I just got my charts ready to go in my planner......I really like mine sweetpea...it's a zippered one, so unless I lose it...it's totally private and personal!
We will give ourselves top billing this year and getting healthy...and into remission is my first goal. I am SO looking forward to hearing clearly again and feeling more like myself......I find some joy in each day, regardless but hearing adds to it a hundredfold!!

You have some excellent goals as well and in implementing them....we will have a busy and fruitful year!!

Good morning and Happy New Year angels!
I've made my list of goals for the year. I will keep a copy in my dayplanner, as I will be using it every day. I got it last year/made tabs for myself and replaced the pages with my Health related stuff....doing up charts and plans on my PC.

3) Dance! In the Spirit and other!

~Spiritual/Emotional:

2) Get back in Church ( when hearing returns!)
3) Grow up! This one's tough!

Yep.....I PM'd Beth and she let John know...they are working on it.....I don't know if we will get back in order but I know they will do what they can. It was acting strange last night and rather scrambled....kinda confusing! Keeps us on our toes..finding ourselves and others! LOL!
Have a wonderful........on plan day!

Good Morning

I got my resolutions together. I had to find the paper I had written them on.

1. Lost at least 30 lbs.
2. Exercise more consisently so I can get my energy back and feel calmer.
3. Start back with yoga so I'm calmer.
4. Go back to church
5. Start back with Bible Study.
6. Finally learn Spanish
7. Take at least one class monthly so I can learn new things and meet new people.
8. Pay off one bill a quarter.
9. Drink more water.
10. Get out and see more, I have the golden opportunity to see Europe and I need to take advantage of it.
11. Write in my journal daily.

I've put a copy of this in my journal to remind what I'm working toward.

Have a great day.

Hey Renee

Great goals. Out of curiosity what sort of yoga do you do? and how does it help you feel calmer? it's something i've thought about but never tired... and how "tough" is it on the body lol

Blondee49
01-04-05, 10:24 AM
Wonderful goals Renee!
I'd not realized till just now where you were! YES....explore the region at every opportunity!
YOGA.....I wanna learn to do that as it looks SO soothing...Do they have Yoga for Weenies? I'm sure there are simple moves...in fact I have a sheet for 10 moves in my dayplanner. I got it from ivillage.com It's print and go yoga, located at diet & fitness.
Sweetpea, you might find that of interest! I'd forgotten I had that!
I will add it to my daily exercise routine. Number 8 would pose the only problem but there are alternatives so it's all good......and yes......calming!

Gonna boogy..have a great day everyone!

Hi

I use the Yoga for Dummies video. It helps calm me because I have to slow down and concentrate and relax when I do it. It also helps relax my body. It tends to get sore and yoga helps.

Have a great day.

Thanks for that tip! I'll look for it at the Library! I have a wonderful stretching tape of Richard Simmons that Lizzie sent me..I should use that 2-3 times a week! I'll be checking my "schedule" and see what soothing things I can add in each day.
So far, I'm doing pretty well......still no sugar and that's a blessing. Have exercised 4 out of 5 days, getting the water in and pretty well behaving.

Gotta get ready for work so will be back PM....
have a blessed day angel buddies! Take good care of you today!

01-19-05, 10:52 AM
But Look how far you've come!!
I'm booting this one up as i did a print on my goals for my Kitchen bulletin board. I have one on my board by the desk but the more I SEE 'em, the more I'll THINK about 'em and WORK on 'em!
In an effort to lower my cholesterol/triglcerides/BP....I've come up with a plan that I will improvise, starting today...January 19th.

The plan is.....
1) Have 3 meat free days each week, using plant proteins those days.
2) Fast Dinner 1 night a week....I will have coffee or tea if wanted...for diciplinary reasons
3) Make exercise easy.......the easier it is to GET it, the fewer excuses I should have NOT to!

I'll keep it simple and commit to daily work to make my goals......the task at hand is a big one but many have gone before us and we too can make it to the finish line!

My Projects for the rest of January include....
1) GET THAT KITCHEN IN ORDER, MISSY!
2) Ironing
3) My work area at the office: de-junk my desk and the storage bin
If I expend half the energy in doing my work that I do in avoiding it..these projects will be marked Completed in no time..which is what I have! LOL!
Have a great day!!

Thanks for the encouragement Bren

I need to look at my goals too. I had bits of paper spread out everywhere last nite trying to work out the best way to achieve my goals and still keep on top of all the day to day. ok going back to page 1 to sneak a peak at my goals!

Me too sweetpea! Our good intentions and grand plans have a way of being buried under Daily Do stuff! I am re-affirming mine today and I will do something each day to bring me closer to my goals.....deadline..Dec. 31! LOL! I don't want to be sitting here August 1st with NO progress made and I'm the only one who can change what happens in my place!
Take heart........New Start........today!
Have a blessed day!

You will sweetpea! We have ten days left of this month..let's see what we can do in those remaining days to make some progress and start February with a clen slate. We didn't set our goals to be accomplished in one month so look at what you've done, be positive and know that YES........this is OUR year to break out of that old shell and be all we can be.......we are MUCH more than our weight woes!
We are lovely/vibrant/vivacious/victorious ladies!!
Let's kick our butts into gear and get with our program! LOL! :coach:

Hi

I haven't done much this month towards my goals. I've been lazy I guess. But I'm looking forward to February for a new beginning. I'm starting a weigh management program through the hospital and am hoping that will help me move toward my goals.

I do believe this is the year that I will do it finally. We are a great group of women and we can do it!

01-21-05, 08:46 PM
yes thank you bren for giving me the kick up the ass that i needed. y'day i went out and did something social. one of my goals was to do one social event each week and i hadn't been keeping up. so it's a breakthru - hooray

Good morning angels!!

Well I bit the bigg'un yesterday with the Birthday cake but today is a brand new day...and I'm not doing THAT today!
Good for you sweetpea! Getting out socially will bring new opportunities your way....and mine too.....for meeting new friends and going new places. Other than Church, I haven't yet....but hey, the year has just begun. I'll check out the TNT singles meet at that church I mentioned in another post. I'll put it on my list of things to "concider" for the new week!

Renee, that's great! Starting a program at the Hospital. You will have really good monitoring and support. I'd thought of doing TOPS or WW's at one time and the money was a small obstacle........I was thinking of using it as a "social" exercise as well! LOL!
I suppose I do get some of that at work tho.....

Have a great weekend....enjoy yours! I will mine as well.......tho most of it's spent at the office!
Be blessed best where you need it most today!

I can't believe how much time has flown!

I looked at my goals and there has been some progress. I have done more socially in the last couple of months including my first ballroom dance lesson (well first for a couple of years LOL) and I have lost some weight so it's all heading in the right direction.

Blondee49
03-01-05, 04:45 AM
That's a GOOD report sweetpea! I too am looking over mine! I fly by the seat of my pants about 4 days a week and it's wearing thin! I'll get a new grip and tackle my project ME this month in earnest. I am SO ready for the beauty and GREEN os Spring and it's poppin' out all over!
The weather is lovely and I'll be getting outside more in the weeks ahead.
My March focus will be on my exercise plan and portion control. Even good stuff can be too much if I'm not aware of what I'm scarfing up!.......ok with the exception of my Furr's lunch with Mom........there I will eat more than usual! They don't do doggy bags! LOL!

sweetpea
03-01-05, 05:30 AM
a doggy bag of "furr" that made me laugh! i think it's a good thing they don't do doggy bags!!!

yes good weather definitely improves the mood and motivation :spring:

Hi
I reviewed my goals and progress this morning. I've made more progress this month. I've lost 6.4 pounds this month which puts me closer to my goal. I still have a ways to go but this will make it easier. I'm exercising more consistently which helps alot and I'm drinking my water daily. I still haven't gone back to church but that will come in time. The same with Bible study. I haven't learned Spanish yet but that is an ongoing thing. I started the New Beginnings class that that will carry me though the end of march. I've about paid off one bill and pay off 2. I went to Jerez last week for the first time. It was much closer than I thought. I'm doing better with my journal also.

Hopefully, each month a will make a little more progress.

SweetPea, good report.

Bren, I'm so ready for spring. We have had a cold rain for 3 days now and are suppose to have it for the rest of the week. :c(

Blondee49
03-05-05, 08:30 AM
Hooray, Renee! That's great! 6.4 pounds down and out!
Yep, you are learning so much with your program and each new thing will aid in getting where you want to be.
I'm still messing around with the same five pounds..off/onn/off/on.....so I'm cutting the yoyo string today. They are coming off and taking friends with..as Vickie says."Fat Buddies"......
I will do what I need to for my HEALTH'S sake!
Yesterday I picked up a dry erase board and markers for my co-worker and I, to mark our stepper exercise time. It's the weekly thing and will serve our needs perfectly! My #1 goal is 400 a day.......I can do 50 at a time with the last 10 really pulled out as my thighs and calfs are feeling it! I got 200 yesterday afternoon.....so we are encouraging each other to get that steppin' in! Even on the two days we work alone, we can keep our chart to get our counts in!
I'm gonna be using my mini-gym at home as well.......so will see some progress by the end of this month!

sweetpea
03-05-05, 03:39 PM
hey bren that's great you got a buddy in your office - that makes all the difference. going from 50 steps to 200 is a BIG improvement. Now don't you go overdoing it ya hear LOL. Take it slowly and just add a bit at a time...

my friend asked me if i want to go walking but so far only 1 walk last week lol. still i will take saffie for a walk later today and that should get me back on track

sweetpea
04-04-05, 12:50 AM
update!!! it's 4th april so thought i would check things out and see how i'm progressing.

walking: i was doing this regularly earlier this yr but have slipped. my friend only went for 1 walk with me and that was it

social: am making more of an effort to do things and get out of the house e.g. dog obedience but haven't been keeping in touch this last mth with the 3 new girls i met locally

house: sold!!! but conditional until april 29

Renee - you're a star. you have definitely shown us the way to do things. well done. so much progress in only 3 mths :ex:

still i remember one book that said an amazing thing. if you changed just one habit a mth in opne yr you would be a totally different person. 12 new habits make a big difference!

i forgot to report on my weight. I had 21kg to lose and i have lost 3.5kg so far. still a way to go but at least it's progress :dn

Bren :whip:

04-05-05, 10:08 PM
oh no raise in 3 yrs... boy your boss sounds a meanie lol

you'll be ok bren. it takes time to form habits. i think i send this somewhere else but it's best to just add 1 new habit at a time. if you do that then you can manage it and get on top of it. it's tempting to try and change everything at once but as dr phil says 'how's that working for ya?' answer IT ISN'T WORKING! so time to try a fresh approach. pick one area and focus on it for a few weeks then take it from there. were sith ya the whole way

Seeing as everyone else gave more detailed reports I thought I should take a proper look at my goals and give a more detailed report so here goes...

HEALTH
1. Reverse Prediabetes status
will be tested in November
2. Increase fitness and strength to levels that I can go dancing
err no! made progress then stopped. starting over
3. Reduce weight to 65kg and maintain this weight

4. Reduce anxiety levels
i have been working hard on this trying to do relaxation exercises etc. now the house is sold i am hoping i will make more progress
5. Laugh every day
no... but i am laughing more. my depression levels have dropped. were very high now moderate most of the time with occasional mega low

SPIRITUAL
1. Maintain a positive attitude and faith in positive outcomes
oh i need to work on this
2. Build a solid support network both online and in real life
yes am improving. have joined a new group that meets monthly to discuss personal development and i have definitely made more online friends

4. Find and pursue a career I can put my head and my heart into
my writing... and being Dr Phil Down Under hehe

Blondee49
04-06-05, 08:49 AM
LOL...Dr. Phil down under! He IS everywhere isn't he?
Thanks for the reminder on the ONE thing at a time SP....I was doing that and got off track and of course we WANT to do things right. Well on days I couldn't I threw everything out and did NOTHING well!

My number one task for April will be: Stopping the PM grazing again. My goals are to avoid eating while watching TV and to have no food after my dinner.
Starting TODAY: Wednesday 6-Saturday 30.

Since I've "done" some things fairly well...I'll count them as my Jan-March goals:
Let's see:
Priority 1: Spiritual: Get in Church: January
Priority 2: Other: Increase water from 48-64 oz: February
Priority 3: Exercise: walk 10 miles a week @ least: March
Priority 4: Food: Gain control of PM eating/Plan meals: April

There......that helps..to see that I HAVE done something.......just slow going and not the progress I'd hoped for! So I'll work at this months Priority while incorporating more movement into my day.
I appreciate everyone's input.....and I am gaining insight from it! Keep on coming by!

Bren

Well I was setting my next quarter goals for the Alive in 2005 challenge and I figured, there's no point endlessly setting goals without checking how you did last time. and well I dunno despite all my rushing around and my flagrant disregard for systems and procedures and in particular structure UGH UGH I'm quite structured. ironic isn't it LOL

Look forward to your report. I know mine's not where I'd like it to be, but progress is still a good thing. It's good to see there are some improvements

Don't feel bad Renee. The main thing is to look forward. Now you have your goals back in focus it will be easier to achieve them

Are you still part of that group? You were doing really well when you were part of that group. Maybe you could contact someone from there about getting a buddy to go walking with and motivate each other on your goals.

good luck

Hi

Sweetpea, the class is over and the group has scattered. The plan was for us to stay in contact and hang out together. Unfortunately, the main ones are moving this summer so that leaves me on my own again. but I'm going back to the gym tomorrow so that will help.

Have a great day.

LOL! Report card!
I have a few F's and D's on mine! F=fiddle fartin' around, D=diddling :o without dicipline

I too, will do my best the last two weeks of this year, to get a grip again and end on a positive note. I am mad at me for forgetting my meds and allowing myself to skip out the last few weeks. It takes TOO long to recover from a setback so I need to learn to manage a slip before it becomes one!

Carry on sweetpea! I'm coming along!

Hi

I didn't do so good with my resolutions this year. Hopefully, 2006 will be a better year.

1. Lose at least 30 lbs. I lost 10 pounds. It is a start.

2. Exercise more consisently so I can get my energy back and feel calmer. I was doing great with this until November and it is gone now.

3. Start back with yoga so I'm calmer. This last about 2 days.

4. Go back to church. I haven't given up on this one yet.

5. Start back with Bible Study. Nope

6. Finally learn Spanish. I learned enough to go shopping

7. Take at least one class monthly so I can learn new things and meet new people. Nope

8. Pay off one bill a quarter. I'm still working on this:)

9. Drink more water. I'm doing better here.

10. Get out and see more, I have the golden opportunity to see Europe and I need to take advantage of it. I did a little but not what I wanted.

11. Write in my journal daily. I have my good days and bad days with this.

Ok, I could have done better. I'm hoping 2006 will be a calmer year.

Renee:)
