kmsmit3 04-24-04, 01:28 AM on july 10th, i stand up to my cousins wedding. I have this beautiful dress i just recieved and it's a little snug. not by one size but just a little itty bit. i can get it on and everything. so my plan is to lose at the very least 10 pounds by july 1st. at 2lbs per week. that should take me 5 weeks, that puts me to about the second week of june. I say that because i'm in school for 2 more weeks. and i have finals coming up. there is no way i will get anything done during the most hectic part of any college students semester. I also want to start weight watchers, and I want to wait until im home again with a steady income or atleast where my mom can help until the steady income starts. Not only am i going to start weight watchers but i'll be able to start going to the gym again which will be great because i really do love exercising and i wish i had more time at school. I really hope this works. Maybe if i can keep going i'll lose 15 lbs. that'll be nice. i've never been able to lose more than 3 or 4 lbs before. Now don't get me wrong i'm not doing this for the vane reason of the wedding I am starting to get worried about my health. in my hello/introduction thread i mentioned that my mom just had gastric bypass surger to lose weight and it makes me nervous because i never want to go through what she is going through right now. So hopefully i'll be able to keep this up this time.
i'm keeping my fingers crossed and saying a few prayers.

kmsmit3 04-24-04, 01:32 AM i was reading spunsideways journal and it gave me a good idea. the daily goals thing. only i'm going to try and set mine for the next day the night before.
goal for tomorrow 4/25
1)Do not over eat at communion party
2)do some kind of exercise even if it means crunches before bed. JUST MOVE!!
3)drink 4 bottles of water. (i'll probably surpass this, water is pretty much all i drink)

Guess what? This time last year may daughter had the same problem. She was standing for her friend at the end of August. So she joined WW & the gym in the spring. By the time summer came she had lost 30 pounds and looked incredible at the wedding. She kept it off & is standing for another friend in June. This time they went out and got a great dress right of the rack and she doesn't have to worry about alterations or if it will fit well at the wedding. So you have time to get it all under control.
I hope that your mother is doing well. Keep us updated on how you are both doing.

kmsmit3 04-24-04, 01:47 AM Thanks patricia. actually my mom is doing wonderful. it's been one week exactly and she has already lost 17lbs. how much of that is water weight i'm not sure. i see a difference in her feet. isn't that funny? i was helping her get her slippers on (she's still recovering from the operation) and i was suprised because i saw ankles! and we laughed for a while. i took her for a manicure and pedicure today and her friends came over and she walked a whole block!! I think the eating part is what is really getting her. i mean a half cup of cottage cheese for lunch (yuk!) and one poached egg for dinner?!?!?! she says she's full and i believe her. Her doctors think that by the second week of may she'll be down 40 lbs already. I think thats amazing. my mother and i both have rather small frames, coming in at just about 5 feet even. so 40lbs on us is like 100 on someone of an average or above average height.
kmsmit3 04-24-04, 11:02 AM ok so far this morning has been good minus the sneeze attack i just had. literally i just sneezed about 7 times and i think i feel more coming. weird. anyways my mom woke me up at 830 to help her with some stuff. What did i come home for, to help my mom so normally i would complain that on my time off she woke me up so early. but today i was ok with it. It also gave me time to eat a good breakfast rather than a bowl of corn pops. although i did wake up wanting something sweet so i had a handful of cornpops it was probably less than 10 pops. THen i decided to make breakfast. 2
(2 eggs)scrambled eggs
1 piece white toast
4 strawberries
ok normally i always eat 1 whole egg and and 1 egg white scrambled but today the egg broke and i was forced to use the whole thing. oh well. so breakfast so far felt good. Lets just still hope the communion party goes well. i hope they have something i like so i don't fill up on chips and cheese and crackers.

kmsmit3 04-24-04, 11:17 AM So i just went to fitday.com. I haven't used that place in FOREVER. i plugged in what i ate and it said about 265 cals. some of my measurements may have been off, but i think for the most part it was right. i wanna try for no more than 1500 cals. today. also i realized that I can get a jump start on weight watchers. I still have all the books. i'll just do it on my own until i start going back then i'll be down a couple pounds already (hopefully) and my start weight will be lower. That'll be exciting. It's just the exercise that is gonna get me. But thats ok for now.

I know what you mean about things getting crazy around this time of year. I am also in college, getting ready for exams in another week. Mine won't be stressful, as I only have one exam! I got lucky this semester!
Good to hear that your mom is doing well. It sucks that she has to endure this, but it seems to be putting things into perspective for you! Hope to see you around here again!

kmsmit3 04-25-04, 02:14 PM ok so the communion party went sort of ok. i didn't overeat, but i ate mcdonalds. heres the story my mom and i got there while my aunt and uncle were at church. i saw what they were havig and they were all kinds of sandwiches smothered with mayo or mustard and i honestly don't like sandwiches. so instead of eating chips and desserts to fill me up i opted to go to mcdonalds so i wouldn't pick on junk the whole time. so i ate my mickydee's. and i felt bad. but hey i dont' eat it often and it was one junk food or another. so at the party i had very few chips like 3 fritos, honestly. then dinner timecame around and i just had a very small portion of mostacciolli that i didn'tl ike and barely touched and some fruit salad. dessert came out i passed on cake. had one chocolate chip cookie. my dad made them they are the best. and 2 chocolate covered strawberries. hey i made them and they looked delish...and it's fruit. when i got to my boyfriends, i had jell-o pudding pop. and although he really wanted to go out for ice cream i kept saying no. he ordered a pizza and i was like yeah i'll have one the last time i ate was 1ish. but when it got there i couldn't do it. i couldn't even drink the coca-cola. so i was kind of proud of myself but i couldn't tell if i just wasn't feeling good or having good will power. oh well today is a new day. and so far for breakfast i had...
2 eggs and 1 egg white scrambled
1 piece of toast with i can't believe it's not butter
2 small slices of bacon.
mmm...hmmm.
i also had a few nuts when deciding what to make for breakfast.

Do you workout at all? Because if your dress *almost* fits, dude.. working out will help! A GREAT system is the firm.. www.firmdirect.com if you don't like going to the gym.. I'm glad your mom is ok.. WLS always scares the heck out of me and makes me sad.

kmsmit3 04-25-04, 04:30 PM well i used to work out all the time. but heres the catch. i live in a dorm for 2 more weeks. they gym on campus is absolutely falling apart. and there is virtually no space to do any kind of exercise especially since my roommate and i are packing up stuff so we can go home. but i do have a gym membership that i will be using as soon as i get back home. the truth is i have more than 10 lbs to lose more like 35 if i want to be in the upper norm for my height. but 10 is my goal for the wedding. thanks for workout ideas!! i'll look into the firm.

MelsaEstel 04-25-04, 07:49 PM Hey Kelly. Why don't you just get outside and walk or jog? It's free, you don't have to deal with crap equipment, and you get some sun and fresh air. I was walking 45-60 minutes a day, and it really helped me lose the weight. I was losing about 2 every 5 days. Give it a shot until you get back to the gym:)
kmsmit3 04-25-04, 07:53 PM yeah i did that for awhile. but the only time i have available now...with 2 weeks left of school is at night. and i don't feel comfortable walking around my campus at night by myself. i know it sounds like i'm making up excuses, hahaha. i just have to consider my options. maybe these next couple weeks i'll try and get up 1.5 hours earlier to walk. i'll see if that works. my classes start relatively late actually.
kmsmit3 04-25-04, 11:59 PM ok so i'm officially back at school. That means that stress ensues during the next 12 days or so. i have 4 official days of class left plus 3 finals the following week. i have 5 projects due in the next 4ish days. UGH!! i have one 3/4 done and one 1/2 done. which leaves me with. 3.75 projects. I hope my math is right, it was never my strong point. I know i'm going to pulling some late nights trying to play catch up and finish up but i'm going to try and stay away from the coffees late at night and especially the sugary candies i usually turn to keep me up. instead i'll just drink a lot more water. I think tomorrow i might try and get up early (if i can get stuff done) and go for a quick walk around campus. but if i can't get the 2 things done that are due tomorrow i'm going to have to use that time i'd get up early to finish. But tomorrow is a pledge to eat healthier. i'm also going to see how the week goes with out drinking any soda. i usually don't drink much except for at lunch time but i'm going to skip that and drink water or juice if i'm itching for sweet stuff. i'm also goign to try and not have pizza this week and eat more salads. Oh the joys of campus dining centers. I just have to keep telling myself that only 2 more weeks of not being able to eat anything but burgers, chicken, pasta, and fries.

MelsaEstel 04-26-04, 12:27 AM I totally understand about dorm food. I lived in a dorm for 3 years, and lived off salad, chicken sandwiches, and the occasional decent meal provided. It's been great in an apartment, although I have to cook. I am going back to the dorms in the fall for my last semester. It's going to be tough losing weight with all that junk! Good luck, you can do it!
kmsmit3 04-26-04, 11:34 AM ok so today starts off like this. i woke up on my own at 815, and my alarm was set for 9. what?!?!?! but i was still too tired to wake up so i got myself up at 10 to 9 and went and got breakfast.
so my breakfast consisted of:
2 hardboiled eggs. 1 whole and 1 white
1/4 cup of hashbrowns (it was probably less than that)
1 containeer of dannon light n fit creamy yogurt
so that was my good breakfast mmmmm. but now i have really bad cramps. this is something i have not had in 3 or 4 months because i started taking the pill. so it's very weird for me. and they are very painful. well i have to go write 2 papers. see you all soon.
kmsmit3 04-26-04, 04:29 PM 2 papers down...3 to go. it's almost over! i officially have 3 more days of class before finals. So i just ate lunch it was only half healthy.
marinated chicken breast...half of it. no bread.
1/2 cup of mashed potatoes and gravy
couple of fries and cheese sauce about about 1/4 cup.
salad and fat free salad dressing. my calories so far today are at 804 according to fitday. i've drank a ton of water and i'm going to do my points for WW and figure out dinner. And then work on my other 3 papers!! woo hoo!!!

i just did the math and there are 70 days till the wedding! oh man. thats approximately 10 weeks. so if i do this right i can lose 20 lbs.

It is great that you are thinking about joining weight watchers. I have the diet and started out doing that. It is so easy to stick to it and the portion control is so important to lear for life. I also use fit day and it is a great program. I really have learned a lot on how to eat healthy. I'm going to send a link to one of my friends as she is looking into that surgery your mom had. I have so many people caring about my diet I just wish that I could stay focused. I want to do this for me but feel like I'm doing it for everyone else. My husband has been on me about excercising and I know I need to but when I'm tired it is so hard to get motivated but I'm going to get it done today. Good luck on your exams and keep in touch when you get back home so we can do this thing!

kmsmit3 04-26-04, 10:45 PM Kari- I wish my boyfriend would get on me about exercising. he's usually trying to get me to go out for ice cream. If your friend has any questions about WLS let me know and i'll try to get them answered for her from my mom. I also will definitely be keeping in touch when i get home, that's when i'll be able to start exercising more.
ok so today i devoured 1556 calories. tomorrow i'm gonna shoot for 1400. it's just so hard because it's like a smorgasbord of food and i never know what the dining center has. I am proud because i didn't have as many carbs as normal. Tomorrow i'm going to try for even less carbs. because that is where the bulk of my calories come from. Also i talked to my mom today and she went to the doc for a post op check up and in about 1 week she lost 16lbs. i find that crazy when i strive for 2lbs a week. it must be nice having a stomach the size of golf ball.
goals for tomorrow
1)Eat a big salad for lunch
2)NO FRENCH FRIES!!!
3)Study for one final. (this is important)
4)Eat all 3 meals and have 2 snacks!
5)stay in point range for WW.

MelsaEstel 04-27-04, 01:25 AM Those are good goals! I need to follow your goal #3. I only have one exam, but I haven't looked at the material in about a month. We have been doing our big projects, so no new material in a long time! I also need to write that paper. So, those are my goals for the next couple days. I also want to limit my carbs. I was for a long time, then I decided to count calories, and the carbs came back. I am eating more fruit now, which is sugar carbs, but not too many cals. Have a great week!

1 whole hard boiled egg
1 egg white hard boiled
3 slices of thin bacon
1/2 piece of white toast (low cal/carb reduced)
dannon light n fit smoothie

that breakfast really filled me up, i think i might have that more often. replace the normal cereal and yogurt i usually have. This is a week of change. Ok well i'm off to work on yet more papers.
kmsmit3 04-27-04, 05:24 PM ok so i just did my point totals for the day so far and i have 7 left. I REALLLY REALLY don't want to go over today. sometimes i feel like 22 points is not enough. I think i need to learn how to eat right. If anyone has any suggestions as far as my food goes please let me know. I think have a lot of calories left, but i may have just gone really low on my servings i'm not sure. Thats according to Fitday. I try to not focus on that as much as i do WW. I use it to see where my cals. are coming from. So this was my lunch.
hamburger patty - no bun - w/ ketchup
3 spears of broccoli cooked unsalted
mac n cheese ( i know but it was the homemade kind and it might be the last time i get it for a real long time) but i only had about 1/2 cup.
snack i had jell-o. ithink i'm going to stick with that. I'm going to the doctor in 30 minutes so maybe she'll tell me if i have lost any weight at all. But please let me know any suggestions as to my menu. SOON I CAN START EXERCISING and I can not WAIT.
kmsmit3 04-27-04, 06:43 PM Ok i just got home from the doctor. i was nervous about stepping on the scale and stuff, right? Well. when she weighed me i thought it said 162, and i was like yeah!! lost 3 lbs!!! but my math was off. I asked the doctor if she could tell me my present weight and the weight now. she said before in feb. i was 165.5 and now i'm 172. WHAT!!! 172!!! for as long as i can remember i've been 167!!! this just ruined my day. ALTHOUGH it is that time of the month. it's almost over though, i still shouldn't be 7lbs heavier than i was. Can i be? i'm not sure. Someone's having a salad for lunch. :c(
MelsaEstel 04-27-04, 10:42 PM The weight difference could be a number of things. It could be that you have gained some since you were there last, difference in clothes you were wearing, TOM definitly could have added. I wouldn't worry about it too much. You will lose it, I know you can do it! Once you start exercising again, it will drop pretty quick!

Maybe together we can make this day rock! I want to look good this summer not like a beached whale. Last summer was terrible this summer is the start of my self change. I'm going to believe in myself for the first time and beigin new. My kids are going to live a healthy life with their active mom involved and able to keep up! Kelly do not give up because of higher weight just try to focus on working harder and thinking of that gym when you get home! We are all pulling for you and wishing you the healthiest life possible!

ok so last night was bad bad bad. but today will be good good good. I got up went to chat, and then went to breakfast.

332 calories according to fit day and 7.5 points.
I'm a little too high on the points, so i'm going to make that a goal for tomorrow is to eater a fewer point breakfast to save them for dinner.
Everday i have remembered to take my vitamin even though the minute it goes in my mouth my whole mouth tastes like chalk, it's disgusting. On the school front I think i have one more paper to go!! and then one more paper revision and i'm done! yay for that! i can't wait. Hopefully I'll see my boyfriend on friday and go home saturday and then come back monday. I can't wait. Then one more week and i'm homefree for the summer. ok i'm going to try and plan the rest of my meals for the day. Lets see if i stick to it.
Snack- Jell-0 0 points

minute maid lite lemonade...i think its 2 points

I've also started keeping a handwritten notebook for points and food and stuff. it's easier than the little thing WW gives you. and then i keep track of what i learn here and in chats ands stuff.

kmsmit3 04-28-04, 04:44 PM oK i made it through my first half of the day. i've got good news and good news.
Before all that i had jell-o for a snack 0 pts.
First good news started as bad...i went to a reception to celebrate the achievments of the team i am on at school. We took 2nd at both national tournaments. ANYWAYS they had cake and cookies and stuff. Well i stayed away from the cake BUT I had a cookie. So i was like hmm..well i had 1.5 pts left so maybe i only went over by .5 of a point if i stick to my menu for the day.
So after that I went to get lunch. I got the Salad, lettuce, cauliflower, broccoli and black olives with fat free italian dressing about a tblsp. And they didn't have baked lays so i got WOW! which i've never had and was nervous and my minute maid light.
I got home and did the points. Salad and dressing...obviously zero. Chips were still 2. and the minute maid....drum roll please...actually 0 pts!! ZERO POINT LEMONADE!!!! :cheer: I'M SO EXCITED!!! I mean yeah it does have 5 cal. per serving and 13 calories in the whole dang bottle. so then those extra 2 pts goes towards the cookie and i still have 1.5 left if i eat dinner the way i want!!! GO ME!!!!
On top of that I looked good today for the reception. Through on my stillettos and pinstripe black pants.

Just wanted to stop in & say hi. Sounds like you're really doing well. I like your goals and setting them the night before. I'm not familiar w/ the WW points system but I know alot of people who've been very successful on it. Keep up the good work, you'll be at goal before you know it.

Anyways I met my goal for the day with eating my planned menu.

For dessert i had dannon light n fit creamy 2pts.
so technically i would have used .5 of my flex pts. but i didn't finish the yogurt so i think i came out even.
the choc. was 2pts total. and the smart pop at most will be 2pts. probably 1 cuz i'm sure i won't have all 7 cups in one sitting. so 3 flex pts. i'm fine with that!!! Tomorrow morning i think im going to plan my meals again, i liked that.

I'm getting used to getting up at 8 to work on papers and get breakfast..too bad tomorrow I am sleeping in. No if's ands or buts about. there is a 90% chance my boyfriend will come here tomorrow night, oh that will be excellent, i havan't spent a good amount of time with him in about a month, we need it. So, i had breafast...i haven't calculated it in fitday or ww yet but i'll write it down here as i do it.
TARGET = 22pts
2hard boiled egg whites - 0pts = 22 (33cals)
3 slices of bacon - 4pts = 18 (138cals)
1/2 dannon smootie - 1pts = 17 (40cals)
breakfast = 5pts total or 211 calories
So i have 17 points left and here is my menu for the rest of day.
Snack - Banana 1pt of jell-o 0pts
Lunch - (i'm having 2 choices in case tehy are out of the first by the time i get there)
1) chicken nuggets - 5pts
carrot sticks - 0pts
light lemonade - 0pts
bbq sauce - 0 pt
(this option leaves me with 11 points)
2) Salad - 0pts
fat free dressing - 0pts
wow or baked lays - 2pts
light lemonade - 0pts
(this option leaves me with 14 points)
Dinner - chicken w/ skin and bone - 5pts
mashed potatoes and gravy - 3 pts
veggie of some kind - 0pts
if lunch option 1 i'll have yogurt
if lunch option 2 i'll have another kind of sweet dessert. like vanilla ice cream in single serving cup.
ok this is all confusing it's just for me to have written down. it might change because of the lunch fiasco, who knows.

Kari - yes i am sleeping in tomorow and since the BF isn't coming in until 730 i'll have time to clean and hopefully the roommate will go home and i'll do some exercising or yoga. it's hard to do any of the few tapes i have when she's here because honestly one more person takes up sooo much room.
nancy- my day(s) have been hectic but i am officially done with classes i just have finals and none of them will be too hard. But I'll be studying a lot. I got the project(s) handed in. and got one back that i got a b on. I was satisified since it wasn't my best work.

ok the day is about to begin i slept till about 1015. thats not as late as i wanted. hahaha. but i passed out early...well 1215, compared to 1 or 2 and waking up at 8 which i have normally been doing.So yeah that's 10 hours of sleep. haha oh man. i shouldn't complain. Well i'm abouit to get get breakfast. I think i'm going for cheerios, yogurt, and fruit hopefully. Don't know the points I'll do it later.

Ah, a nice long sleep, you sure deserve that. And you still have lots of work and studying ahead of you but glad you are feeling fairly confident in it all. That is great.

kmsmit3 05-03-04, 02:13 AM ok we aren't counting today either. man oh man. when i officially get home from school i'll have to retrain myself to eat. i can do it though. i bought a pedometer today! and new gym shoes. it was exciting. i walked 1.5 miles today according to the pedometer. I like that thing. it's fun to check it every once in a while to see whats going on and stuff. in 4 hours i walked over 3,000 steps and a good portion of that time was spent tutoring my lil cousin. Well i'm off to bed. Finals start tomorrow and i have to drive back to school tomorrow morning. But before bed i'm gonna do a little late night studying to keep my mind off of food. mmm hmmm.

kari1992 05-03-04, 11:25 AM Kelly, remember you are doing this for yourself. No one else can control your diet or what you eat so try to keep your journal of the food you eat. You will feel bad to write down things that were not planned and eventually it keep you on track. Remember if you cheat you are only cheating yourself. Great job on the walking and pedometer! :) When you get home think of it as a challenge to retrain yourself how to eat but don't be too hard on yourself or you will get in a slump and feel like giving up and that is not an option!!

I also went for a walk. about 25 minutes 1.31 miles according to my pedometer. It felt good to actually walk for purpose not just rushing to and from class. My total walking for the day was 4.8 miles. that seems like sooo much.

kmsmit3 05-05-04, 12:22 AM Today was not as good as i wanted it to be. I planned out my meals but then disaster struck and i ate at BURGER KING!! I didn't even make good choices and got a damn whopper..i didn't know it was like 14pts!!!! it's only day 2 of the week and i have NOOOO flex points left. I wa ssupposed to have like 3 regular points left for the day. on top of that it rained most of the day so i was indoors and not working out and walking and it turn only walked about 2.45 miles and a little over 5,000 steps. thats half of what i did yesterday. THe funny thing is i didn't go over too much on calories. hahaaha. i'm at like 1300.
so as for my goals for today....did not meet either. I'm keeping the same goals for tomorrow.
1) eat less carbs
2) hit 5 miles
3) this isn't a goal but a must STAY IN POINTS!!!!
Oh geez..i don't want to crash this early in the game.

Last night my friend and I had a long talk abut our eating habits and we realized not only can we blame ourselves but out parents since they are the ones who taught us how to eat and they always have junk in the house. :) But anyways we decided in the summer we are going to try and get together and walk or something so we can stay in touch, he doesn't live far from me. My boyfriend and i also decided that any day we are just sitting around doing nothing we are going to go for a walk. depending on what time it is. he does live in downtown chicago. It will either be in the park behind his house or on the lake. unless of course there is something planned we are watching on tv. But we are still going to try. and i know he is trying to get in shape now too because instead of taking the bus home from the train he's going to walk. (it's only a mile or so why not) the last 2 days he's done it, a bus hasn't even driven by him so it's actually becoming a time saver in a sense. enough about him, more about me. (self centered a little am i?) anyways, like i said today is a new day. I'm going to try a few things in the next few weeks. They are some bad habits i'm going to try and break. 1) eat slower and about halfway through actually stop to see how hungry I am. I did it this morning at breakfast and probably only ate a little more than half of my food. 2) don't eat just food and then go on to next, eat bites of everything. I did that this morning too.
Today is a beautiful day out so I"m gong to reallly strive to go for a walk once i study for awhile. 2 tests tomorrow. But right now i'm going to shower i think. I have no motivation to do that though. hahaha. 8-|

It sounds like you have the plans in place now you just need to act on them. It is hard at first even to make small changes but once you do it will make all of the difference. One of my friends always leaves 3-4 bites of whatever she dishes up on her plate to throw away, this seems to work for her even if it is just a little of a cut it is good.
Just wanted to check and make sure you were surviving finals. Good luck to you and keep up the good work! :D

kmsmit3 05-10-04, 12:36 AM ok so this weekend was pretty good. i decided that i'm going to stop tracking points until i start ww again, but other than wendys for lunch, where i had chicken sandwich anyways i've done ok. tomorrow i have another job interview. i worked today at my old job where i sat around and read harry potter. then we received some absolutely beautiful thunderstorms! i was going to try and get up early and go to the gym before my interview but i don't want to push it. then i'm coming home and unpacking and cleaning my room it's going to take FOREVER! i didnt' realize i had so much stuff. so i think that will be my workout, but tuesday i'll try and get up early work out, go to WW and then go get my hair cut and probably clean some more. i'll keep you all updated.

kmsmit3 05-12-04, 03:31 PM So BF did take me out last night. we went to mongolian bbq. if you've never been there or heard of it hear it is. It's basically all you can eat stir fry. you go up to the bar get a bowl fill it with veggies, fill it with meat top it off w/ some seasonings. then get a little cup put your sauce in it. take it the usually attrative guy working the grill and cooks it fresh. go back to your table where rice and tortillas await you and eat. then do it again. It's amazing. and light. because they have light versions of most of ther sauces. except teriyaki my favorite, but i don't use too much. and they also have an all you can eat salad bar. so i had a plate and a half of stir fry and a strawberry daiquiri.
This morning my mom woke me up to tell me i'm going to houston in 2 weeks for my cousins bachelorette party. i have to fly there myself. sometimes i get really nervous flying alone. but i'll be fine. it's just the initial take off. and no one can be w/ me at the gate anymore. so my goal is lose 4 lbs by the time i leave. thats 2lbs a week.
today so far i had this:

kmsmit3 05-12-04, 10:23 PM so i just got back from grocery shopping. i got to go for family since my dad never buys the right stuff and my mom is still weak from surgery. it was fun because i was able to get stuff i like rather than what they like. so i got lots of veggies and fruit and pre cooked chicken. but i even let myself get fettucine alfredo and real macaroni and cheese to splurge on. i like mixing those w/ chicken and brocolli it makes a whole meal. I bought jello and then got home and realize we had like 800 boxes of jello in the house. but now atleast i know there will be stuff for me to eat.
35 min is a good cardio workout. Sounds like you'll be set as far as good food to eat, heck maybe the brothers will learn to prefer fruit to cereal :) Well, I haven't been here for alittle while but great job on the loss. Keep it up.

I was happy considering i ate things mac n cheese and lots of cookies the other. i was stress eating. thats over though. i've had a really tough a couple days emotionally my BF and i got into a huge fight i ended up driving 3 hours to see him in the middle of the night. got to his house at like 3 am. just to apologize we broke. got back together the other day. it's just been rough. Things are starting to look up. i'm making lunch right now. kmsmit3 05-20-04, 04:26 PM hi all. once again i've been super busy. anyways yesterday my eating was so-so. no breakfast. lunch was a hot dog and some fresh cut fries. and i made a cake and had a small piece. dinner was chicken noodle soup and some garlic bread. i just made my points went over by a little.

kmsmit3 05-28-04, 10:12 AM Last day at my aunts today! i get to leave whenver i want because i'm not picking up my cousin. I've been kind of half heartedly counting my points. LIke I know i'm not going over by much and i still have atleast 13 flex points left So i'm ok. I haven't got to work out though, which makes me sad so i will have to do it on saturday and sunday which i don't liek doing. but I have to do at least 5 days!! Hopefully i can get something in today. umm what else, i don't think anything. TOM has left so hopefully all my water weight is gone. I think i'm just updating for the sake of updating. hahha i'm bored, can you tell?

kmsmit3 05-31-04, 12:46 PM i'm still around just really busy. i'm thinking about skipping the WW meeting this week. i need to save the 10 bucks, and i really didn't do well this week, so i think that's what i'm going to do. i'll weigh myself at home just not there, i know its not the greatest choice but i don't have much more of one...especcilally when it comes to money.
i hate holidays, i mean i love them, they are fun, i just eat waaaay too much.

I know that my opinion wasn't asked for and I usually don't offer an opinion unless asked for ..... but your post about foregoing your WW meeting really bothered me; because if you are going to miss your WW meeting because you are afraid you will show a gain ..... what's going to happen if in the next week .... and the week after that IF SOMETHING HAPPENS .... almost every other month WE HAVE A HOLIDAY or there is one type of celebration or another ..... those holidays and celebrations ARE A PART OF OUR LIVES.
A gain is not the end of the world .... it doesn't make you less than what you are .... okay so you gained .... it's a stone in the path of your success .... YOU DON'T WANT TO MAKE IT A BOULDER ....
The ten dollars you spend on your meeting is FOR YOUR BENEFIT ... so just a suggestion GO TO THE MEETING .... maybe the leader will offer some suggestions to ENABLE YOUR SUCCESS IN THE COMING WEEKS ....

kmsmit3 05-31-04, 06:55 PM yeah monica i totally understand your point, believe. and the reason is more or less because of the money. i mean i live in chicago where gas is 2.25 a gallon, i work 30 minutes from home. my paychecks have been very small and i have a ton of bills due this week. the money is the huge issue here. i mean even if it wasn't i could go and use my no weigh - in pass and that would be fine. the decision is still up in there, i could end up going it was just a thought at the time.
Thank you for your concern though, it may not seem like it but i do appreciate it. because sometimes telling myself to go isn't enough. :o

I hear ya! Sometimes it is sooo much easier to give in than it is to fight it! I know when I used to feel as though I may end up feeling uncomfortable, embarassed, or even just bored in a situation, I subconciously found a way to get out of it. Now, I don't give it a second thought.
You see, it's the thinking that will kill ya. you are better off just doing it, and not thinking.
I think going to the meeting is an excellent idea. It will help you get over the fear of embarassment or dissapointment, and you wont have to feel like you failed by not going.
Get back on that horse chiquita! We are all there for ya!
kmsmit3 06-01-04, 11:27 AM ok believe ME i listened to both of you and strongly pondered the thought. So i broke down my budget for the week and i can't fit it in there and it'ss all because a friend of mine bought me a ticket to see Harry Potter already so I have to pay him back, i can't leave him with an unused ticket and tell him sorry, sell it to someone else. So thats the ww 10 dollars. I'm still going to weigh myself at home and read the support stuff on WW.com and see what they have to say and if i can get an extra 10 dollars in the next couple days (which is possible if I nanny) Then i'll go later in the week. I hate feeling like i'm making up excuses, but i'm not.
ok i have a fun little challenge for me for the month of june. I'm whole wheartedly addicted to nachos, chips and cheese are my favorite junk/snack food ever. but I eat it waaaaay too much so for the next month i'm going to not eat nachos unless i'm at the movie theatre. i'm planning on one movie this month so that means nachos once. I think i can do this i just have to stay away from it in the house.

i was going to start "a new plan" today. But i didn't wake up early enough so i think i will try this out when i'm getting up consistently early for work. I was going to get up and immediately get out there for a walk. EVen if it's only 10 minutes then eat breakfast. wait about an hour like usual and go to the gym. That 10 minutes extra i can add everday and if i never made it to the gym ATLEAST i did that. also my legs are usually stiff in the morning so it could really help. But i didn't get up until 9 and by then i'm starving and by the time i get done with that, breakfast, gym it's aroiund 1 already and then i'm starving for lunch and i don't like to eat as soon as i get done w/ working out.
So now i'm off to cleaning my car and then going to the gym. BYE for now.You all know i'll be back.

So i got them their greasy gross chips and i decided to heat up some veggies i had one chip just cause i wanted the salt but it didn't even taste good. and i cut the sandwich in half and ate all my banana and most of the veggies first so i wouldn't finish the grilled cheese!! woo hoo for me!!!

I've been keeping track of my points but i haven't been able to exercise. I keep planning on going after work and then i'm too exhausted. And i won't be able to go in the morning because it's too early. So after next week hopefully everything will be back to normal.....
I don't have much more to say. I saw harry potter the other night, it's excellent. I'll be around more now htough i promise.

kmsmit3 06-11-04, 01:30 PM I'M DONE WITH TRAINING!!! i'm so excited to be done. Next week everything starts to go back to normal. i can go to the gym in the morning, i can go to WW in the mornings. THe money will start to come in because i'm broke still. Everything will be fine. I don't have much to report since i haven't had time to write anything down and all that stuff, but i'll be back i'm sure of it.
30 days till the wedding, the countdown really begins, so i have to start putting in some extra work.

well i have a little less than a month till the wedding. These are a few things i'm pledging to do or not do in the next month to make sure i look my best.
1) Keep on with WW!!!!
2) Go to the gym at the VERY LEAST 4x a week.
3) Eat breads and pastas in moderation
4) Cut down on sweets
5) NO MORE SODA!!!
6) come here more often again!!
It seems like a lot, but it's not. I only drink soda a couple times a week as it is, but i'm cutting it out completely. The sweets shouldn't be a problem but the breads and pasta might. but i'll take it one step at a time. WOO GO ME!!!

Today i went to drop off the money i made from selling glow necklaces for work. While there one of the program cooridinators asked me if could step in her office and she offered me 2 more programs to wrok, both being exercisish. 1 is called splish splash, and i basically just work w/ people who like the water but can't swim due to disabilities and we just splash around in the water. the other is 3 hours of hiking with indiviudals with disabilities. I can't wait.

Just poppin in to see how your doing. Try Whole wheat pasta, it has the same cal, but it does feel you up better and holds you for longer. And even whole wheat breads. Look for Western bagels. The 110 cal ones a whole bagel is only 1 point...

I had so much fun. my workout wasn't THAT great. i was too nervous i was going to be late for work, when really i was an hour early..hahaha. my eating has been ok today, except for the HO-HO hahaha. we had them at work, i couldn't resist. but breakfast was a banana, lunch i had pb sandwich, dinner was chicken fajitas again. not the greatest, but it'll have to do for today.

i have friends in. one from Norway and one from Colorado and the person they are staying with needed to drive to michigan last night. so i felt bad making them sit all alone in this apt in chicago, a city neither of them know very well. so i took it upon myself to take them out. we went and got italian ice. which is only 12 calories. and it cured my chocolate craving. we went to a bar and i only had one drink. we then walked aroiund alot and i was sweating like crazy because it was so damn hot out. so i guess they were hungry so went to this little diner i like, BUT i wasn't hungry but we got cheese fries and i just ate a couple. i didn't do too bad. and we walked aboiut a mile. Well by the time i dropped them off, and then dropped off my bf who came with and then drove home it 2:15 in the morning. and i just craashed and didn't wake up until 1000. so no gym, unless i go after work, which is possible depending on how tired i am.

i'm commiting one week to myself. Tuesday - Tuesday. where i have to stick to weight watchers. I want to see what happens. I know i can do this. So if i give myself one week things will be ok. I promise myself. after that week if i really don't think i can do this, i'll re-examine this plan and try something else. BABY STEPS!!

I would have never done that before. and NOW when i NEED to lose to weight I do it. I have to stop. I just don't know how. I haven't been eating right at all. I haven't been to the gym in a week. ANd i'll wake up and tell myself i'm going but i never do. i just don't have the energy. I can't do this anymore i need to get myself in a right place and get this done. Forget the wedding losing anything more than 2-4 lbs is out of the question. Lets just hope that dress fits. And I don't even have it here as motivation because it's being altered. I hope i don't get it back and it's even snugger now that it will fit in the places that were loose before. OH GEEZ!!! HELP!!!

I've come to the realization that whenever i put a time limit on my weight loss i get too discouraged. i'm going to go to weight watchers again. Starting tomorrow morning. i'm going to start getting to they gym again. And doing all those things that once made me feel better about myself. I can do it, this i know.
