View Full Version : Snow Angels: Weekly Weigh In!
sweetpea 01-01-05, 07:21 PM Weigh in - great idea
Unfortunately I have put 1 kg (approx 2lb) back on in last couple of days so I am currently 87.0kg
Goal 1 - get back to 86.0kg within a week
Goal 2 - 84.0 kg by end of January...
Now I gotta get out in the sunshine :D
sweetpea 01-01-05, 07:22 PM hey that's weird. i posted 3rd but my post has gone to #1 place. what's going on???
Blondee49 01-01-05, 07:40 PM Sweetpea...yours did that on the other threads too! LOL! I wonder what's up with
that?
I have 30 pounds to go to get back to where I was 2 years or so ago! With all the prednisone I took and the mainline munchies, not getting my exercise and all when in relapse....well I sat around/laid around and piled on the pounds! I am done with all that and I wanna get going!
Your 1kg will come off promptly! You've really done well!
Gonna check in at Boot Camp......see if everyone has arrived! Hope you have a great evening!
Renee! Good to see you checking in. I'll be weighing each day as I normally do but post once a week. I am hoping to see some major changes in the days ahead!
I'll c-ya'll tomorrow!
Bren
Blondee49 01-01-05, 08:20 PM Woohoo......I enter the New year 1 pound down......Thank God! I plan to see some moving and shaking at my place.......I will be weighing in once a week.....and will be making the downward plunge SOON.......I'll make my day Saturday, as it's the 1st day of my New way of Life! This just has to be our year to knock our socks off!
Beginning wt: 228.5
Goal one:......218.5~~10 #
sweetpea 01-01-05, 08:32 PM Ah this is nuts the postings are just going on in any old order!
I weigh daily too and enter it in my personal diary at home here but will check in weekly. you're right prednisone is shocking for weight and once you get in the habit of munching it's darn hard to break
Renee, you did well losing weight during the December party season
Hi
I finished December weighing less than I started but finished the year higher.
01/01/05 171.6
first goal: 162.6 lbs that's 9 lbs or right around 5% of my weight.
Have a great day.
Renee:)
vickilyn2806 01-02-05, 11:52 AM Morning,
I am gonna use Sunday as my weekly weigh day. I weighed in this morning and was pleasantly surprised to have lost weight! I weigh 231 this morning. Down 2.5 pounds!!! Whoooooooo Hooooooooo!!!!!!!
I am on my WAYYYYYYY!!!!!!!
Apparently diettalk has been having some kind of tech problem which is causing the posts to be out of order and dated wrong. Hope John can fix it......it was driving me even nuttier than I usually am last night:rofl:
Blessings:spring:
Vickie:pass:
sweetpea 01-02-05, 06:34 PM wow vickie 2.5 lb that's great WAHOO
can't wait for this crazy posting problem to be fixed too...
Blondee49 01-02-05, 08:39 PM Great news Vickie! Woohoo...I will dance for ya! I need to limber up anyway!
I think we may be fixed now? it seems so......yep we were falling all over one another!
I was down another 1/2 pound and as I had to put my train on a track instead of an arrow....LOL....I changed it to reflect it.
Let's boogy ya'll!
sweetpea 01-07-05, 04:35 PM weigh in day!!!
86.0 kg, so I have lost the weight I put on over the new year but nothing more. still i'm pleased ... it's a step in the right direction
Blondee49 01-08-05, 08:57 AM BOOHOO! :c(
Weigh in Saturday 1/8: 230....I've gained back 2 pounds..... X-( Just lets me know to cut my dinner portions, use caution in my choices and carry on! More veggies/fruit and maybe I'd better start today with my food plan for that accountability!
vickilyn2806 01-08-05, 10:42 AM I am anxious to weigh again...tomorrow is my weigh day. But I am also scared. I have done pretty well with my food choices this week.....except for one incidence with the infamous "golden arches". I didn't kick myself too much cause I have been walking alot this week and one trip to mickey D's in a week is mild for me....compared to the numerable trips for fast food I have used in the past. We will see how much damage I have done in the morning.
I will not be discouraged......no matter what that nasty old mister scale says.
I go to the doctor monday and his scale always weighs me several pounds heavier than my home scale anyways....I must prepare myself for that. I just ignore his weight and keep on using mine. I have 4 doctors that I must see several times a year....all have scales that weigh a few pounds off from each other. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Its a nightmare! Hahahahahaha!
Stay warm.......Its 30 degrees here with fresh snow and I am preparing to go for a walk.
Vickie:pass:
Hi
Weighed in this morning at 170.5 lbs. So I'm down 1.1 lbs.
Have a great day.
renee:)
sweetpea 01-08-05, 08:15 PM well done renee :dn
Bren are you still keeping a food diary? and how's your water going? don't worry you'll get back on track
vickie... we will wait with bated breath to see how you've done. McD huh? one advantage of living in the country is that i don't have that temptation. just fish n chips
Blondee49 01-09-05, 09:49 AM Yay Renee!! Down 1.1........
Vickie......that's a good report on the ONE trip to McD's as opposed to past weeks and the extra exercise is gonna make a BIG difference!
Yep sweetpea, I will be doing a food log again as it helped before and if I write it down in advance I'll see where I'm missing something.....
vickilyn2806 01-11-05, 07:02 AM Sorry for the delay in posting my weight from Sunday morning. I dreaded getting on that scale so I waited til the last minute before weighing.
231.5 Up 1/2 pound :c( I am so looking forward to seeing 229.....then 199..... Something to look forward to in the months ahead because I will do it!!!!!!!
Thanks for the support and encouragement!
Blessings:spring:

Blondee49 01-11-05, 07:09 AM Hello Vickie!!
It's good to see you and I'm SO proud of your success and YIKES..what a schedule you have!!
....I was up 2 # at my weigh in and as our bodies adjust to new regulations..we will see the scale move down! Mine must have been fluid as it's gone again but I'll only change stats on Saturday.
Hang on curves ahead!.........I will be so happy to see 200 again I may have to dance!
I have some beautiful things to wear when I get down the pounds and I intend to wear 'em!
Have a wonderful day and take good care of YOU today! I'll do the same down here!
Bren
sweetpea 01-11-05, 04:44 PM Yes Bren is right. It's only a small amount of weight and it will come off easily once you have your routine established. :)
vickilyn2806 01-11-05, 09:04 PM Awwww,
Thanks for the encouragement and support ladies. I so appreciate it and need it! I am sure the weight will start coming off soon again. My top weight was 288 lbs so I know I can lose weight and keep it off. I just need the motivation to be serious again!
Blessings:spring:
Vickie:pass:
Blondee49 01-12-05, 08:21 AM WOW! Awesome work Vickie! Almost 60 pounds to have taken a hike already so yes you know you CAN! That's great!
I'd piddled around and gained a lot over the past few years and have about 35 to go to get back to the starting gate but I will be SO pleased to see 'em go I won't care that it's rebound pounds!
Let's get some gone this week!! I have..hmmm lets see.....3 days to make a difference and I'm gonna!
Let's boogy!
sweetpea 01-13-05, 04:53 PM Hey all I'm doing weigh in a day early this wek as I will have someone staying this weekend and the scales are in the kitchen!
so.... I have lost another 1kg (2.2lb) and down to 85kg. hooray
Blondee49 01-13-05, 07:38 PM Wonderful report sweetpea! Hey, enjoy your company..have a great weekend!
Bren
sweetpea 01-13-05, 09:20 PM thanks Bren. am chatting to my friend online right now and the sun is out so it's a beautiful day. oh but i want a glass of wine! having to rein myself in
vickilyn2806 01-14-05, 08:01 AM Hi Sweetpea,
Congrats on the weight loss. You are doing just great and I am so proud of you!
Have a good weekend with your friend. See ya next week!
Vickie:pass:
Blondee49 01-16-05, 06:16 AM Hello all........I'm back down to 228....whew...so hopefully I move ahead and am done with rebound gains. I'd like to see a steady loss and will do all I can to ensure that!
sweetpea 01-16-05, 06:18 AM hooray... well done Bren. I bet that feels better
Blondee49 01-16-05, 07:02 AM Yes it does!! I know I retain fluid and that causes problems....but it's affected by my food choices, whether I get enough water, take my meds..which I've forgotten twice in two weeks.......so if I can wean me off the scale except for weekly weigh-ins, I'd not get discouraged as I often do with the daily checks. I may one day try that! LOL!
sweetpea 01-16-05, 06:23 PM hehe. I know about those daily checks. altho I didn't check over the weekend but i popped on the scales this morning
have you tried filling bottles in the morning with the amount of water? having one in the car, one at work, and one by your computer? i find that's what works for me LOL
ate a little too much over the weekend. my friend brought m&ms!!! how could i resist?
Blondee49 01-17-05, 08:32 AM LOL! My co-worker and maintainence man lust for chocolate....my take on it is..they should buy their own. James buys lottery tickets every day of the week so he could pick up his candy....Sharon stops for fast food twice a day most days and could get herself a bag. Yep....if it's in the place ya wanna eat it! I am SO thankful that particular siren call has lost it's voice!
I'm doing better on the water and usually forget only when I'm super busy.......mostly around the first to the tenth of the month. I have those nice squeeze bottles in 22 and 32 oz. size and keep one at work to refill from our supply there. I'm getting over my 48 oz most days....now forgetting the meds.......when I realize I have, I take 'em at night when I get home from work. That doesn't happen REAL often....again...during my rush time!
Monday Jan 17, 2005
206 lbs
On track with 2 lbs. per week goal. :D
Can't wait to get back into the one's.
sweetpea 01-17-05, 03:52 PM Bren it's hard to keep all the balls up in the air at the same time isn't it?
msweb. welcome and well done on the weight loss? are still doing the bootcamp challenge?
Blondee49 01-18-05, 04:27 AM Hello msweb! Great job on 2 # loss per week! I hope to see the hundreds again soon too..have a way to go but will get there! You are so close you can almost touch it!
Have a great day!
Yep am still juggling sweetpea.....I think I'll use fewer balls! LOL.....
Bren
vickilyn2806 01-18-05, 11:37 AM Hi,
Sunday morning I weighed in at 229....whewwww! I lost the half pound I gained and it took 2 fat buddies with it!
The last three days were spent just working and sleeping...not much time for anything else. I am meeting my BOOTCAMP goals though!
Today will be my catch up day here at home and try to get some rest.
Have a great day and keep warm.....its super cold here! It was a great day to sleep in!
Vickie:pass:
sweetpea 01-18-05, 05:31 PM hehe 2 fat buddies - i like that
Good morning
Running a little behind in my postings. I am up this week to 171.6 but my monthly visitor came to visit on Saturday and I always show a increase then. I'm hoping with my next weigh in I will show a loss.
Have a wonderful day.
renee:)
Blondee49 01-19-05, 10:23 AM Great job Vickie!! Woohoo! I am still messing around with the same two pounds and I am really tired of 'em so will take charege today and get on track!
Renee..I'll bet next week you will be down as well. I have the fluid thing going on and haven't been paying close enough attention to myself the past few days. I've been exausted it seems and with no real reason I can see yet. I'll do some digging today and see what I come up with....guess I need to be doing a reality check of my own sweetpea!
Have a great day and take excellent care of yourselves..I will as well!
Bren
sweetpea 01-21-05, 08:53 PM happy dance :dn :dc
I lost another pound (0.5kg). wasn't expecting to as earlier in the week when i weighed myself i had gone up a pound but i lost it and i ain't letting it find me again!
vickilyn2806 01-21-05, 11:31 PM Way to go Sweetpea!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer:
Keep up the awesome work!!!!!! :dc
Vickie:pass:
sweetpea 01-21-05, 11:37 PM Thanks. It's really motivated me. Normally I'd be thinking about sweet things but not now!!!
Blondee49 01-22-05, 08:38 AM GREAT report sweetpea!! Isn't that GOOD!! Success is sweeter than fudge!
Not so, for me......I'm at 231 today! I'd forgotten my meds AGAIN.......yesterday, and I know it's fluid retention but it still BITES! X-( This is three times this month I've done this! EEEK! X-(
I "thought" I'd taken 'em and last night when I went to flip out the lite...well they were still in their holder. :c( I took 'em anyway, tho I'm up about 5 times in the night....I've had as much as an 8 pound gain overnight before so this was fairly mild at 3........but I don't like it!
Well......that's my whine of the week and I EXPECT to be doing a victory dance NEXT weigh in!
Bren
sweetpea 01-22-05, 07:28 PM I forget my meds all the time too! It's easily done, altho mine don't have such a dramatic effect. At least you know what is causing the weight gain but gee it must be frustrating. looking forward to the victory dance next time round!
vickilyn2806 01-22-05, 09:37 PM Tomorrow is weigh day..... :O Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!
Vickie:pass:
Blondee49 01-23-05, 09:16 AM GOOD LUCK Vickie.......and Blessings to you!
Thanks so much for the encouragement.yes it's VERY frustrating and it's not like me to forget so often!! I'd miss a dose maybe once every 4-5 months, and suddenly it's 3 times in one month! I think it's the rush of things that has me addleminded right now..work related and all. The time it was 8 pounds, I was so swollen I couldn't bend my legs and I was so congested with fluid around my heart and lungs, I couldn't lay down..quite miserable. SO.....I'm waking up, paying attention and yes I WILL see results this week!
Have a blessed day and be GOOD to you today!
Bren
sweetpea 01-23-05, 06:23 PM Good luck Vickie
Bren that water retention sounds serious... what causes it? as for the pills can you set a daily timer on your phone or something to ring you when it's due?
vickilyn2806 01-23-05, 06:57 PM Hi Snow Angel Buddies,
Weigh in today....I maintained. No loss, no gain. I accept that! I will never lose every week and becoming upset with myself will only contribute to my eventual failure if I let it!
Next week, I will lose at least 1 pound. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!
Bren, I too am worried about that water retention....8 lbs in one week is serious! I know taking meds is hard to remember. And I take a lot of pills. I wish I had a answer for you. I am just carrying extra in my purse now and when I get to work and realize I have forgotten meds again, I have some with me. Its a struggle. I am getting better about not forgetting. Hopefully you will be able to find something that helps. I think they do make some sort of alarm to help you remember to take meds....pill cases that ring or beep. Cool, huh!
Sweetpea, just wanting to say hi. Thanks for the encouragement. I sure need it.
Blessings:spring:
Vickie:pass:
sweetpea 01-23-05, 07:39 PM You're welcome Vickie. And you're right - getting upset only starts a vicious cycle of guilt and comfort eating.
Crazy2 has started a "stinkin thinkin" challenge to encourage us all to think more positive and she's right. it's jolly hard but it just has to be done! http://www.diettalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45653
Good Morning
I maintained this week. Didn't lose my "water gain" but I guess that is ok. My hands and under my eyes are puffed up. They will go down soon along with the weight. It has been humid here so I'm sure that is part of the problem. Yesterday and this morning it has been real foggy. The rains should start soon, it is past time for the rainy season to start in earnest. It hasn't rained it a month. We need it.
Take care
Renee :)
Blondee49 01-24-05, 05:39 AM Morning all!
The fluid retention is related to my Meniere's condition........I take diazide each day, have been out of the BP meds for 4. The worst time was when I was out, waiting for pay day! I don't do that anymore! I make sure I have 'em.
I have my week's worth of doses on my dresser, in the holder and normally I do a quick check before leaving home like I do at the office..lights out, AC off, locked, on, off, set! LOL! Here it's meds, shoes match, tag in, AC off, coffee pot off, wallet and phone in purse, earrings on......somehow I've missed part of the ritual!
I refill the container today. I need to pick up meds at K-Mart and the Clinic Pharmacy today. I'll be going to Mom's Thursday and need all my goodies. Our sale day is Wednesday and my boss wants me there so I do different days off those times. I'll do Thurs/Fri instead of my Tues/Wed. It should be fairly slow so I won't over-exert myself! LOL!
I did sneak my laundry in.....that guy loaded tighter than I do! EEK! If he doesn't hurry, I'll beat him to the dryers too. He may be mad I moved 'em but I can't wait all morning........if I don't strike now, only God knows when I'd have the energy again!
Gonna run and clean some while I'm up and about. I'll see you all later! Have a blessed day! Mine already is!
Bren
sweetpea 01-28-05, 09:03 PM ok i have maintained at 84.5kg for the week which i'm pleased with given i've been slack on the exercise and eating!
Blondee49 01-29-05, 07:22 AM X-( :c( X-( I did it AGAIN!
What is wrong with me? I will HAVE to do my schedule and check stuff off I suppose? I forgot my meds again yesterday. No wonder I felt blown up! I WAS! :whip:
I'm checking in at 235 and I don't care what what caused it, I am taking care of it TODAY!
I figured out my eating problem sweetpea! YAY! Now I'll do something about it!
When my hearing came back I started watching TV again and with that habit came the eating while watching! DUH!
It took me this long to figure that out! I will journal more often and stay ahead of the game instead of muddling through. I was surprised when the realization hit me last night! So today I'm getting a grip and moving forward. No messing around today!
Bren
sweetpea 01-29-05, 07:32 AM oh no!!! but at least you know what is causing it. Have you set some systems in place now? Is there anything I can do to help?
good luck...
Blondee49 01-29-05, 07:49 AM Sweetpea, you help by being here!I appreciate so much, the support and encouragement! You are a real Angel!
I'm making a change to my food/activity logs for my day planner, with a spot to check Meds off....I will choose an activity for my PM downtime and do a sign up to set on the TV.....NO EATING WHILE VIEWING! I live alone and can do that and a visual trigger helps! Being AWARE of the problem will keep me alert to those little nudgings to the kitchen!
Bren
sweetpea 01-29-05, 08:12 AM Yup awareness is the first step.
As Dr Phil says you don't stop a habit you replace it with a newer and better one so it's good you're creating some new habits. It's really easy to get into the habit of subconscious eating, I know I do it all the time (that and staying up too late like tonite lol)
vickilyn2806 01-30-05, 06:45 AM Today is weigh day for me....I stepped on the scale with some anxiety this morning but just decided to DO IT!
I am now weighing in at 227.5.....yayyyyyy for me! Down another 1.5 lbs.
I will change my stats when I get home from work tonight.
Have a great day. I am HAPPPPPPPPPPY!
Vickie:pass:
Blondee49 01-30-05, 08:22 AM YAY Vickie!! Your hard work and diligence is paying off! Woohoo! You're an inspiration GF!
I'd like to shed the fluid weight this week and get down to my "new" fat ...it's gonna take a bit of diligence on MY part to get it done!
I did get my new Food/Activity logs donme up, and my sign on the TV helped! YAY! No snacking yesterday except a can of sardines in hot sauce w/crackers......and none after dinner! I wish I'd had my epihany a couple of weeks ago!! LOL!
I've had it NOW and NOW is a great time for getting in gear and getting down the pounds!
Bren
sweetpea 01-30-05, 05:21 PM well done Vickie. I bet it feels good to say goodbye to that weight lol :cheer:
Bren. yup it helps to have a system, and it's great that having the sign has paid off already :ex:
Good Morning
I got on the scale and :c( it is up again to 173. Hopefully, this will be a better week. Congrats Vickie!
Have a wonderful week!
Renee:)
Blondee49 01-31-05, 08:15 AM Yep Renee, that pound or so will take a hike and take more with it..fat buddies I think Vickie said!
Mine are having a last Hoorah before taking off for parts unknown. The party's over and they've gotta go!
Here's to a good report next weigh in!
Bren
sweetpea 02-05-05, 03:56 PM well i'm exactly the same again this week... but on the plus side my dog has lost 500gm so at least someone in the house is losing!
at the moment i'm really only thinking about getting down to 80kg which is about 176lb. This is my first goal and I will feel pretty good when i get there (yup when not if lol)
i will have to make more of an effort as i am still eating way too much junk food. i have set an aggressive goal this mth to lose 2kg (4.4lb) so i need to get my a into g :whip:
Blondee49 02-06-05, 08:52 AM X-( POOO! X-(
I was hitting the post button and got kicked offline! WAAAAAH!
Anyway....Yay sweetpea..NOT gaining some weeks is a big VICTORY!! You WILL see your goals met and you have the can do attitude neccessary to get it done! Good job on getting doggies down! LOL!
TaDa!!.....I am back to 231...4 pounds of fluid I'd gained last week are gone again and I am just NOT gonna play with them anymore!
I want to see MAJOR changes in the weeks ahead and that requires more of me, as our Lizzie says. I am capable of more and I'll see what I can squeeze out of me..and OFF!
I DID get 5000 steps in yesterday! Yay! That's the most for one day in awhile. I'm getting my groove back.....
Have a blessed week and weigh in angels!! I'll be back!
Bren
Hi
I got on the scale this morning with my eyes closed, and when I opened them I had a pleasant surprised. I was down 1.6 lbs to 171.4. I was happy. And surprised. :D
SweetPea - it is better to maintain than to gain.
Bren - glad the 4 pounds went away and you are getting your groove back.
I think that I might be finally finding my groove again. I think the key for me this week has been writing down everything I eat. Sometimes I don't eat anything just because I don't want to write it down for the dietican to see. 8-|
Have a great week!
Renee :D
sweetpea 02-06-05, 04:41 PM hooray Bren! that's a HUGE step in the right direction :wn
and yes i was happy to maintain, i have been eating a bit of crap this week. so i was lucky not to put weight on.
sweetpea 02-06-05, 05:22 PM Renee we must have been posting at the same time. congrats on the weight loss that is fantastic :cheer:
vickilyn2806 02-06-05, 07:18 PM Today is my official weekly weigh in day but I am gonna take a week or two off from weighing myself. I am losing my resolve to lose weight as a means to better health, better glucose numbers and more energy, and replacing it with the ecstacy to see the number on the scale move in the right direction. Don't get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with watching those numbers go down but I do not want it to be my only reason not to eat the potato chips, or the candy. For some reason, I am wanting to weigh myself all the time now. I know that cannot be good for me because weight flucuates all the time. When the numbers go up, its hard for me to maintain my enthusiasm. So I will forego the scales for awhile. My last recorded weight is 225 and I will hang onto that as my official weight for now.
I hope you guys can understand how I feel about this. My health is critical for me at this time.
Love ya,
Vickie:pass:
sweetpea 02-06-05, 10:40 PM that soudns like a really good plan vickie. eating healthily and looking after yourself is the best long term solution. i know you have been feeling optimistic lately and it's important not to let the scales interfere with this
i definitely relate to this as i know my motivation needs to rest on my health not the scales. sometimes i starve myself the night before weigh in so the scales will look better and that is not healthy!!!
Vickie, I understand completely. Sometimes that scale monster takes over and we lose prespective of why we are doing this. It because all about the numbers. Then we will down because we don't lose even though we are eating healthier. Then we lose the motivation. When that happens it best to hide the scale for a while. Maybe on weigh in once a month. Have you tried taking your measurements and using that as a guide instead? That is what they are recommending at the hospital.
Have a great week!
renee:)
Blondee49 02-07-05, 07:31 AM Yay Renee! That's a good report!! Congrats!
Thanks girls! For my own kudos....I was so glad to see the regain off and am ready to move on!
Hey Vickie.......you do what's right for YOU.....I too, have health concerns and that's my reason for making changes........the weight loss will benefit those concerns and if weighing too often becomes a problem, then NOT doing it will help!
You're doing a great job and are learning how to best care for you.......we all are on the same journey, just our route and vehichle choice varies!
vickilyn2806 02-07-05, 04:21 PM Hey Ladies,
Thanks for the support! You are the greatest!!!!!!!!! I am having a hard time emotionally today so I will keep this short and sweet!
Vickie:pass:
Blondee49 02-08-05, 04:58 AM Prayers for and (((HUGS))) to you Vickie........breathe deep and rest when you can. You've been going 90 to nothing for weeks. Take good care of you!
Bren
sweetpea 02-11-05, 05:16 PM hooray hooray happy dance
another ugly pound has gone for a walk
now down to 84 kg
Blondee49 02-12-05, 08:11 AM YAY sweetpea!! Let's dance!! I too, am down one.......230 this morning. I will be adding more veggies and fruits in my food plan and that will help.....and GOT to get all my water!
sweetpea 02-12-05, 03:22 PM fantastic news
i have been having lots of raw veges in my salads :dc
i get the little round beans and cut them into small pieces, do slim sticks of courgettes, and cut little pieces of asparagus in there. i'm sure the raw veges help lol
Blondee49 02-13-05, 06:32 AM Yes they will...lots of nice fiber and nutrients aren't cooked away in the water! Good for you, making little changes along the way! It will make a big difference, as time goes on! My Peas are SO good..I need to put some in the freezer this morning as it was a big batch!
sweetpea 02-13-05, 07:01 AM are you talking about home grown peas? i live on a farm and am embarrassed to say i don't grow any veges, just strawberries and other fruit in my orchard (and they were already planted when i arrived)
Blondee49 02-13-05, 07:22 AM Hiya sweetpea.....yep......they were home grown. My friend's neghbors had gardens and had given Cissy lots of stuff last year......okra/peas/green beans/squash....and she shares with me. She brought me some stuff the other day when she came to do my perm. YUM! I pop a whole jalapeno in the pot to spice things up!
Berries...I buy frozen at Wally World.....those are yummy too!
vickilyn2806 02-13-05, 07:42 PM 34 days until SPRING......Yippety Yahooey!!!!!
Soon I can plant my garden and have lovely fresh veggies everyday!!! Ohhhh, I can't wait to eat another garden fresh tomato!!!!!
Blessings:spring:

Good Morning
I'm down 4/10 of a pound to 170.8. Not much but something. Which really is good for me since I have pms. Usually I go up instead.
Bren and Sweet Pea, congrats on the loss, that is wonderful!!!!!
I'm so ready for spirng. I won't be able to have a garden this year but I will be able to go to the farmer's market and get the fresh stuff:)
Have a wonderful day.
Renee:)
sweetpea 02-14-05, 03:05 AM oh it's definitely a step in the right direction, and i know what you mean about monthly fluctuations. still the main thing is to FEEL better and i know i am. hopeyou are too
Blondee49 02-14-05, 08:13 AM I miss having a garden Vickie.......there's nothing better than garden fresh produce! We too, have a little Farmer's Market tho and I'll prowl there! The one in Dallas is REALLY nice, and I'd go there with Hubby # 2 occasionally when we were together.
You're doing good Renee! Time is flying! Hey sweetpea.....see ya'll soon. I think Saturday will be here in three days!
sweetpea 02-19-05, 06:21 PM well this is a surprise... another 0.5kg (1lb) gone gone gone. friday and saturday i ate past the point of being full and stuffed in a couple of hot x buns each day so i figured no chance of losing weight. what a pleasant surprise!
Blondee49 02-20-05, 07:35 AM Good going sweetpea........yep any loss is nice, when we're not really expecting it!
None for me to report this week. well....such is life some days!
Way to go SweetPea!
This week I had a 2 pound loss so I'm happy and shocked. It really surprised me. So I'm now down to 168.8. It's been a while since I've been under 170.
Have a great week.
renee:)
Blondee49 02-21-05, 07:35 AM YAY Renee! 2 more pounds down! That's GOOD!! Below 170 again! Woohoo
I look forward to the day I reach 200 and below again. I could kick my butt for gaining so much the past three years! It WILL come off again!
Have a great week!
Bren
sweetpea 02-21-05, 07:36 AM that's a fantastic achievement renee!!! well done
sweetpea 02-25-05, 07:13 PM it's a miracle... another 0.5kg / 1lb gone hooray
altho i can't say i've always eaten healthily. sometimes focusing on the scales is a bit misleading. i ate less yday but still included rasp sorbet ice cream, a sml choc bar and 3x choc soy milk!!! but i did have a salad sandwich so akll is not lost hehe
Blondee49 02-26-05, 08:39 AM LOL! Salad sandwich! Sometimes veggies have to hunt us down to be eaten!
Good job sweetpea! Another one bites the dust.
None here...but........time will tell the tale!
Bren
vickilyn2806 02-27-05, 07:50 PM What is a salad sandwich????? Is it anything like a veggie sub? Sounds good anyways!
Hey, check out the numbers. I am revising my stats again today!!!! I am down another 2 lbs!
I get discouraged because it seems that I am losing so slowly but I am thankful that I am indeed losing and hopeful it will stay gone this time. I am anxiously awaiting seeing 200 on the scale......new territory. The lowest I have been in the last 10 years was 203 right before my mom died and my great depression and weight gain started. In the last 5 years I have only flucuated 5 to 10 lbs at any time no matter how hard I tried. So I am PUMPED this time!!!!!!
THANKS GUYS FOR BELIEVING IN ME!!!!!!!!
Blessings:spring:

sweetpea 02-27-05, 07:59 PM oh wow!!! that is fantastic, 2 lb is a big step and i'm so pleased you've made progress. Hope you're feeling better on other levels too and have got over your exhaustion. I know you were very run down a week ago :dn
Blondee49 02-28-05, 08:10 AM YAY Vickie! That's a great report! 2 pounds is GOOD! You've been thru the mill, both directions of late, and have stuck to your program with a new resolve! Congrats to you!
I've done the same thing with the same pounds for two years and will be EXPECTING better from me in the time ahead. I'll play catch up soon! I LONG to see 200 again! LOL! I never thought I'd say that 'till my weight crept up to 236.5! Now I'd feel skinny at 200! That's goal ONE for me..to return to that weight.
Have a wonderful and blessed week angels!!
Bren
sweetpea 02-28-05, 05:28 PM Isn't it funny how your perspective on things change? I used to always weigh around 60kg, and when I got to 65 (140lb) I was like well I don't want to get any bigger. Now I would be thrilled to be 80kg because I was over 90kg for a long long time
HI
Everyone is doing wonderful! It is very inspirating and I need all the motivation I can get. I am down again this week by 2.4 pounds to 166.2. Of course, I was sick to my stomach for 2 days and couldn't eat so that may have had something to do with it.
Have a good day.
Renee:)
sweetpea 03-05-05, 03:54 PM it's a nasty way to lose weight renee, but still looks good on the scales!!!
i have put back on 1kg/2.2lb so am now 84.0. GRRRR X-( annoying but only a temporary setback. i know i overate this week, and that i didn't do enough cardio so i will hve to get the walking shoes out and be organised
Blondee49 03-06-05, 09:24 AM Yep..being sick is not a "fun" way to lose! I sure hope yopu're feeling better Renee!
Hiya sweetpea! Don't it bite when the weight rebounds? I am tired of the same pounds boppin' back on..so will be making some changes to alter that sad state of affairs!
This weeks weigh in: 235....so am up again......I EXPECT to see a lower number on Saturday the 12th!
sweetpea 03-13-05, 06:20 AM i forgot to weigh myself this weekend but i weighed during the week and had lost some of the weight i regained. will skip this week and catch up next week!
still fighting bad eating habits so any loss will be meaningless until i eat a more balanced diet!
Blondee49 03-13-05, 09:30 AM Hiya sweetpea........we might oughta do a MONTHLY one as our weekly flucuations BITE! Mine this week was down 1 but it's been that SAME one like 8 times since the first of the year! LOL!
Until I cut to the chase and get down and STAY down..my battle is much like your own. Sure, it counts coming off but I do get tired of playing with the same ones countless times! :c(
Good morning
I weighed in at 165 lbs this week. I was surprised since my monthly visitor came and I normally experience a gain.
SweetPea and Bren - I experience daily flucuations, it is flustrating. But I only count the day of my official weigh in. But there are days, it will jump up 4 lbs only to go down 5. I think for me it is water retention.
Take care and dont' worry about the scale as much as inches.
Renee:)
Blondee49 03-18-05, 08:41 AM YAY Renee! That's great! And thanks for the encouragement! Boy I needed that today....and I'll keep that in mind. I once had a chart, that took daily weigh in's and you'd do an average at the end of each week to get your" average weight" for that week.
Tomorrow is my scheduled day so will behave today. Have a great day....Bren
sweetpea 03-19-05, 05:53 PM Well I'm back to 83kg. But it doesn't feel like much of a victory as I've already been here before LOL
Still it's a step in the right direction
Renee i can't believe how well you're going with your weight loss. That group you're going to seems to be working really well.
Blondee49 03-20-05, 08:13 AM I'm back and no news is not GOOD news..as I'm not down any BUT.......I am dusting the gym equipment, getting RESOLVED to kick my butt into high gear after "coasting" for 2.5 months and I will see positive results and soon!
Rene! YAY for you! Your hard work is paying off and you are committed to getting as healthy as possible! You're rocking!
Bren
sweetpea 03-20-05, 05:34 PM good idea too. i'm gettiong back on the exercise routine too. helps keep my mind off food as well as burning calories. all a big plus i say!
Blondee49 03-21-05, 09:02 AM Yep....Regular exercise is the biggest boost to our program.....getting our MINDS prepared for it is where it starts as we can talk ourselves out of it in a New York minute!.....couldn't spell.......
sweetpea 03-25-05, 05:37 PM MONDS = MINDS? i hope so LOL. the mind boggles
OK I have hit the wall. I am now 85kg and I gotta get serious. Really quite shocked I thought I was maintaining. It's hard to feel motivated right now. I am really down about the house sale and loosing so much money. Will just take today as it comes.
sweetpea 03-25-05, 05:37 PM gosh i just took a closer look. i've gone up 2kg = 4.4lb in a week!
Blondee49 03-26-05, 05:20 AM LOL! Yep...monds.......depends on the day I suppose? I meant MINDS! I lost mine I suppose. I am really up........and very dissapointed about it and am gonna change my stats to reflect it with my new high being my "beginning" as I am going BACK to the drawing board. I have sucked like a Hoover and have got to make some changes NOW.
So my quarterly report will be a bad one if I don't finish with a turn-about!
I'm up to 239........highest ever :c( and I pray today will be the last time I EVER see that figure!
GOAL One:224.......15 pounds
Bren :help:

Blondee49 03-27-05, 09:06 AM I'm in, once again..let the games begin! I'm headed to 224........hope to be there soon!
Blondee49 03-27-05, 02:38 PM HOORAY!
I've discovered my BIGGEST current problem! It's my BP meds! I'm on 10mg Lisinopril and the symptoms I'm having including rapid weight gain...are side effects of the meds! Whoo!
The tummy troubles etc. are related and I should NOT be taking the Dyazide with this med as it can cause dangerous levels of potassium build up! YIKES!
I'll call the clinic first thing tomorrow!
What a relief!
Bren
sweetpea 04-01-05, 08:03 PM WOW! would be great to be able to change the meds or even throw them away lol
I know meds contributed to my weight gain big time, and even when you stop it takes a while to come right
good news ... i lost 2.5kg last week while sick and have kept it off so now 82.5kg :dn
