Hi all--

I am a 25 year old in grad school with 2 jobs and 3 organizations to help run.. I am an unapologetic workaholic, but I am also a compulsive overeater. Right now I am 5'6" and 280lbs., and though i have always been comfortable with my size (if they don't like it, it's their problem) and am still quite attractive, my ankles and knees are crying, and my fiance is worrying about my health.
So, i am trying to lose about 50 lbs now, and then hopefully 40-50 later. Some sources say my "target" weight is 140, but I think I am most comfy in a size 16 and healthy, which for me is 175.

As you can see, I am chatty. My main barrier is that on the go, i can't seem to pack food with me, so i grab the trash in the vending machines, and eat when i am stressed. As I said, its a compulsion - one which i am too poor to work on in counseling.

Anyway, this is me, and i need a bud. Please contact avanmisfit@aol.com

taynted, if you expected to have a diet buddy and gave up in 24 hours, I imagine part of your problem is that you want results too quickly. Which of course would go quite well with the workaholic mentality.
In 10 years your career will be going quite well, no doubt-but where will your body be?? In 35 years you'll be ready to retire and enjoy life-yet not feel like it!! Make sure you take on this body of yours like a big project with work. A legacy to leave behind, except it's all for you. Be patient, for yourself and for goodness sakes--don't get so pushy with the diet buddies. Some of us also have busy lives and our own goals to work toward!! good luck. leighb
