View Full Version : ~Jessi Could Use Alot of Exercise Support~
Okay, so here's the details of my life since being here a few weeks ago. Okay, I now am on my thyroid medicine, and still on the anti depressants...and am on a med to help the cholesterol and triglycerides.
Have also decided to pay a psychologist to help me through the emotional issues I used to try to avoid with eating.
I am NOT dieting but am exercising...therefore, I could use a very lot of support from you all.
My goal is an hour a day of some type of great exercise. I am having to build back up to that hour because I took a month off from walking, so now have to build back up. I did 20 minutes on the treadmill yesterday. I'm just at the tail end of having a really bad bout with a bronchitis type cold, daughter is now having the same sickness and it really blows.
I am planning on going back to work next month...full time, evenings...so it leaves me planning my one hour a day of exercise.
Anyone can log in my journal and give or receive support here. It's not just for me...but for anyone who wants to buddy up and cheer each other on.
I am planning to be up to an hour by the new year.
So 2005 here we come, but not planning to rush Christmas out of the way.
I am feeling really bummed right now, cuz we are delving deep into the emotional issues and we are having a little financial difficulty, nothing a couple of weeks won't clear up...but I will be glad to go back to work so I can help out financially.
On the marriage and family front everything is going pretty smooth. Husband is being kind, caring, loving and considerate, Thank God, and kids are doing well.
So, I am putting out a plea for support. Hope to hear from ya'll.
Jumpsoda 12-15-04, 09:51 PM I think thats great that your seeing somebody about the issues with food. It takes a lot of courage but it is better than going down the same road over and over again. Really blown away by your strength of character to do that. :)
Hi Jessi, Great ideas you have. Sorry to read you have had health issues, too. Tis the season!! But it really brings things to a halt. Are you still mall walking? i did walk on the treadmill a couple times this week. I figure my let hurts if I do or don't. Might as well get on it. Take care of yourself!! :deer:
JUMPY!!!! Thanks for the support! I have always been "too proud" to admit I need anyone or help or anything, but comes a time when you have to admit that what you are doing is not working and you get tired of spinning your wheels and have to admit you need a tow! Ya know? Thanks again, for thinking that is "strength of character" when I was thinking about it as a HUGE WEAKNESS! I will look at the cup half full and quit beating myself up! You're a good guy and I'm glad you're here for me!
Susan,
You are always there for me...I just hope I can be as much of a support to you as you are always with me. Glad to see ya here! And to answer your question, we haven't been walking at the mall, cuz I have been pretty sick for about a month and now my youngest has been sick for almost two weeks. When we are over this, we will be doing the mall walking, but for now am using the treadmill.
...............
Tonight I did 45 minutes on the treadmill. My right lung started hurting really bad, so I took a couple of puffs of Albuterol...and stopped for the night. No use wearing myself out. Tomorrow, I will take the Albuterol first and hope that it wards off the asthma attack.
Hey guys!!!
Today I'm planning to do another 45 minutes to an hour on the treadmill.
I hope you all have a GREAT DAY! Christmas is coming! :deer:
BuckeyeSHS 12-16-04, 10:26 AM Hey Jessi!
Just catching up in this new journal, but I wanted to say that I think you are taking some really great steps towards your health! It seems with NDA the two main keys are controlling emotional overeating and being active and you are working on both. That is really fantastic!!
I am sorry to hear that you all have been sick! I hope you get to feeling better soon!
-Lindsey
Hey Lindsey! Glad to hear from you.
I still haven't exercised today, yet. All of my muscles in my back and legs and shoulders are sooooo sore! I have bouts with this still yet, recouperating from that bout of sickness. I still think I am gonna try to get on the treadmill at least 5 minutes...and if I feel like going longer I will...if not, at least I got on it.
Jess :)
Hi Jessi,
i am sorry to hear that you have been sick and that your youngest is sick now.. getting back into the exercising after being sick is hard.i remember when i had bronchitis and i did too much too soon and ended up sick again..Good for you on easing back into it and taking it slowly.
i wish you much luck with your journey, its nice to see you back posting.
hugs bell :)
Off to do 20 minutes...still a little sore today, but figure I'll get on it for 20 minutes then hit the showers. I am gonna go eat breakfast first. Have a great day, all. I'm endeavoring to have a great day.
Thanks for posting, Bell. :)
I DID IT! I prayed and praised and worshipped while treadmilling...I put on a cool CD and cranked the sucker up and went to it! Whew...invigorated...but stuck to the 20 minutes so as not to overdo, yet.
Just wanted to let ya'll know that I DID IT! YEAH! :D
I did another 20 minutes this afternoon while I watched a Christmas video with my daughter. :D
Congrats Jessi, twice in one day, you rock!!! Keep it up, you can do it!
Thanks Elsie, I appreciate the support!
I'm planning to go do 20 minutes on the treadmill here in a little bit. Am drinking some coffee and reading some posts and surfing the web this a.m. but really want to hit the treadmill early...that works out soooooo well...cuz then I can hit the shower, dress up (trying to dress up every day and do my make up and hair and nails and lotion...and all that stuff..so I don't "feel" bummy in sweats all day long)...and have the day to not have exercise looming in front of me.
Not that I loathe it, but if I get my basic done (the 20 min)...If I do decide to work out more...then that is my BONUS!
KEWL HUH????
Anyway, I put out a HUGE SOS a few minutes ago...so...ya already know I'm trying to get myself happy this morning...I will not do anything else until I have changed my frame of mind...and it seems that Mr. Pity Party is wanting to stay for another cup of coffee...and if I let him...I won't like what it does to me. So I will boot him out the door and ask him to not return. I'm breaking up with him.
Hmmmpht! Kicking his butt!
:D
Okay, I haven't totally lost it here, but bear with me...lol. :D :deer: (Have to USE THAT REINDEER! HE IS SOOOOO CUTE!)
Okay, did 25 minutes...and planning to only eat when "truly" stomach hungry today. :)
ajmarble 12-18-04, 03:44 PM Hi Jessi...Thought I would pop in and see how you are doing... Keep up the hard work you are doing excellent. You are making small changes...one thing at a time. That is the best way to make sure you will stick with it. to you girl...Way to go!!! AJ
Well Jessi, I think getting dressed up everyday is a great idea. I know its hard for me to feel motivated to excercise, diet, or do anything that has to do with self esteem, if I am not feeling good about myself. If you feel accomplished you should look it right? I am glad you have the working out thing done with. I also like to go in the morning because if I dont I havea hard time getting motivated to do it later. Then I feel super guilty if I dont end up going.
I'm gonna start getting up early to do my tai chi. After I'll do my 20 min. of treadmill walking...and I have planned to do one of my exercise videos each day...just for fun...I have so many that I can do one each day and not repeat for three or four weeks...and to shake it up and keep it so much fun...I will play "go fish"...I'll put em all in a round laundry basket and then pick one with my eyes shut and that way I'll be surprised...then as I finish that one, I put it on the shelf for next round. Cool and fun idea, HUH?????
I thought so. LOL...
Good night all....gonna do my one hour of tai chi every morning, cuz it is relaxing movement...and it will be nice to do that each morning.
Night all. :) :deer: (you know we gotta add the deer...lol).
Hi Jessi, Wow! That is a lot of videos! The variety will keep you from getting bored. I did check in with my journal. Ya, I have not been there. I have just been surviving. Work has me spinning. I just feel so overwelmed. I have gained back 4 lbs! I did get on the treadmill this week 2x. I am just so exhausted from trying to keep up with everything. Trying to focus on eating more fruit and vegetables. I love the oranges right now!!
Keep up the great work! I will check in on you. :deer:
Yeah, Susan...I kinda do a lot of shopping..and well being compulsive and impulsive doesn't help...lol...and Of course with the ed...I kind of spent a very lot of money on stuff...so instead of throwing it out, why not just use them to move my body in a fun way...focusing on moving my body...not losing my tummy...ya know???? :)
your doing :super:
Beth :peace:
Thanks, Beth...Glad to have your visit!!! Love your new avatar...great pic...You look so pretty!
Okay, so this morning I am up early...even though I went to bed realllllllyyyyyy late last night...I think it was around 4:00am....but up by 7:15am...so???
I am fixing to go to my tai chi and chi gungh and then I will treadmill 20 minutes...then pick out an exercise video from my game mentioned above.
That will be fun and then I will hit the shower, dress up and do my hair and make up and then spend the day doing whatever pleases me the most.
Have a wonderful day! Christmas is coming! YEAH! :deer: 3days til my anniversary, 4 days til Christmas Eve...and 5 days til Christmas...(Husband is off from the 23rd through January 3rd! Nice!) :deer: :deer: :deer: :D
Hahaha, Jessi, looks like you have all the countdowns taken care of.
Nice to see you posting, hang in there. Be good to yourself.
Hey Nancy! Good to see ya here!
Okay so I did do the tai chi, and I did the 20 min. on the treadmill....and still need to do my step aerobics video that I picked.
But 2 out of three aint bad and I'm still planning to do it.
