Okey dokey. I've been MIA since June I think. Just have had a rough summer so far.
I just got an email about my 10 year class reunion. :c(
I'm not going to add up my calories as of yet...I'm just going to work on writing down everything I eat for the first week or so. I need to ease into this, last time I went too gung ho and got burned out too fast.
My first goal is to lose 5 pounds by September 1. I think that's do-able for me.
So here goes:
Today so far:
Breakfast: Watermelon, strawberry & banana smoothie
Snack: Slice banana bread, no nuts
Lunch: Slim Fast drink
Snack: Froot Loops cereal bar
See ya all around sooner or later.

Okay - so the end of yesterday pretty much went downhill. But since I am only in the write down and see what my tendencies are stage, that's okay.
I finished the day with
Dinner: baked potato chips & a BBQ chicken sandwich
Snack: sm. bag of cheezits (at school - the vending machine was calling my name the whole time. My class is so dull that I need something to keep myself occupied and it tends to be food. Thank goodness Thursday night is the last night of that class.)
THEN when I got home, one of my husband's clients had given him fried chicken wings (the best fried chicken ever I think). So at 10:00 at night I had four of them. Thank goodness they were only the little wings.
So anyway, for today so far I have had:
Breakfast: mango smoothie & slice of banana bread.
So here's my first & second tendencies that I have noticed:
1. If I am bored, I find myself eating (like in class last night).
2. I am hungry late at night right before bed (falling victim to the fried chicken).
So, I need to start by trying to figure out a strategy to conquer those.
Any ideas much appreciated.
Have a great day.

Hi BlueGirl, I don't think you did so bad for your first day. I to am a boredom eater. It's a hard one to break, for me I want to eat while in the car, because it keeps me busy. I wish I had a secret cure for you, but the only thing I've found that works is plan old will power.
As to the late night hunger, what I do is go to bed. If I'm faced with either eating or sleeping go with the latter, because sleep is the one thing that none of us gets enough of. I know the wings are sitting right there talking to you :) , so brush your teeth and do everything else you would do to get ready for bed. Just getting ready can sometimes be enough to break the need for that food, but if all else fails, go to sleep. Heck, you'll feel so much better in the morning.
Hang in there. I'm sure you'll make your goal, plus some by September.

Thanks Vtmom...those cravings are a bear to deal with, huh?
So...more food for today:
Snack: Blueberry/banana juice
Lunch: Salad w/lite dressing, 1/2 pita bread
Snack: Cereal bar
Now I get to tackle the drive home. I'm taking some crackers with me, and hopefully that will be enough until I get home & can get involved with homework enough to keep me from eating.
Ciao til tomorrow.

So yesterday ended with:

Dinner: Rice, orange chicken, 2 fried shrimps & a few crab rangoons (yep - take out Chinese yet again) Quality=Bad, Quantity=Not Bad
Today so far:
Breakfast: Watermelon, banana & strawberry smoothie
Snack: Blueberry banana juice
Lunch: Slim Fast pasta (BLECH!) & Froot Loop cereal bar
Snack: A few jelly belly jelly beans
So, tonight's school so we'll see how that goes. I have no idea what's doing for dinner, guess I should start figuring that out now!
