I was just curious, and new to this whole South Beach thing. I tried Atkins, but it was FAR too restricting. Anyway, I know that phase 1 ends after 2 weeks...how long is phase 2, and I'm assumming you stay on phase 3 indefinately right? Thanks to all who respond!

Welcome to SBD Forum.
At the beginning of the forum, you will find 3 sticky threads, that tell what foods and meal serving suggestions for each Phase of SBD
Phase 1 is the first 2 weeks
Phase II is the remainder of the time until you reach goal.
Phase III is for maintainence.
But Phase I and II are also for rescues.
During Phase II, if you sould eat overmuch, and gain, you can go back to Phase I for a week or two until you get back to where you had left off in Phase II before the gain.
The same with Phase III, if during maintainance, you find you have slipped up, you go back to Phase II, or even Phase I if you want, to get back to goal weight.
That is what makes SBD a way of eating program rather than just a "Diet." It is adjustable in it's way, very easy to live with, and so simple to follow.

Welcome Redcinders, So nice to meet you and glad that you are thinking about the SBD. I just started Phase 2 and I love this whole idea of what the SBD Plan stands for. This is the best support group I have found! We are in this together and WE CAN DO THIS! I feel so great on this plan and it is so easy to follow and the foods are so good too.
