Welcome to my world. First off, I thought this thread subject's name is kind of catchy, but I want to admit that I stole it from the book "Confessions of a Shopaholic" - great book, I thought. Anyways, in hopes of not boring everyone of my somewhat humorous life, I'll just talk a little about myself, and what position I am in life as far as weight-loss is concerned.

I'm Rebekah, "Bekah" for short. I am 19 years old, born in St. Petersburg, Florida (I love it there!). I am currently in college @ Florida State University (GO NOLES!), and I am studying lots of things, Business, Apparel Design, & Journalism. My *dream* job is to be an Editor of a Fashion Magazine, but we'll see where life takes me! I have 2 lovely parents, and 1 brother, and 2 sisters. Whew. My brother is older, way older.. he's 31. (My mom's previous marriage!) And my sisters are younger... Allison just turned 18, and Lauren is getting ready to turn 15. AWESOME FAMILY. Love them to death. I live up here in Tallahassee, Florida in a 4-bedroom house, with friends from highschool, 2 boys, and 1 other girl besides myself. We also have a puppy named Lucy....sOooO cute!

I have been obsessed with weight ever since I started liking boys, and I think my 1st "boyfriend" was in the 7th grade, I was 13. I have danced my entire life, and then began playing soccer in 8th grade. I've never been "horribly overweight", but in my freshman year of highschool, I did gain lots of weight. However, I began taking diet pills and lost about 25lbs. That's a pro. But just listen to my cons'... I began having bad kidney problems, and also the diet pills caused some nutrient in my saliva to not help against plaque & gum disease & within 3 months, more then half of my teeth had begun to decay.

I am currently in a long-term, long-distance relationship!! I've been with Tim ever since the night of graduation (June, 2003). Tim was my best friend in the 2nd semester of Senior year. I went to a small Catholic high-school, my class had 140 kids, and I met Tim by sitting next to him in U.S. Gov't, we were slackers "who fell in love". But he's back in St. Pete, and we only see one another once a month. :c(

Weight in my life is an important thing to me right now. I think about it constantly, it even affects my school work. However, I have begun meditations & relaxations & now journaling to help myself along this journey of getting down to my goal weight. To me, weight is just a number, and pant sizes are just a number. I am focusing more on my reflection in the mirror. I am beginning a life-long plan of healthiness.

In this journal, I will be writing three things. 1.) My diet plan for the day, 2.) My exercise plan for the day, and 3.) Just some thoughts from my mind, it will probably have to do with school-work, haha.

At night, I hope to come back and before I go to bed, I will edit my entry, and describe in bold letters how the diet went and the exercise went. What I liked about it, what I worked out the most, etc...

I LOVE encouragements. More than anything in the world, so I am totally welcoming some posts of "tips, comments, hellos, good jobs, eh, not so good jobs, and even little random blurbs"!

I am a copy~cat, lol and I took the idea of that ticker thing in my signature, it is awesome! www.tickerfactory.com

* I have a big Chemistry test on Tuesday morning...eek!

 QUESTION FOR EVERYONE:
* Is it just me, or does everyone else find themselves broke because of Starbucks?! If you love Starbucks coffee shop, what do you usually order? And are there any healthy types of coffee?

HAVE A FABULOUS MONDAY!

RESULTS of the DAY:

**My day went fairly well. I pretty much stayed right on target as far as my diet is concerned. I did not drink any soda or coffee. Yayyy! As for my workouts, I did not go to the gym in the morning, but I did attend the Aerobics/Step Interval class! I had an amazing work~out, it was lots of fun, and I knw I burned lots of calories, afterwards, we focused on crunches. I then went for a long walk on the track and then sprinted. Afterwards, I did more crunches. I love them so much.

**One thing to change: I need to roll out of bed earlier!!!

**Something special that happened today: My classes were cancelled for odd reasons, and I recieved a dozen roses from my boyfriend!!! His lil' letter read:
Rebekah, My love, I love you more than you can imagine. Thank you for making me a better person.Your baby,Tim
... Everyone with me "Awwwww" hahaha, I haven't seen Tim in a long time so it's very special to be sent flowers just to know that he is truely thinking about me!!!

Hi, Rebekah!!! I love the energy that comes across in your writing! And your ticker's showing a nice loss already ... it's not going to take long for that little pink scale to reach its destination with your healthy lifestyle.

No, it's not just you! :) Starbuck's is expensive and for me it's too caloric! When I do go, I have a cold latte with lf milk topped with caramel syrup, but I don't go often. One of the supplement companies I like makes a line of 110-cal, high pro, low carb (I don't low carb but the lack of sugar's nice) coffee drinks in several flavors (cafe caramel, cappucino, mocha). They have real coffee in them and taste just like Starbuck's to me, so that's what I have instead of setting foot in the real place!

Have a great day.

Hello! My name is Lindsey and I just wanted to stop in and say hello. I think you have the right idea in your journal. Up front and honest. I wish I would start doing that! hahaha

Anyway, I was horrified to hear about what those diet pills you took in high school did to your teeth! I have never heard of that before!

Happy 1 year and 5 month anniversary to you and Tim! :)

Hope today goes great!!!

Hiya!!

I'm also a victim of Starbucks......my drink of choice used to be a fat-free latte but at 110 calories it was too high for me (I prefer to eat my calories rather than drink them, har-har-har!) so now I have an Americano every day (or sometimes more than one). And I get them to only half-fill the cup so that it's super strong and satisfying.

Have you thought about getting a small, super cheap espresso machine? I'm going to have to do that when I go back to school in January as there are no Starbucks in town (sad and pathetic, but true....). For less than $40 you can get a half-decent one and make your own lattes, cappucinos, or whatever.....probably save a ton of money over a short period of time!!

:D

Well LOOKY HERE!!! YOU JOURANALED! Yeah! :cheer: Glad to see you made it!

I really don't often visit Starbucks. But My MOM goes every single day. This added hugely to my weight gain last year. Every year I go see her and we go have coffee. Course I was ordering all the seasonal Lattes.

Now if I go I order a FF LATTE, no WHIP... and when I go on vacation next week to see her I'll only be having REGULAR COFFEE... Imagine that? lol

Your doing great! I'll be checking in on you!

*I love the fact that Florida is actually getting pretty cool! Florida State is only like 30 minutes from Georgia (supposedly), so it gets a lot cooler up here then my home town of St. Petersburg/Tampa Bay area.

 QUESTION FOR EVERYONE:
*What types of music, or songs in particular pump you up while working out, doing house chores, or just in general? I'll name some of mine when I post the results at the end of the day telling you how my day actually went.

**Also, I know it's 1:45am! AHH! I'm usually in deep dreaming mode at this moment, but I was the DD (Designated driver) for crazy boys who thought it would be cool to drink heavily on Monday night! You can never tell what's going to happen here at FSU**

Have a GREAT Tuesday!!!!!! Only 2 more days of the week *officially* Since Thursday is Veteran's day, we have no school :D

Sorry that I have been majorly slacking. I am finally done with papers and BIG tests until after Thanksgiving, HUGE burden off my shoulders! I didn't wake up until 12:00pm today because I was EXHASUSTED. But I feel totally rested and so I'm ready for this SLACK day of no classes. On to the good stuff...

As a country, we need to change our lifestyles! I don't know how, but we just need to!

 QUESTION FOR EVERYONE:
*What are the first 3 things you are going to do when you get to your goal weight? Explain!!!! (This is a fun one!!!)

To answer my question from Tuesday, my favorite types of songs to work out too are the hard rock songs too but I also like 80s music and like poppy songs while I'm running!

Have a fabulous Veteran's Day!!!!!

:ribbon: Oh yeah....failed to mention the BEST news: I have lost 3pds! Eeeeeek! And the good part is that I FEEL like I have lost weight and that my body is more energized! Thanks for the support.

 Hey! Well just thought I'd post since I'm actually kind of energized and bored this morning. The weather is so blah, or else I'd be cleaning out my car, but I woke up this morning at 7am, to take a Pilates class. It was lots of fun, I enjoyed it. I feel relaxed and stretched out. I totally recommend Pilates to everyone! For Thanksgiving and Christmas, I am going home and my family has a gym membership at Lifestyles (I believe it's just a chain in Florida, it's a competitor with Gold's Gym), but anyways... they have lots and lots of classes, including a heated yoga/pilates... Has anyone been to a class like that??

Hope everyone's day is going well!

:c( It is hereditary, I promise. The rain is my enemy! hahaha, well okay, my mom ADORES the rain because she always told me the birdies and animals need it and so do the farmers, HOWEVER, my dad was always like "It's a waste of a day, this stupid rain!" ... Ok, so I'm a daddy's girl, I dislike the rain, BUT I do enjoy the rain at night, when I'm snuggled into bed. But in the DAY, when I could be running errands, whyyyyyyyy does it rain? My hair becomes this afro, it's just not pretty, hahaha. But anways, I am determined to eat right & exercise today!

I can honestly say that I am proud of how my day went. I got up early for the 8am Pilates class. I ate correctly, I should of had more water, but, I won't dwell. And then I was going to take a Step class but the instructor didn't show (very weird), so I did the Elliptical for 30 minutes, crunches for 15 minutes, and then spent time working my upper body and did free weights for another 30 minutes. I felt so great afterwards. And then I put my stability ball to use tonight as I sat and watched "8 Simple Rules" and the new series with Dr. Phil's son (who is very cute by the way!!!), they totally re build the house and try to make the family a better one. I probably lost 4 pounds by tears alone, hehehe! But anyways... off to bed. I have a CPR class tomarrow from 10am~6pm.... such a long day!!!!!! :D

Good night all! :)

Hey everyone! Well yesterday I really enjoyed my work~out, but I'm at the point of feeling sore... but I LOVE it. My exercise for yesterday was:

1.Abs & Back class (Focuses on the abdominals and the lower back)
2. 35 min of Elliptical, weight-loss interval, BUT the resistance caused my machine to make weird noises and all of the other ones were taken, so I had to keep the resistance to a minimum, hahaha!
3. Inner & outer thigh machines, 3 sets of 15 reps.
4. A machine called the Paramount, it focuses on the butt (niiiice) and the hamstrings, 3 sets of 10 reps.

Overall, I was very impressed. I am really enjoying this gym thing, and one of the fitness instructors ACTUALLY noticed that I have been coming to the gym repeatedly, she said that I have been really pushing myself and she can see that, and she told me that she's noticed results in me in the past 2 wks!! Well, I went to bed REALLY early last night. I had one of those depressing nights where EVERYTHING seems to be going wrong, and nothing really is good in my life. Things like school, friendships, self-image, close relationships, and the feeling of being homesick and all alone filled up my head. I fought with my best friend in the world, my boyfriend... and I felt the best way of getting away was to just go to sleep. As if this saga continues, I woke up with "Aunt Red" or "TOM" knocking on my door, and that's always a pain! I never usually get cramps, but because of my stress level, they hit me full force and caused me to be in bed all morning long. Thanks to the doc's medicine and LOTS of rest, I am up and feeling better. I'm not really sure if I'm over all my "sadness" from last night, but I kind of like just not thinking about it, so I can go on with my day. I was blessed though, as I was laying in bed, I recieved 3 phone calls from some of the girls in my Spanish class that I had missed this morning and they were concerned about me, and missed me. It made my entire day just wonderful. It's amazing how in the darkest of moments, just a phone call or hello can make the sun appear.

The sadness that I'm feeling doesn't just erupt... it's built upon and built upon until it just explodes. That's why I'm so happy that I have this journal. My boyfriend was the lucky one who got to hear me cry and just VENT about everything wrong in my life last night... needless to say... he was shocked.

I'm not the sad girl. I'm the one who makes people mad b/c I'm always smiling. I guess you could call me a 5-star actress b/c even if I am having a bad day, no one usually can tell. I have an amazing family and lots of blessings. However, all of those blessings cannot be fully used and taken advantage of if the PERSON doesn't have any happiness.

My tummy cramps have subsided. So I will now take this day to reflect on my unhappiness. I hope that I can find the source of the problem... which I'm pretty sure it's just stress and relationships.

:) I am feeling better already by venting! It doesn't even matter if no one reads this, haha, I feel better by just typing it out!!

I hope you all have a great Monday!!!

(I'll post my diet/exercise for the day later on!)

Hi! Welcome to DT! I live in Bradenton! What a small world! Looks like you have some set goals, but i don't know about the DT pills, especially if they have already starting to show signs that are hurting your body. Be careful, I guess is all I can say. If you need any advice on how to survive the long distance thing, my fiance and I did that for well over two years while I went to University of Wyoming and UCF for two years, finishing school. You have great dreams! Never give up on them.

Hey Melinda! Whoa, it is a small world! Thanks for posting on my journal. I just wanted to let ya know though, that my experience with Diet pills occured about close to 2 years ago, so I wrote about it as a *warning* to everyone else that they DO have side effects. I thought at the time it was smart taking them, but in the end after the weight was lost, I was worse off. ALSO, that is soo great that you & your fiance were long distance, don't be surprised if I start sending you messages, hahaha.. The distance is really stressful but totally attainable... and it's proof by your story too! Yayy..congrats. :D

Hi Rebekha,

I'm new and was parousing motivating journals, yours is definately one. I'm very impressed with your workouts. I need to get mine up there too. what do you find motivates you the most?

I noticed in one of your first journals you talked about starbuks, you still go there? i go there all to often. I order a grande nonfat 2 pumps of some syrup latte. 120 calories total.

I did notice that you don't have much fruits and veggies in your diets. I would definately up those. ( i need to also, so i don't know how to incorpoarte it and succeed just know it's what you are suppose to do).

Keep up the wonderful workouts! Do you have any goals to run a marathon or anything?

11-17-04, 03:55 PM
Hey Infiniti- thanks so much for the tips and visting my journal. I need all the help I can get. To me, motivation is key... so instead of thinking if I want to go to the gym, I get my butt in my car and drive there, no complaints. If you start thinking about it, the evil lazyness comes out on your shoulder, he's a bad guy. With as much exercise as I do, I get bored easily. So I try to mix things up. I also like the feeling of sweating and actually feeling like I worked out well, I don't like leaving the gym the way I came in. Also, I love the classes that the gym offers, they are so much fun, and very challenging as well. Exercise to me feels so great, the feeling of a good workout is just amazing... I love it... you feel refreshed, healthy and sexy all at the same time! Haha! Now... STARBUCKS, I love it, but I am holding myself back. I am allowed 2 coffees a week. I used to get one EVERYDAY. So this is hard for me, but I'm going to do it. I haven't had a coffee since Sunday. So it's been 3 days. But Starbucks' atmosphere is so nice, and I love just chatting with my friends over a cup of coffee. I usually got a latte or a carmel machiatto. As for my fruits & veggies, I do need more fruits. I usually cut celery up and put peanut butter on it. But that's the extent of my veggies unless I have some on the side of my dinner, like brocolli. Thanks for the tip!!!!! Come back and post more

In response to Inifinti's question about the Marathon, I am signing up to be apart of the marathon run on June 5th, 2005. It's in California, and it's called "The Rock & Roll Marathon". I am running to represent my Gramma, who was diagnosed with Lymphoma, but she is done with radiation therapy, and she seems to be doing quite well. I don't have a lot of information as of yet, but I will informing you all on my training. Right now, I'm trying to get my body in shape for such an event. I do enjoy running... but this is my biggest life challenge yet. I will be increasing my running times periodically to build my endurance up.

I did team in training too. raised a bunch of money, was going to do the la marathon but broke my little toe half way thru. My mom died of brain cancer due to skin cancer. a little girl i know had leukemia, she is out of chemo and doing well now. fingers crossed. thoughts with your grandma. If you want company i could get my butt in gear and do the rock n roll with you. good motivation, (maybe you could give me a butt kicking when i'm lazy). i think its in san diego?

i have 2 cups of coffee a day. variations get bored easily. if you want to sit at starbucks, try green tea. clears up the face, antioxidants it is really good for you.

i love the feeling after working out too. just i get tired, lazy and my mind forgets about it. I will try to just go. If you like you can email me at infinitiwithoutlogic@hotmail.com.

Hey there, Rebekah!

Wow you make me wanna get up off my butt and move it around some more. Your workouts sound ambitious and wonderful, girl....

So I'm a bit late to your journal, but I've read it all and figured I'd answer your questions anyhow:

*What types of music, or songs in particular pump you up while working out, doing house chores, or just in general?
-For house chores: Oldies. Honestly, I'm not an oldies gal in general, I just find that old time R&B and rock & roll are the absolute best for me to clean to (and sing while cleaning)....For working out: Metallica, Ani DeFranco, most "Alternative" which is really just cynical pop at this point...it's just gotta be up-tempo and usually have a bit of rage in it :) LOL

*What are the first three things you're going to to when you reach goal?
-As for this one...I've gotta agree with Maximum...when I finally reach goal, I'm probably gonna wanna get my boobs lifted...though I disagree with plastic surgery in general, so we'll see. Other activities will include: a nude beach, getting new headshots, and seriously pursuing theatre again.

Anyhoo, nice to meet you...keep up the awesome work - I know it's hard when you're in school; I couldn't even make myself start until I graduated from college: good for you!

Walk in bliss,

morgayne

YESTERDAY'S WORK-OUT
Ok, I gotta brag. I did the Elliptical for 35 minutes. However, I did the Uphill the ENTIRE time, and I was amazed on how many calories I burned. I burned 400 cals, and usually I burn like half of that. It seems like you would be burning alot more b/c it feels like you are working out harder... but 400 cals to me was amazing. Haha, and I think I had 4500 strides.

BY THE WAY ... I think everyone should own a Stability ball, b/c they are so useful. Thing is, they take up ALOT of space, but I get a good AB workout and leg work out with it, & also, it's something you can sit in front of your TV and do while watching your favorite show.

well done on the workouts. Did you see my post on the marathon? How is that going?

I know starbucks is so yummy sometimes i get a caramel macchiato too. I'm hoping to going running or walking tonight.

Be careful with hills the entire time, can bulk up your thighs and butt, unless of course that is what you want : )

well keep up the motivating work. Veggies? i saw lettuce and celery the two least nutrient dense veggies! lol.

Yup, you are right, it IS in San Diego. ALSO, Is green tea good? I'm a wuss when it comes to trying NEW things. And as for the veggies, what can I say? haha, my mom didn't teach me very well. What are some good veggies to eat?? Sorry again about missing the post, but I am EXCITED about having a running buddy!!!!!!!

alright, There is this really cool book for marathons and running in general. I think its' called the ny road runners book on running. i think, i will figure it out when i get home. I can send you a running program if you would like. I'm really good at knowing what to do and writing programs, really bad at following. but maybe if we check in daily i might get enough motivation to stick to it. what do you think?

Infiniti- I would love some of those marathon tips as far as training goes, and definitely get the name of that book for. WE can do this!!!! I ran, well jogged, 2 miles today. The only time I've ever ran more then that was when I played soccer 3 years ago and we would run 3 miles 4 days a week! Also, I need some of those veggie tips! :D

Hi there! I thought I posted once and then when I went back through it didn't post. UGH! How aggravating. You're doing awesome. I just thought I'd tell you! BTW long distance works. My fiance and I did it for well over a year and a half. We live in Bradenton, actually, so I thought that was funny you were from St. Pete. Neither of us from here and hoping to move very soon, but cool! Well keep working hard. I like your goals! Very realistic and you can achieve anything you set your mind to. I truly believe that.

Hiii Everyone, it was a very good weekend, I will tell you all about it, but first off... Thank you Melinda for posting. You did post before, haha, but I love return visitors! And thank you for the reassurance with long distance.

THE WEEKEND
Ok, so Friday, I basically just hung out, didn't do too much. Saturday, my boyfriend came up for the weekend. And a bunch of other people came up too. We had a lot of fun, but then... Florida State lost to University of Florida, it made us all sad (Except for the ONE UF fan in our house!) But it's a football game, and we're all still proud Seminoles! Moving on, the alcohol was all around and temptations were STRONG. I must say that I had a small glass of champagne, and when I drove the drunkards to McDonalds, I passed the food to them with a smile on my face. I didn't even want the fries. WHOA, yes, it's true. Sunday, my boyfriend treated me to a coffee @ Starbucks, which leaves me 1 more day this week to have a coffee (It will be difficult, b/c I'm going home for Thanksgiving!) -- Then Sunday night, I went to movie, I had a couple handfulls of popcorn, but my boyfriend did not put butter on it b/c he knows about my goal. And then I did have *gasp* soda. But you know what, I drank that soda with pride. And thanks to my guzzler boyfriend, I had only a quarter of the cup. Sometimes boys ARE great

PLAN FOR THE WEEK
I am going to St. Petersburg (my home) on Tuesday afternoon until Sunday, it's going to be hard to keep up with my diet, but my sister whose 18 has informed me that she is ALSO dieting, and that is fabulous. We're going to run together, and go to the gym.. and my mom who is a South Beach FANatic will be cooking HEALTHY dinners. It seems way to EASY. (There's gotta be a catch!)

OH YEAH, and I haven't seen my boyfriend in a month before he came up this weekend, and he told me he saw RESULTS. He told me that I am looking leaner and he got mad because he's scared to let me out of his site. HAHA, but now he's wanting to get in on DietTalk b/c whenever he talks to me, I'm always posting. Hmmmm.... It feels good being able to TALK about him, I don't know if I want him getting in on this AMAZING site with these AMAZING people... [-X

Eeek, Infiniti I am starting to get really excited about this training. I'll be posting my run jog every day at night to let you know where I am standing. :D Actually, I am in FLORIDA. Sounds crazy, but I have lots of relatives in Southern California, my aunt "whose 21" weirdly, goes to Long Beach University (CSU) or something like that. I wonder... have you seen that run? Is it up hills? or straight track? My hometown is located in East/Central Florida where the beaches are my best friend, but I go to college in Northern Florida where I must fight the hills, it's basically Georgia. Anyways... thanks for the titles of those books. I'll be sure to talk my mom into buying them for me.

YAYY!! I'm home in St. Petersburg with my family until Sunday. It's great to be back home. It's such a comfort zone for me. As I was driving into St. Pete from college..it's a four hour drive, well,I was right down the street from my house when one of my sisters called and said to meet her on a certain intersection because my dad got in a car accident. Fortunately, my dad walked away from a truck that was totalled. A car had ran the red light, hit a car that was turning and that car that was turning spun and hit my dad's truck. It's amazing that nothing happened to my dad. A miracle really.

So, carrying on... I hope to keep up with my dieting and exercise habits while I'm here, tonight my family is going out for dinner because it's one of my sister's 15th bday. I hope to select wisely :not:

I'll be back tonight to post what I had as far as meals are concerned, hopefully later on tonight I can squeeze in a work out session at the gym since my family has a membership!

Take care! And have a Happy Thanksgiving EVE!

Hey everyone. I hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving. I did have a good holiday with the family. However, I have a problem as of this moment. Well, it's been an on-going problem, but I'm starting to realize it more then ever because it's affecting people around me. Ok, well... I go away to college and since I'm home, you'd think that I'd want to see everyone from highschool and that sort of thing, but I don't. And I don't because I want to be thin and all decked out in cute clothes, etc. to impress them. I'm not really sure why it's like this. But since my boyfriend and I were best friends in highschool and then we started dating, he wanted me to go to our school "St. Pete Catholic" because they are playing in the States Championships for football, one of his brothers is on the team, and one of my sisters goes to the school too. Well, I can't suck it up to go, and now he's upset. I hate being like this but I just cannot see myself going tonight at all. There's going to be tons of people from my graduating class and...sigh...

I'm going to go get some coffee with my little sister, and see if I can maybe make myself go out for once!

Hey everyone. I hope your past couple of days have been very good. I just back into Tallahassee. It was a long four hour drive, but I had my friend Eddie to keep me company! I would love to stay and chit-chat away, but I am about to fall over in exhaustion. My boyfriend is calling me bright and early at around 8, so I will be posting then. Have a fabulous night [to those who are crazy enough to be up at 1AM!!!]

I am starting to find myself slipping and I don't like it one bit. I gained about 3 pounds this week while I was home for Thanksgiving. I watched my diet "sometimes" and other times, well, I ate without caring. I am now back in Tallahassee, and I think I can honestly say that I have to loose this weight for myself, I can't keep making exceptions. I am focusing on ME. I almost want to create a new JOURNAL name, but for now, I think looking at my old posts, it will actually help me along the way. I think that I have been faking myself for a long time, personality wise, diet wise, just overall. I haven't put all my efforts into my school work, I haven't treated my family and friends with respect, I haven't even treated myself right. It's time to grow up and be someone and something that I am proud of. I am sick of hiding in the corner, scared, I am more then that. :D

Tomorrow is my mom's birthday, she'll be 49!! One more year before the FLAMINGOS in the yard. (I don't know if it's just a Florida thing, but when someone turns 50, you put 50 flamingos in the yard).. But WHERE DID NOVEMBER GO? Seems like just yesterday it was October...

Where is everyone anyways?!! Things seem so quiet here on Diet Talk! It must be the holiday season!!

I have considered looking at my diet in another approach. For someone like me, I run and exercise everyday, so I need lots of energy, and I'm a college student, so I need fairly easy and not time-burning recipes. Any ideas?

You know hun I have been trying to post in your journal the last couple of days. Each time I start I end up not being able to finish.

Well, I wanted to tell you that I fully understand what you are saying about not fully telling the truth to people around us and ourselves. I too get that feeling of hiding who I really am. This is due to my fear of my weight. I have been battling that feeling since I was young. When I went to college I opened up a little bit after I had lost some weight and began making more friends. After I gained weight again I am back at it full force. For example I give excuses why I want to keep putting off a trip the amusement park....which in reality I am nervous because I fit really snug in the rides and it is super embarrassing for me and I just feel uncomfortable. I see why you do not want to see people and it would be awesome to surprise them with you super sexy hot bod to be. You should pick and chose things though do not exclude yourself from everything. It will upset people who do not understand your reasoning. It will get better as you become more comfortable with your weight. You are half way there so that is awesome.

I need head back to work.... I hope I made some sense above. Hard to think completely coherently here at work about outside things. I will talk more about with you later I am sure. Do not feel bad about feeling like you do... a phase you need to finish going through. Take care and I hope your Mom has an awesome birthday.

Have you ever THOUGHT so much that it made you sick? Well... I had my STARBUCKS today, yay~yay, and the caffine has got me going LOCO :caf: and then I got bummed out tonight over something SO stupid. My boyfriend and I were chatting on the phone (since we're long distance) and we were talking about people from our highschool because he just got a gym membership (YAY!) and tonight he went to the gym for 2½-3 hours. CRAZY. But he saw a lot of people from our high-school and he started telling me about this girl, a year younger than us, who lost a lot of weight, got breast implants, blah-blah.. and in 20 seconds, I was....JEALOUS , to say the least. I don't even remember the girl, but just the fact that my boyfriend was chatting about her... it just made me sad. :c( So, here I am.... LOCO and SAD at 3am in my bedroom just THINKING. It actually made me sick. And I look at it now and I'm like "I am stupid for even getting upset, I should be HAPPY for her! But yet, I'm so focused on MY weight and MY goals"...

Well- my boyfriend is driving up here to see me (4 hrs) tomorrow afternoon... so I am happy about that. I just hope that maybe he'll see the difference in MY weight. He ALWAYS tells me "I'm beautiful, and perfect to him"... and of course I believe him, I've been with him for a year and a ½. But I think until I TRUELY believe it myself, I won't be satisfied.

With hard work & motivation... I CAN BE SATISFIED. :deer:

Hope you all are SLEEPING well. Good night.

Hey there girly! I can relate to the jealous bone at times. Boys can be so cruel and the funny thing is they don't always know that they're doing it to boot! But you will learn as your relationship grows, that jealousy just isn't worth it. You know he loves you and he was just making a boy observation. Besides, if that girl had to get boob job to make herself feel better about herself, then that shows you where her self esteem is. You rock though!! Keep working hard and you will obtain your goals.

18 days left til' Christmas :deer:

24 days til' 2005 :balloons:

My goal from here on out is to MAINTAIN my habits during Christmas Break. For all of you who don't know me to well, I'm a college student here at FSU, 4½ hours away from my hometown of St. Petersburg/Tampa, Florida. Through my return here at DT and all the support, I have been able to create habits such as eating well, exercising, getting water, de~stressing... I have done a pretty good job (lots to work on though!). However, that's MY routine here at college. When I go home, things WILL be different, I noticed it during Thanksgiving! It was hard!

Right now, I'm studying for finals, I have two more left, and then I'm home-free until Jan. 5th. My GOAL is to get out a plan for myself to do well during the holidays. I have so many resources available. it's just using them and not walking on by.

~I have two healthy sisters, 15 & 18 who can play tennis or go running with me,
~I have a gym membership at home
~My boyfriend just got a membership at the same gym
~I'll be working for my dad to make some extra cash$ and it's a Receptionist job (so I'll be on DT alot!) AND it's only 4 minutes from my house and 1 minute from the gym.... *lunch breaks!*
~My house is basically ALL tile, so I can do some mopping! (Oh nooo!)
~My dogs USED to be resources, but they are soooo old now, they can hardly move!
~I go grocery shopping with my mom (So I can pick out GOOD stuff)

...it sounds so easy! But we all know that dieting through the holidays is TOUGH!

Once again, no posting for diet & exercise today.... I almost can hardly eat b/c of stress and maybe I can through in a walk/run tonight.

Thank you's to BETH and Mclurelab for the support! Thanks girls, it means the world to me.

OKAY, an update on grades so far, just want to get this off my chest, I'm pretty happy so far.

Spanish final - got a 91% on, and I have a 90% A in the class!
Accounting final - got a 79% C+ in, and I have a steady C in the class (Now this means the world to me b/c colleges now have these things called "limited access" programs, and what it means, is you must have good grades to even ATTEMPT to get a degree in that major. So I am taking my basic/core classes and some pre-requistes for the College of Business, and Accounting is the class where 60% of the students FAIL OUT, and you need a C to get into the program. So, YES... making it barely, but I was ever so happy!
Race & Ethnicity final - ???
Chemistry final - I take it @ 7:30am (this morning/Wed. morning), and last year I overslept for my 7:30am exam, so this year, I'm not going to bed. :c(

Well, all of my exams are over and done with, and I am finding myself looking back on this semester and wondering what I could have done better. I guess it's like that in everything we do, whether it's our job, school, how we treated people, actions we made, and even the way we dieted & exercised. A good thing about this Christmas for myself, is that I am truely understanding the REAL meaning of Christmas. I'm 19 years old, and I have been pampered and loved to death by my parents and siblings, and I must say that I always looked forward to Christmas because of the gifts... but it's different for some reason this year. I guess it's part of ''growing up" or maybe it's the fact that I am away from home and not taking advantage of how blessed I was there. I am up here in college, trying to finance my money, and make good decisions. Also, since I live in Florida, I was so BLESSED to have missed those hurricanes that just tore our state apart. And I hear stories everyday about how cities litterally an hour or two South of mine were damaged. They are living out of trailers, with nothing.

Nonetheless, Christmas is really about "the spirit"... and even if you don't celebrate Christmas, just the holidays in general, seem to make the time slow down a little bit, and they seem to show people how blessed they are, even if they feel like nothing is going right. :2cents:

:deer:

I am heading home for Christmas Break tomorrow morning- today is a ME day. A day to relax and unwind, and get ready to battle this holiday food season. Have a fabulous day.

My first real day home from college. I took a look around the fridge, and there are lots of temptations. I told my mom the things that I want/need to continue my diet, and so we're going grocery shopping later tonight. :D

:not: Diet:
B~ Eggs w/ ham & cheese
L~ Subway 6''
D~ Broiled burgers w/ cheese, and a salad w/ mixed veggies

:lift: Exercise:
I am going to try to make it to the gym later on tonight, but I am helping my mom out all day long with these gifts from the "Giving Tree" at my church. But I'll be getting plenty of exercise there!

Tomorrow: My family and I are going to Miami, Florida for a day. It's about a 4hr. drive, but it should be lots of fun. Quick story: My dad's father & mother worked for the United States Embassy when he was growing up, and so my dad lived in Brazil, Argentina, and many other countries. Well my grandfather & grandmother hired a Brazilian nanny to watch after my dad, we call her "Nani" (nonnie) ~ Nani raised my dad until he was 15 and in return, she sent money back home to her kids and husband (Brazil was really bad back then!). Now her and her family live in Miami. And in 1990, my dad's mother died to cancer, and in 1997, my dad's father died to a heart anyerusm (sp?) -- so, Nani is like his "mom" and our "Grandma" now. My parents are REALLY busy with Christmas and such, so we have to make it a ONE day trip, usually we stay a week or so.. but since my Nani is getting really old, my dad likes to visit her every now & then. :D

So we're leaving at 6am, and getting back late Saturday night/early~early Sunday morning.

Have a fabulous weekend!!!

I have been so bad :c( I want to just cry because I really let myself down these last 2-3 days. We're talking some soda, some candy, and little exercise. I knew coming home and keeping my diet was going to be hard, but not THIS hard. Well- my boyfriend and I went to the park yesterday and we were laying on a sheet and just chatting, and we have decided that while I am down, he's going to be my work-out/diet buddy. Today, I am promising myself to do this. This morning, I had some eggs, so for lunch, I am getting a Subway sandwich, and I believe my mom is doing hamburgers and salad tonight. I get off from working at my dad's work around 5pm and my boyfriend, Tim, gets off at 6pm from his job. So our plan is to go to the gym @ 7pm. Support and encouragement is crucial. I feel like I'm going back to my old ways :c(

:not: DIET:
B~ Eggs w/ cheese
L~ Ham&cheese subway 6"
D~ Hamburger & salad (w/ lots of veggies)

:lift: EXERCISE:
35 min Elliptical
Crunches
Lunges
Stretches

Have a great day, I will be back to do some browsing and posting later, but I'm already LATE for work (Thankfully my dad is the boss!) :pass:

:tomato: It's going out of control here in the life of me. I feel like I have NO time for myself, and this is supposed to be VACATION. Don't get me wrong, I love being busy.. but with so many people around me, I keep putting things like: diet, sleep, pampering.. beside me. It sucks :c( I did make it to the gym last night, but I just wasn't focused at all. It was fun working out with my boyfriend though, he's a sports fan-atic and he used to play: football, baseball, soccer, and track & field in highschool, so he's really good at knowing work-outs and stretches. He's always been the strong football guy, but lately he hasn't cared about his diet or exercise and you can tell he misses working out, that is why I am so happy about him getting a gym membership. Now we can both get back into shape. I'm sitting here at my dad's work with chocolates all around me, it really sucks :( lol, I'll do all that I can to NOT take them. I'll be back later on!

Hey Lindsey ~ I'm sorry that you still have exams, they are truely a pain, I know. Almost done though!!!!

Well my buddy "TOM" came a knockin' this morning. And usually I don't really get cramps, but I have them really bad for some reason. :c(

I went to the grocery store w/ my mom last night, and we bought only healthy foods even though no one in my family is really on a diet.. they have begun to incorporate that "healthy lifestyle" of eating.

DECEMBER 16th, 2004

:not: DIET:
Breakfast~ Eggs w/ cheese
Coffee
Lunch~ Subway 6"
Dinner~ Ground beef, veggies, and a salad

:lift: EXERCISE:

I am trying to get back into the routine habit of eating and exercising... it's very hard for me to do :( But hopefully I'll get it down before next Monday!!!

ARGH. Christmas is eight days away and I am not even close to accomplishing my goal. I am getting set-back by various temptations in my life here at home. I think a major problem is over exerting myself to be with someone and helping someone at every second of the day. If I'm not running errands, I'm working. If i'm not working, I am meeting up with my boyfriend. I just do not have time for myself and it is setting me back. I loved having 2 hours of free time to primp and pamper. Not to mention TOM came a day ago. He's left me with 3 huge pimples and bloated belly. But underneath a small weight gain of 1lbs and the lack of quality sleep... I see hope. If you know me, you know that I am always an optimistic person. Always smiling. It's my way of not failing. I am looking ahead at my goals and I can't help but smile because I have some definite things to look forward to:

- Monday, Dec. 20 -- Dentist appt. Teeth cleaning and facial work finished for my teeth that had decayed from use of diet pills 2 yrs ago. An awesome smile can go a long way!!!!!!!!!!!

- CHRISTMAS!

- Wednesday, Dec. 30? -- I am getting my hair cut [trimmed]~ hightlighted~ and styled.

- Jan. 2 -- I am going to Miami to shop with my sisters and mom. Female bonding time at the mall. It's a four hour drive to Miami to shop, but it's definitely worth it. My goal... 145lbs by Jan. 2. That's a 7 lb loss. A little extreme... but I must shoot high.

- Jan 5 -- Back to college. Brand new classes. Time to start fresh and pick up that awesome routine.

~ Goal for tomorrow:

DECEMBER 18th

:not: DIET~
Breakfast: Eggs w/ cheese
Lunch: Ground beef and veggies
Dinner: Out to dinner with my boyfriend

:lift: EXERCISE~
8am ~ 2 hr walk along the waterside of St. Petersburg with my sister Allison, time to bond, chat, and loose some cals.
1:30pm ~ Cheering on my lil' sister Lauren @ her soccer game
3:30pm ~ Walking the mall with my boyfriend looking for gifts!!!!
5pm ~ Quick gym date with the boyfriend, showering up, then my boyfriend is taking me out for a special date. I am hoping its Ice skating OR roller skating!!!!! :D Either way, I am MOVING!!!!!!!

I am ready to breakthrough this awful standstill in weight. Thank you all for all the support and encouragement. :deer:

Hey! Well things are going steadily. I can't complain but I can't brag either. My eating habits do need a change, but they aren't ridiculous... and I would like to kick up my working out status too. It's just so hard here at home to devote time to myself. With two other sisters, and a boyfriend... it's no wonder why I love being alone up at college so much! I've pretty much figured nothing is going to get drastically better as far as working out and eating go here at home. It bums me out. I thought I could do it, but I guess I just don't have the motivation. :c( Maybe if I was to spend just one day on myself, maybe I could catch up and then my body would kick it into second gear so I can get back to the way I was, routine-wise!!!!!!

It's about forty degrees here. COLD to us Floridians....burrrr!!!!!

I'll be back in a little bit with my diet and exercise plan for the day! :pass:

After watching THE SWAN last night on television, I wanted so badly to be a contestant. I would love no mirrors for 3-4 months, and then wake up on the last day of the third month to see myself BEAUTIFUL. Some of those transformations were amazing! But besides to being a Swan, I am feeling more like the GRINCH this morning. I have YET to go Christmas shopping because I have helping out so much around the house, and taking my sister's places. Needless to say, I'm STRESSING. I want to buy GOOD gifts for my family and especially my boyfriend. My boyfriend, Tim, is one of those guys who need everything, yet doesn't really need anything. (make sense?) He's 20 years old, and works M-F 8am-6pm and then on Saturday from 8am-3pm. I was going to buy him a Fishing charter, where he can go out and fish for HOURS with Captains. (He LOVES to fish)... but with his schedule, I don't think I'd able to set up a time of day. I feel like just singing along to Christmas songs, dwelling, and hoping and praying that on Christmas morning, SANTA will bring an extra gift to all my relatives and friends :o Hahaha... okay, so I better get to the mall... at least it's exercise right??? :pass:

Phew !!! :D I just read your whole journal!! Your a very motivating girl!!

Congrats on your finals, I just graduated in July so I know how tough they can be. I hope you got some shopping done. Christmas will be here in no time :deer: .

About the veggies, I eat a ton, literally. I just find ways to make them into tastier creations. I eat a lot of stir-frys, I make healthy pumpkin pie, zucchini muffins (you can't taste the zucchini), "faux" mashed potatoes (w/ cauliflower), lots of casseroles. I pretty much add them to everything I can. I love peppers, onions and mushrooms put on top of chicken and sprinkled w/ some low fat cheese. There's a ton of possibilities.

Spinach Balls
2 10oz packages chopped frozen spinach (make sure you draink this REALLY well)
4 eggs, beaten OR 1 cup whites (I usually do 2 whole eggs, 1/2 cup whites)
1 stick melted butter OR 1 cup FF butter (promise spread)
1 large minced onion
1/2 c Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp garlic salt

Cook and drain spinach. Mix together remaining ingredients and combine with spinach. Chill until butter is hard enough for mixture to be shaped into balls. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.

Kidney Bean Salad
1 can (16 ounce) light red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1/2 small onion, chopped
chopped cucumber
1/4 cup Italian dressing (fat free)
1/4 cup water
yellow corn (1 can)
Green beans (2 cans)
Splenda (2 packets)
Bacon bits (optional)
2 Large chopped tomatoes
Parmesan cheese (1/2 cup)
Garlic salt

Preparation:
In a bowl, combine beans, onion, cucumber, salad dressing, salt and pepper; stir to combine. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Just before serving, stir in tomatoes; sprinkle with cheese.

Sweet Potato Protein Pancakes
1 med. sweet potato
3 egg whites
1/2 tspn cinnamon
1/2 tspn vanilla (without alcohol)
2 tablespoons Quaker oatmeal
2 scoops ANY 100% Whey protein

Pierce sweet potato and wrap in a wet paper towel. Microwave on HIGH 5-8 minutes. Remove skin and mash with the remaining ingredients in a medium bowl. Mix well and pour onto a heated skillet. Cook 2-3 minutes over medium heat, turn and cook an additional 2-3 minutes. Serve with sugar-free syrup.
Makes 3 pancakes.

"Faux Mashed potatoes"
1 pkg. frozen cauliflower or 1 lb. fresh
3 TB. butter OR 3 tbs. Promise butter (fat free)
1/3 cup fat free sour cream
1/3 cup fat free cream cheese
salt and pepper to taste
2 TB chopped chives
*optional* sometimes I add in cooked turkey bacon and top with mozzarella cheese. Laughing cow light swiss is really good mixed in it too!!

In a saucepan or vegetable steamer, cook cauliflower until very tender, about 10-15 min. Drain cauliflower until all liquid is gone. In a glass bowl combine cooked, drained cauliflower, sour cream, cream cheese and 1 TB of the chives. Using a hand mixer, whip the cauliflower until smooth. Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with remaining chives.

Do you know how many calories you eat per day? I can't really tell because I don't know the amount of the food your eating, but your cals look pretty low for your activity level. I'm the same way, mine are always low or way too high! LOL!!

Have a good Christmas! :D

Well guys, I'm a bummin'... I have been naughty to the core with my diet & exercise. And my personality is just crap too. I don't really understand what's going on here. I absolutely DO NOT want to go to *the* mall everyone goes to, in fear of seeing someone I know (like from highschool or church!)... and I'm DREADING mass on Saturday for Christmas. :c( I don't know why I am being like this. I guess I am kind of getting a little depression. *sigh* I wish this whole weight loss would happen in an instant. It's killing me that I'm out of my routine, and I am wanting more then ever to go back to my house in Tallahassee (where my college is) and pick my routine back up. I was starting to like to shop for MYSELF. And I was enjoying hanging out with people again. Now - I'm back in this slump. Sometimes I just tell myself to grow up and get over it, but I constantly compare myself to others.... it has got to stop. Hopefully once I wake up in the morning, this drag will be gone, and the normal peppy me will be back!!! Have a great night 'yall. And good luck with last- minute Christmas shopping and all that fabulous wrapping left to do.

Thank you Andrea for stopping by and leaving me those recipes! You are the best! (I also posted in your journal!) Welcome to DT!!

Hey!! Why is it that you don't want anyone from school to see you? When I first graduated, I worried about bumbing into someone I knew and not looking like I did look or worrying if I had gained weight. But, eventually I did bump into people and I saw that I wasn't the only one who did gain a little weight and I actually didn't gain as much as others. When your ready your ready though. You shouldn't do anything that your not ready or comfortable with. But don't let you not liking your weight hold you back because most people don't notice.

Have a good night!! Tomorrow I have a Christmas party at work, keep your fingers crossed for me that I don't eat anything bad :D

Hey everyone! I have begun posting to journals, but I still have lots of making up and catching up to do. I HATE being away from DT too long. I feel like I am missing out on so many lives and stories! But I am HERE now, and I have made a promise to myself to check in AT LEAST once a day. Even if it's to post to ONE journal or reply. :D

Diet & Exercise... the two words that mean it all. I have been mediocre on both. I really shouldn't complain about myself b/c the temptations in my house are like hanging all over my head. I have made some wise choices and some...well...not-wise choices over the past couple of days. I go back to college on the 4th. However, I have been thinking about going back earlier, but we'll see about that one. -- Last night, I played a game of tennis with my boyfriend. That was fun, and to keep warm I RAN to the ball instead of walking! hahaha. This coldness makes you want to stay inside, under the covers!!! But I definitely need to get OUT from under the covers. I know I have gained, whether inches or pounds. It's depressing, but I'm not giving up faith just yet! I know that once I get back to college, and get back into my old routine of exercising every day, RUNNING, and eating well... I will be well on my way to losing what I've gained over XMAS break plus more!

:cheer:

There really hasn't been any interesting stores in my life lately, it's actually kind of boring right now. Classes start up on the 5th. I am pretty excited about that! :D

And of course, the New Year is coming, so I will be having TONS of resolutions for 2005. I actually told my boyfriend that we need to sit down and write ours down together so that if we start slacking, we'll have one another to help us out. :not:

Tonight:
-- Gym @ 7pm, with my boyfriend. We're going to make it a long work-out because he's going to show me all the exercises I can do, as far as weight-lifting is concerned. He's like my personal trainer... just FREE!!!!!!! :mus:

Have a great day!!!!!!

I enlisted into the Healthy Living Bootcamp. :whip: I am NERVOUS & EXCITED all @ the same time. I think my biggest fear is getting to DAY 13 of PHASE 1- and having to start all over because I cheat!!! The bootcamp is THREE PHASES. 1st PHASE is 2 weeks long, if you cheat, you must start over from the beginning!! X-( It's going to tough and painful, the biggest note was: NO EXCUSES!! None once so ever! Sickness, tired, anything... no excuses.

Jan. 1, 2005 starts my journey. I will fail. But I will finish this bootcamp. And I hope to be a big support system for everyone signing up for this bootcamp!!! I encourage everyone to enlist, and list goals that are manageable. I have printed my goals out so I am constantly reminded!!

On a better note, I am getting PAMPERED today!!~ At 2:15, I have an eyebrow wax appointment, 2:30, I get my hair highlighted, cut, and styled :caf: Then I'm going shoe shopping w/ my lil sister, and then home to help paint the dining/living room. My mom just ordered NEW furniture from a company and the furniture is IN, but the room has YET to be painted, so my mom is screening the calls until she gets the room painted, hahaha, it's kind of funny, but the family is going to just DO IT all tonight.

7pm tonight, I have another gym date with my boyfriend.

HAVE A FABULOUS DAY!!!!!

We also focused on our shoulders & chest for weight-training. He's slowly teaching me some tips and ideas!

Plan for today:

2 hour walk along the beach shore since it's getting warm outside again!
Good for walks, but I want that cold weather back!!!

Gym, more cardio, and focusing in on the arm muscles (bis-tris..etc..)

I hope you all have a great day!! :D

Computers are a pain-in-the-butt. ARGH. Oh well, moving on.. overall, my day went okay. My diet wasn't too great. Reasons for that: soda, coffee, and out to lunch with my boyfriend and lil' sis. It was a TASTEY burger though!! I am trying to shut out all these ridiculous cravings! JAN. 1ST marks the day of touture...hahaha, just kidding. It marks the day of a LIFE CHANGE. Confused? JAN 1ST marks the first day of BOOTCAMP.

Off subject, but MTV is running Newlywed marathons and I am absolutely LOVING it. I am a die-hard Jessica & Nick fan. Especially Jessica Simpson, she is my TRUE idol :o

Back to reality... my best friend called me out of the blue today!! (We live 5 min. away from each other, yet, I rarely ever see her b/c we're so busy!) BUT, she called me and informed me that I am accompaning her to an outlet mall tomorrow morning. Gosh, gotta' love best buds. Yep.. I'm up @ 1:45AM but you better believe MY BUTT will be outta bed & READY for shopping @ 8AM  I definitely need a girls-bonding day. It's been a long time since I've had that!

So plans for tmw (today).. Mall, work for 4 hrs, then nothing planned for the new year celebration.

2005 will be a year of:
~ New friendships
~ New attitudes
~ Skinniness
~ Discovery of myself

Have a blessed day/night!!!

Yesterday~ Went well. First day with new outlook, first day of the year, and first day in bootcamp. I completed all of my goals, except for the working out one (as in going to the gym) b/c I ended up helping my parents paint the inside of our house. However, I'm okay in bootcamp b/c my goal that I listed instructed me to: workout at least 5 days a week. My goals are as follows:

*1* I will: exercise at least 5 days a week

*2* I will: drink at least 8 glasses of water each day of the week

*3* I will: create a meal plan and stick to it!

*4* I will: post everyday in my journal here at DT, and continue to post and support others as well.

*5* I will: run/walk at least 5 miles each week.

*6* I will: not eat fast food with the exception of salads & Subway.

*7* I will: wake up before 10 am each morning, in order to complete all the tasks I have planned for the day. No more sleeping in until 1pm, it puts my habits of healthy eating behind for the day.

*8* I will: not drink more than 3 coffees a week from Starbucks.

*9* I will: find ways to increase my veggie in-take.

*10* I will: get more involved on campus , building friendships and skills can make a world of difference in a persons confidence.

Definite LOSER here. And not in weight or inches either. I messed up today, BIG TIME. It's back to DAY 1 tomorrow for bootcamp, kind of bummed, but I gotta pick myself back up.

Back to college tmw. 1 class @ 6:45pm. Accounting 2! FUN! hahaha!

Tomorrow- I will be busy all morning, on the road for 4 hours, class, and then going GROCERY shopping. I already made my list. I am not getting any foods that would lead me to break my goals for bootcamp.

Tmw is a new day, and I know that, so I will be on top of things. NO fast food, unless it's Subway. It's back to WEEK 1 for myself so from now until NEXT Wed. (Jan. 12), I must do the following:

-Exercise 5 days
-Eat no fast food
-Wake up before 10am
-Drink 8 glasses of water each day
-Run 5 miles
-Follow my meal plan
-Drink no more than 3 coffees a wk
-Find ways to increase veggie intake

I will not be on in the morning to post for JAN.5TH :o I will be too busy packing and stressing out. I will be back tmw night, to drop in and say hello and how my day went.

Have a great night and an even better day tomorrow.

Supposedly at my house, there is a party tonight! I overheard one of my roommates yelling it as he walked out the door, haha.. So we'll see what happens. I don't drink- so I may be the "mother" of all these drunk kids- but it's better than being drunk myself, for sure.

Have a great day everyone, I am GOING to accomplish this DAY 3!!!!

I agree with the $$ for books. One semester I spent over $300 on books. I was so mad!!! Blah! I know how that is to be the "mom" of my drunk friends. I don't drink as much as I used to, back in my college days. I still enjoy it occassionally. Looks like you're doign awesome though! great goals! Have a wonderful weekend.

Hey ToningUp- Thanks for the support! That chicken salad was amazingly good. I feel energized and ready for the rest of the day!

AND omg, I'm a DIET TALKER. Hahaha, I love how your posts reflect your status, that is so GREAT. 200 posts. Seems like nothing compared to those 3,000+ posts some people have. But I am definitely making it my goal to begin posting more often to support others.

What's the next step after DietTalker??

Well- it's Thursday. I had a great day of classes. Missed breakfast from a rushed morning-- but I had classes back-to-back, and I didn't feel the hunger pains until lunch time, thankfully. I HATE hunger pains. The gargeling. Eek. But anyways, so far, so good! I am heading to the gym @ 4pm for a Body Tone class.

Thanks Heather, for stopping by. You are an awesome buddy for sure. I haven't too much else, other that she will be in the hospital until April, and she was on a breathing tube. :( I feel so bad for her. She was so innocent. But now, more then ever, I realize what I did was good. :o Thank you for all the support through Bootcamp. We are getting new buddies in a couple of days :c( But I will definitely stay in touch with you! Good to know that you are still doing well also.

YAY, I love Saturdays! Well I have been rushing for this particular sorority. Lemme explain it 1st. It's called Delta Nu Zeta, and it's unlike the "typical" sorority. There are only like 40 girls, and the max they would like to get to, would be like 80. Other sororities have 100++. They don't have a "house". However, most the girls IN the sorority have houses, so it's basically the same thing. It's just that the houses are not on campus, and they don't house 40+ girls. Secondly, the expenses are WAY cheaper. It's $200 a semester, however, they figure that if something comes up, like everyone wants to have a formal, then you'd pay then. Instead of paying up front, and then not being able to go. Other sororities are like $1000 a semester or something. They have socials (where you dress up as a theme and bring a date), they have semi-formals and formals. It's basically like a group of girls who want to have fun, and love to go out and meet new people. I figured that I'd try it out, and my 1st day went great. 3rd day was cuts, and I made it. Last night was dinner and a mock of "speed dating" where you talk to each girl for like 3min. TODAY-- if I get selected to be a "sister", the girls will actually come to my house between 5 & 6pm and take me. Sooooooooooo.... I'm going to patiently awaiting their arrival! *fingers crossed*

On to my plan of action for the day!

JAN. 15TH, 2004

----- DAY 11 -----

:not: DIET~
B: Scrambled eggs and canadian bacon
Mini-lunch: Salad with grilled chicken
Snack: Granola bar
Snack: Yogurt
Dinner: IF the girls come to get me, I'll be eating dinner with them! IF not, I do have a back-up plan: hamburger patties.

:lift: EXERCISE~
+ Totally re-organizing my bedroom (as far as clothes go!)
+ Hopefully making a trip to the gym, but we'll see! If I do go, 30 min on elliptical, walk/run 1 mile, stretching, and abs
+ CLEANING!!! <~ That burns a lot of calories!!!

:cheer:

Have a great day!! Talk to you all later!

HOWDY! YES YES YES, I was taken away, so I am officially a DELTA NU. It makes me so happy for a bunch of reasons. 1st) Girlfriends are like SISTERS... They are always there for you. And aside from my HOMETOWN girlfriends, I don't (or didn't) have any girlfriends up here in college. 2nd) Through the sorority, I will be able to get MORE involved on campus! 3rd) They do lots of charity work, and I LOVE helping the community and people in need. 4th) You can learn so much from people that you probably would have never talked to, and it's those lessons that will stick in your mind.

OKAY, getting too sappy.

TODAY was a GREAT day (Aside of fighting with my boyfriend who is long distance!) -- I met up with an old friend. This girl and I were like the type of friends where we hung out for a month straight, and then didn't see one another for a month, and then just catch back up and hang out again. Those are the best. Well, we went to mass together (something I've been really needing to do), and then we went to the coffee shop to catch up. We talked for 2 hours, about everything and nothing. We have SO much in common, and we both want to get involved, so we've already planned to go to the Catholic Student Union meeting on Wednesday, and then the College Republican meeting on Thursday night.

MY BOOTCAMP GOAL #10 is coming true!

On to my diet/exercise re-cap:

Thank you Beth and Melinda for stopping by and checking up on me. That feels so good. You should have seen me yesterday just patienting waiting for someone to come to the door, meanwhile, my boyfriend and mom are calling me non-stop "Did they come yet? Did they come yet?" and I am like litterally freaking out, and I have my roommates who are BOYS waiting around so they can CHECK the girls out, so I had so much pressure on me, and then I hear the doorbell ring. And NO ONE rings the doorbell, they always just walk right in, so I silently screamed and they came in and gave me a shirt to put on and had this star with my name and the name of the sorority on it, and they put it on my door, and we left and headed over to the President of the sororities house, and had a mini- BBQ and chit-chatted. Thanks again! :o

Congrats on the Delta Nu thing! That is really exciting. I never got to go to college and do the sorority thing. Something I always wanted to do but didn't. Got married at 18 instead. So now I am too old and will live through you instead if that is ok. LOL I'm sure you will have loads of fun. It's nice to see younger people involved in charities. I work for a not for profit organization that helps people with developmental disabilities. It's really nice to find good volunteers. We really appreciate it!

Take care and have fun

My workouts seem to be getting more intense. 40 minutes isn't bothering me while I'm biking, so I am going to try to keep my RPMs up above 80. The Elliptical is a great workout and of course running and walking. It feels so great to have so much energy!

I have been so busy but I have been able to keep up on my goals for Bootcamp. One more day and I will be into PHASE #3. I am so happy! I have noticed changes in my skin tone, my complexion, my energy level, and even the way some of my clothes fit. I still have a while to go, and I know some changes that should go into effect for Phase #3 to see the changes. I have become accountable for myself, realizing that weight loss is a battle against one's self -- I put this weight on, I am the only one who can take it off. :) Have a great Monday!

Total weight loss since the beginning of Bootcamp: I started at 154, and I am now down to 147. 7 pounds gone forever :D

It's true! I have officially made it to PHASE #3 in Bootcamp. :) I am taking a day off to figure out what I want my goals to be for Phase #3. Everything else in my life is going well, I am way more busy then ever before, and I enjoy it. I am so energized, I don't feel like sleeping in or just hanging out at my house anymore. Also -- good news, my sister Allison got into FSU, so we are going to be living together next year! YAY! :D I know sometimes, we get into sisterly fights, but we bond pretty well. We are total opposites so it makes it easy to get along. Let's see... right now I am feeling pretty sore (muscle wise). My inner thighs burn at every step. OUCHIE!

Hope you are all doing well <3

Hey Rebekah..

I have been too busy to read other journals, basically I just try to keep mine somewhat updated. Everything has been going pretty well. My diet and exercise over January was really consistent so I'm about 5 more pounds away from my goal of 175. That is exciting. lol. I am dating a girl I met, her name is Katelyn. Things are going really well. We've been together about a month, so I'm excited. I was getting so frustrated in a way because over the last year I had been on several dates but nothing that led to anything. I'm glad I was patient because so far everything has just clicked, and that is exactly what I wanted. She lives about 40 minutes away from me and goes to a different college, so we only see each other a couple times a week. But I think that can be good, it makes your time together more special when you dont see each other everyday. Anyways, I could probably ramble on about her all night, so I better just stop now. lol. I hope everything is going well too! Just let me know how you've been in my journal...

Take care.

I have figured out my goals for PHASE #3 in Bootcamp.... they are:

1. Work out 6 out of 7 days
4 of those days must be cardio
Cardio must be 40 minutes or longer
3 of those days must be weight training
I will create a weight training plan (different body parts each day)

2. Continue drinking 8 glasses of water each day

3. No bingeing or heavy snacking

4. No fast food (besides salads)

5. I will walk/run at least 2 days of the week.

6. I will broaden my food choices by cooking real dinners and trying new things. (I am tired of the same ole' stuff)

Goal: 5 pd loss
Start date: Toady, Feb. 3rd
End date: Feb. 16th

I hope that I will be able to notice a huge difference after this PHASE! I want to see pant size differences!!!!
