I know I am no longer overweight.
I try to think about my body positively.
But I still have those days where I feel like no matter how much weight I lose, it will never be enough, so why bother trying.
When I lived with my parents, every morning when I woke up I used to stand naked in front of a full-length mirror and think good thoughts about myself. It helped immensely.
But I have long since moved out of my parents' house and no longer have a full-length mirror.
I know everyone has days where they feel bad about themselves and their bodies. What do y'all do to counter it?

I take my mind off myself by helping others.

ps. Maybe it's time you got your own full-length mirror.

If having a full length mirror helps, maybe you should get one of your own. I think I recall getting mine for $15 - it's a real cheapie but it hangs up with one nail, is actually pretty light, and I don't see any distortion (where I look bigger or smaller than I really am). I don't remember where I got it, but maybe a WalMart type of store?
108, maybe you should take some pictures of yourself at your current weight and look at them every morning.
Best thing I think is to take some pictures of you and with friends-- so you can see how thin you are compared to other people too! I think that will help more than the mirror-- mirrors make us obsess too much about our every tiny flaw.
Better to look at pictures of happy times everyday I think! :)
I've found that certain styles and colors of clothing look much better on me than others. I try to only buy and wear things that I feel I look great in. It does wonders for your confidence to wear clothes you love on you.
Another thing I try to do to take my focus off what my body looks like is to consider how healthy and/or fit I am rather than how I look. If I know I can climb a mountain, does it matter if I can wear a bikini?

Climbing a mountain is a great reason to feel good! :)
I agree... thinking about all the things you can do when you feel fit is a better idea. When I think my weight loss allowed me to climb temples in Guatemala and scuba dive with man-eating sharks in Belize, I feel REALLY good (even if my tummy isn't perfectly flat!).
when i feel bad about my body i try to keep my mind on something else, read, listen to music, go for a walk...

i think you need to answer the question, why do you feel the need to equate weight loss, with your sense of being secure? i just think you're giving too much power and putting too much of your identity into one aspect of yourself, your weight. you are more than your weight. :)
