Well im back and since the last time i've visited i have gained ooo about 10 lbs, i wish i could say its just "post holiday weight" but it's not, i've gotten in a slump lately of just eating whatever i feel like.. I thought about making lofty goals for myself but usually I set them to high and give up with in a matter of time. So for now Im going to commit myself to journaling what i eat, we'll see how that goes.. In school im taking a nutrition class so I'm *hoping* this may give me some insight into my own body and its needs.. Ive been hearing about this low carb stuff and how good it is etc, and I'm sure if i could stick to it, it would probably work, but I'd really want to make *long term* changes so for now I think i'll try cutting back on my carbs, I think a good variety is essential for long term changes ..
Breakfast- 2 egg whites w/ 1 slice of wheat bread (butter and jam to add flavor)
Snack - 1/2 natures valley peanut butter bar and a hand full of wow dorritoes chips
Lunch - I went to boston market and got a "Southwest Chicken Salad" .. sounds good huh.. well i got online and pulled up the nutritional stats of my "salad" w/ dressing and all of the extras it came up as 980 calories and a whopping 60 grams of fat
.....thankfully i didn't eat *ALL* of the dressing.....BUT i thought to myself i could of had a cheesburger for less calories..
Dinner - being that i had such a big lunch i think i'll have something light.. grilled chicken breast and a salad maybe...

Im journaling my food in spread sheet right now, keeping track of my calories.. Im trying to stay between 1500 and 1700 cal's although i may lower them to 1350 if that seems to high.. Id like to loose about 2 lbs a week, when i first started loosing weight the pounds just melted away with little effort .... As a approached that 200lb mark it got harder and harder to loose.. Im not necessarily following any sort of plan just trying to select healthier foods and keep a good balance of healthy foods while staying with in my caloric intake range.. sounds sooo easy :laugh:
And for the rest of my foods today :
Snack : medium sized orange
Dinner: 1/4 cup macaroni salad and 2 slices of thinly sliced deli ham with a small salad and lite dressing
Ive also been drinking more water lately which was a big help when i had earlier success in loosing weight, I drink ALOT of diet coke.. I actually think i eat more when i drink caffeine *hmmmmm* I may start limiting myself to 3 diet cokes a day.. I know that probably sounds like ALOT to some of ya'll but i seriously think caffeine can be just as addicting as smoking or alcohol.

Hello Beth :) thank you for the fitday recommendation, i have actually used it in the past, but it took me forever to log everything i ate, and i didn't really stick to it.. it is a good idea i just didn't stick with it.

Lunch: chicken sandwich on whole wheat with mayo
a handful of carrots w/ lite ranch dressing
2 servings of baked lays
Snack: a cup of honeycombs cereal w/ milk
Dinner: Salad w/ lite ranch dressing
1/4 cup macaroni salad
2 thin slices of deli ham
SO last nite at about 1 am I decided i needed to do some sort of exercise, sooo i sprawled out on the floor turned the radio dial to the "easy listening" channel and proceded to do some yoga type stretches, I have exercise videos out the wazzzuuuu but i just don't use them. Anyhew i just basically stretched and did some pilates moves, Im sooo sore.. well it wasn't cardio but it was SOMETHING!! Its a start thats for sure. Im watching dateline right now they are talking about the atkins diet.... I can't even turn on the tv w/out being inundated with atkins commercials.. I think i will start monitoring the amount of carbs i eat.

Breakfast : eggbeaters with sauteed mushrooms and onions w/ ketchup
Lunch: We ate at the cotton patch
half a dinner roll w/ butter
10 fried mushrooms w/ranch dressing ( I picked off the outside crust off and just ate the actual mushroom)
chipoltae ranch chicken salad
Snack: a handful of trailmix w/ a cup of milk
low carb vanilla pecan ice cream bar
Dinner: 1 serving of baked lays
1/4 cup macaroni salad
Lettuce wrapped ham sandwich w/ tomatoes onion's and lite mayo
desert: small slice of cake
breakfast : none slept in
Lunch : 2 healthy choice hot dogs w/ onions and mustard
1 slice of provolone cheese
small salad w/ ranch dressing
Snack : 1 low carb vanilla pecan ice cream bar
serving of baked lays
Dinner : california cobb chicken salad from mc'donalds
slice of provolone cheese and a slice of ham
2 oz. of dark chocolate
I aslo had 80 or soooo ounces of water :)

Hi Jenni, good job on losing 52 lbs earlier .. I'm sure it wasn't easy! You're doing great on the eating part .. are you doing any exercises? It helps speed up the weight loss!
Hello chinadoll and ty ... Your right exercising certainly does help get the weight off faster, in the past i was doin it 3 to 4 times a week, lately ive gotten really bad about exercising though, right now im focusing on getting my eating back to what it was and im going to gradually phase in more exercise, i think i may try pilates, and then some type of cardio excercise, i have a exercise bike but rarely use it.. it just sets in the corner collecting dust.. <<<<*makes mental note* clean it and use it ;) lol
I weighed in this morning and lost 2lbs since last tuesday.. Pretty happy with that now if i could just continue the trend .. id be a happy camper :)
Breakfast : Low carb tortilla w/ 1 egg and a dollop of lite mayo
Lunch : I eat on campus sometimes and where I go there arent to many healthy selections of foods other than salad and that gets so old day after day.. sooo I ordered a bunless chicken sandwhich with all the good toppings lettuce tommatoes pickles onions... the lunch lady gave me an odd look but complied.. It was filling and surprisingly I really didnt miss the bun to much
