I'm Back!!!!!! Actually I should be hiding since I''m heavier now than before, BUT I missed the support here and needed to see my buds again.

My weight had hit an all time high of 250lbs - just after Christmas. I was very depressed and beginning to think the doctor who told me I was meant to be heavy was right. BUT, then I read Dr. Phil's new weight-loss book, and it made me face and deal with issues I was obviously hiding within me. I finished the book around the 2nd week of January. Since that time I have lost 18lbs. Not bad, Not bad - and it's not over! I'm down to 232 - Monday is another weight in and I can't wait!

That Dr. Phil sure tells it like it is, doesn't he? He makes us confront that within ourselves which is keeping us from doing something about our weight.

Well, you sure are off to a great start. Just keep at it, a day at a time.

Good luck to you on your weight loss journey.

HI Willow,

Its so good to have you back...youv'e been gone an awful long time. And can I just give you my congratulations. I know in california your weight is measured in just pounds but in Ireland we use stone and pounds.

There are 14 pounds in one stone. and if you loose a stone thats a huge amount of weight!!!!!!!! so youve done even better. Only ten more pounds and your down another stone. Im not familiar with Dr. Phil but sounds like he did you a lot of good,...so keep up the good work

laoise

you could try using stones as mini goals or even half stones...7 pounds......give you something to look forward to.

Anyway, you sound like your doing great....

:dn Down another 2 lbs. It's not a huge loss, but it is a loss.

Well after reading the Dr. Phil book, as previously mentioned, I have been toying with different weight-loss books. Of course, like most people, I could fill a library with the amount I have. :D I figured that some diets work well for some people as other diets don't, but, will work well for other people..... following me here. Any whoooo, this means our bodies are so different from each other, that we as individuals just need to find the diet that works for our body. I've started with the South Beach diet, and although I started off to a great start it seems to have ran it's course a bit.... so I'm going to try the GI diet next. It is very similar to the South Beach, which is why I picked it, but it incorporates more veggies and fruit.

Any way, thanks to everyone who dropped by. Thanks for the welcomes back.

JoJo - Dr. Phil is the greatest. Every other time I was on a diet and hit a plateau I would just give up. It's because of certain things he forces you to face, that I'm not giving up this time.

Monica - It feels great to be back!

Maxi - Hello old friend. It's a long story about where I've been but here's the low down.... I'm still renovating my house, just different rooms from the last time. I went back to school, have a new job and am happy the frickin snow is finally gone! My absence in a nut shell.

Laoise - Hello my Ireland pal! I haven't spoken with you since you left on your trip last August or September. I hope it went well. I'm not quite sure about this stone thing you're talking about, but let me know when I drop another one, ok.

It's great to see you all again. Take care!

I remember hearing about that doctor who told you you were 'meant' to be heavy - excuse me for saying so, but what an IMBICILE! You know in your heart that you can exercise and eat a healthy diet and change your body - one step at a time. I'd love to be there when you walk back in that doctor's office several sizes less than you are now and let him take in the visual of what can be done through smart, longterm choice.

You go Willow, go!!!
