LuckyLoser 02-19-04, 02:30 PM Hello everyone!
I am new to DT and have been reading the forums to get used to posting, etc. I like the idea of an online journal.
My goals are to keep calories below 1300/day M-F and under 1700 on the weekends. Because I have a job that keeps me sitting for most of the day(6:15am-5:15pm) I lower my calories during the weekdays. The weekends I am very active with kids, housework, fun and projects so I allow more calories.
I am losing 1-2 lbs/week this way so it's working nicely.
For excersise, I walk on a treadmil during the winter for 30-35mins/day 3 days a week and 2 days a week I snowmobile 1-2 hrs, until the snow is gone.
I walk 5-6 days/week when the snow is gone.
I am diabetic so my carbs are limited to specific amounts throughout the day, which I find hard because I cannot 'save' all my calories for special occations like going out to dinner, which I love to do.
I will walk when I get home from work today, and I am doing well today with limiting my calories.
All your tips and encoragement I have been reading is wonderful and I know I will make my goals.

Hi Lucky! Welcome to DT

Ah, the pressures of the weekly Friday office eatout. I did well today, as most of us in the office order food delivered from the local pizza place. One of my favorite foods is pizza, but I have been getting a vegitarian wrap(spinach) with hot peppers. No oil or mayo because the tomato, pickles and hot pepers add just enough moisture along with the other veggies. It actually tastes great so I don't feel deprived. 8-}
I did great yesterday, keeping my calories below 1300, and going along great today so far. The weekends are the challange for me when my wonderful :super: husband :x either buys pizza or takes the family out to dinner. We like Friendlys or Bickford's(like Friendlys)
:lift: I work harder on the weekends anyway.

LuckyLoser 02-21-04, 04:30 PM Great Morning today! I weighed in with a 2 lb loss! another successful week.
I am hoping not to hit a plateau until after my doctor's appointment in April. I want to get off some of my darn meds. My sugar levels have been super since the last 5 lbs have come off, a BIG difference in my usual morning FBL. My goal is to be under 185 lbs by my Doc's appt on April 9th. So far my progress is going along great.
:ex: The consistant excersise is helping even though I only walk 30 mins 5-6 days/week.
Speaking of walking, I hear my treadmill calling me......
Time to go!
Oh, spring time come soon! :flower:

bird songs 02-22-04, 08:49 AM Hi Lucky, welcome to DT..
There are alot of people here with diabetes.. Monica is one that has truly been a role model for us all here.. She puts the word faith into a live happening! She creates her own miracles!
If you ever need help with recipes or anything call on her, she is so darn helpful!
And, her journal is like reading an awesome novel.. lol

LuckyLoser 02-27-04, 10:32 PM Thank you Mary. I am crossing my fingers also for a loss this week. Some weeks can be so frustrating when you keep calories down and excersise faithfully, but don't lose any weight. My weigh-in day is Saturday morning.
I need to amend yesterday's food. I had forgot to include 10 baby carrots I ate on my way home and didn't have the yogurt as a snack. I got side-tracked on my way to the fridge and forgot all about it! LOL Like that happens every day! I WISH! Ha Ha Ha

LuckyLoser 03-01-04, 09:31 AM Super beautiful weekend, over 50 degrees this weekend with endless sunshine in NH.
I didn't loose any lbs last week, but I suspected a plateau comming. Oh well, I will just continue to plug along and wait for the next losses to come.
My goal this week is to bring my walks up to 45 mins every day. Saturday calories was 1563 and Sunday was almost 1600, most excellent since the girl scout cookies that my husband ordered came in. He was kind enough to keep them in the garage with him. What an angel! :not:
I will post more tonight.
Lucky :rose:
JoThrive 03-01-04, 11:17 AM It is so difficult to do everything you are supposed to do and then have it result in no weight loss. Life just doesn't seem fair at times. But remember that your body is responding to the good food you are eating and the exercising you are doing by becoming healthier and stronger - even if this doesn't show up on the scale.
So just keep doing what you are doing and the scale will respond eventually.
LuckyLoser 03-02-04, 02:43 PM I didn't get a chance to add Monday's info.

maximum 03-02-04, 04:49 PM Gosh Lucky you are doing so well. And your walking is awesome.. Your sure to drop again soon.....!
LuckyLoser 03-03-04, 09:11 AM Thank you Maximum. I like your new way of thinking, where your target is to focus on losing 10 lbs instead of the whole amount. I am thinking of doing the same. It can be less stressful to think, okay, I only need to lose 10 lbs to make my goal.
Overall a good day Tuesday, Calories were a little over what I wanted due to extra pasta at dinner and dessert, but well within range. 1522 total for the day. I didn't get a workout in because I went with hubby to drop the kids at karate, but we did walk around Kmart for 45 mins so that was something. Not my normal intense uphill fast walking on my treadmill but at least I was on my feet moving. Hubby bought 3 Musketeer 'popables' and I couldn't resest. Chocolate is my weakness right before TOM. But I contained myself and only had 1 serving, which was 15 popables(180 calories and 6g fat) not too bad.
Friday is my son's birthday and for a special treat he asked to go out to chinese dinner(ughh). That is my weakness also and I haven't had any since January since I started loosing weight and getting strict with my eating. I found a website that gave some idea of the number of calories/fat in chinese food and that surprised me so much that I found it easy to give up my monthly visits. I will stick to veggies, soup and stay away from the fried rice & fried food on the buffet. :c(
Lucky
maximum 03-03-04, 11:43 AM Maybe you could eat some fruit before you go. Like a Orange and a glass of water. That will fill you for a bit... To Help maybe....
Sometimes I wish I could bring my scale and measuring cups to restraunts. lol... Shrimp is low in cal. and maybe you can try and eyeball a cup of rice, or half cup then put lots of veggies on top.
Good luck.
And good Job  on the watching your serving amount on the chocolate. The point is that you were aware.... right?
ivoryrose 03-03-04, 12:49 PM Hi Lucky! Wow, your journal is growing by leaps and bounds! Sounds like you are doing a great job. Will go back and read your previous posts in a bit, but wanted to stop by and say hi. Thanks so much for dropping by my journal!!!! As for chocolate, it's the devil incarnate...there to tempt you at every turn. Can you tell I'm a choco-haulic? ha ha ha
:rose:
LuckyLoser 03-03-04, 01:39 PM Thank you guys! I appreciate the advice. Yeah, Maximum I also wish I could bring my scale/MCups out to eat. If I want to be REALLY good, the chinese food place has fruits and salads. :-) So if I'm still hungry after my 'allowance' of the fatty stuff, i can get some. Yeah right, I will be avoiding that section. LOL
I am going to treat myself for being so good, but not go overboard. The hot & sour soup they have will help fill me up along with a tall glass of water and the veggies. YUM!
:rose: Lucky
monicapink 03-03-04, 08:16 PM Hi Lucky,
You were so gracious as to stop by and congratulate me ... made me decide to stop by and say hello to you .
You know you mentioned you love Chinese food .... as do I ... and I don't know if your Chinese Restaurant states the number of calories per dish (lol mine doesn't) but whenever I ate their I always had Chinese Vegetables .... and Chicken Chop Suey ..... I do know that of the chinese vegetables (water chestnuts .. are the most fattening .... but celery, bok choy, mushrooms, bean sprouts) are VERY LOW IN CALORIES .....
I stay away from the Sweet and Sour .... because I am a diabetic and not knowing how much sugar and/or salt is in the food prepared ....
You know to me if you're going to go out to eat ... it is an opportunity to ENJOY ...
Do you like to cook? ... I like to try cooking a variety of different foods .... if you like Chinese food .... I will be pleased to share some recipes with you ....
I personally love Mexican Food ..... and I try to keep an eye on the nutritional values (which in my particular case is very important).
You're doing terrific  I will be stopping by from time to time just to see how you are succeeding. Always, Monica
LuckyLoser 03-03-04, 08:51 PM Hi Monica, No, the place I go to doesn't have nutritional values for the menu unfortunately, but I did find a website that gave info on some of the most popular items, so I can go by that. I have recently(over the past year) become a fan of hot and sour soup. Weird, for a long time my sister would say try it and I would say gross. Finally I gave it a try and loved it. There isn't much I don't like. It's very healthy other than the cholesterol, so I found a recipe online and tried it. Yum! it's good and low in carbs. I substitute the egg with egg beaters to save on fat and cholesterol. I also tried a light tofu version to really cut down the fat. I think I did a search on about.com to get the recipe. They have a whole forum on chinese cooking/info.
Wow! I didn't know that water chestnuts were fattening, duhh, it has the word 'nuts' in it, ha ha I should have guessed!
I would love to swap recepies with you, thanks. I do love to cook, but only have time on the weekends. I am gone from home 11 hrs/day for work.
I like Mexican food also and make some low fat meals that my kids would even eat. LOL
Well thanks for stopping by my journal and the encouragement.
Talk to you soon!

Hi Lucky
I read back over your whole journal and you are doing just :super:
Beth :not:
LuckyLoser 03-10-04, 10:56 AM Thanks Beth, I feel I am doing good too, but I just get impatient during plateaus. No loss since Valentines day(or around that time). 4 weeks, uggh! I hope I see a loss soon.
Tuesday went well calorie wise. Didn't excersise
By the time I got home, made supper, I had to go back into town to vote, they were packed! Got home in time to do my nightly chores then bed. Uggh. At least total calories were 1220 so that is good.
monicapink 03-10-04, 11:15 AM Good Morning,
I thought I would offer a suggestion what might help you get off your plateau .... it was suggested to me a long time ago by a dietitian at the previous weight loss site where I first started my weight loss journey ....
It is called THE PLATE METHOD you use it for ONE WEEK AND ONLY AT DINNER TIME :
Take a large dinner plate,
FILL ONE HALF (1/2) OF THE PLATE WITH VEGETABLES (EXCLUDES PEAS AND CORN); and
FILL ONE QUARTER (1/4) OF THE PLATE WITH PROTEIN: CHICKEN, FISH OR TURKEY; and
FILL ONE QUARTER (1/4) OF THE PLATE WITH STARCH: BOILED OR BAKED POTATO; PASTA OR BROWN RICE.
If you are still hungry: Take another large dinner plate:
FILL IT WITH DARK GREEN LEAFY LETTUCE (I use Romaine .... and now I use Spinach Leaves), BROCCOLI, CAULIFLOWER, CARROTS, RADISHES and use either RICE VINEGAR OR BALSAMIC VINEGAR AS A SALAD DRESSING.
Whenever I would use it I would lose 3 to 4 pounds .... I know that it works because it has helped others too. Go back to your own weight loss plan after the week. Will be reading with interest if you decide to try it. As always, Monica
LuckyLoser 03-10-04, 11:40 AM Thanks Monica, I will try that. That is really similar to what I am eating except it's more veggies. I measure the meat I eat at supper to 3-4 oz (size of deck of cards or digital scale) measure 1/2c starch or 1c wholewheat pasta and 3 cups salad or 1/2 c cooked veggies. Does that sound right if I just increase the cooked veggies to 1c that would be what your talking about?
:rose: Lucky
monicapink 03-10-04, 11:57 AM Lucky,
The dietitian suggested that in my salads (because I am a diabetic) to add as much fiber as possible ..... suggesting raw broccoli, cauliflower and carrots as a good source ..
I discovered hearts of palm (canned) and jicama (Mexican Potato) to also be high in fiber ...
I keep discovering new things to increase my fiber content ... I don't know how much fiber you allow as part of your nutritional goals .. but the dietitian suggested that I never go below 25 grams and I could go as high as 40 grams (many times I have exceeded that amount).
Our weight loss journey is a learning experience ... lol one I hope I never quit ... Make it a great day. As always, Monica
LuckyLoser 03-10-04, 12:24 PM Monica, On avg I have 25-29g fiber/day. Hmmm, Mexican Potato sounds good. I have a hard time finding special foods at the grocery store, but will look.
You are doing soooo great on your loss. Congradulations on the 2 1/2 lb loss!!! I am hoping that your suggestion works. I will let you know.
Thanks for all your help and support.
:D Lucky
monicapink 03-10-04, 01:08 PM You will find the jicama where the fresh vegetables are sold ....
it has a light brown dirty looking peel ... it is usually oval shaped ... you have to peel the skin with a sharp paring knife ...
its white on the inside ... and sweet and crunchy ... low in calories HIGH IN FIBER ... also check out the hearts of palm (but check the sodium content .... see if it figures in with your nutritional intake of sodium) ... I usually use one piece and cut it up ....
Thanks it's been a long (and sometimes frustrating) journey but so well worth the time ... As always, Monica
maximum 03-10-04, 03:12 PM  Your still doing so well LUCKY.... It will happen it WILL!
I use to love Jicama as a child, My mom would just cut it up and hand me a piece. It does add lots of crunch to salads. Hmmm I'll need to pick one up now... lol.....
Keep on Keepin on,.....
LuckyLoser 03-10-04, 03:32 PM Thanks for the info. I hope I can find it.
Do you know of any recipe to use it in? Do you use it like regular potato?
Lucky
JoThrive 03-10-04, 06:17 PM I use jicama as a raw veggie on a relish tray or in a salad. There is a faint sweetness to it that I enjoy.
I'm sure you will like jicama. It is just one more veggie in our list of things that are good to eat.
monicapink 03-10-04, 07:00 PM Lucky,
Jicama is eaten raw ... to my knowledge you can't cook it ...
I have always used it in salads ..... As always, Monica
LuckyLoser 03-11-04, 09:45 AM Thanks Monica & Jo, It's a good thing I didn't cook them :o, you saved me!
Well I just typed out everything I ate Weds and clicked submit and a message said I had too many icons or something
and to go back and make adjustments. UGGGH! everything I typed was gone.
So I'm just going to enter my calories: 1260 and excercise was just a walk to the end of my driveway and back. 20 mins. At least I got to walk with hubby and that was nice. :x
I will definetly walk for 1 hr tonight (Thurs)!
That's all for today, going to read other posts/journals for inspiration.
Lucky
monicapink 03-11-04, 12:45 PM Lucky, they tell me (lol ) that I am the constant positive .. but I think the fact that you enjoyed your walk is just as important as the length of time you spent walking ...
I am now house bound and although I am looking forward to going back to Curves ... MY ATTITUDE IS SUCH WHATEVER I DO AROUND THE HOUSE .. by exaggerating my movements IS A FORM OF :ex: .... every aspect imho OF OUR WEIGHT LOSS PLAN IS IMPORTANT .... you're doing :super: .... imo if you CONTINUE TO TAKE IT ONE DAY AT A TIME YOU WILL SUCCEED IN ACHIEVING YOUR GOALS ... Make it a great day. As always, Monica
LuckyLoser 03-11-04, 01:04 PM Thanks Monica, I did enjoy the walk. It was starting to get dark and we could hear the coy-dogs(like coyotes)howling in the distance. I would have been scared stiff if I was alone. :caf:
Sorry to hear you are house-bound. I hope you are okay.
I agree with any movement being a form of excercise, I easily maintained 155-160 when I was home with my kids. It was when I started working full-time 5 1/2 yrs ago at a sit-down job that my weight crept up on me and before I realized it, wow!
So the last 2 yrs have been learning that I can't eat the way I used to.
Thanks again for your support, you also are doing :super:

CONGRATULATIONS ON HAVING LOST TWO WONDERFUL POUNDS OF BLUBBER :cheer: :cheer: .... I am thrilled for your success.
Question: how much sodium are you allowing yourself daily? The reason I ask is my first endocrinologist said that for a normal (lol ) person 3,200 milligrams of sodium daily is sufficient .... but for those of us who are diabetics to have between 500 (which is for me totally impossible and very improbable) and 2,400 milligrams daily.
Congratulations ... you are doing :super: Make it a great day and have and make it a fantastic weekend. As always, Monica
LuckyLoser 03-15-04, 10:13 AM Thank you Monica. I try to stick below 2,400 mg sodium. I can't imagine going any lower than 1500mg! let alone 500.

LuckyLoser 03-15-04, 10:21 AM Not much intense excercise Sunday. Walked around Walmart about 20 mins in the morning. Went home to do housework then painted the bathroom trim all day. Lots of stretching and stooping so at least I wasn't just sitting all day.
I haven't totaled my calories for Sunday yet because we went to Applebees and I emailed them from their website asking for nutritional info. If I don't hear from them, I will just improvise. I like when resturants post nutritional info on their website or have it available to look at somewhere.
I'm sure I'm high on Fat, but less than 1700 for calories which is okay.
Gotta get back to work....

ivoryrose 03-15-04, 04:47 PM Lucky,

LuckyLoser 03-16-04, 09:12 AM Great eating yesterday(Monday) although a little on the low side(under 1100 calories), but I ate alot Sunday(Applebees). I will up my calories today to 1200-1300 calories. I want to work on lowering my sodium under 2000mg/day this week. to make up for the W/E.
Excercised 30 mins on treadmill 4.5% incline 200 calories burned.

LuckyLoser 03-17-04, 09:32 AM Good day eating-wise Tuesday, but very stressfull. Treacherous driving home from work due to a snow storm. My normal 1hr 20 min drive was 1 1/2 hrs, only 10 mins longer, not bad. But the stress was very bad. At least I was trapped in my car with no donuts/goodies in site! :D
Hrmmm... 1250 calories, very good. Excercise 30 mins 4.5% incline on treadmill, not as long as I wanted. My son was also stressed from bullies on the bus ride. So I wanted to be with him to help him calm down.
I'm so proud of him. He was stressed more by the fact that he has the power to kick their butts, but knew it was wrong to do that. X-(
He is such a great kid. He says when I get to 8th grade(highest grade in their school, k-8th) I won't bully kids in the lower grades like the 8th grade does now. OMG! that class is full of trouble makers! I swear half will end up in jail.(some already have run-ins with the law)
Bad driving to work this AM as well. 8-}
Whew! I just had to vent that out.

Hi Lucky - Thanks for visiting my journal! I work in a middle school and I spend SO much of my time dealing with the bully situation. They can sure make life miserable and isn't the bus one terrible way to start and end a day! Different approaches work for different kids and if he can do it, humor/sarcasm often works to deflect the bully's words and intentions: "Make room everybody so I can bow to El Presidente of the School Bus" or "Why not sit over there where there's room for you AND your ego!" or something silly like that. Just a suggestion..... I could go on and on about this subject!!!
You're doing great and setting such a good example for a newbie!
D:)
LuckyLoser 03-17-04, 09:34 PM Hi Delph, Welcome and thanks for your advice. Those are good come-backs! I was very quick whitted in HS(too long ago) and could really fumble them bullies with something like that.

LuckyLoser 03-19-04, 09:31 AM Very busy day Thursday. After work went home to make supper, then back out to open house for my Nephew (he lives with me) who is deciding which high school to go to in the fall(4 to pick from). So... after driving home from work(1hr 20mins) then go back out and drive another 45mins to the school. Needles to say I spent A LOT of time on my BEEEEHIND yesterday! The only walking I did was the tour of the school for about 20 mins, and that was stop-go, stop-go. But it was a good investment of time. My Nephew was SO excited to go to this new school, a big plus. :rose:

LuckyLoser 03-24-04, 10:36 AM Wow, this month is flying by! Getting closer to :spring:
Very good weekend, didn't excercise Sun & Mon, but Sun did lots of busy houswork all day. Monday, my son was sick and needed mommy(nice feeling since he just turned 13). LOL
Calories good over the weekend, but a little higher then I wanted on Mon & Tues. Avg still below 1400/day though.
Great workout Tues, 50 min on treadmill 4.5% incline+ stretching.
burned 350 cal.
Weird, I ate alot yesterday but my sugar was low 2hrs after eating my snacks(peach yougurt-1carb + 1apple-1carb). So I ate soup for supper-3 1/2carbs then walked, and still low after walking. Hrmmm, I think the weight loss is making my metabolism work better. I will keep track and let my doc know, maybe reduce meds?:cheer:
Hubby was installing new hardwood(laminate) floor last night, I took before pictures, and will take after pictures.
Well gotta go read other posts, will post today's stats later.

LuckyLoser 03-24-04, 04:03 PM Maxi- hey yeah, I didn't notice, we are running close in weight. Uggh, I can't wait to get to 180! That will seem like such a break-through for me. Just in time for the warm weather comming too.
Mary- I will post the pictures of my new floor later this week or on the weekend(more time)
DH is only doing the hallway for now, then into the dining/living room later. Hopefully he will get on a roll and just say 'the heck with it' and do it all. :D
Lucky %%-
LuckyLoser 03-25-04, 10:27 AM Ugghhhh! what a stressful time last night/this morning. I had to confront my boss because he told me yesterday that he had to reduce staff and didn't know who to pick. So I'm thinking he would choose the dead-beat who comes in late and forgets to complete half his jobs. Sooo, I casualy mention to DH what was said and he starts getting all worried that it will be me because if my boss chose the db, he would have to cover the evening shift.
I was like, no they wouldn't let me go. Well after that I started to re-think what was said that day and started to worry my-self sick last night and this morning! :c( Then on top of all that, my boss was in BEFORE me, like 1 hr before he normally comes strolling in. So I was shocked thinking, oh great, here it comes. He got in early to tell me the bad news.... :O
Well it turns out my job is safe, I asked my boss outright if he was considering me to go. To my relief, he said "OMG! NO WAY, I might as well cut off my right arm, if I got rid of you!" He was just under stress yesterday and was venting.
Wheww! I was relieved!
Well needless to say eating was terrible last night. I only got in 1077 calories and my morning sugar was higher than normal, even though I forced an apple down around 8pm because my calories was so low. At least it's only one day. Today will be better.
At least I made myself walk on the treadmill.
45 mins 4.5% incline plus stretching.
This is getting long so I will post my eating later.

LuckyLoser 03-26-04, 09:21 AM Hi Mary, Yes, I was relieved!LOL and I do feel lucky most of the time. I always try to look at what I have in my life that's good when I start to crab about something, or think negative thoughts. Then it makes me feel better to remember my life (or what crisis is happening at the time) isn't so bad. :rose:

monicapink 03-28-04, 01:27 PM Lucky,
My attitude has always been A MAINTAIN IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN A GAIN ... you need to recognize that your efforts are just not to lose your weight but to learn and create and healthier lifestyle. IMO YOU HAVE DONE JUST THAT your changes have been :super: .... Make it a great day and have and make it a fantastic weekend. As always, Monica
LuckyLoser 03-29-04, 09:23 AM Thanks Monica. Your right, maintaining is better than gaining. I just need to be patient. I got some kind of stomach bug that my son had earlier in the week(nice of him sharing), and I was just feeling yucky. Much better now.
Very nice weather Sunday, got some outside work done. Moved the snowmobiles from the backyard into the field for the summer. Boy wet wooden pallets are heavy!
Lucky %%-
LuckyLoser 03-31-04, 09:23 AM This week is going by fast!
Good eating Tuesday, 1231 calories, 30 mins walk outside. I'm so glad it is light out after work now so I can walk outside.
My calories were high over the weekend and Monday(1700+/- range), so I will get back on track the rest of the week. I'm so close to my first goal, I really want to make it.
After I make my goal for April 10th, I will start adding strength training to my walking. 15 mins to start, and work up from there. Once summer comes I will be getting plenty of workouts mowing lawns after work. 3 days/week depending on the weather, plus the days I don't mow, I will walk 1 hr.

LuckyLoser 03-31-04, 02:06 PM Thanks Monica!

ivoryrose 03-31-04, 02:13 PM Hi Lucky,
Thought I would check in once to say Hi! Just 10 days to your first goal...how exciting! Good luck, you will feel GREAT when you make your goal!
I always weigh myself in the morning too...I tell myself that the a.m. "naked" weight it my TRUE weight...and the afternoon reading on the scale, well, that's just a skewed result. ha ha ha ha Also makes me feel better when I go to the doctor. "oh yeah, that's not my TRUE weight". ha ha ha The things we do....
LuckyLoser 04-01-04, 11:26 AM Ivoryrose, that's too funny, I think the same way. The doctor's scale is allways 5 lbs more then when I weigh my self(also naked). And the afternoon/evening weight is allways 2-3lbs more. LOL
Lucky %%-
LuckyLoser 04-01-04, 11:33 AM Great day today! I sneeked a peek at the scale today and am down to 187, Yeah! I normally wait until Sat am, but I felt lighter.
Eating good yesterday 1300 cal, walked 35 mins. I walked 15 mins this morning(walked kids to busstop in the rain). Normally I leave for work early so I walk after work, but I had a blood test at 8am today. It felt great to start my day with a good walk!

LuckyLoser 04-05-04, 09:34 PM Thanks Monica! I'm so glad to be getting down to my 1st goal. 5 more days! TOM is comming so I hope the scale doesn't go up too much. I am watching my sodium VERY carefully this week so it doesn't add water weight.
1200 calories today, 45 mins walking on treadmill 4.5% incline, 300 cals burned.
Gotta go, the guys are back! :x

LuckyLoser 04-08-04, 02:30 PM Hi Maxi, At least we know WHY the scales are going wacko! LOL
Lucky %%-
maritsant 04-08-04, 11:05 PM LOL I think this is an epidemic with us. Today was my first day of TOM also  but in the contrary at this time I always lose its the week before that I start to retain water and gain.
LuckyLoser 04-28-04, 11:44 AM Wow, I didn't realize it's been so long since I posted. I went on vacation and time went by so fast.
Hrmmmm, let's see I gained weight during vacation, but I think it is mostly water from excess sodium because I was VERY ACTIVE during my whole vacation. Swimming, hiking, walking, bike riding. At least 1hr/day of intense excersize and the rest of the day normal moving. At least I wasn't at my desk sitting for 11hrs a day like I normally do.
I am getting back down to my 1200 cal/day routine now so I'm not worried. I enjoyed my stress free vacation with my family.
I also got a new digital scale that measures 1/2 lbs. I thought it would be helpful on those weeks when I only loose 1/2 lb I will at least see a change. I was shocked when the new scale read 8 lbs higher then my old scale. Ugh, I don't want to change my stats, but will have to.
