View Full Version : Get to it goal... 2005!
~flutterbye~ 01-02-05, 05:31 PM Since I am a newbie this is my very first Journal!
My goals this year are to get fit and healthy and to lose this awful FAT!
My goal is to lose 40lbs by my 30th birthday which is in July. I want to go out on my birthday in a new much skinnier outfit!!
I will start working out at least 3 times a week (to start) and I will start by drinking at least 32 oz. of water and not eating fast food or drinking pepsi. I am determined that by next Christmas I won't be embarrassed by being filmed on Christmas morning. I am going to beg for my picture to be taken!! LOL! :lift:
JoThrive 01-02-05, 05:35 PM Hello, flutterbye, welcome to Diettalk. Nice to meet you. Sounds like you have a great plan for losing weight. Just stick to it, and look forward to next Christmas and a 'skinnier you' in a new outfit. Good luck.
~flutterbye~ 01-05-05, 10:52 PM Thanks Jo.
I am still sticking to my goals but I'll admit that today has been hard. I am really hungry. I think I need to change my foods somewhat and eat things that are a little more filling. I hate being hungry, it is so discouraging. I have been having major headaches also. Probably wasn't a good idea to cut calories(signifigantly) start exorcising and cut caffine totally out of my diet all at once. I feel lightheaded and yuck. Tomorrow is going to be better. This is the start of a healthy new me. I have lost 10 pounds so I am seeing results so I am determined not to let myself slide. I can do this.

Hi my buddy, Flutterbye! So glad you started a journal. It will help you reach your goal and 40 pounds by July is very reasonable. Funny how the outlook on getting your picture taken changes when you lose weight. I HATED getting my picture taken, every last one of them was awful. Now, it's pretty cool and it's great to see the progress also. 10 pounds lost is fabulous! You will figure out as time goes on what food items keep you full longer. Have you tried eating smaller, more frequent meals to keep your hunger at bay? It really works for me. Keep up the good work and the "withdrawal" will go away. Just stay strong. Sue
Hi again Flutterbye. Someone signed up for a buddy so you finally have your own personal buddy now! Here's the info. http://www.diettalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45717.
Athletea 01-06-05, 11:07 AM Hi, Flutterbye!!!! Congratulations on the 10 pound loss ... that is very significant ... you are on your way!!!! :cheer: IMO you are wise not to try to cut cals too much, slow and steady wins the race. It's never a good idea to get too hungry, although I'll share with you that I, at least, am often hungry even when I've had tons and tons of cals ... it seems to be a psychological hunger ... but I'm working to be able to differentiate between real physical hunger and the emotional kind.
You have really good goals set up and a great attitude ... here's to that skinny Christmas pic next year!

~flutterbye~ 01-07-05, 07:40 PM LOL! HI everyone. I was so busy yesterday that I didn't get a chance to look here so I missed all these posts. Thanks Sue and Hi Vanessa! I have finally figured out that I am taking my meal and turning it into 2 small meals instead of one. I am eating my vegetables then going away for about 20 minutes and coming back to eat the rest of my meal, it lasts longer and I think it tricks my mind into thinking that I have really eaten two meals. I have also vowed to sit down this weekend and figure out some more foods I can eat that will fill me up for longer periods. I have worked out every day this week except yesterday! I was very proud of myself, usually that is the thing I just can't bring myself to do. :cheer:
Vanessa I'll pm ya!

~flutterbye~ 01-11-05, 08:11 PM Ugg, didn't do to good today. Didn't work out and had a BAD lunch. Oh well, tomorrow is another day. I am not going to let the fact that I blew it today discourage me. I'll work out tomorrow and watch my cals closer tomorrow.
I hope you had a good day today Vanessa!

~flutterbye~ 01-23-06, 01:06 PM I haven't been doing anything this past year so I am starting over again. I started back in at 240 and now am 225. I have exercised almost everyday since Jan 1 and I have started to fix my eating habits. I am SLOWLY changing the eating so that I don't get discouraged and quit again. I have a friend who is going to be exercising with me which is a big motivator for me. I need major amounts of motivation to do this .... I know that I can NOT do it alone. So baby steps.. will hopefull make me a happier healthier me.
Hi - good to see you journaling here. You have made awesome losses already. Good for you. You will do great, you have made major changes already. Great that you have a friend to exercise with. That always makes it better. Take care!!
