Hi I'm Jen and I am just getting started AGAIN!!!! This is my first week! The third day! I did not exercise today. I ate some chocolate and I'm down on myself already. I have a very busy lifestyle and am finding that my whole life centers around food. This is the time my husband and I spend together (Out to dinner) the time my family spends together (dinner at the table) The time I spend with friends (out to dinner). I know I need to get some other interests! My first goal is to get down to normal serving sizes. I have cooked only enough food for the number of people eating. This is helping I think. I'm having the most trouble with afternoons. My goal is 155 - I am curently at 240 That's 85LBS.

Well, Jen, you are headed in the right direction. I've started a million times and never seem to get past the first three hours!! 3 Days is great in my book. Congratulations for making it that far.

We all slip somewhat, but you just have to forget it and get back to what you need to be doing. Just remember that you will never reach your goal if you don't stick to it. (That's something I have to keep reminding myself!)

I, too, seem to center myself around food. Every get together with family is surrounded by a meal (or two). There has to be more to do with the ones we love than eat!! If you find it, please let me know.

I'm behind you, just keep at it.

Good Luck!!

Bravo Jen on 3 days :)

Yes, it's tough. Like you , my family activities are constantly centered around food.

Here's a tip>>>>

Try to plan ahead and include some foods that are healthy and allowed on your food plan so you won't feel left out.

Drink at least 4 glasses of water before the function to help fill you up.

If you are visiting, bring a low-cal dessert along so you'll know that there is something special for you.

Keep trying !!!!!

One day at a time, one pound at a time and you will reach your goal. You did not gain 85 pounds overnight, you won't lose it overnight.

Try rewarding yourself for every so many days on plan, maybe 5 to start ? Then move up to a bigger reward for 10, etc.

Visit us in Diettalk chat for that extra motivation whenever you can. It really has helped me a lot.

Good luck in your endeavors...

Thanks for the support cocoon! I had 4 days today! Went for a 35 minute walk with my daughter. It felt really good, it was a beautiful evening! I will try your suggestions this weekend. The kids and I are heading to Grandma's house, luckily my dad is on a low fat diet. That will help!
I will keep going, Writing in here and getting support is sure going to help! Thanks again!
I will let you know how I did when I get back after the weekend!

Jen, like you, I am starting again. I have no ideas how many times that I have done that. I want to lose about 75 pounds. One pound at a time. I want to do it right!

I went to my mom and dad's with the notion that I would do the best that I could while I was there. I did do okay! I passed on a few things like ice cream and waffles after I had already eaten. I even walked 3 miles on Saturday! Today I am tired after the long drive and my husband wants to go to the ice cream place for dinner. ( I already ate. Like I said everything we do centers around FOOD) I will go along! I can go and still be good! I lost 5 pounds this week and am pumped! I know that next week will be harder because it's my week to retain Lake Superior! Does anyone have any suggestions for water retention? I am already drinking 2liters of water a day. Next week I will feel very FAT! It's hard to stay motivated then!
Cocoon congrats on the close to 100! I am so proud of you (((((HUGS))))) from me too!

Hi Jen! Today my son had a bowl of Moose Tracks ice cream at an outlet mall. I had 2 bites, that's it! That is my favorite ice cream right now, and boy do I have alot of favorites!! I have been journaling everything that goes into my mouth, with how I feel when I do it. I was very proud of myself with the i.c. because I didn't order a bowl for myself. I also didn't knock my son out and eat the whole bowl!!!!!!!!
