I didn't get in my minimum exericise...and i only journaled one day. I did 15 min of aerobics one day, 45 another and took one 10 min speed walk. definitely could have done better, and :tomato: i guess i will keep the same goals in place for week 3. darnit...i've got to make some progress. Next week is my last week of school, trying to get all my clinical hours in (cramming them, literally) and then its into job interviews. Oh well...must try to prepare for this stress. I went to my chiropractor today and she used to go to WW. Lost about 50 pounds and kept it off. She gave me all of her info and books and pamphlets. Am going to try the points program. Might feel less difficult than trying to force myself to eat better. Hope i can do it this week. Needing some encouragement. See you guys next week.

Brenz,

You did good. I firmly believe baby steps are in order when one is just starting. If you went full guns at the beginning you'd get discouraged and stop. Instead you did something. Each week build on it - increasing the frequency and length of exercise.

Following the WW points should help. Just make sure to get a good mix of healthy food. Don't use up all your points on junk.

And as for journalling, I'm with you. My goal for right now is to journal a minimum of 3x per week. Once I've nailed that I'll increase to 4X and then 5x.

Keep at it!

Hello and welcome,

I agree about the baby steps. build up to a good routine w/ your program.
as for ww points its a good plan. i am on it now. was on it when i started a yr ago and lost quickly and was doing well then holidays came and i had set backs and was gaining and through desperation to lose the gained wt i turned to quick fixes. i tried cabbage soup diet and lasted 2 days, i did slim fast and i did starving. none worked but the points do if followed and exercise helps. i do the Leslie Sanstone WATP tapes. and i ride my exercise bike. if you use up points on high cal foods then you will be hungry cuz the points add up quick. now i eat low cal/low fat and i have to fight to get minimum points and i am losing each week again.
there are alot of low point foods and snacks and drink lots of water. if you need help or have any questions, feel free to PM me or visit my journal Minnies journey. the ww is a healthy lifestyle plan where you can follow it for a lifetime cuz it doesnt make you restrict any foods. but it does make you count them and practice portion size control. i have 1 treat day a week where i dont count points, usually on a saturday and if i do well all the other days i still lose well.

take care.

Thanks...that was just the encouragement i needed. I just sort of felt like i was making excuses. Not to make empty promises, but after next Friday(my last clinical) I will have more time for exercise and hopefully more focus to eat right. I'll be going back to 8 hr shifts several times a week(and getting paid!) which will not exhaust me as much and i will be able to plan my intake better. Thanks again.
