderful. Wish we had a Bob Evans here so I could have one for lunch! :)
cccluvbug 07-03-03, 11:50 PM Good evening everyone!
Just came home from work... the training is so intense... it does my head in! But other than that it was a good, good day. :) Being at work is a great weight loss tool... it keeps me away from the food, lol. It's so easy to over-eat if you're home all day. I get all bored and food turns out to be "something to do".
3 more days of work before my wedding day! I've only been at work for 3 days now and I need the honeymoon already, lol.
I didn't follow my meal plan exactly today.
I had what I planned for breakfast. And then instead of having just an apple for my first snack... I cored and baked the apple with a splash of vanilla and sprinkled on some cinnamon, popped it in the microwave for 5 minutes and mmm mmm good. I also had a cup of coffee with one teaspoon of coffee mate. It almost tasted like some kind of devishlish pseudo apple pie, lol. What a great way to eat an apple!
For lunch I was going to make my buffalo chicken breasts and potato skins speciality, and by the time we finally went to Walmart to get the ingredients, it was too late for me to cook it because I had to be at work in an hour... the meal takes an hour and 5 minutes to prepare! So instead I had a nice lazy meal of a Turkey, Broccoli and Cheese Lean Pocket, 1 oz of Fat-Free Pringles and a Diet Sprite. My mum-in-law had bought these buffalo chicken wings at the bakery at Walmart and I found it easy to say no to them, lol... I felt a little bad about it, but hey I gotta do what I gotta do.
And now I just finished my dinner... a nice can of cappuccino delight slimfast shake. Of all the shakes, I think it's the best tasting one.
I didn't have a chance to do any exercise today, but I was able to get in my 3 Hydroxycut, and I think I drank only 8 ounces of water. You'd swear I drank more with all the trips to the toilet I was making today!
Anyway, today's daily total was only 14.5 grams of fat and 827.5 calories.
Tomorrow morning I'll make the next meal plan.
Nite nite!
cccluvbug 07-04-03, 12:05 PM HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY TO EVERYONE!:sam: :tongue:atriot: :tongue:arty:
Today is just an absolutely, fantastic day! I stepped on the scale and I am at my goal weight of 140 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After almost a year on the long dieting rollercoaster ride, I'm finally at the weight that I want to be! According to the Body Mass Index, my BMI is 24, and I am FINALLY at a healthy weight! :D :D
Now for the "hard" part, lol... keeping myself at this weight, and trying my hardest to not over-eat. I am going to probably stay on SlimFast a couple more days so I can really make myself appreciate that one meal a day. Plus I have tons of SlimFast stuff left and since we're economizing this month for our lovely honeymoon in Florida, I can save us some money! At Walmart one meal on the go bar to help me keep my shape only costs $0.88 while a BigMac, fries and a soda would cost about $4.50 and would probably lead me to overeating the rest of the day. I'll take the SlimFast please!
Me and my fiancé have been trying to eat fish every Friday instead of only at lent so that's gonna be a part of today's menu...
Meal Plan
~*~*~*~*~*
Breakfast - SlimFast Chocolate Chip Chewy Granola Meal on the Go Bar
(6 grams of fat, 220 calories)
Lunch - SlimFast Lactose Free Café Mocha Shake blended with water, ice and a banana
(1.5 grams of fat, 280 calories)
Dinner - Oven Fried Fish & Shrimp, 1/2 cup Butter & Herb Mashed Potatoes, Side Salad - Lettuce, Tomatoes, Cucumber, Croutons and 2 Tbsp. Parmesan Peppercorn Ranch Dressing
(10.59 grams of fat, 446.75 calories)
Snacks - Fat-Free Strawberry or Peach Yogurt (0 grams of fat, 70 calories)
DAILY TOTAL = 18.09 GRAMS OF FAT, 1016.75 CALORIES
Again, only eat the snacks if you REALLY need them. Other than that... Bon appetit!
cccluvbug 07-05-03, 01:20 PM I still can't believe that after all this time, I'm finally at the weight I planned and struggled to be. I remember the day before I went on SlimFast for the first time, I was standing in front of my bedroom mirror, sideways, and I just looked at myself and said.. how in the world did I ever get to look this big. Then I started looking at old photos of myself when I use to be around 145 pounds and I told myself that I WAS going to look like that again... but it'll take a looong time. It took me around 1 1/2 years to put on the weight, and 1 year to take it back off again.
I really have to give lots of credit to the SlimFast diet.. I know I sometimes get frustrated with it because I'm not losing two pounds everyday, lol... and I should realize that when you are losing a large sum of weight like that, you will reach many plateaus, and I have. It sounds silly, but a big motivator that caused me to start SlimFast all over again was this SlimFast commercial I watched. It showed this girl who lost 50 or more pounds, and she was light black colored with blondish hair and she looked absolutely amazing! She was talking about how SlimFast gave her soo much energy, that now she was able to have daily jogs and stuff. I so wanted the same results as her! I'm almost tempted to write SlimFast a letter telling them of my success... but the only bad thing is, is that I HATED having my picture taken when I was heavier... it made me realize that I was heavy and I hated being reminded... so I only have a few pictures from back then, and I don't know if they're good enough or not.
It's been such a long trip!! Going down and up and down and up and so on... and I'm just so estatic that I'm finally here and I really hope to keep this journal nice and "clean" as long as possible!
Yesterday, I didn't have any of my snacks but I did eat all 3 meals as planned. I also drank a little more water... around 25 oz, which is an improvement from the 8 oz the day before. I also took all 3 Hydroxycut and I did my exercise - 21.5 minutes of Walk Away the Pounds - 1 mile. Not bad!
Today's Menu
~*~*~*~*~*~
Breakfast - Slim-Fast Mixed Berry Chewy Granola Meal on the Go Bar, Coffee w/ 1 tsp. Coffee Mate & Sweetener ~o)
(6.5 grams of fat, 235 calories)
Dinner - "Filet Mignon" w/ Jack Daniel's Grilling Sauce, Side Salad - Lettuce, Tomatoes, Cucumber, Croutons, Fat-Free Cheddar Cheese, Bacon Bits & Light Salad Cream, Baked Apple w/ Vanilla & Cinnamon
(18 grams of fat, 489 calories)
Snacks - Fat-Free Coconut Creme Pie Yogurt (0 grams of fat, 80 calories), Cream of Chicken Cup-a-Soup (2 grams of fat, 70 calories)
DAILY TOTAL = 26.5 GRAMS OF FAT, 874 CALORIES
Again, only have the snacks if you really need them. I didn't plan a Lunch because I woke up at 10:00 am... sleepy head me 8-} And I'm working from 2pm - 6pm today so I don't get a lunch break and I'll just have snacks if I get hungry. Not too many though!
I also plan on having about 2 Hydroxycut today, and doing some exercise. Dunno about the water just yet, lol... :water:
I hate going to the bathroom so much at work... I won't get anything else done!
I tried on my bikini this morning.... fiancé LOVED IT! :o
I'll probably at least stay on SlimFast until the wedding. And then I'm going to do my bestest to maintain and eat mainly yummy, good for me things.
Gonna do some exercise now before work... be back later!
Sherri0845 07-05-03, 02:57 PM  way to go Courtney! You have made an amazing journey in your weightloss quest and you have become a totally different person!! A much lighter, happier and healthier one..

cccluvbug 07-06-03, 10:35 AM Hiya everyone!
This is what I accomplished yesterday...
I took 1 Hydroxycut.
I exercised for 30.5 minutes to Walk Away the Pounds - 2 miles. I even had my mum-in-law try it with me!:D
I didn't drink much water... just about 4 - 6 oz. Shame, shame on me...
This is what I actually ate yesterday...
Breakfast - Slim-Fast Mixed Berry Chewy Granola Meal on the Go Bar, Coffee w/ 1 tsp. Coffee Mate & Sweetener
(6.5 grams of fat, 235 calories)
Snack 1 - Fat-Free Blueberry Yogurt
(0 grams of fat, 80 calories)
Snack 2- Sour Pop Sticks, Pickle
(0 grams of fat, 46 calories)
Dinner - Taco Bell - Beef Burrito Supreme, Pintos N' Cheese
(25 gr fat, 620 calories)
DAILY TOTAL = 31.5 GRAMS OF FAT, 981 CALORIES
I ate the breakfast like I planned, but when it came to the first snack, I asked my fiancé if he wanted of my fat free coconut creme pie yogurt and he said sure... and he was like, wow that's good, and i asked if he wanted it, he said yes, so i had the blueberry one instead. :)
We went shopping for wedding supplies... that's tomorrow!!! and I was soo hungry and I kept looking at the snacks and they had these candy wax things with sour stuff that were only 4 calories each and so I had about 7 and a pickle, lol... hey, at least I advoided the Mrs. Field's Chocolate Chip Cookies.
I was too lazy last night to cook dinner, so we went to Taco Bell. I ordered a Steak Gordita Supreme and Pintos and Cheese. I didn't realize that they have given me the wrong food, and if I took it back, everyone's food would have been cold. They had given me a Beef Burritio Supreme. The only thing they got right was the Supreme part! GRRR!! It was so not as nice as the Gorditas usually are and it added an uncessary 5-6 grams of fat and 150 calories to what I originally had planned. Oh well, I still only ate 981 calories yesterday anyway.
Today, for the 3rd day in a row... I am 140! Woohoo!
For breakfast today I'm gonna have a meal bar and coffee
No lunch cause I got to go to work... but I will probably have another yogurt before work, maybe a snack after work and the dinner that I had planned yesterday.
Today is going to be another great day!
Good job and good luck with the wedding tomorrow! Have a blast!
Congratulations on your wedding and reaching your goal!!!!

Sherri0845 07-18-03, 01:06 PM Hey Courtney...Come out come out wherever you are....:coach: Hey that honymoon has gotta be over by now...Where are you? We want details and pictures!!!!:D
cccluvbug 07-18-03, 06:43 PM Hiya everyone!
The wedding was spactacular! I was 140, exactly the weight I wanted to be! Looking back at some pictures that were taken then, I didn't look half bad. My husband :D (now I get to call him that!!), is going to make a webpage dedicated to the wedding and honeymoon one of these days so I'll give y'all a link when it's done.
The honeymoon was great, but it started going downhill from the start. When we arrived in Fort Lauderdale, we found out that they lost our luggage, grrr.... they said that they would sent it to our hotel and notify us when it came. So we drove to the hotel, and waited... waited.. and waited some more... until dh got upset and so called the airport and he was waiting in queue on the phone for 2 hours! Finally at 10:49 pm (we got to the hotel around noon), they said that they had delivered out luggage to the hotel at 3! They never even contacted us!! So that first day was almost a dud.. but that night made up for it ...*wink* *wink* :o
The second day we drove around and finally found a beach to go on in Boca Raton... and we stayed there for 3 1/2 hours... suntanning, i was eating my slimfast, boogie boarding, wave jumping, it was tons of fun! I felt like I was little bit burny so I decided that we should head back before we got all burnt...
HA! Talk about bad luck! When we got back about an hour later... we were burnt from head to toe... and for the next two days... we laid in bed doing nothing but whining about how burnt we were... how hot it was... how our skin was sticking to the sheets and it was just sad. :(
On the fourth day, half of it was wasted lying in bed and then I forced us out of bed and we did a little shopping.
Then the next few days, we went on a cruise down Millionaire's Row... looking at such beautiful houses and yachts.. we went on the Jungle Cruise for dinner and a show... and the night before we left... we went to Mai-Kai.. a polynesian dinner theatre where we enjoyed a Piu-Piu platter, thai red curry chicken, pineapple serbet, coffee and some other goodies.
Overall, it actually was quite lovely but the problem is, is that we were so depressed because of the sunburns, that I just gave up on my diet and we did nothing but watch tv or eat alot of the time that we weren't doing anything.
Sad to say, I gained about 10 pounds and I am no longer my goal weight... tonight is a pig roast that is being given by our estate, and this weekend is a church festival plus a wedding party my mom is throwing us, so this will be my grande finale of eating whatever I like. Today at Goodwill, I pleasantly asked my hubby for these two exercise videos and he said yes :D so now I have some new videos to look forward to! I'll probably be gone for the next couple days since we have to drive to the other side of the state this weekend... so on monday or tuesday... that's when I will redeem myself on a diet and hopefully get back to where i want to be...
LeesMarie79 07-18-03, 07:22 PM courtney-- glad you enjoyed your wedding and honeymoon. the website idea sounds great. just be glad your honeymoon didnt end up like that movie Just Married with ashton koucher and brittany murphy:) i cant wait to call my bf my HUSBAND.. it seems sooo wild to me.
the sunburn thing sounds like me. no matter what i do i burn. just my bad luck and fair skin.
hope you enjoy your grand finale and i am sure a lot of the gained lbs are a lot of water retention. regardless... congrats!!:)
Courtney,
So nice to hear from you. Thanks for dropping by.
Wow, what a honeymoon. Glad to hear you 'took control' and got you two moving again, lol. Good girl!!!

cccluvbug 07-21-03, 10:19 AM Hiya everyone! My husband made the wedding website! Woohoo! You can all see it here at http://www.confuse.me.uk/ourwedding :)
cccluvbug 07-22-03, 11:53 AM Blah. Just Blah.
I stepped on the scale today and it said 156. Again... blah. Only two weeks ago I was at my long awaited goal weight of 140. blah
I guess it's back to the old drawing board. I'm hoping to at least get back to 144 by this time next month. I'm going to eat healthily... 1200 calories a day, 39 grams of fat, drink water, and exercise.
I will not let any more of these unwanted pounds creep up on me.
It's pathetic that I can't get myself to watch it when I'm finally done dieting. I just go back to my old eating habits and eat EVERYTHING in sight.
I don't want to be handcuffed to dieting forever! I want to actually be able to stay at a weight! I guess I'm learning this the hard way... again. :(
Sherri0845 07-22-03, 02:27 PM Patience is a virtue, Courtney!! It will happen again!! You can do it..Besides you were on your honeymoon so you had the right to not exercise and enjoy it..Dont beat yourself up to bad because you will get off those unwanted pounds in no time!! You can do it and will!! :coach: take care and be good! :peace:
Sherri0845 07-22-03, 02:52 PM By the way Courtney, I just saw the wedding video and the pics and I just wanted to thank you guys for sharing those with all of us..It was a beautiful day and the pics were great!! LeesMarie79 07-22-03, 08:33 PM courtney-- your wedding site is absolutely adorible and your day looked very very special. thanks for sharing...
cccluvbug 07-24-03, 11:51 AM I'm so glad you guys got a chance to look at the wedding site! Thanks! :)
Yesterday I weighed in at 156 again and I'm not going to weigh myself until 07/30/03. It's so much anticipation, lol!
Yesterday, I also started the Atkins diet, the 3rd time I've ever tried it. I've had such cravings lately of eggs, cheese and my husbands favorite meal is a bacon wrapped piece of steak... aka filet mignon, and a side salad that is just loaded with cheese and ranch dressing... so our tastes our fitting together quite well. :D
I've had success with atkins the other two times I've tried them, but never had the patience to gradually have carbs. I would just say... I QUIT! And then just go eat that box of cereal. I think not being allowed chocolate and icecream use to make me get off of it too... and now after researchoing enough... it says that you don't count sugar alcohol, fiber or glycerine as part of the net carbs, and I never knew that before! So at Walmart yesterday me love let me get an Atkins Endulge Peanut Butter Cup 3-Pack, and since it says not to count sugar alcohols, I took a look at Nestle Turtles Sugar Free Peanut... and it's carbs were 18, 1 from fiber and 15 from sugar alcohol, which I'm hoping that means I can have three mini ones for only 2 carbs! I'm all excited now, lol. It's not like I'm gonna only eat these close to carb free candy all day... just maybe one mini turtle like yesterday which totally cured my chocolate craving. They also have that LeCarb Icecream... I was a bit hesitant at first because it said 6 carbs, but since 2 are from glycerine, it will only count as 4, yay! Next time we go shopping and if I've finished all my other goodies by then, that will be bought!
Anyway, I really hope I have some success with this diet and I have the patience to stick with it this time. I like the idea of being "allowed" to have a snack if I have a craving and there is no creature over my shoulder telling me I have a limit each day. There are tons of carb free things around the house if I get hungry. And that is a very big IF. My menu might look a big from yesterday, but it was nothing compared to what I've been eating these last few weeks. After the meal, I was satisified and went on to doing my every day business, instead of sitting on the couch, cotemplating my next snack..
It also gave me the energy to FINALLY get back into exercise, plus I drank much more water than before. So these are just some of the positives from this diet that I'm looking forward to, and I'm so glad for this website so I can vent my feelings to get me through the day. :)
This was my menu and stuff from yesterday:
Breakfast- 2 eggs, 2 slices Reduced Fat Bacon, Coffee w/ 1 tsp. CoffeeMate, Slice of Cheese (5 carbs)
Lunch- Pink Salmon & Slice of Deli Style Cheese fried in Vegetable Oil, 8 green olives, 15 slices of Turkey Pepperoni, Diet Vanilla Coke (2 carbs)
Snack- Beef Jerky (4 carbs)
Dinner - "Filet Mignon", 3/4 cup Iceberg Lettuce w/ Colby Cheese, 1/2 a Pickle and Three Cheese Ranch Dressing, Sugar Piece Peanut Turtle (7.5 carbs)
DAILY TOTAL: 18.5/20 Net Carbs
Water Intake- 44 oz
Exercise- 30.5 minutes of Walk Away the Pounds - 2 miles
Sherri0845 07-24-03, 08:04 PM  Good luck with the Atkins Courtney!!
I hope it works out for you..It is a little strict for the first 2 weeks but gets easier after that I think..I hope that it gets you where you want to be..Take care and be good! :peace:
LeesMarie79 07-24-03, 08:29 PM hey courtney
I went on atkins a couple years ago and got down to about 200.. i was around 230 when i started. i lost quickly and i enjoyed eating as much as i want as long as my carbs stayed low. After a while i got tired of eating eggs and cheese and meat... how could that be?? lol. i dont know.. but anyways i quit.. bad move. i got up to my highest weight then.. 241 ugh. it is a great method for losing if you can handle the low carbs but i just missed so many high carb things that i couldnt take it no more. i also used to get extremely painful cramps in my calves every morning when i woke up. i am pretty sure that that could have been corrected with a vitamin suppliment though.
some of the things i used to eat on atkins were so unbelieveably great tasting that i couldnt believe i lost weighteating that way. i used to layer cooked hamburg, sour cream and cheddar cheese and bake it in the oven. talk about good!!! and i used to make this yummy low carb cheesecake and eat a slice for breakfast. one of myfav things to make was tacos . i used shredded cheddar to make taco "shells" it was amazing that it actually worked. all you do is sprinkle the cheese in a thin layer on the bottom of a small skillet and let it melt. when that side gets hard you can pick it up on the edge with a fork and flip it. man i used to eat those things just like that.
ahh the atkins days. too bad i missed my carbs too much:( lol
take care and good luck with atkins...
oh yea... i forgot to mention i think you looked beautiful on your wedding day!!!!:)
cccluvbug 07-24-03, 10:56 PM LeesMarie... do you have a recipe for atkins cheesecake? I haven't had a chance to find one yet... thanks!

LeesMarie79 07-25-03, 01:19 PM court-- i do have that recipe at my moms. when i stop over there tomorrow i will make sure i will come by your journal and post it for you. its a pretty simple recipe.
cccluvbug 07-26-03, 02:14 PM Hiya everyone! Today's my 4th day of Atkins, woohoo! :)
Yesterday was alright, but I think I ate too many snacks... I did drink a good amount of water and managed to get some exercise in. Today I'm off from work and I'm hoping to get a good, fat-blasting workout in.
Here is yesterday's stuff...
Breakfast- 2 Scrambled Eggs w/ 6 L'il Beef Smokie Links and 1 slice of Sharp Cheddar Cheese (4 carbs)
Snack 1- Pork Cracklings (0 carbs)
Snack 2- 2 oz Beef Summer Sausage & Colby Cheese w/ Mustard (1 carb)
Lunch- 2 HotDogs w/ 1 Tbsp. Easy Cheese, Pork Cracklings (3 carbs)
Snack 3- 2 Sugar-Free Peanut Turtles (2 carbs)
Dinner- 5 Chicken Wing Drummettes w/ 2 Tbsp. Buffalo Wing Sauce and 2 Tbsp. Three Cheese Ranch Dressing, Deviled Eggs made w/ 2 eggs, 1 Tbsp. Light Mayo, Mustard and Paprika, 1/2 cup LeCarb Chocolate Almond Frozen Dessert, Diet Mt. Dew (9 carbs)
DAILY TOTAL: 19/20 Net Carbs
Water Intake- 60 oz
Exercise - 16 minutes of The Firm Time Crunch Workout
I'm like totally obsessed with the Atkins website, lol. I like it alot... tons of free info and recipes but the catch is their expensive stuff... blah. Maybe for my birthday I'll treat myself to something off of it.
Does anyone know how to make an Atkins bread mix recipe? I found the revolution roll recipe from the recipe/bread section here, and another recipe for "mash not-potato" recipe, and i took a few minutes to figure out the net carbs to a bunch of veggies... so a nice piece of steak, "mash potatoes" a "roll" and a side of green beans plus "chocolate chip cookies" for dessert or a cup of Le Carb Chocolate Almond Dessert... ahh this diet sounds like such a bliss. I'm still not getting sick of the fattening breakfasts, lol. I know I've only been on it 4 days and I'm loving each day more and more... I had a sneak peek at the scale today... and the first time I weighed it said 154, and the second time said 152... so at least I'm losing and not gaining, lol... whew!
I'm also changing my goal weight. Even when I did reach 140... I kept thinking that I was fat, plus having another, new goal to shoot for probably will make me stay on this diet longer and keep me from always quitting within 5 pounds of getting there. My new goal weight will be 125. This way if I do quit *crossing fingers that I don't* I'll still be in the 130's! Wow... I really can't remember the last time I was in that range!
Anyway, I really hope today goes just as well as the others and I hope that workout will be great! ta ta for now!
Hey CCC,
Glad to see you back at it.
Hey what is this talk of quitting when within 5 pounds. You have to stay here you just get to be a maintainer then and show us all how to do it!!!
No more of the 'Q' word anymore. Please.:c(
Have fun, the weight will come off quick.
cccluvbug 07-27-03, 10:03 AM Hello again everyone!
Yesterday was a good day too... we went to Walmart and I got tons of fattening ingredients to make cheesecake (LeesMarie I found a recipe!), atkins rolls and joanne's chocolate chip cookies that I found from the recipe section. Plus some strawberry LeCarb Icecream. :D *licks lips* This diet is so lush! lol
I HIGHLY enjoyed my workout that I did yesterday, it was fantabulous!
Here's the stuff from yesterday...
Breakfast- 1 egg, 6 Li'l Beef Smokies Links and 1 slice of Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Coffee w/ 1 tsp. CoffeeMate (5 carbs)
Snack 1 - Pork Cracklins and Colby Cheese (0 carbs)
Dinner - 2 Cheddar Wursts, 3/4 cup Iceberg Lettuce, 1 oz Roasted Garlic Cheese, 4 green olives, and 2 Tbsp. Three Cheese Ranch Dressing, 1/2 cup LeCarb Chocolate Almond Frozen Dessert (12.5 carbs)
DAILY TOTAL: 17.5/20 Net Carbs
Water Intake- 76 oz
Exercise - 36 minutes of Crunch Fat Blaster II The Challenge
I'm very impressed of how much water I've been drinking these last days... maybe cause I'm not "allowed" anything else because aspartame is apparently not good during this diet... but I do tend to sneak in a coffee occasionally :lil:
Today I'm off again, woohoo! I'm hoping to get in another great workout!
Byebyes for now!
smallfri 07-27-03, 10:05 AM Havent forgotten about you just need to remember to buy an envelope .
So sorry.
cccluvbug 07-27-03, 01:30 PM Hiya smallfri!! Thank you so much for wanting to send me that tape. :) I really appreciate it.
Cheers!
cccluvbug 07-28-03, 11:51 AM Yesterday I was kind of bad and snuck in my hubby's icecream and added it to my Le Carb so he didn't know, lol... then I added some chocolate peanut butter... bad bad me!!
I guess I was just depressed how I have my heart set into this Atkin's diet but I just haven't been doing it correctly.
Today I went back to the Atkinds website and reread Induction on How to do Atkins and took careful notes..
I was eating NOTHING close to the 2 - 3 cups of vegetables a day... I was basically replacing them with LeCarb, which should NOT be included in induction.
I was eating WAY too many processed meats with added nitrates, but I'm afraid there's not too much I can do about those, because we are not grocery shopping again until Saturday.
Next time instead of sausages, I will buy chicken breasts, turkey and fresh hamburger.
I also kept sneaking in coffee and soda, which is also not allowed.
So now it's back to the old drawing board..
I will:
a) get in my 2 - 3 cups of vegetables a day
b) allow myself a maximum of 3 - 4 oz of cheese
c) limit myself to the processed meats and by this time next week, will have tried to totally eliminate them and replace them with pure, natural meat/poultry with no carbohydrates.
d) not eat anything that isnt on the acceptable foods list
e) keep drinking my water and..
f) keep trying to exercise
cccluvbug 07-29-03, 08:43 AM Hiya everyone!
Yesterday I followed the Induction rules to the letter and I am estatic to report that I am a 3 pounds thinner woman! Woohoo!
Scale went from 154 to my now 151.
I guess I must have really been doing it wrong! I know I was having like 2 -3 snacks a day that were sometimes as big as a usual meal. Anyway, here's the stuff from yesterday...
Day 1) Monday, July 28, 2003 - 154 pounds
Breakfast (4 carbs)- Omelette made with 2 eggs, 1/2 cup mushrooms, 1 oz Roast Garlic Cheese
Lunch (5.4 carbs)- Pepperoni, 2oz Mozarella Cheese, 2 cups of lettuce, 4 green olives and 2 Tbsp. Three Cheese Ranch Dressing
Dinner (7 carbs)- "Filet Mignon" aka Bacon Wrapped Beef Filet , 1/2 cup Mushrooms in Butter, 2 deviled eggs made from 2 eggs, 1 Tbsp. mayo and paprika
DAILY TOTAL: 16.4/20 Net Carbs
Water Intake- 70 oz
Exercise- 28.5 minutes of Perfectly Fit Abs, 15 minutes of Walk Away the Pounds
I'm still shocked at how much water I've been drinking. Usually I only drink between 30 - 48 oz, but this fat's just made me so thirsty, lol. I'm also very glad that I've started my exercise up again. I haven't joined the exercise chat in a bloody long time because of either work or last comic standing took my attention away. I'm hoping to join again today and I'm hoping to help boost those minutes.
It's around 7:40am... work still hasn't called back with my schedule... so I'm going to take this lovely time to either take a walk or find some exercise on the tele.
Byebyes for now!
cccluvbug 07-30-03, 08:01 AM Hiya everyone!
Yesterday was a great day too! :) I exercised twice and it felt wonderful. I drank even more water than the first. I also lost one more pound and now am down to 150. This diet actually does work if followed properly and I'm so glad I chose to start over than to quit altogether...

Sherri0845 07-30-03, 12:29 PM Your menus sound delicious Courtney!! wow, yum ,yum.. :chef:
cccluvbug 07-31-03, 12:34 PM Hiya everyone!
Well I'm gonna quit Atkins, for at least a year. Why?? you ask. Because I took a pregnancy test yesterday and it came out positive! There might be a chance that I'm pregnant! I'm going to test again in two weeks and if it comes out positive again, then I'm gonna schedule an appointment with a doctor to confirm it. I'm so estatic! :D Me... a mommy! :D
Anyway, I'm going to basically just eat healthily. No diets, no starving myself, no gorging... just eat wholesome fruits, veggies, grains, protein, calcium... everything for the little baby... if there is one. A few months ago just for the heck of it I bought two exercise videos at $1.50 each... Kathy Smith's Pregnancy Workout and Nancy Anderson's Stepping Through Pregnancy. I didn't know it'd be so soon, lol.
Anyway, I'm gonna do some research on exercising during pregnancy because I want more than anything for this baby to be healthy and strong... if there is one.
Sherri0845 08-01-03, 12:27 AM  Congratulations Courtney , Mother to be if that is the case :rose:
Wow, that is so sweet for you..I hope that you have a very safe and happy pregnancy if you are prego...Good luck and take care!
sandielynne 08-01-03, 12:41 AM Congratulations Courtney,
I do hope that the pregnancy holds true. That would be great news, for hubby too, I'm sure.
I have missed you in the chat room, so I came to see how you were doing. I never expected to read such good news. I'm sure the pregnancy test will most likely prove true. They are fairly dependable now days.
Take care and stop by now and then when you can. It would be great to chat with you again.
LeesMarie79 08-03-03, 08:13 PM possible-congrats court!!!!!!
i wish the best for you and for your maybe-baby!! i cant wait to hear the official news!
aria2000 08-06-03, 11:58 PM Hello Courtney!
I really hope your wish comes true and you are pregnant!
I will check with you again later :)
Hey there Courtney,
First of all, congrats, almost, lol.
And since you have been exercising for so long now you can probably just maintain your fitness regime. It will be great for baby and will make it easier for you to bounce back to your pre-pregnancy body. May make that 'wonderful' delivery time better too if you keep strong and fit.
Good to check with your doctor though, but don't stop exercising completely.
