View Full Version : Working my way back
pookie66 07-13-03, 10:40 PM Going to try this again, and see if I can actually stick with it. I fell apart months ago, and completely lost track of journal posts. I have gone through many things during my time away, the biggest one being from 280 when I first joined diettalk to being 247 as of last Mondays weigh in. I have moved, gotten fired, found a new job and slowing trying to get back on track.
Tomorrow is a new day. and will start posting my daily schedule again.
it all starts with a single step huh

pookie66 07-18-03, 11:14 AM Whatever this bug is I have, I don't like it. Ididn't even survive work last night. Completely unreal. I don't usually get sick like this. Now my throat is killing me, my stomach feels like I have a monster in it (sounds like it too) I have a job interview at 9 this morning. So I have to pretend to feel great! Other than the interview, I am not going anywhere. And hope I can survive work tonight.
mdonna612 07-18-03, 01:39 PM Pookie
Where is the fun and family time in that schedule.
You seem so down but maybe your expectations of your day is partly to blame. You are so much more than the schedule you project.

ivoryrose 07-18-03, 05:11 PM Hey you! I have no advice... :tomato: ... hee hee :D just stopping by to say howdy and hoping you are having a wonderful day! :D How do you like journaling? I haven't been doing it every day, but it is a good pulse check. Anyway, see ya later alligator!
pookie66 07-21-03, 11:15 AM Busy day for me. Get to work!! Here is today's agenda:
7:15 start dropping kids off at school (First day of school! WOOHOO!!!)
8:30 work
5:00 go home (hopefully I won't have to go pay the truck payment!!)
6:00 dinner
7:00 cuddle time with the birthday boy and family.
Today is the first day back to school. And my son's birthday. But gotta go drop kids off. Will post again tomorrow morning!
pookie66 07-22-03, 10:38 AM I never realized just how out of shape I was until I started working a job that means I am on my feet all day!! My back, legs, feet, and arms hurt so much right now. It has been a busy few days so I haven't had a chance to soak in the tub.
Schedule is the same as yesterday. Take kids to school, work, come home, and cuddle!
pookie66 08-12-03, 11:51 PM I was hoping to have been able to keep a good journal this time around, but I fell off the wagon again.
Things have been good and bad for me. Everything from starting to walk again, to getting rear-ended by a punk a^^% kid who wanted to beat the light.
Things are starting to look up for me. I have begun walking again (this morning) The doctor hasn't cleared me to do so yet, but I am being very careful and taking my time and not over do it. I will come in tomorrow morning and post my daily plans.
monicapink 08-13-03, 12:16 AM Your success will be achieved ..... we ALL GO OFF TRACK but our success happens by our persistence in GETTING BACK ON TRACK.
Take it easy. As always, Monica :wn
ivoryrose 08-13-03, 05:03 PM You can do this pook! Good job getting back on track...one step at a time is the best we can all do! Take care buddy!
pookie66 08-13-03, 11:26 PM Forgot to come in this morning. (Minor brain malfunction) Today was a ok day. Didn't do much of anything though. Kind of just vegetated. Went for a walk this morning. Made some phone calls, and surprisingly, took 3 naps. I know. THREE naps. tomorrow will be alot more productive!! I promise myself to remember to come in tomorrow morning.
pookie66 08-15-03, 12:35 AM How pathetic am I? I forget to come in again, and instead of having a productive day, I slept. But in my defense, I did have another killer headache. Went to work, and came home. Tomorrow I don't have a clue as to what I am doing. ALL the kids are now in school, and Chris has the day off tomorrow. I suppose we could just lounge around the house all day. Chris has a computer job in the afternoon, and we have a madlibs party to go to tomorrow night. But other than that, no plans.
On the good side, Ashlee made the team for volleyball!!
pookie66 08-30-03, 01:04 PM This has been a rough couple of weeks for me. My mother calls me 2 Tuesday ago, and tells me that my grandfather is in the hospital with an aorta anryrism that was 8 mm in size. She said they can't do surgery (because of his age) and they can't put a stint in because they need at least an inch on either side of it, and it's not there. The doctors said that there was a 75% chance it would burst with in a year. Well, that lasted 1 week, this past Tuesday it burst and my grandfather died in his sleep at 2:24 pm. I'm grateful that he died in his sleep. At least he didn't suffer. Then on Wednesday my dad calls me and tells me that he is going in to have quadruple bypass surgery on Friday. It took him forever to convince me that he was ok. The doctors said he has a healthy, strong heart. He would eventually need the surgery, but went ahead and had now because it increases his chances of getting on the transplant list for a new kidney. He is doing well. They moved him out of ICU yesterday. And on good notes, I started working out 2 weeks ago. I joined a gym. And I try to walk every day. And I just got hired on on Thursday to clean houses. It's full time, physical work, and pays better than the job at chevron. I start on Tuesday.
BlueEyez 08-31-03, 11:55 AM Just stopping in for a quick visit. hope you are doing better. I know things have been stressful for you lately. But we are all thinking of you. Hope you have a nice weekend. Been missin ya.
pookie66 09-01-03, 11:47 AM That means in 20 days I will officially be in my "late-thirties". Ok, now what I want to know is where are my late-twenties? Where did they go? Seriously, age isn't a big deal to me. Age is a state of mind. I have always said that when I can't picture the birth of my oldest child like it was yesterday, then I will be getting old. Today, I will start keeping track of my food intact. The past 2 weeks, I have only been watching what I eat, and starting the exercise. Now I am on week 3, so time to add a little bit more to the walking, and start keeping track of the food intake. Bought a couple of cases of slim-fast that were on sale. Been doing the powder lately, so I got all the right stuff, now I just need to put it all together.
pookie66 09-03-03, 01:44 AM Day 2- Exercise was great. walked 2.5 miles this morning. Clean 2 houses today. Full house cleanings, major work out. didn't go to the gym tonight. Will do that tomorrow. Food wise I sucked. I didn't over eat or eat the wrong foods, just ate too much of the right foods. :c( Tomorrow will be a better day.
monicapink 09-03-03, 11:02 AM WITHOUT A DOUBT YOU WILL MAKE IT A TERRIFIC DAY; our successes are earned ..... AND THE THREE KEYS TO THAT SUCCESS ARE FOLLOWING AN EXERCISE :ex: REGIMEN .... DRINKING OUR :water: AND OUR WEIGHT LOSS PLAN You're going to succeed .... you have the determination and the ability TO SUCCEED. Make it a great day. As always, Monica
ivoryrose 09-03-03, 12:39 PM Pook,
Hope you are having a GREAT day 3!!!! I can't tell you how many times I have lamented eating too much of the "right" food. Don't ya hate it when you do that? But you know what, even after my labor day pig-a-thon, I know we can both get back on track, eat those healthy foods, exercise our buns off, and get healthy!!! See ya on the thread buddy! --Ivy
pookie66 09-04-03, 01:02 AM Day 3 wasn't too bad. Had 3 jobs today. 2 of them cancelled at the door. Bummer..no pay for those. the third house was huge. 3 people took us 2 hours to clean it. Lots of marble, tile, and glass. 3500 square feet.
Food wise I did really good. 2 slim fast shakes, a lean pocket breakfast thingie, and 2 cups of milk. Now just need to have some dinner so my intake is not so low.
Exercise was another great day. Didn't go for my walk, but the 2 hours of hard work cleaning that house, and then working out at the gym, I think I did pretty good.
IR~ I really hate it now when I don't eat right or pig out. Drives me almost to the point of tears. I know I am not suppose to do it, but sometimes it just feels like I can't control myself. Make sense??
monicapink 09-21-03, 03:21 PM Hi Pookie, WANTING TO WISH YOU A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY :bd CELEBRATING WITH FAMILY :balloons: Make sure you enjoy your day .... take care of yourself. As always, Monica
