Hey Ruth,

So nice to see you back. Your friends are here and we are all working to keep each other going.

Don't worry, we have all struggled too, but glad you are here and we can encourage you. We can do this, just a step at a time though.

Hang in there.

Well today was not great I'm so sick at my stomach all the time...it is my gallbladder. ( Well my doctor thinks so ) anyway just wanted to check in I'm doing a lot of soul searching tonight about weightloss. I'm asking myself what would it take to make myself change? I just do not have the answer yet. Ruthieb

Hey Ruth,

Thanks for stopping by my journal, sounds like quite the excitement at Walmart for sure. I only like to be home when there is a thunderstorm. Glad you are ok.

I know what you mean about soul searching and the weight issues. Glad you are doing it actually. I think it is important to take the timeyou need to think things through and descided what you want/need to do.

I have struggled most of the summer. Some health things got in my way back in June but then I couldn't get back on track again.
I am starting to feel a coming back, but just baby steps.

Anyways, this is the place to be, no matter what you are feeling like. Doesn't help me not to be here that is for sure.

I'm so glad you have a journal...to me it's kinda like having a home here. Where friends can just stop by each other's porch or clothesline and say "hi" and sit a spell and go on.
Ruthie, the gallbladder thing...I had to have mine out several years ago...I didn't know mine was my gallbladder, because when I first started having symptoms, I was about 6 months pregnant and I thought I was losing the baby or having contractions or whatever...went to the ER and they did an ultra sound and sent me home and said it was just severe "gas"....so I suffered with "severe gas" for a couple of years on and off...Excrutiating pain...I had several bouts when I couldn't sleep or do anything for 3-4 days at a time...I was really young and took their word...But one day, I could barely walk and went to the pharmacy for some rolaids....and the pharmacist noticed that I had jaundice....and she told me to go to the er...I did and was in emergency surgery within a couple of hours...Praise God, cuz surgeon came and visited me and apologized for slicing me open from chest to gut, but said he was in a hurry to get me open cuz I wouldn't have made it through the anesthetic if he didn't hurry...
I was awestruck! If you are hurting, keep going back...
One thing I learned is that when people lose weight on a diet or whatever...there is a high incidence of gallbladder trouble.
Isn't that wierd? Ya try to do something good....LOL
Anyway, I hope you are not feeling too bad...Gall bladder pain "usually" will run from the stomach into the side and back...and just really hurts and can even nauseate.
I'm not an expert, but I have been through it.
Anyhow....Love ya...Darla:rose:

Ruth,

So sorry I haven't been here for while. Thanks though for stopping by my journal. It was really nice to see you there.

Ruth, have you check out the site about The Lord's Table? It is pretty interesting. Takes a look at dieting from a Biblical perspective. I just started it. It is a free 60-day program that they take you through. Daily studies.

This is the URL that will take you to the site. Check it out and see if you are interested.

Take care.

I pm'd this to you...but thought I'd post it...just in case...ya know? Hope this helps...same for juice days...Janey is doing this program for the teaching and stays with her Weight Watchers plan...so it's real flexible...You do NOT have to follow their eating suggestions...I do to a certain extent...Like I moved Normal days to the weekend...I don't want to have to watch what I eat when it's supposed to be the weekend...You know..If we go to the zoo and I decide I want a hotdog...I want to be able to do that...and I fast on Wednesdays...and Monday and Thursdays I do the half days and Tuesday and Friday the liquid days...but like to day was a liquid day and I ate a little caramel corn with the kids about 5:00...then had supper...I'm don't think God wants us to live by eating rules...You know...I think if you are hungry ....eat...if you are thirsty ...drink...on fast days now...I drink juices and diet soda...but see like I said, it is not about food...and they don't recommend you drink soda at all, but I really, honestly don't think that God has a problem with me drinking Diet RC...or a vanilla coke now and then...just nothing to excess...you know? I don't even drink water to excess....any how....Here is my suggestion (I posted this in my journal, too.)

Okay, about fasting...fasting isn't about food, it is about taking time to acknowledge God.
I told Minnie, I remember when I couldn't do a fast...and as it loomed I ducked...I have only been on The Lord's Table a short time but am coming to my second fast tomorrow...

Let me tell you a little about fasting...You need to do what you can do...but don't look at it as just not eating...a fast is meant to take something from your flesh to let God know that you are denying yourself something in order to honor Him or spend time with Him...
Fasting suggestions for beginners: And these are just my ideas you can do whatever you want....
You could fast snacks, or pop, or maybe one meal...or if you are not to that point yet, maybe you could fast watching tv, or doing a hobby you like, you can fast things besides just food...It's like this...say you have 3 kids and you say I'm going to have a special time with each of you...(I do this with my kids so I'm using it...Hey, whatever works...LOL)
So Little Jimmy gets from 3:00-3:30
Little Sue gets from 3:30-4:00
& Stuart gets from 4:30-5:00

Okay, so you are setting aside time for each child to do what they want to do. You turn off the cell phone, the computer and the tv and you hang out in your room with your child...Until the time is up...No distractions...so you see you are letting that child know that they are so special that you want to spend time with them and are willing to set a time to meet with just them...You are fasting...and spending time with your child...so see it is the same with God...Just a little time to let Him know you love Him...See it isn't about the food or the thing you are "giving up"...that is not the point...it's about you and God.
See? And God wants you to love Him and spend time with Him, and He is gentle and kind...if the tummy is rumbling and you want something to eat...eat, maybe fast seconds or dessert or "tea"...lol

P.S. i know you had trouble with some people in your church in the past and i agree that you go for God and no one else but since it causes such pain to you is it possible to join another church where your treated better? just a suggestion.

Ruthieb...I posted a reply in my journal to you....but I'll paste it here for you, too....I didn't know you were sick...Lord, I ask you in the Name of Jesus to take away the manifestation of sickness and feeling of tired and weery off of Ruthie's body and I thank You that By Jesus' Stripes she was and is healed, Jesus took this upon Himself so she would not have to suffer in her body, and I thank You for pouring Your healing through every part of her body right now by faith in Jesus' Name...Amen

Here is what I posted in my journal for you:

I'll be praying for you!

Ruthie, I will definitely be praying for you...I will continue to pray as long as the Lord leads me...I think that The Lord's Table is a wonderful tool that God has used to set me free...I have been giving so much credit to the program...but also want to remind that ONLY GOD GETS THE GLORY FOR THIS!
I love being there because the teaching is so good and it is long enough to really get some good habits formed...Remember...follow the Holy Spirit and then you won't fulfill the desires of the flesh...the Bible doesn't say "overcome the flesh so you can follow the Holy Spirit"...remember...God made everything for an example...our stomachs are an example of our spirit...God made us a spirit being as well as flesh...so he put this hole in us that can only be filled with Him....Salvation fills that to certain extent...first He saves you from hell, then He saves your mouth, and saves you from eating wrong....etc...
So anyway...Just as your stomach needs "food" about 2 or 3 times a day in order to satisfy your body...Your Spirit needs Spiritual Food and Living water which is the Word of God and the flesh of Jesus...And that "God sized hole" is filled...You see? Food is not the problem...Any addiction is You trying to fill God's hole with something else...and God won't allow anything to fill it but Him...God goes there, not food.
Easy...see why I say food is not the problem...and diets are not the answer...God is...Feed on Jesus and you will be surprised at how little food your body really needs and this will satisfy anything...like cigarettes...or drugs...You see...we try to numb the sadness...but you can be happy if you fill yourself up with the Lord...you'll be amazed.
God doesn't expect you to be perfect...there is a 100% chance that you will sin today. Thank God you can repent and go on and be happy. If you feel yourself backsliding...just get on your face before God and say "I can feel myself wanting to go back into slavery of food and I ask you to help me and to satisfy me...Help me to not sin and use food in your place...You belong there and help me to not sin in this area..."
Pray in Jesus' Name cuz He has already done it...2000 years ago,,,, Thank God it is already done and say with your mouth "I'm thin and fit and healthy, I eat right, I look right and I feel right, I eat good, I look good and I feel good. My metabolism is stable for me and I weigh ______lbs. Every part of my body works as it should and I am happy and full of God. I love myself, I like myself and I enjoy myself...Jesus came so I could have and enjoy life and I do!!!!!!
Remember this 1) BELIEVE
2) RECIEVE
3) BE RELIEVED!!!!
FRUSTRATION = WORKS OF THE FLESH....STOP IT...AND START BELIEVING, RECIEVING AND BEING RELIEVED!

Satan tries to steal your joy because the JOY OF THE LORD IS YOUR STRENGTH.... Wanna make the devil mad? Laugh and enjoy your life..."Jesus came so you could have and enjoy life!"
Amen and Amen...Wow! I pray in Jesus' Name that you will have and use wisdom in this situation with your Church...I pray for your pastor...I believe that He has the mind of Christ and I come against demonic activity in his mind and on the Church and the congregation...Lord, You have this in Your hands and I ask you to take care of the situation, and Lord, Bless the people of this congregation and give them wisdom and guide them as to whether they should stay or leave while you are changing the situation in Jesus' Name I pray...Amen...

Ruth,

Sorry to hear you are struggling so much. I just hate that, it throws off everything else you do or want to do.

Just work at taking care of yourself right now, don't worry about the exercise and stuff if you only have energy to get through the day.

Sept. 8th is almost here, hope there are some workable answers for you.

ps, thanks for the pm, I have deleted my journal because I am going to start a new one soon. Maybe not today as we are gone for a good part of it, unless I get inspired about what to do with it while we are driving around.

Well take care Ruth,

Just an idea, but maybe there would be a good ladies Bible study you could do while desciding on a church. They you could have a good prayer base too while you are not feeling well.

Hi,

It has been such a very long time since I have heard from you ... but this morning I was scanning the individuals online and I noticed that it was your BIRTHDAY TODAY.

So I wanted to wish you a :bd and I hope you celebrate :balloons: THIS YOUR OWN SPECIAL DAY.

I generally don't read what others post in Journals ... seems like an intrusion .... but I couldn't help but read that you haven't been well and I am truly sorry that you are not feeling well ..... and also that you aren't happy (or just haven't found) with the fellowship of your church .....

May I offer a suggestion ... first and foremost GET YOURSELF ON THE ROAD TO RECOVERY; when I am not feeling well it overshadows everything .... after you have recovered .... start planning your next priority ... to try to do everything at one time only creates frustration .....

I will keep you in my prayers .... again A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY As always, Monica
