Coming here and starting this journal will be a big step in the right direction for me. I am usually really shy and reserved with ppl i don't know but i am tossing that out the window and making steps to the new healthier me.

Today i woke up and ate 2 crustless veggie quiches, 2 slices of turkey bacon, 6oz. glass of V-8 and a huge glass of water. I did 50 sit-ups and push ups and after lunch i will do about 30 mins on the bowflex. untill then running after my niece will be a workout on its own.

well i had my morning snack of a cheese stick and tons of water. i dressed my niece[she is off track in year round school] and took her for a walk to the park. i let her play while i walked the jogging path around the park for about an hour. then we walked home i fixed her lunch and mine. i had a 2 egg white omlete with cheese and a small salad and water.

i put my niece down for her nap and read all japanese manga "naruto" 2 volumes then had my mid afternoon snack. i cleaned the house. i then called my best friend like i do daily to check on what she ate and give her support since she is at work and needs it. most the day one of our friends trys to get her to fall off the wagon but my calls keep her stern.

I made dinner around 6pm. i had grilled buffalo chicken strips, green salad, brussle sprouts, a sugar-free fudgesicle and tons of water. with dinner dishes done by 8pm[i'm a really slow eater by natture] i settled down for my fav show LAX, Kevin Hill and law and order. when they were over i did 50 sit-ups and push up.

this completes my first journal entry for november 17, 2004.

By the end of this day i will tell every lil thing i ate and did during the day that contributes to my goals. i will do this faithfully everyday this will also be one of my goal cause i am usually a lazy slacker but i can't live like that anymore

Hey DragonFruit, good luck with everything and welcome to DT. Journaling is the best way to lay out your plan. It makes things a lot easier to look at and accomplish. I am too a shy person about things such as weight and my workouts, but here at DT, I share everything! EVERYTHING. Hahaha. Again, good luck and I'm looking forward to your summary of your day as far as exercise & diet is concerned.

About the start my day 2 journal entry.

i am about to eat breakfast: egg white omlete, 2 slices of turkey bacon, 6oz. of V-8 and tons of water. i'm cramping super bad but i did my sit-ups and push-ups 50 each. i helped my niece learn new words then popped an excedrin. at 11:45pm i had one stalk of celery with half a tbsp. of low carb peanut butter and a 20oz glass of water. at 2:30ish ill have a lunch of 2 grilled chicken tender strips over green salad and water. I will try to walk today if my ccramping eases up a lil, if not i will just use the bowflex.

my cramps arent letting up any and now i have a head ache. i had 20 peanuts for my afternoon snack and lotsa cold, cold water. i didnt do as much walking as i would have liked to but half way down the levy and back should be just under a mile so im feeling good. i drank way more water then usual today, the coldness of it hitting my tummy eased my cramps a bit.

for dinner i made a t-bone with a blue cheese sauce, steamed broccoli and brussel sprouts along with a tall glass of water. i watched 2 episodes of I lost on the health chan and calbe my satelite provider about getting fitTv. around 7:30pm i had a sugar-free popsicle and more water. now i am about to do my 50 sit-ups and push-ups then i will be off to bed. nite nigh all :)

this has been my day 2 journal entry looking forward to add more.

Look at you go!

Great menus....ya know, the one problem with reading journals is that so many people describe such yummy menus, it can make me hungry! LOL

Thought I'd peek in on you, as I am a N. Cali girl myself...always nice to meet "neighbors"!

Walk in bliss, have a wonderful day!

Hiya Morgayne thanks for stopping by my journal. the stuff i eat is good and healthy now. in my egg white omlete i use 2-3 egg whites, parsely, pinch of kosher salt pepper to taste. whip till slightly frothy, heat your skillet and add 2tsp of olive oil. pour in eggs and make as you would a regular omlete. i then and veggies of my choice or a cheese of my choice.

me and my friend[black] [mostly me] reinvent tons of recipes since im jamaican/cherokee/black and from VA. southern country/soul food, food is a no-no on low carb diets. like say fried chiken, i can't have flour ad i don't like how it tastes with soy flour. so i just season the chicken as usual minus flour of any kind i leave skin on[its not a weekly thing maybe twice a month maybe] and fry it till the skin is crispy. ppl never notice there is no flour.

or you can do chicken party wings the same way for great buffalo wings. then use 1 bottle of franks hot sauce, 1 tbsp of butter or i can't believe it's not butter or olive oil and 1 tbsp of vinegar cook in sauce pan on med till reduced a bit.add a bout 3 tbsp to 6 wings and toss. save the rest of the sauce for later use in fridge.
